"Rich Girl Caretaker" is a really hard anime to enjoy. It has everything at the start to be a decent romance anime, but it forces its plot into a bunch of small arcs surrounding a small harem of other women from the school that all get really little development since this is all forced within the last 6 episodes of a 12 episode season. This completely makes the development that happens in this anime fall really flat, since it has nowhere near the amount of development it should for these romance interests at all, at least for you to have any real care about their lives and their thoughts on the male MC. Moreover, it just is paced horribly, to the point where I wouldn't doubt someone that periodically skipped through the episodes, would fully understand the plot. The pacing is both obnoxi…

I saw the trailer a while ago and it piqued my interest enough to give it a shot. As for the main character, Itsuki is surprisingly decent; he actually gets good character development and picks things up quickly. Among the main heroines, Mirei is easily my favorite. She’s better than Hinako in every way she has a richer personality, a strong desire to support Itsuki, and top-tier chemistry with him. Narika gets solid growth too, working hard to open up to her classmates while excelling in sports. Hinako, on the other hand, falls completely flat. She comes off as bossy and annoying, to the point where I think the show would be way better if Mirei were the main FMC. The plot itself is decent, but it neglects its supporting cast. I wish we had seen more depth regarding Hinako's parents an…

Started with an interesting premise, but around halfway through it began leaning fully into the harem angle. To the point where it feels like one of those adaptations of a romance VN with very obvious arcs for each love interest. And that makes no sense because the source is a LN. It felt pretty unnatural and I'm not exactly sure what they were going for here. Main heroine barely even gets any development in the second half. Pretty disappointed by the pivot and wish I had known it was gonna be a harem going into it; this anime really should have the harem genre tag.

not the best romcom this season, but still entertaining and gives you few good laughs! the premise is pretty cliche, and you can guess the plot easily. and story offer nothing special, but this isn’t a bad anime, at least not makes you unable to finish it. the MC actually pretty interesting and likeable, unlike some other harem MC. he’s also pretty green flag. for the heroines, they’re basic heroines with shallow writings, but i love how the anime distributed the screentime and “attention” to each heroine! it’s fair and you just can’t guess which one is the favorite heroine. with this fair amount of screentime for each heroine, the MC can explore the romance with all of them. but the romance writing wasn’t the best, it felt like it’s lack something. but the comedy still okay and in some sc…

I have been searching for a way to read this legally for months. This is literally the type of romcom that I would love to read, especially the LN. I'm sad to announce that I couldn't find any legal way to read it. Welp, at least I could watch it legally, unlike some others. How did I find this? Twitter/X doomscrolling. I saw the anime AND LN ending announcement. (I might be wrong. It might be a new volume release announcement. I forgot; I'm not too sure.) I saw the main girl, and I went, "Mahiru???", but nope, that wasn't her. 😂 Appealing (Why did I get into the anime?) The girls. They have a very appealing design, and I'm glad I watched it because the character is genuinely fun to watch. Platform Aniplus Asia (Southeast Asia), Aniplus TV (South Korea), Bahamut Anime Crazy (Taiwan),…

A great romance show with a lot of intimate parts that don't just fully rely on fan-service , its truly a well executed way of showing what a relationship should look like within 2 people , all the main characters do an amazing job at feeling real sometimes even giving you deja-vu from experiences you might have had yourself . The characters are also smart and perceptive in their own ways while still having to deal with their own struggles . Hinako is especially a really interesting character that carries the show hard. The single problem would be the elevated pace towards the end of the show , the last few episodes felt a bit rushed and seemed to skip a few important parts , especially the last episode was really rushed (overall the shows pacing felt great its just the last bit , it som…

Alright, so I finally finished Rich Girl Caretaker last night after bingeing the last few episodes on a random Tuesday when I had nothing better to do. Gave it a solid 7/10 overall. It’s one of those shows that doesn’t reinvent the wheel or anything, but I genuinely had a good time with it from start to finish. The premise is pretty straightforward: ordinary high school guy Itsuki ends up as the secret caretaker for Hinako, this super popular rich girl from one of those massive Japanese conglomerates after they get tangled up in a kidnapping together. On paper it sounds like every other “poor guy gets thrown into rich girl world” setup, but the way it plays out felt a bit fresher than I expected. Hinako’s whole deal -perfect, elegant young lady in public, absolute disaster who can barely…

What makes this romance so refreshing is how it takes the usual school setting and throws it into this ridiculous world of ultra-rich students, yet still feels surprisingly wholesome. It's a fun change of pace, but what I enjoyed most is how much the series focuses on the characters outside of the romance. Itsuki spends plenty of time with Hinako, Mirei, and Narika, and each of them develops a meaningful relationship with him. He's not just helping them through their problems either, as they also have a noticeable influence on his own growth. That balance between romance, character development, and friendship is what makes this harem so enjoyable, and seeing the four of them grow together is easily the most endearing part of the series.

This kind of feel like a Hayate copycat but worse. It's hard not to draw the parallels if you've ever read or watched Hayate. The show doesn't do anything special. The characters' personalities are awkward. Everything has a hint of forced, not too overtly, but the story did not unfold neatly, and characters did not develop organically. And this leads to nowhere. The romance is hinted, but the story torpedoed into a love triangle, well, beyond that, with every FMC developing interests in the MC. None of them are done well, all have some different hints of forced, some better than the others. On top of that, trying to fit that many things into 12 episodes meant none of them felt anywhere genuine, while the show itself paced horribly, wasting a ton of screen time jumping between mini-arcs l…

A romcom anime that reminds me of "Himouto! Umaru-chan", especially because its female characters have alter egos that are almost 180° different when they're in public compared to when they're alone or just being themselves. The anime also adds a bit of drama and surprisingly good character development. There are definitely some cliché or generic moments, but the characters continue to develop rather than going in circles. The heroines are also quite unique, with each of them having different backgrounds, personalities, and personal struggles. This makes the MC's relationship with each heroine feel different and gives their interactions their own dynamic instead of repeating the same pattern. The romance does develop quite slowly, especially because the MC and the heroines come from ver…

The “caretaker” strand of romcoms has exploded in popularity as of late, thanks overwhelming popularity of shows like Bokuben and Quintessential Quintuplets, and it’s difficult not to feel at least some amount of fatigue regarding it if you’re actively keeping up with modern releases. Because of this, my expectations for this show were quite low, but to my surprise it managed to do just enough to make it a worthwhile watch. While it’s still ultimately a fairly standard modern romcom, with limited progression and more emphasis on hijinks and mini arcs focusing on individual characters rather than an overarching plot, it’s willing to ground itself to more compelling overarching themes and the cast has enough chemistry to keep it entertaining throughout. This is mostly thanks to this not re…

This was nice little romance anime, but romance is only scratching the surface. The true theme is creating new bonds and helping people overcome their short sightedness. And I am glad that most people saw it as a good show despite Gigguk outright lying about what it is about in his Summer 2026 video. Animation and music: decent. Animation is of standard quality, nothing bad but nothing great either. Music fits in the same area, nothing outright but but no memorable tracks. But in certain scenes it can definitely shy and it really shows here. Overall - animation and music are quite decent but nothing revolutionary or amazing. If anything it makes the show enjoyable. Characters: This is a little sketchy area becasue the ones who carry this show so far are not the main duo but the secondar…

Rich Girl Caretaker isn't going to set the world on fire, but aside from a slightly rushed finale and a few rough spots, it's a decently pleasant watch for harem fans. Well.. actually, it depends. The designated main girl, Hinako, is going to be a major sticking point for a lot of viewers. She's demanding, frequently useless, kinda bratty... Put simply, she's a pain in the ass. It's meant to be endearing. It's meant to be a kind of archetype that fulfills a specific romantic fantasy. The fact that she is such a pain in the ass is not some kind of writing mistake, it is a core part of her appeal. It's meant to make the inevitable romantic development even more enjoyable. I would argue it mostly works. Heck, I would argue it's one of the only things that really makes Rich Girl Caretaker…

Back in 2015 there was an underrated anime called Shomin Sample released, it's worth talking about Shomin Sample for reasons that will come apparent A Commoner (the Commoner Sample) finds himself at an ultra elite school for girls, it is a ridiculous premise that it heavily leans into resulting in a harem comedy anime with plenty of references to different anime and cultural memes, it's ecchi, there are muscles, our MC alters the lives of the sheltered rich girls for the better, including helping one awkward girl make friends. Oh and should our MC show any interest in any of the girls, he risks losing his manhood, so he best keep liking those muscles. So, here we have Rich Girl Caretaker, where a commoner finds himself at an ultra elite school for the rich, where it's a harem romance, and…

I really didn’t expect rich girl caretaker to be as good as it was. I fully came into this expecting another angel next door spoils me rotten incel wish fulfillment slop story and it ended up being one of my favorite romcoms of all time? Your mileage may vary, but for me, this ticked every box. Amazing character development, no over the top fan service, an MC who you can actually understand having a harem, girls who are more than just objects for the MC to collect and actually have well developed personalities, traits and character arcs. It definitely has some wish fulfillment stuff going on, but the MC is actually a genuinely amazing dude who goes out of his way to help people and grows in the process. The show’s funny as hell, wholesome, got some nice romantic moments and it’s just a fun…

Rich Girl Caretaker is a pretty fun and enjoyable anime with a simple story, good comedy, and likable characters. The character designs are one of the stronger parts of the anime. Each character matches their personality which i really enjoyed. The comedy is very enjoyable in my opinion for this anime. Most of the humor is simple, but is still very entertaining. The main characters are interesting enough to keep the story moving, and the relationships between them have some nice and sweet moments. There is a good balance between comedy and more serious scenes. One of the main problems is the pacing. Some parts feel rushed especially when it focused on narikas part, I was a little dissapointed that they didnt take their time. Especially when tomonari and narika went to the arcade in the l…

Every season, there are one or two romance anime that people expect to dominate the conversation. Then there's the occasional show that quietly slips under everyone's radar and somehow ends up being the one you can't stop thinking about. Saijou no Osewa was that anime for me. I went in expecting another generic "rich girl and ordinary guy" rom-com. Instead, I found one of the most charming, wholesome, and genuinely addictive romance series I've watched in years. The premise sounds simple enough: a capable boy becomes the caretaker of the academy's most famous and seemingly perfect young lady. It isn't exactly groundbreaking on paper, but the execution is what elevates it so far above its peers. The biggest strength of this series is its chemistry. Itsuki and Hinako don't carry the sho…
