Something unique that struck me about Tiger & Bunny is just how much of its strength does not come from its visuals. The fact of the matter is this: by and large, most anime series tend to put most of their effort toward the art and animation fronts. Notable examples aside, it is, specifically for anime, rare for the writing to outclass production quality, regardless of how well-written the work is. As seen with Samurai Champloo's hip-hop vibes, FLCL's groundbreaking animation, or design elements like Psycho-Pass' absurd cancer guns, well-written anime such as these present visual elements that (historically have proven themselves to) remain in the viewership's consciousness far longer and more strongly than the actual story being presented. In actuality, this is also true for those with m…

This show has lots of plot holes and inconsistencies. For example one point they let us know of this metal that is super strong and uses nano tech and what not, well the people wearing the suits hide from gun fire, this makes no sense, they are bullet proof. In other scenes certain characters super powers are inconsistent, like in one scene they are fast and strong enough to walk around bullets and destroy several floors in one punch, while in other scenes they fail to chase after a criminal that doesn't even have super powers
If you dont like inconsistent plot hole shows then don't watch this show
If you enjoy some silly fun then give it a watch, despite the plot holes i still sort of enjoyed watching it

Pretty enjoyable, nothing that really stands out but nothing that was really painful either. I'm also not genereally a big super hero fan by the way. The characters and side characters were unique, and unlike certain other shows the main character are mostly adults and they don't cry all the time over everything.
It also seems to have a larger story building so it looks like it will be worth watching past the first season, unlike some shows that fall off because they've gotten past their major gimmick or storyline.
The only mild criticism I have is sometimes the main characters don't use their powers when they should just to advance the plot. Not just using their super speed to catch a person running at normal human speed when they could for example. This is only occasional though so it…

Pros :
-Great animation and art
-Well used concept
-Consistent quality art and storywise even in the couple of fillers
-Pretty fast paced and tonic
-Adult protagonists for once...
-Well balanced between action and humor
-No fanservice
Cons : -Pretty simple story
Overall : A pretty unique anime, refreshing to see two adult protagonists in action based series.
The parody and the action are well balanced and not over the top. The art is damn good for the time. The story is pretty straight forward, it's pure fun and entertainment, but that's an anime I would recommend to someone who is not into animes because you don't get the usual anime tropes and cliches like hero power up, annoying noisy characters and silly fan service.

This is such a fun and rewarding anime to sit through and watch. So much so that I finished it in 2 days! The world of Tiger and Bunny brings an interesting spin to hero v villain, which is hero commercialization via Hero TV. Sponsor logos plastered all across the suit while a camera follows each hero through their conquest of evil in what is pretty much NYC. Reminds me of race car driving as well, where heroes compete throughout the 'season' to be the top-ranked hero. That's not the main reason why I really enjoyed T&B, but it's such a cool concept.
Although it runs with the typical trope of partnering up a young rising star and old washed-up veteran, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is done well. Each hero gets to shine throughout the season, making me want to root for every…

I watched a few episodes when it first came out but I didn’t really get into it. Recently I stumbled upon this and I gave it another chance. And oh that was such a good idea, it’d be a real shame not to.
It’s a very feel good anime, I really enjoyed watching it because it left me with this warm feeling I can’t describe. I also think that it’s a perfect show to watch with your parents, no dangerous moments, if you know what I mean.
Overall, I can recommend it to everyone. If you’re feeling a bit down and you need a distraction, that’s a perfect anime for you. Also, I’d like to add that Tiger&Bunny has only one season and the story wraps up nicely, so you won’t feel unsatisfied after finishing it.

I honestly quite enjoyed this anime, but I don't think it's worth for 7.97. It has much potential like interesting plot and interesting characters but all of those were ruined by how the story was delivered. There're just too many plot holes.
An example is how Kotetsu was seen as someone useless in the beginning. He just has a goofy personality but he had been helpful. In fact, he helped MUCH. But well, they made everyone look down on him. They really want to point out that Kotetsu is seen as a silly and useless hero while Barnaby is seen as a handsome and perfect hero in the anime, but how they did it felt too forced.
Another example (this is kinda a spoiler) is when Barnaby was in a room with someone (who's actually the bad guy but Barnaby didn't know yet. I'm sure you would also reali…

Tiger & Bunny is a hero series from 2011. It was brought to us by Sunrise. I've heard it mentioned a lot over the years, but never got around to watching it. But since it's hero month, it seems like a good time to check it out and form some opinions.
Story:
Our narrative is set in the future where mutants... I mean "Next" have started popping up. Naturally, this has led to a group of heroes who wear product placements like they think they're Captain Amazing from Mystery Men and who fight criminals & rescue civilians alike to earn points for a television show. Enter newcomer, Barnaby, a hero with a dark past he's looking to unravel. He becomes the first hero duo with veteran, Wild Tiger. Unfortunately for both of them, they don't get along all that well and Barnaby's past may be creepin…

Tiger and Bunny is an awesome take on the superhero genre that fosters a lot of warmth in it's characters and setting. It's nice to see actual adults running around saving people, especially when they're as lovable as all these guys.
The whole 'young cocky newbie and seasoned old vet' partner trope is one as old as time but Tiger and Bunny pull it off nicely. Mainly because, I think, their personalities clash with each other so much that it's funny to see. Kotetsu is a flawed (in a good way) main character that is refreshingly different and isn't over-powered like so many other protagonists.
The animation is okay, some weird CG bits here and there but I think the world building definitely makes up for it.
Likes; the story, the characters, the setting, the overall vibe of the show

Tiger and bunny I remember seeing ads for this show on youtube thinking "Wow this looks like a complete sell out anime" So I never gave it a try till I saw japan rated this anime rank 6th, 2nd and 1st place on all time anime. I was shocked so I turned I on ep 1 expecting to hate it and I ended up watching 14 eps in a single day loving it...... Never judge a book by it's cover
Story
The story is about heroes saving the day but on a tv show to get points yep every time they save someone or beat the bad guy they get points the more points they get the more popular they are the better deals they get. The only hero who doesn't care about that though is tiger one of the main characters whose power is "100 times" which makes him stronger for 5 mins and he's been a hero for 10 years. Unfortunate…

This anime has a unique take on the typical superhero story in which they are broadcast to save people, capture villains, and earning points for these actions. The story often revolves around a old superhero which is done very well
The art of this series is very good. It has a unique art style with tons of detail to the characters and even the backgrounds. It looks fantastic which earns praise.
The characters were the strongest point in this anime. The mc shows his family life and social life with his work life also. The world of Tiger and Bunny is full of great characters that often seemed very realistic and human. The interactions between them was very interesting. The partner hero dynamic was also done very well which makes one of the greatest cast of characters for any superhero sto…

I never expected that I would enjoy this show as much as I did. I came here after ‘My Hero Academia’ and an interest in another superhero story. The first few minutes weren’t that promising, but soon I came to love this show more than most anime I’ve watched.
Where ‘Tiger & Bunny’ really manages to distinguish itself from other shows, is the concept and the characters. This superhero story doesn’t only evolve about people trying to save people. There’s a popularity race involved, and most of the character’s goals aren’t that noble at all. I also like the idea of sponsors for the hero’s, makes it even more believable that everything is just one big commercial stunt.
The characters really stand out. Each of them had there own voice and is recognizable. They do things and the things they do…

If an anime involved mech or mechanized suits, Studio Sunrise is a good guess to be involved. The extremely popular Japanese anime Tiger and Bunny is no exception. What is interesting is the director behind this operation was the relatively unknown Keiichi Sato with his only previous work being the creator behind The Big O. He was an animation supervisor, so this work was his first real step into directing. How did the advertisement heavy Tiger and Bunny turn out?
One can basically sum up this anime as what if people with super powers made money by working on a T.V. show sponsored by companies to protect the city from crime. In this world, people whom have powers are called “Next.” The story follows a veteran hero by the name of Kotetsu Kaburagi aka Wild Tiger at the end of his career is…

It's an ok anime if you ignore the ending. Otherwise it's a pretty normal one, characters don't progress as much, but there is something at least. Art is pretty good and sounds and voice actors are ok. Good if you don't know anything you want to watch, I'd say overall for me a 7. If you don't mind inconsistencies and like superheroes, i'd say it could be an 8. If you ignore the last 2 episodes which were atrocious.
This gets a 2 because there are a lot of inconsistencies that happen sometimes that take me out of it (like stupid decisions of characters), but in the last 2 episodes there are just sooo many ass pulls just to further the plot that i just can't give it more than that. I can't give examples because otherwise it would be a spoiler, but imagine a character without powers teleport…

Heavily inspired by western superheroes, Tiger & Bunny at it’s core is a “buddy cop” series, that follows the superheroing adventures of an odd couple: Kotetsu a.k.a. Tiger, a failing middle age superhero who makes up for his goofiness with his enthusiasm and sense of justice, and Barnaby, a young humourless upstart, who got into superheroing to make light on some mysterious events in his past.
While this is a setup that may ring extremely familiar, what makes the premise of Tiger & Bunny stand out is its setting, which in some ways can bring back to mind One Punch Man. Heroes in this universe are not motivated by the goodness of their heart, but are part of a heavily sponsored institution that fights for justice as much as it fights for rating. All the heroes’ deeds are broadcasted live…

We've all seen and grown used to the multitude of film adaptations and video games based on various superheroes aimed at Western audiences. So when I first heard about this anime, I expected it to be more of the same but simply done from a Japanese perspective and wasn't hoping for that much. Boy, was I wrong! This anime quickly became one of my all time favourite series!
The series revolves around the main heroes, Kotetsu T Kaburagi (Wild Tiger) and Baranby Brooks Jr. who are forced to team up and work together. Now first of all, the idea of superheroes working for a company to entertain people on television, as well as their suits being covered in sponsorship is a real novel idea. But it actually makes a lot of sense considering the capitalist world we live in, and this twist on the wh…

This was an anime I had to watch cuz of its genre. I'm BIG into the superhero genre and when I heard about this my mind forced myself to watch it. Ive watched only one other superhero anime(One-Punch Man) and I loved it. What's unique about this series is that unlike most animes it has an American setting. Its whole concept does seem to want to attract the Western audience and as a person who lives in the states I was hoping it wasn't going to be a typical Sunday morning cartoon. After finishing the whole thing last night here's what I think. ***contains MINOR spoilers***
Story:8/10

T&B is a curious meeting of anime and American superhero lore. It has plenty of influences from both, which results in a unique style that probably won't work for everyone. Another thing which might be something of an acquired taste is its character-centric approach. While action of the villain-defeating and people-saving sort is far from absent from the show, at the heart of the story is a buddy-cop style forced partnership between two people who seemingly couldn't be more different.
Kotetsu and Barnaby aka the titular Wild Tiger and Bunny – a nickname the former comes up with for his younger partner, and the evolution of which from insulting to affectionate is a beauty to witness – are widely regarded as the past and future of the hero business: Kotetsu as the old-fashioned, “uncool” r…

LIKE ONE SPOILER
To be honest, the only reason why I watched this 2011 anime by Sunrise studios (of ‘Gintama’ and mecha anime fame) was because I recently read that there was going to be a Hollywood adaptation of this starring Tom Cruise. I was surprised to have found that out because, as far as I’m aware, this would have been the second anime/manga inspired movie in recent time featuring him (the first movie was ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ based on ‘All You Need Is Kill’).
So I wondered… Why was Tom Cruise going to be a part of a children’s movie? From the name, it’s apparent that ‘Tiger & Bunny’ sounds like a romantic ‘Doraemon’ or ‘Ninja Hattori’.
Boy, was I marvelously wrong.
Tiger & Bunny turned out to be a kind of superhero anime I would proudly recommend to my elder brother who was big f…
