Genuinely the best dub of any anime I've ever seen. The cast does a phenomenal job and the localization team flexed out of their mind keeping the dialogue fast-paced and modern to a degree I have never seen in anything, let alone a localization of another language. I've never seen anything like it. The narrative is relatively standard fare, but it's executed so well (again, huge credit to the voice cast and localizers) that you don't mind the little rom-com tropes, and find yourself suddenly very invested in these characters that otherwise wouldn't stand out in a lineup of rom-com tropes.

Personal Impression ᨳଓ
Waah I'm so in love with this anime!! I randomly found out about it today and directly completed the first season (can't wait to start the second one!! (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ ) I literally had the biggest smile on my face while watching it the whole time - it really brightened up my day. Suzuki and Tani heavily reminded me of my partner and me while being the same age as the characters which is very adorable!! ૮꒰ ˶• ༝ •˶꒱ა ♡
Artstyle ᨳଓ
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! The art style is super adorable ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡ I really love how they played with so many colors, styles and characteristics in the anime - the whole anime felt very lively and unique. It was so fun to watch and I didn't get bored by it at all!! I really loved the different hairstyles and outfits, especially…

I figured out why show is stands out among usual romcom - it's "great people being nice". Introverts helping extroverts, self-actualized helping the self-deprecating. Everyone talks, discusses and communicates in manner that improves that and make them better than before. Healthy friendship and relationships. And nice people are very hard to write without getting boring! It takes skill and experience.
All while having a great time, with gorgeous animations, hilarious gags and banging OP/ED.
There is a throughline of optimism that makes readers hope for the best for characters (and maybe themselves too) without coming off as those toxic positive bs. You only realize it after you finish watching it.
I highly recommend it to people who are jaded by life, current events or even current state…

My daughter is 9 and has autism, she seen me starting this show and instantly sat down next to me, she's never been interested in anime before, yet we simply sat and binged together. Anyway it taken us less than 24 hours to finish the entire series. Truly something I will cherish!
A basic rom com really, yet the fact I got to enjoy it with her made it special, loveable characters, I love the comedic animation and my daughter did too. A super easy watch, and apparently a good opener to anime if your kids are old enough to watch.
Our favourite character was the librarian who worked with Tani, she said it reminded her of herself.

It was ok that’s pretty much the idea of a female protagonist is quite nice and they didn’t take their time getting into the idea of relationships which I quite liked but unfortunately it was just those shows that I just had on in the background because it didn’t really do anything for me. It was fine. I could sit for a bit but it didn’t stand out but that might be because. Maybe they’re planning more than the future, but for now it was alright. You might like it. You might not it’s a bit bland but it’s something to watch.
Overall 6-10 rated fine as yeh it was fine

Even though the main couple get together quickly, it wasn't boring as they still have more progress as it went. Loved every second of it! All the characters are just muah! chefs kiss! All of them are fleshed out and interesting. Funny, I actually liked the FL in this. She is loud but not for the sake of it. She is observant and considerate. I don't find her cringe at all (I can tell the difference because I can actually name a few FLs who I actually find cringe...)
I binged this after not watching anime for a long time.
It's like Horimiya but feels a little younger. Even though Horimiya is also High Schools anime, the characters have more of a college feel. So this one feels younger but the story lines of the side characters (whether their friendship/budding romance or individually) in thi…

Who the hell is Gapacho?!
Overall very good romance
I'm down for a season 2.
The characters have a personality and change clothes every episodes!
It have a decent animation and a good voice acting despite the cast unknown.
There's movement in the background not just diaporamas.
It's good to finally be able to see this in the TV version of an anime and not and the Blu-ray one..
The humour is great we're not here for the comedy like '' nichijou'' but for the plot so it' s good enough It made me laugh several times
The romance goes on despite the fact that it's a shonen and not a shoujo and that's awesome!
The opening and the ending are awesome

I went into You & I Are Polar Opposites expecting a cute romcom to pass the time and somehow ended up binge watching the entire thing in basically one sitting. I genuinely did not expect to get this attached to the characters.
What really made this anime work for me was how normal everything felt. Not boring normal, but that awkward, youthful kind of normal where every little interaction feels huge. The series captures that nervous energy of teenage romance surprisingly well. The overthinking, random pauses in conversations, blushing over tiny things, pretending to act casual when your heart is going crazy... it all felt weirdly relatable.
Suzuki and Tani are honestly one of my favorite romcom pairings in recent years. The introvert guy + extrovert girl dynamic is something anime has don…

Seihantai na Kimi to Boku (You and I Are Polar Opposites) might be, by far, one of the most overrated anime of Winter 2026. Is it bad? Not necessarily, but it is certainly not deserving of the hype it receives. Ultimately, this is an average romcom, solely carried by its supporting cast and glazed by the community.
The narrative revolves around the standard "loner guy and popular girl" dynamic that we all know and love, primarily depicting the relationship between Tani and Miyu (the aforementioned couple) as they figure each other out and try to come to terms with their differences, hence the title of the show. Furthermore, the show explores other facets of human relationships through its side cast, following various pairings all under the theme of "opposites." While it possesses some dep…

Kinda boring, but I do have to give credit for actually making romantic progress and quickly.
I found myself more invested in the side characters and their relationships rather than the main couple.
The main girl is loud, cringe, and silly, which I don't mind too much. The beginning was hard to watch, but other than that, she was okay.
Her polar opposite is an apathetic loner guy who is an absolute bore to listen to with a monotone voice. Incredibly dull and barely qualifies as a character, other than occasionally blushing. The show would've been a home run if the author had put effort into the male lead instead of slapping together the most basic nothing guy to fill in the shoes of her polar opposite.
Funny enough, the author did write a character that fits the bill. Seriously, get rid…

If you are tired of watching rom-coms that take up to four seasons just to see the main characters hold hands or confess, congratulations, this anime is your oasis. There is no time-wasting back-and-forth drama here, because this series boldly lets its main characters get together right at the beginning of the story. The dynamic of a couple with polar opposite personalities like our MCs is indeed quite common, both in real life and in anime, but the execution here is spot on. Their character development from episode 1 to 12 feels natural, logical, engaging, and undeniably incredibly sweet.
Sometimes their interactions can feel a bit too sweet, but that is exactly the main charm and selling point of this series. Personally, I don't mind it at all because it is presented in such a highly e…

You and I Are Polar Opposites
The final episode perfectly ties into the story’s central theme—and I only fully realized it at the very end. This anime is, quite literally, about opposites attracting each other.
Suzuki, who has always been extroverted and popular, saw in Tani-kun someone genuinely kind and never cared about the social position he seemed to have in class.
Tani-kun, on the other hand, struggles with communication. Yet throughout the story he grows and matures, doing everything he can to show Suzuki—the girl he loves—how special he truly is.
Yamada has always been popular and surrounded by girls. However, with Nishi he finds a completely different kind of relationship, and even gives up parts of his usual behavior so she can feel comfortable and grow alongside him.
Nishi,…

Main Characters are definitely the weakest part of the show. They don't really have any character development and are just stuck in the same loop throughout the show. The main male specifically is so bland its honestly hard to watch.
However, the side characters are fantastic and make watching this anime worth it. If you have time to kill its definitely a fun watch if you just ignore the main pairing.
With the main pairing being so bad, i have to give it a mixed... but the show honestly isn't that terrible as the previously mentioned side couples do get a lot of screen time.

You and I Are Polar Opposites is the kind of series that makes you wonder if the author had one idea… and then just kept hitting copy-paste until it became a full story.
You’ve got Suzuki and Tani, who are supposedly “opposites,” but after a while it just feels like two people stuck in the same conversation loop for eternity. Every interaction is like: misunderstanding → awkward pause → almost development → nope, reset. Congratulations, you’ve seen the entire show.
At some point, it stops being the characters’ fault and becomes yours for expecting progress from something this committed to standing still.
The romance doesn’t progress—it just jogs in place like it’s trying to hit a daily step goal without going anywhere. Emotional moments show up, look important for five seconds, and the…

3. This anime
This is a tier list of the best romance anime for me. Yeah. You and I Are Polar Opposites is an anime that feels both traditional and not; it plays around the tropes that we are familiar with, but gives them their own special spin, such as the "energetic gyaru girl" and the "quiet, calm and analytical guy", which is the MAIN PAIR.
I was really surprised at how they handled that calm guy, which is Yuusuke Tani. He's not just a blank sheet, not the usual boring copy paste character, but someone who actually has depth. The author actually built on the trope, and wasn't lazy. That said, some of his traits and the pieces of personality are SUBTLE. He isn't the only character that does this, but I feel like this is something that makes t…

You and I Are Polar Opposites proves that sometimes the most dangerous thing in a high school romance is not a love triangle, not dramatic heartbreak, but simply two teenagers trying to talk to each other without combusting from embarrassment. And somehow… that alone becomes ridiculously entertaining. The story opens with Suzuki, an extremely cheerful and expressive girl who tends to say things faster than the brain can process them, and Tani, a quiet and reserved boy who overthinks absolutely everything before speaking. The contrast is almost comically obvious. Loud sunshine meets professional overthinker. Social butterfly meets internal panic simulator. On paper it sounds simple. In execution? Somehow adorable, chaotic, and weirdly heartfelt at the same time. Watching Suzuki confidently…

It really ticks me off how much of the discussion and praise surrounding this anime revolves around how it "subverts" the much-maligned romcom cliché infamously known as The Misunderstanding™, which I do admit can sometimes be really damn grating (sometimes being the keyword here, I've read a couple of works that have done it masterfully, e.g. Bokura ga Ita and When The Day Comes). A lot of people have also pointed out how the main couple getting together at the end of the first episode is "totally refreshing and has never been done before!!" and this is supposedly what makes Polar Opposites — an anime that ticks every trope checkbox on the worksheet — the great show that it is. And to that I say: hell no.
Let's face it, nothing is original anymore. Every possible cliché has already been…

If I were to start with a little amusing signature, I'd say, "You and I are Polar Opposites was not on my 2026 bingo card." I had no intention to watch an anime that only serves to subvert tropes without any interesting dynamics other than the obvious implication of OPPOSITES ATTRACT. But with each continuous episode, there is something of value to find in this goofy, laidback romcom, with me even taking some time to read the manga chapters after the first few episodes to see where our progress leads us. This comfy little anime can be delightful for those who dislike those drama banters or any harem bait that most romance anime tend to go for.
I wouldn't say it's excellent, but it delivers one thing clear enough for the audience to try and give the anime a chance: it's a narrative theme t…

You and I are Polar Opposites is what I’d call shonen gem. No unnecessary fan service, no sexualization of minors, no love triangles or drama, just a very realistic and well written romance with one of the best romcom casts ever and gorgeous art. To be honest, this kind of restored my faith in Shonen romcoms because I’d long since written them off as just being mediocre at best, but Agasawa-sensei showed me there’s still some hope yet for Jump romance. It also helps that she’s a shoujo author by trade and brings a lot of that to this manga resulting in one of the best recent romances I’ve seen. I’d even go as far as to say it’s better than a certain romance from 2025 that everyone hyped up. This was such a fun and wholesome experience and if you’re looking for a good funny romance that you…
