Heroine? Saint? No, I'm an All-Works Maid (And Proud of It)!

Introduction

"I will become the world's most wonderful maid!" With her skirt fluttering in black and white, the girl shouted. Her name is Melody. A reincarnated former Japanese girl, she now pursues her dream in her new life, working as an all-purpose maid for a poor count's family in the kingdom of Théolas. When she makes it, even cheap tea turns into a luxury brew, and a dilapidated mansion is quickly restored to new! Cleaning, serving, hunting, DIY—leave it all to her and her powerful magic. Unbeknownst to Melody, this world is actually an otome game, and she is the most powerful and invincible heroine, the saint! Yet, she remains oblivious to this fact. Romance with handsome men? Attacks by the Demon Lord? Work comes first! A fantasy of misunderstood work that unknowingly shatters destiny! (Source: Seven Seas Entertainment)

It took me a while to figure out exactly what annoyed me so much about this anime, but by episode 8, I finally got it: the main character is almost criminally obtuse. I get that being stupid but pure of heart is apparently considered cute in Japan. It’s a major, major trope in anime comedy. But then why establish in the very first episode that Melody is a genius when, for the rest of the series, she seems utterly clueless about everything except being a maid? She’s the most powerful magic-user in the world, yet somehow she’s too dumb for that fact to even register. Worse, her intelligence seems to deteriorate with each episode. A lot. When she arrives at the academy with Luciana, she’s shunned by the other maids because of the household she serves. They all ask which household she belon…

Heroine, Saint, No, I'm an All Works Maid and Proud of It! does some interesting things as far as isekai go, such as having multiple reincarnated characters and diverging a decent amount from the typical otome isekai power fantasy. Outside of that, it's also very cute, comfy, and healing. It may be a power fantasy, but it's definitely one of the better and more interesting ones that actually sticks to the premise of the protagonist being a maid and really acknowledging and focusing on how things changed or were otherwise made different due to character actions alone makes it worth the watch for isekai fans.

A 2026 anime based on the light novel written by Atekichi and illustrated by Yukiko, this 12-episode fantasy-comedy adaptation was animated by EMT Squared and distributed by Crunchyroll. The story follows Melody, a reincarnated girl who carries a grand dream from her past life: to become the best maid in the world. Utilizing the magical powers she gained in this new universe, she sets out after her mother's death to continue fulfilling her dream. However, Melody is completely unaware that she is trapped inside an otome game, ending up turning all its dynamics upside down. Technically speaking, the animation, character design, and soundtrack are very standard for the genre. There is nothing inherently bad about them, but it doesn't take that extra step to become a truly unique story. The p…

At first it seems like it’s going to be a pretty bog-standard otome game isekai, but with a maid in it. If that’s your only concern, no need to worry, Melody likes to keep her head down, so she doesn’t become the center of adoration or accumulate a harem, reverse or otherwise. Instead, two other characters engage in a wild goose chase to try and figure out where the heroine is and who’s causing all these events to diverge from the game narrative. It’s pretty fun to watch, and when nothing’s going on, Melody and Luciana are cute enough to keep your interest. Still, it doesn’t quite deliver on everything it could. Some of this is clearly because this is only the first section of an ongoing light novel series, and it does tease some characters and plot points that can’t be part of this cour.…

Today, I finished Heroine? Saint? No, I'm an All-Works Maid (and Proud of It)!. It was overall a cute, light, and fun show to watch for this season, but that's about everything that it has going for it. The way the overarching plot and worldbuilding was written, felt more like a children's storybook, though you could say that's a style choice. The direction is very bland, and I feel like LN to Anime translation was not done so well. There were portions where there wasn't any dialogue and there was simply a narrator explaining stuff, which I personally never like. Likewise, the animation was always very limited, though the pretty art quality made up for it. Overall, 6/10 – Fine.

I take a lot of pride in what I watch. I make sure to watch mature shows or shows that are clearly made for me. Shonens, actions, comedies... Those sorts of genres. I always knew I wish I gave Isekai more of a chance but this is way different. In fact I even enjoyed this a lot more than I even realized. Like it's even embarrassing to admit this but this just gives me pure joy. A perfect way to describe this, a fun adorable Isekai with a game gimmick. It's cute and even at times funny. The sweetness of this anime just simply cannot be put in words. I like to see this as anime that you could turn your brain off and just enjoy the story. It's got fun characters, witty dialogue and even an easy to follow plot. I guess my biggest criticism is how too shallow it became in the end but you know i…

This anime has Melody Wave as a protagonist, and as you can guess, she is a maid. So for many people coming in, they would expect the series to focus on that. Well, that is really not the case as much as the series is about. It turns out this world is an isekai where not just Melody but two other characters are reincarnated. To be put it quite simpley this is a shameless anime made to promote the source material. Around episode 3 is the actual hook that I find quite good which I stated earlier. The issue is after this episode the pacing of the show takes a nosedive. Even worse is that the ending of this season feels unsatisfying. The twist of this being an isekai is good and has lots of potential. The issue is that it has the OP protagonist aspect of isekais and it does not work well her…

One of the best new isekai anime series this season. It is a maid power fantasy and I loved every single minute of it. it is not a perfect show, but what it brings is nonetheless quite enjoyable. Animation and music - industry standard. Animation is good and fluent, but you can tell that they have saved frames here and there. Music is also standard one with the exception of OP song which is rap instead of standard song. Overall: animation and music are solid enough to be enjoyable. Nothing bad but nothing good as well. Characters - there is a lot of them and most of them are quite enjoyable. First thing to note is that this is isekai, but with a twist that main heroine does not know that. Melodie is your standard goody-goody two shoes young lady that has a wish to become the best maid…

All Works Maid is a gem, it takes the increasingly common genres of Saintess and Otome Game, smashes them together and then takes things in directions that you would not expect. We've already seen landmarks in the Otome Game subgenre that have looked to redefine it, and All Works Maid will likely leave its mark as well. It is easy for a series to simply follow the herd, it's why we get so many trash isekai, yet to stand out and do something different, that is more difficult and we don't see it often because it can go badly wrong, after all tropes exist because they work. So I will always applaud a series that seeks to do something different and wants to stand out. Obviously this is a comedy and the plot reflects that. A girl who is the illegitimate daughter of a noble household sets off a…

All Works Maid – A straight man (or girl in this case) as a reincarnator with love for maids...but doing all the stereotypical hero/heroine tasks in the most bizarrely complex of ways??? It's safe to say that the fantasy genre can be anything you want, even if you have to rack up the disbelief that the Isekai subplot will always or undoubtedly find itself meshed together with the story, in more ways than one, up to the imagination. Well...the adverse effect can sometimes be true, that the premises seem simple on the surface, but dig deeper into its iceberg, and you'll find quite the complex case of "Who's who and whoever dunnit" in the first place. That seems to be the modus operandi for novelist Atekichi, whose last season's Kanteishi (Kari) was not just one of Spring 2026's worst anime,…
