2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu it's not a sport anime. It's a drama anime that have as a background the sport called volley.
There's nothing good in this anime. The characters are mid and underdevelped, the story doesn't go anywhere. I genuinely think that anime it's a waste of resource, time and everything you can possibly think of. Maybe the novel it's better, I don't know, but watching this anime I don't have even a little interest of reading the material that made possible this catastrophic "thing".
I've watched some sports anime that also have drama in it, but this isn't good. Don't watch it.

This anime is what we call "Peak-Mid". Its story is mid, characters are mid, animation is mid, direction is mid, artstyle is mid, voicing is mid, music is mid.
The anime seemed less into Sports Action but more into Sports Drama/ SoL. However, the issue with this is that the viewers aren't here to see tons of characters just talking to each other for 90% of the episodes 90% of the time UNLESS you got an incredible story/ character writing which ofcourse was not there and ended up being MID. The characters kept on talking and talking and talking and trying to make viewers understand their emotions, and here I'm like Bro I can't connect with you.
In the 2nd last episode our genius MC said "I don't want this match to end", and here I'm like, Bro I need to watch the next anime, please end! I…

I love sport, it’s a huge part of my life. So obviously, any anime that talks about sports interests me.
Volleyball is a really interesting sport, very fun to watch. Alas, 2.43 is not necessarily. It's not bad.. Just not very interesting. The pace is not inspiring and the relationship between the characters leaves something to be desired.
The matches aren't very intriguing, even if they're still quite fun. The “rivalries” are fairly well run, but everything goes way too fast, which is a shame.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it's bad, but it's forgettable. There was potential, like all sports anime, but it seems like they wanted to move too fast, I wonder why.

To be honest i wouldn't recommend this to anyone the anime is pretty average or i will say below average animation is sometime decent but when compared to other anime of such kind it lacks everything from character development to pace of story and even the plot is quite confusing to me i donno its just me or i think the creator himself is quite confused the anime is incomplete so ill have to read its manga maybe that is better than anime i hope at least but i wouldn't recommend this to anyone i could've made more detailed review but don't wanna put spoilers for you if you still wanna give it a try no harm its pretty short 12ep only

Just going to put it upfront that I am a huge Haikyuu! fan. I don't even know how many times I have rewatched it. I am also rather into sports anime in general.
With that said, I do know what I am getting into for this anime. Is tagged as Slice Of Life too, a genre that I also enjoy. From the visuals art, is pretty obvious is not going to be a shonen sports anime with lots of tension. I did not start this show with a sport bias.
Recommend: Do not watch this as a shonen sports anime, and don't have high hopes for its slice of life element. Just watch it light heartedly or as an in-between anime if you just ended something really good
Review:
The storyline itself is pretty decent overall, kind of standard which I don't mind, most stories are a variation of each other anyway. The pacing how…

You like Haikyuu? You a teen or a youn gadult? You like edgy teenagers trying to talk to other edgy teenagers. Well you are in luck, this anime is just that. Seiin 2.43 is a volleyball anime which follows two main characters, one is a setter, and one is an attacker. If you have watched Haikyuu this will be easier to explain. Basically the setter is kageyama who is perfect in every way shape and form. Now in Haikyuu this is good everyone loves that kageyama can do everything, but in Seiin 2.43 everyone hates this. The opening and ending were total bops, could listen to it for hours on end, especially the opening. The use of the soundtrack was extraordinary as well. The characters were very cliché. One of the characters is short and in volleyball that is not good, but because this is anime,…

I think my main issue with this anime was its marketing. It was marketed as a sports anime, and yet there was little to no time at all spent on Volleyball. This wouldn't have been such a huge problem for me if the drama aspect of the anime was interesting enough for me to forget that I initially came because of the Volleyball. However, it wasn't. The plot felt messy and rushed. And the characters were not well developed...I can't even remember their names. They were not developed as either individuals or a team. Honestly, I didn't even care if they won or lost the 5s matches we saw. The anime didn't make me root for them at all.
After the first couple of episodes, I had high hopes that this anime would be a new take on sport's anime that combined heart wrenching drama with the excitement…

Just watch Haikyuu it does everything in this show better. The characters, ploy, growth, animation, intensity and writing are all better. The story and pacing in this are terrible its only redeeming quality is its sound design and its somewhat decent animation. I ended up cheering for the other teams ace because of his knees and being a third year. only the antagonist is giving any kind of interest, even more than the "main character". none of the other characters are even some what interesting. I had heard nothing about this show and saw it was made by david produtions so i thought maybe it would good but no its trash.

This anime was at least a 7. I think this anime got compared to you-know-what instead of people watching it for what it was actually worth.
The story was fine and even set up for another season if they wanted one, but was fine with just the one as well. The characters had growth, although there was a little drama at the beginning that did not get a decent enough explanation, which i docked points for. But overall, the story did what it needed to do fort he plot points they used.
The art and sounds were great! They did that little click-power up sound effect that i like a lot and that definitely added to the effects during the climax of the show. They didn't execute It the cut scenes as well as I'd have liked to see, but they did a decent enough job with the time they had considering it…

First volleyball anime watched! Keep in mind this is my first volleyball anime, so will do my best!
Story-wise, the one thing that stands out is the lesson that words are powerful as actions if not more, and this affects everyone. I would say the writers did a pretty good job of putting this theme as part of the story and characters development (part of obstacle), I'm glad they managed to overcome it. Adding the importance of belief, confidence as well as friendship and teamwork and you got yourself a great recipe for sports anime!
The characters themselves are pretty well written too, it was nice to see how our characters have their own quirks and personalities which make them who they are. It was great to see them shine in their own way, and I enjoyed the humor that came from their pe…

I remember when I first saw a preview for this show I was super excited to see it. I am obsessed with anything and everything sports anime especially when the cast is all-guys.
If you enjoy bromance and watching a team strive for improvement/victory throughout the course of a show, this is that typical formula and you would probably have a good time watching this. However, it is definitely on the blander end of the spectrum, not merely as exciting as the more popular sports anime.
Overall, I enjoyed the art a lot, and I thought the VA was really good. This was my first experience watching a "sub" anime and I was able to binge it all within a day. You aren't going to really "feel" emotions from this or have a rollercoaster experience; if anything, this show is smooth-riding, entertaining…

------ I DIDNT EXPECT ANYTHING BUT, WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE:
It is difficult not to compare both series but beyond volleyball and all that has to do with the game: teamwork, effort, responsibilities, overcome difficulties, happiness, bitterness/sadness, etc.
These series are different; I think 2.43 has a bit more “dramatic punch line” especially with the background of Haijima (the setter) and all that surrounds him.
Another thing is that even if I am a haikyuu die hard fan, I think this series is more “realistic” with the game itself, please don't get me wrong I love the action and tension that haikyuu have, but 2.43 feels a little more natural guess.
The art: in some points, it feels flat 7/10
The sound: the opening and the ending are 10/10 loved it.
If you are looking for an ente…

I know people say not to compare it to Haikyuu but it's hard not to haha.. Haijima is made so achingly similar to Kageyama, being a genius hardworking setter who excels on ball control and aggressive attack strategies, but suck at communication and working with team mates.
The one thing this anime is good at, though, is making more realistic characters and scenarios. Kuroba's struggles in the beginning, with performance anxiety, succumbing to peer pressure etc - feel quite human. And the captain not getting Hinata-esque miracles... even the communication problems Haijime has just straight up playing out in front of our eyes; they all feel more realistic than the ones in Haikyuu because a lot of characters in Haikyuu are established to be volleyball-obsessed and may not act like normal hig…

2.43 Seiin is a failed attempt at a drama oriented volleyball anime and there are quite a few reasons why it missed the mark.
Characters: Many of the characters this show introduced were 1 dimensional and fit a specific role in the show, they didn't show much growth/change over the series and were generally uninteresting. The main issues with the characters is that they are hard to enjoy and get invested in. They are generally unlikeable and their dialogue scenes are often awkward and seem very forced. The biggest offence in terms of characters is that the "Enemy" team is a group of way more interesting and likeable characters who at least I came to like and found myself cheeringfor in the later episodes of this show.
Animation/Art: The art style for this anime wa…

Giving a specific score to 2.43 Seiin is... a little complicated?
I'd give it a 5.5 to a 5 for objective value, but a 7 to an 8 for personal enjoyment.
Seiin fluctuates in quality, (not just animation wise), where there'll be a really good moment, although it'll be hidden in between a lackluster episode.
I've seen some people mention that Seiin was a show that was more about the drama than the volleyball, but over time, I found myself enjoying the matches the most. If you're here for the sport, I definitely think it's good enough watching just for that. It's fast pace is awesome and the animation quality picks up during the matches.
All of the characters are a bit forgettable, but I didn't mind that as I ended up enjoying the general atmosphere of the story the most anyway. It's strongest…

**Possible Spoilers**
I was quite excited for this sports anime, and to see the direction they took with Haijima and his relationship with his old friends and teammates to with Kuroba and his new team. I also like how they explored the topic of long term injuries that are derived from the sports that they play with Subaru, as a person who has had sports related injuries and how your own body can be your biggest enemy it was a really nice aspect to the anime. This anime really is no frills and over exaggeration and overplayed episode filler tropes like other sports anime which is refreshing to see that they get straight to the point.
However i'm not going to lie the pacing of this anime really brings a lot of points down for me. We don't really get to see the team and a lot of the charac…

The first two episodes of this show slap. From there on the show loses lots of its charm. It's not at all similar to Haikyuu (which isn't a bad thing), but I can't help but compare the shows.
I'm someone who isn't a fan of slow burn shows, but the plot moves so fast in this show I can barely comprehend what I missed. The lack of any pace makes it hard to follow, and ruins the show for me. It had potential for an interesting plot with well developed characters, but I think the show would have done much better with big plot points more spaced out, with time to explore the setting and characters first.
Felt like I was launched head first into a messy plot with no time to process or contextualize.

Finally, a decent anime about volleyball!
I dropped Haikyu!! after first season because it started to fell a lot like Kuroko (which means not a spolon but a fantasy shonen) and I had high hioes for 2.43
And it didn`t upset me! There are many details about tactics, mechanics and sport overall. this series is about volleyball, not about cheap teenage drama, and that`s why it`s good.
Yes, animation and ost are not that great but I came here to see anime about sport and I got it. Also, characters are enjoyable and their accent is adorable and fun to hear!
I recommend this anime to anyone who are tired of spokons that are 50% drama, 50% fantasy and 0% actual sport. I hope anime industry will move in this direction from now on (but I really doubt it).
Solid 7/10.

So, this is an anime that exists.
When I first saw we were getting another volleyball anime I was almost expecting it to be just as amazing as Haikyuu. However the first episode made me realize that would likely not be the case for me and I'll admit I was being really unfair to 2.43 for expecting such things.
Now, to break this down a bit:
Story:
2.43 has essentially the same overall story you've seen in just about every other sports anime ever. It has a few details that stand out but the smaller ones are not really touched upon and the biggest one by far is resolved in what I find to be a rather unsatisfying manner. Part of the reason for that might be the pacing which I find to be too fast. Things happen but there is barely any time to get to know the characters so whatever happens…
