Introduction
In the kingdom of Girtonia, the Adenauer family has been giving birth to saints for centuries. Two sisters form the newest generation of holy women who protect the lands from monsters and calamities. The eldest, Philia, is considered a prodigy in the field, capable of solving any problem in no time. Meanwhile, the youngest, Mia, is not as extraordinary as her older sister but has charmed the entire country with her lovely personality. Despite their striking differences, Philia and Mia share an unbreakable bond.
Sadly, Mia is the only person who truly cares for Philia. Because of Philia's expressionless face and aloof demeanor, their parents always scold her, and the citizens complain about her. Moreover, Julius Girtonia, the second prince and Philia's fiancé, would rather have a more amicable girl as his wife-to-be. For that reason, he cancels the engagement and sells Philia off to the neighboring kingdom, Parnacorta, which has recently lost its own saint.
Having no say on the matter, Philia immediately goes to serve Parnacorta. As a foreigner, she presumes that she will not be treated much better than in Girtonia. Contrary to her expectations, Philia might have finally found a place with people worth smiling for.

FMC lacks life and is so soulless (from the beginning). For me, her behavior is good. As this type of character, I like it when the MC knows what's going on around him and is above the matter. He takes everything too personally. They fired me, so it must be because I'm incompetent (so you know who to call), he doesn't really care about what the real reason is and that's how he thinks about most things. On the other hand, her sister is too overmotivated and takes everything too emotionally and doesn't want to take advice from others, who have really good ideas on how to get out of the evil kingdom. For me, it's unnecessarily dramatic at some points.
I like the plot, even though they started it pretty late with the demons, I was expecting it to be a classic halfway through, that there would…

A show with an interesting premise but a flat results.
A lead with little to offer personality-wise, and much of the supporting cast to match. Philia is, as the title suggests, a "too-perfect saint": someone who does her job so well that people dislike her, mainly due to the fact that she is aloof and cannot smile.
It seems an odd way to treat the person saving the country from both monsters and failed crops. It is not as though the public, the royalty, or even her own family cannot see all she does; they know full well, yet still unreasonably dislike her to a comical degree. Oh, and of course, she is sold to and rescued by a prince from a neighbouring country, where everyone now adores her. I mean they really love her, constantly hugging her and worshipping the ground she walks on. A st…

The pacing of the story is great—episodes fly by before you know it, making for a fantastic viewing experience.
As a dual-narrative story, the secondary plotline is handled well, with seamless switching and clean integration between the two lines.
The cast is another strong point: the protagonists are multi-dimensional and extremely likable.
Their interactions feel completely natural and often bring a smile to your face.
However, the villains are a bit weakly developed, so character clashes aren't really the main focus of the show.
On the audio side, the opening and ending themes have a relaxed rhythm that fits the overall tone of the anime perfectly.
That said, a few voice acting performances are so distinct that they occasionally pull you out of the experience.

So you know those WebToon/CDramas where the evil fiancée screws over the main character and marries her little sister instead? And how the little sister is always either evil or the most oblivious person known to man?
Yeah, what if instead of that, the little sister just decided to ruin his life in every way imaginable to avenge her sister’s honor, pretending to be into him while plotting his downfall, along with everyone who was involved with it?
That would be great, right?
Honestly, I’m so glad I stuck with Too-Perfect Saint. The main character has a very sweet subplot about learning to love herself and heal from the abuse she went through, and that’s nice and all, but watching her little sister slowly destroy all of the horribly hateable villains is where this really shines. I loved…

It’s good, although at first glance the way the characters’ emotions are portrayed can feel a bit over the top: either full of love or pure hatred. I think, however, that this was intentional, meant to highlight the two main themes the anime wanted to convey:
1. the destructive jealousy of others’ abilities and its consequences;
2. finding the courage within oneself to face challenges bigger than one’s own insecurities.
There’s some action, but it’s clear from the start that a happy ending is guaranteed, which I see as a plus - otherwise the anime might have felt too heavy, considering the main character’s family background.
Of all the characters, I liked the heroine’s sister the most - a clever girl with a strong personality. I didn’t feel much connection with the others, though.
As…

The Too-Perfect Saint initially struck me as having a set of antagonists that were too cartoonishly evil and stupid, but then I remembered that I live in America in 2025 and everything started feeling uncomfortably familiar. The shortsightedness of selling off the most valuable asset your kingdom has out of pure spite and greed, the unwillingness to admit wrong after it blows up in your face, and the desperation to claw back the people who made your country function and even blame them for what happened once they were gone felt disquietingly relevant. In contrast, our main character’s life in her new kingdom and the kindness and gratitude shown to her by its citizens finally allows her the time and mental bandwidth to develop the aspects of her personality that she had been neglecting for…

It has a simple story,
but the direction is very balanced, making it the best anime of 2025.
I've watched it five times over.
The final episode is the climax,
but for me the climax was the scene where her master and her sister talk.
Pay attention to their expressions and voices.
The performances of both voice actors are also top-notch.
Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up?
yes unique, Do you think the art style is fitting for the story?
good,
Were the characters well-rounded? Did they have flaws and strengths, or were they unusually strong/smart/stupid?
yes,
Did the characters react to situations and events in a realistic way?
yes
Do you think others will enjoy/dislike this series, even if you didn't? Why?
enjoy

This anime has attractive visuals and a premise that initially looks promising, but the execution feels underwhelming. The heroine’s emotionless personality isn’t portrayed as “cool” or “mysterious” — she simply lacks presence, yet is constantly praised by everyone around her. Instead of feeling convincing, it ends up feeling hollow.
The romance also falls flat. The supposed chemistry between the lead pair never really lands, and most of the sweeter lines feel empty rather than meaningful. I went in expecting a stronger emotional payoff, but the story stays safe and never fully commits to deeper development.
Overall, it’s pretty to look at but doesn’t deliver the impact I hoped for.

I honestly thought this was going to be another throwaway fantasy drama with a dramatic title and nothing more, but it turned out to have a lot more heart than I expected. The story has a surprising amount of depth, especially in how it handles the bond between Philia and Mia. Their relationship feels real and full of care, guilt, and understanding. It’s a nice change from the usual shallow sister dynamics you see in similar shows.
Philia’s growth is slow but believable. You can really see her learning to understand her emotions and open up little by little. What really stood out to me though was Mia. The way she realizes how blind she’s been to her sister’s pain and then dedicates herself to making things right gives her story so much emotional weight. It’s not often you see that kind of…

An anime about a saint that has been treated very badly by a lot of people that should have actually cared for her a lot, but because that's what she always knew she didn't find it strange, ultimately being sold to another place in which she starts finding out about how life actually should be and how she should have been treated.
At least that's half of the story, the other half follows her little sister that is still left in the place the saint was sold from and her finding out about what happened to her big sister and wanting to take revenge... which tbh, it is the better and more fun to watch part of the story.
The story is finished in this season, and for what I've read online, it covered until the light novels ended as well. It was okayish at first, but near the end it kinda starte…

Overall, I loved how the story went, the bond between sisters was very refreshing. I am so used to plots where one is evil - but I really appreciated this change. I also loved how the romance between the FL and the ML, were not the main focus of this series - but made it canon by the end of it.
I fully recommend this anime to those who want a heartwarming and wholesome anime about family and friends - where the FL is used to the coldness of everyone around her, which made love and kindness become foreign to her - but slowly realizing that she can be loved. It was truly a satisfying anime to watch <3

The plot is quite simple, but it's what makes me like it so much, for the fact that it has a plot. Yes, you can predict it quite early on, but it's still very well executed, and that's what made me stop so much from drawing to be locked into the show.
I picked up the webnovel and was surprised to see the difference in the storyline of them both (they both end the same, it's just the middle that's changed). But I must say that I like the change of plot that was made.
It's a very pleasant watch, and definitely a nice break from shows with a similar premise. There's no fan service or pushing romance, just a nice and well-paced plot.

I just want to say you should not watch this expecting a cute romance. I also think what little romance subplot this show did try and force in should have been taken out. That being said I'm the last person to complain about a show having LESS romance in it than expected but to have the best experience, you should not expect romance. I was originally expecting something more similar to The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, which Does have a well done romance. But this one had a lot more politics, was focused mainly on overcoming trauma and abuse more than anything else. I think it was fairly good and I will be reading the manga if not the light novel as well. I think this anime could have been even better but for what it was I really liked it and do recommend it to anyone who is intereste…

The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom plays into the familiar trope of an overpowered character whose talents go unrecognized. Cast out of their homeland, they find true happiness elsewhere, while the original kingdom suffers for not appreciating them.
You’ve probably seen this storyline countless times, so much of the anime won’t feel particularly fresh. What sets this one apart, however, is the addition of the protagonist Philia’s younger sister, Mia. Normally in these types of stories, the little sister either contributes to the main character’s misery or is left on the sidelines. Here, Mia is neither, she’s central to the narrative.
Mia essentially serves as the series’ second protagonist, and her storyline is by far the most compelling. Her arc…

The women who drive back to monsters and purify the land are the saints. Every country needs at least one. Girtonia boasts of being the home of the GSOAT ~ greatest saint of all time, Philia Adenauer. The thing about Philia is that she never smiles. Never. Saint Mia's smile lights up the entire world. The people adore MIA. What makes it worse is that Mia is her sister. We watch as Philia arrives at home; her mother lambasts her for having such an awful personality. It “reflects poorly” on them. It “reflects poorly” on MIA. Mom cares nothing about Philia's supreme skills.
When Philia arrives at home, we see that even she thinks that Mia is so /kawaii/😍. Her pa…

"Listen here, kid, let me tell you about this gem of a show! You know those stories where the perfect girl gets thrown away like yesterday's newspaper? Yeah, well this one,hoo boy, this one does it different, and let me tell you why it's got me all fired up!
So we got this saint, Philia, right? Does everything by the book, heals the sick, protects the kingdom, the whole shebang. And what's her reward? They call her "unlovable" (can you believe that nonsense?) and ship her off to another kingdom like some unwanted furniture! The absolute gall of these people!
Now most shows would have her go full vengeance mode or drown in a pool of tears, but not our Philia! She just... keeps doing her thing. Not because she's heartless, no sir,but because she's been playing the perfect saint so long, she…

This show has so much potential, especially compared to some other anime in this demographic. I haven't read the manga but I believe the 12 episode format messed the narration up.
We follow our main character Phillia who's the greatest saint of all. Despite that people of her country, even her own family hates and envies her. Which in itself is an interesting premise. On top of that we've got her beautiful, cheerful little sister who is beloved by everyone, though not as strong as Phillia. What I was expecting was that this cute sister Mia would be one of the main antagonists or at least the wicked character making Phillia's life even worse. This show has kind of broke away from this repeated plot, which I really appreciate.
We've got a handful of other interesting characters, such as h…

If you want to watch it for the romance aspect, then just DON'T. The romance is almost non-existent and very shallow. He just says she's allowed to have feelings and falls for her at the very beginning, but their dynamic isn't explored enough. There's no chemistry, he just cares for her and she cares for him.
Aside from that, the plot is fine, I must admit I wasn't bored.
The characters are pretty simple: the mc is overpowered and doesn't let herself have personal feelings until prince charming encourages her to, most of the other characters don't have any depth to them at all, except for the mc's younger sister (her backstory, feelings and actions actually make sense and are interesting). Some characters feel unnecessary, or not explained enough, like the exorcist with the "tamed demon?"…

Too Perfect Saint has a great story where each character has their own personality, desires, goals, and reasons for doing what they do while also being given important roles in the story. The romance is handled much better than the romance in many anime as the romantic subplots actually develop. Too Perfect Saint is great at creating investment in its story through drama and tension, often times by making an already drama filled situation even more dramatic or by making an already bad situation worse in a way which naturally builds its characters and displays potential sources of conflict between them. Lastly, Too Perfect Saint does a phenomenal job at avoiding the pitfalls prevalent in similar series as well as the pitfalls someone would expect a series named "Too Perfect Saint" to have.

A decently put-together show that unfortunately didn't have anything standout enough about it to make it all that enjoyable. The art style, voice direction, character interactions, and plot twists all never felt particularly inspired, so I struggled to find something to latch onto that would have gotten me engaged with the story.
If you want a stoic mc, Violet Evergarden does a much better job, and for a saint mc, The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent is a lot more interesting and genuine. Though it will still be a good enough time if you want something to watch just for fun.
