As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I'll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World

Introduction

After passing away, a Japanese office worker finds himself reincarnated in another world as Ars, the newborn son of the noble Louvent family. The Summerforth Empire, where the Louvents rule over a small territory of a few thousand people, is a medieval-like land plagued by social inequality and political instability. As Ars grows older and learns more and more about his new environment, he becomes convinced that war will soon erupt. Fortunately, though Ars was not blessed with unrivaled strength or extraordinary magical aptitude, he does possess Appraisal: a seemingly unique skill that allows him to instantly grasp someone's current abilities and latent talents merely by looking at them. In an effort to prepare his domain for the imminent strife, Ars resolves to enlist the most exceptional people he can find, paying no attention to superficial qualities like race or social status. So i missed this anime when it aired and i heard its season 3 is coming so i thought i might have missed a decent one and boy i was wrong. Don't get me wrong i can handle a bad anime, as a matter of fact most isekai anime these days are trash and i accept them with open arms, and even this anime has plenty of things done right. But that MC, i absolutely despise that guy, i mean how incompetent a guy can get? MC was supposed to be a working adult before overworking himself to death but this anime completely forgets its an isekai after the first episode. And what about progression? The MC grows from being an infant to a teenager himself and he doesn't grow in any aspect of his life, not even his height grows. Only thing going for this guy is a dumb skill he got from birth and daddy's money,…

Another typical isekai. This show is just another watch. I am surprised it's destined for three seasons as of writing... so I binged the first in one go. So far, it's another filler watch in a season. Entertaining to some extent but will never go beyond a 7 compared to some actually great shows. It's sometimes not always about watching the best things, you got to take some good with the bad. This one is incredibly average leaning more on the better side of that coin. This show reminds me a lot of reincarnated as a slime with its talent recruitment and politics, but it lacks kind of everything else. It doesn't do anything wrong and it keeps in line with its gimmick that the mc is incredibly mediocre, but his gift allows him to surround himself with talented people. It's average as I've…

Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru easily deserves a 7/10, and for me a solid 8/10. First of all, this is not really an isekai. The only trait the MC has is a mind of an adult man inside a child body. I would say that the reincarnation theme is the only one that should be here and everyone who looks for something like: "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom" where the main character uses modern knowledge to its full potential; should not excpect it in here. Secondly, this anime is really well made. The animation is expressive and fluid. There are a lot of frames and for example, horses are fully animated, not like in these "Isekai slop" titles. In quick fights every frame is animated, from the first punch to the moment of enemy lying on the ground. Scenery is full and I couldn't f…

It was enjoyable but not much appeal, with few bright colors and mediocre artstyle. It all starts slow and things that should be exciting don't have have that punch. It makes you itch for a bigger impact. The power to see people's abilities is unique to the MC and nobody else seems to have an equal gift of sorts. I do get supportive of the characters relationships. There was only one gruesome moment and it was a great representation. Something akin to The 7 Kingdoms i guess, but really not much excitement. I'd say it's a slice-of-life, romance, combat strategy novel.

Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru While the concept of using an appraisal skill to build a powerful domain offers immense potential for strategic world-building, Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru ultimately falters under the weight of logical inconsistencies and shallow writing. Instead of a deeply realized medieval society, the narrative presents a series of convenient plot points, superficial socio-economic themes, and a jarringly naive protagonist. For viewers expecting tactical depth akin to historical military fantasies, this adaptation delivers a predictable experience driven entirely by plot armor rather than genuine strategy, making the underlying world feel artificial and unconvincing. The depiction of serious societal issues, such as poverty and the slave trade, la…

This show is frankly, uninspired. The story and plot itself is fine, nothing special, and could have been great in the right hand, but this just wasn't it. The crux of the problem is the production quality. It's not the bottom of the barrel, but you can tell that there was neither effort nor care. The characters are cliche in dialog and emotion, the story felt more like a checklist of items to be done up to some specifications. Not a single ounce of care was put in to polish anything. Characters were given barebone development. They're unrealistic, not even in the anime sense. Everything just felt forced and uncanny. Plots are just laid out one after another, even within its own plot. The tone of the production is a complete mismatch with the tone of the story. Every character acts with…

So we're into an anime set on the brink of major conflict and civil wars. Empires basically and all that jazz. Into this world our MC, with a special skill to appraise people, manages to acquire George Prime as his first star of destiny and promptly follows that up with Jeane too. Oh wait that's Suikoden. In hindsight yes that's kind of what it reminded me of personally. You've gained the ability to see peoples skills and acquire them as part of army to win the war. Not a lot of conflict in the first season of this anime itself as it spends most of the time in the recruitment phase and growing up. Like many others I don't think it needed to be a Isekai as it doesn't take any advantage from that. It seems that's it's his older self that justifies his own justification that he just wants…

So, what’s the point of this anime show? Thing begin as a bog-standard isekai story, then develops into something truly remarkable from 2nd to 7th episodes, and then, the story goes downhill from 8th till the end of 12th episodes. Only at the last 5 minutes of the 12th episode they remember that was the story of the rise of a great leader, not the comic story of a socially awkward suck-up. When one looks at the progression of the anime, the story begins as any isekai, then develops into something that really touches the heart till the end of episode 7, and it’s downhill from there onwards, and that is truly puzzling. It is as if people who wrote great episodes between 2 and 8 seem to have suddenly left and another group that were told to write something comedic, with no point to prove, and…

This is one of the stories that shouldn't have been an isekai in the first place. Who is our protagonist? a 35 year old man, who died while working overtime and was reborn as a young noble. You would expect an MC with this backstory to be more mature, right? or atleast bring some knowledge from the previous world and apply it to his current life? no. Apparently, when he was reborn, his mentality was reset too. He acts like any other kid in a shounen. It's isekai for the sake of isekai His bond with the other characters is nice to watch, and the politics can be interesting sometimes (Not all the time because, again, it's all his subordinates not him. He doesn't do anything besides use his bocchan cuteness to recruit strong people) So, if this had been a normal historical-fantasy story,…

Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru is one of those isekai series that may seem simple at first glance, but ends up offering a surprisingly enjoyable and refreshing experience thanks to its focus on strategy, leadership, and character-driven progression. One of the strongest aspects of the season is the protagonist’s ability itself. Rather than relying on overwhelming power or constant battles, the story revolves around his “appraisal” skill, which allows him to recognize talent in others. This creates a satisfying dynamic where growth comes not only from personal strength, but from building a capable team and learning how to lead. It gives the anime a more grounded and thoughtful tone compared to many other fantasy reincarnation stories. The worldbuilding is also quite engaging. In…

Classic Isekai premise, japanese salaryman dies due to stress and is reincarnated into a noble family. As the name implies, his unique "cheat skill" is that of appraisal: He can determine numerical values for the current and maximum capabilities of individuals in various aspects of life, mostly pertaining to personality traits and combat potential. It is not so much a cheat skill as a unique skill, and he cannot use it on himself. As a noble, he proceeds to slowly accrue a valuable set of retainers and earn the respect of his subjects, family, retainers, and even other nobles. The main crux of the show is him dealing with political tensions and a brewing war. Watch the show for more details. The show is a solid piece, and definitely has some interesting potential. There are a few concept…

Mannn, I really enjoyed Mireille and Charlotte’s characters. Their attitudes and that laid-back demeanor just hit different—they’re so casually great it’s amazing. Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru is honestly one hell of an anime. I know for most people it’s probably a 7, and I can see why, but for me it’s a solid 9. What I really loved was how it focused on the MC’s retainers almost more than the MC himself. But that doesn’t mean the MC’s development was neglected—far from it. The balance felt intentional and refreshing. And iyahhhhhh, don’t even get me started on the MC’s dad. Out of the 440+ anime I’ve watched, it’s rare that a side character manages to make me tear up. They fleshed him out so well, really made him feel like a father. That level of emotional depth hit me hard.…

I debated over giving this "Mixed" or "Not Recommended", but the fact that I basically was letting the last episode play through on secondary monitor while browsing the internet (I don't do that with good anime) to just "get it over with", made me re-think a lot about how I felt about this anime. I will give this 5/10, mostly because I think it has some good parts, so you should watch it and make up your own mind, but still "Not Recommend" it to balance it out, cause I can. And now, the extended edition of the review: ----------------- ----------------- The MC has gotten worse as the anime progressed. It's almost like the writer was planning to make the MC "grow" into a man with all of the drama about him learning how to fight, take responsibility and adjust mentally to the reality of…

I wasn't expecting ANYTHING from this anime, but I was so surprised! At first, the pacing bothered me a bit. I thought the anime would spend too much time focusing on the protagonist gathering talents rather than actually focusing on the story itself. Fortunately, this wasn't done as heavily as I thought it would be, and it managed to hold my interest from start to finish. The protagonist is a bit annoying because of his cowardice, but it's not as bad as what we see from other cowards in anime. He's fearful, but he still steps up to the plate, doesn't shy away from his responsibilities, and doesn't show it in a way that distrusts him. The character's development is slowly unfolding, but in this first season, we see it more focused on his emotional strength than on other aspects. However,…

I have to say, this show is a breath of fresh air in the isekai fantasy genre. There are alot of things I enjoy about this that it does that go beyond what most similar shows do. It also does some things that other kingdom building/management isekai don't do. There are many things things i enjoyed about this anime, way to many to list in fact. Allow me to highlight a few things I enjoyed about the show: 1. The MC isn't op. The MC relies on his subordinates in order to help him accomplish his goals. They are much stronger then he is. 2. The show is progressive since it portrays a black supporting character in a positive way. Feels nice to see inclusion in an anime. 3. Strong female cast. Another thing I love about this anime is the female characters are actually written well and aren't j…

Watched on: 28-29 March 2025 This is truly a departure from the other run-of-the-mill isekai anime--where the protagonist becomes overpowered with some ridiculous form of magic or strength. Here, the MC is not endowed with exceptional power, strength, or magic; rather, his single and only power is the ability to "appraise" one another person's talent. (Of course, do not worry, as it is not a spoiler since this gets revealed right at Episode 1.) The narrative instills the action of how the MC deploys his subtle skill into a bright and strategic move, surviving in a world full of political friction and war. Instead of brute force, he proves himself worthy with intelligence, planning, and talent scouting. What makes it unique is the fresh way that it takes - this is not your traditionally…

Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru had no right to be an Isekai anime, his reincarnation served no purpose to the plot and I think actually detracted from the story itself, if this was actually about a 12 year old in a fantasy world having to step up after the untimely demise of his father and using the skills he has to prevail I think it would've been quite a good show, but every time you remember Ars is actually forty-seven mentality and not twelve, well it will really make you think what the eff am I watching. There are literal children in world and amongst his retainers that act with more maturity and common sense than your forty seven year old MC.

There is technically a plot, but there is hardly conflict and no surprises. Everything is resolved exactly as the MC wants it with no challenge. It feels like the plot was written with "and then" repeatedly. The characters are largely shallow with only a single dimension to them. A smart character. A strong mage. The fighter. That and the fact that they all love the MC. The MC has no real personality. Just a plain person with an overpowered ability and being born rich enough to use their op skill to amass power Oh and there a bunch of side characters that show up for one episode, do nothing, try to make us care about them and then just disappear forever. The animation feels cheap and stilted. Many of the action scenes are just shaking still images with sound.

A wise man once said, "We have more military power and money than them." BUT "That doesn't mean much if the one leading them is incompetent." Guess who ;). Aside from this very obvious part that everybody keeps complaining about, I really love the uniqueness of this anime. It kind of reminded me of another isekai anime of a guy who have no powers but only OpP because he is a great commander (psst he have a smartphone that check soldier stuff...) Going back I hopr the author allow all this childishness and immaturity to happen only to build him up. This story is promising I look forward to how it will develop.

Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru, is an anime that is quite a bit better than the average Isekai you'll see every anime season these days, but it's certainly not without it's fair share of flaws. On the whole it's an alright show that you might like if you don't take it's story too seriously or go into it with high expectations. The short version is, you'd probably like this as a side watch as it works very well as simple entertainment but can't give you too much more as it does a decent job but doesn't excel at anything it does either. Starting things off with the premise and story, and on the whole it's actually not half bad but certainly has it's fair share of flaws. The Isekai portion of it is a gimmick at best and has basically no purpose or point to the story. If you watch…
