*** My Melody & Kuromi *** Recently I had been seeing the toys, figurines and plushies of My Melody and Kuromi in stores. They are popular. I had no idea who they were until I saw this anime. The anime is amazing. Its so good I bought two surprise boxes, with characters from My Melody and Kuromi's world, as gifts. First of all the animation is incredible. It uses stop-motion animation. And everything in the show is so cute, perfect for children. And the story is also nice, I think even some adults will like it. I did. The characters are very likable even the villain, Kuromi, who for me stole the show. If I ever buy a figurine single character from the show, for my shelf, it will be Kuromi. I was blown away when I found out Wit Studio animated the show. Surprised as this show is so dif…

This show came out on my birthday last year, so I feel like it was a present for me. :D I really love the animation and the cute characters. Both Kuromi and Melody are among my favourite characters in this universe. They have their flaws and there even is some character development, especially in Kuromi's side, which was pretty cool. The story is simple but very enjoyable. The art style is top notch and totally fitting for the story. Also, the ending song by le sserafim is very memorable and quite addicting. All in all, I recommend this show for the vibes, whether you are a youngster or an adult. ^^ I believe that most people will enjoy the series, as it is quite short and simple. Give it a try ~

Oh to be a felt creature in Mariland snacking on sweets and drinking tea... Super cute show! I've never sat down and watched any Sanrio shows despite being aware of the line and thinking it's cute, but I'm very glad I gave this show a try. The stop motion animation is insanely charming and well done! This show made me laugh and tear up, but most importantly, I'd say it made me a fan of Sanrio! Will definitely be checking out more shows in the franchise. One thing I will say is that this show feels like it's paced more like a movie than a tv series. I initially thought this was planned as a movie before they were forced to chop it up into episodes, but there is one joke near the end that makes me think that's unlikely. Regardless, if you're interested in checking this out, I'd personally…

We've all heard of Hello Kitty, she's basically Sanrio's mascot. But she's not the only character they created. Sanrio made a ton of them, and the second most recognizable Sanrio mascot is a little hooded rabbit named My Melody. Originally created solely to be Sanrio's own take on Little Red Riding Hood and Hello Kitty's best friend, she became a popular character in her own right, to the point where she got several TV series focusing on her, mainly the Onegai My Melody anime. I did attempt to watch that, but I stopped after a rather off-putting scene in episode 5 and haven't gone back to it. In 2025, her 50th anniversary, it was announced that My Melody would be getting her own Netflix series...a stop motion series made by the guy who made stuff like My Little Goat and Pui Pui Molcar. Was…

A masterpiece, this has already become one of my favorite anime of all time! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time, as an art and animation enthusiast. The animation has an innovative style with a unique vibe, I've always loved stop motion and it's simply impossible not to like what they did in this anime, it's so fluid and detailed with a stunning color palette, Honestly, I wish there were at least one or two anime like this per season, just to break away from the norm of new anime. I had already watched Kuromi's Pretty Journey and all the seasons of Onegai My Melody before watching this one, as I have a soft spot for anime/manga with this kind of cute and pleasant theme (as much as my profile here on MAL might say otherwise). I was very excited when saw the trailer.…

My Melody and Kuromi are one the most well-liked mascots in Sanrio that derives in the universe of My Melody. It is a 12 episodic series which I honestly prefer it to be a movie rather than a series. But I thought the uniqueness of using stop motion made the show incredibly charming. As for the run down of this series, My Melody and Kuromi began with them managing their own cafe to appeal with everyone in Miraland. But of course, My Melody is winning while Kuromi is losing customers. Although Kuromi is mostly the antagonist in the first few episodes. As it goes on, a mysterious patisierre name, Pistachio seems to be plotting to ruin My Melody's sweet cafe in hopes to gain a special power that My Melody stole from him. To avoid spoilers, I leave it upto you to watch the series. There are…

I've been waiting on this forever! Honestly as a Kuromi girly i knew I would love this, but it was so much better than I could've imagined. I think any age could watch this and find it quite enjoyable. The plot and meaing of the show was perfect and really has you relating to the characters and how they feel. The characters themselves are so unique and special in their own way and you'll definitely find at least one that you deem your favorite! Another big factor is the stop motion animation. I find that so unbelieveably cool. I watched some behind the scenes videos about it and the sheer hard work and talent that goes behind making something like this is beautiful. Definitely recommend! :3

I was randomly browsing Netflix at night while i stumbled upon this show and despite being really tired i finished the whole thing in one sitting so keep in mind that this review is from someone who has never known my melody apart from seeing it on my sisters binders when i was a kid. Despite being obviously for kids this show can still be enjoyed by adults and despite picking a franchise that is very old you don't really need to know anything to get into it, the characters are simple but they have clear personalities and roles and still enjoyable to watch, the show itself is very easy to watch with each episode less than 15 min and despite the plot getting a little confusing towards the end it's pretty easy to follow the plot. Let's get onto my favorite bits, the animation is wonderful,…

I watched the first episode of Onegai My Melody a little bit ago for context... doesn't seem like the kind of thing I can enjoy that much at my age, without nostalgia. Though maybe I'll watch more of it later and be proven wrong. I've been curious about Kuromi for a while, as a staple cutesy-gothic character, and I've also enjoyed other Sanrio properties, namely Aggretsuko and Gudetama. I've been looking forward to the release of this project, as both a way to take a look at a more modern depiction of the characters and simply because I can really appreciate the style and hard work for stop motion as an art form. Between this and more Pokemon Concierge, stop motion has been involved with projects from fairly big franchises lately. Here, it was outright beautiful at times! Props to a lot o…
