A Certain Scientific Accelerator

A Certain Scientific Accelerator

Introduction

Academy City stands at the forefront of scientific and technological progress, best known for their development of espers: those capable of wielding superhuman abilities that alter the rules of reality. The most powerful among them are the Level 5s, and the one known as Accelerator reigns supreme, even after being weakened by a severe brain injury. By his side is the young girl known as Last Order, whom despite his cold demeanor, he holds closely and vows to protect at all costs. Though Accelerator may be recovering from his injury, the dark side of Academy City never rests, and so he finds himself unwillingly caught up in the midst of a new conflict. When a mysterious young woman approaches Accelerator in pursuit of Last Order, the highest-ranked esper is confronted by a venomous organization that has taken root in Anti-Skill, Academy City's peacekeeping organization. With dangerous forces on the move that threaten to put Last Order and her sisters at risk, the self-proclaimed villain prepares to step into the darkness once again. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The series A Certain Magical Index, Accelerator and Railgun form one world and are closely connected, so I'll take the liberty of writing a joint review. This entire anime world operates on the idea of a technological city, saints and people with "supernatural abilities" - this may seem at first glance like a rather wild combination that will only result in strange chaos, but the opposite is true. The series builds its world on characters that you will immediately like, invents great plots, builds a world with a glimpse of the future, but keeps its aces up its sleeve and works best of all with small jokes, often mainly with "running jokes", which, however, do not become boring or annoying. Index is a more fragmented series with many plots, which goes through everything quickly and the qu…

Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator felt just like fan service, and with that initial bit of information out of the way you can excuse a lot of stuff like the not-very-good development of the characters. This was made specifically for people who wanted to see more of this character and in that regard it delivers on that promise. Accelerator cackling and the fear he inspires from people and even though he has his limitations in this show, being able to bypass virtually everybody's abilities was very amusing. You might feel like that makes it boring because you technically know the result of everything but it really just depends on a person's tastes. If you're looking for something more complex than that this isn't the show, but if you don't mind something that revels in itself a little then this…

Overview: "A Certain Scientific Accelerator" is the second spin-off of the science-fantasy series "A Certain Magical Index", the first being "A Certain Scientific Railgun". As the name implies, it focuses on Accelerator, the resident anti-hero of "Index" and the top-ranked esper in Academy City. While in terms of visuals and sound design, "Accelerator" is just as impressive as its parent series "Index" and sister series "Railgun", it unfortunately falls a little short in the areas that truly matter, though it's still well worth watching, especially if you're an Accelerator fan. Story (8/10): The series is set some time after episodes 18 and 19 of "Index", when Accelerator saved the young Misaka clone Last Order almost at the cost of his life. He survived, but only due to being treated and…

The anime's ideaology can be summed up with the "Oh you're a villain. You're just not a SUPER villain" meme from Megamind. Despite that, I cannot deny the therapeutic affects of Accelerator embarrassing weaker villains being a villain himself. The plot, music and animation exceeded my expectations for a spinoff, but most of the enjoyment comes from how deep Accelerator is as a character and how much it took advantage of the source material's world building while adding original elements like Esther and her necromancy. Basically it's the perfect show if you just want to see Academy City's first-ranked kick some ass.

i would rate this a 2 if it werent for the connection to to aru if you dont like or have never watch to aru this isnt for you even if you like dumb schlock this is not for you the animation in the first half is so jarring and only get passable in the second half even the connection to to aru is flimsy at best, last order barely shows up and barely does anything of consequence, accelerator is weirdly passive even for being his nerfed version this season should've been called "a certain magical necromancer" almost everything as based around esther and her drama which to be fair is quite interesting its just too little too late and so much time is wasted on showing accelerator cackling in surprisingly bad animation for to aru and being very unimaginative with his powers just rewatch railgun a…

I liked this show a lot more for one very specific reason: it has anti-hero as main protagonist. We are in such a desperate need for anti-heroes it hurts to event think about it. Anime after anime we get some wimp who can't look women in the eye but acts courageous and righteous with enormous power at hand. It's simply wrong. Accelerator is the way untouchable heroes should be. After all no one can touch them or even come close to doing so. There's no need to be all goody and happy all day. It's a boring and annoying existence sprinkled with moments of joy. Story otherwise is not bad. It's not a masterpiece but it does what it needs to do. Writers should also be praised for not taking shortcuts or having any exposition. It's fun little anime with a bit of an weird ending but enjoyable ove…

Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator (2019) An odd season but one that was needed for such a pinnacle character. I must say it didn't start where I thought it would but I am happy about that to avoid repetition. I enjoy the adventures he has with Last Order and the other sisters. Art is a good standard, not quite as good as I expected it to be but it is quite fitting with the series as a whole. The sound is good not as defined as I would have hoped but still it is good. Characters develop nicely and I do enjoy it, Misaka sisters way of speaking is topped off so cutely with Last Order. Overall, it is a good series but I am glad it is only 1 season, something about it didn't feel like it would last after too many. 8/10.

Quick take: Storyline is great and for the first time in the Magical Index universe, feels properly paced. Characters are a bit lacking as interactions feel a bit less natural than previous installments. The storyline to Accelerator feels well paced, something I feel had been missed in many of the other Magical Index/Railgun installments. It's also intriguing, bringing a mix of magic and science to direct competition. It kept me engaged the entire time and constantly coming back for more. Art is on par with much of the other installments, feeling quite unpolished. It's disappointing to say the least. Sound is good and voices (English) are well acted. All the fan service that was missed in Railgun S will be found squeezed into this short season, but none of it feels out of place or force…

Short Review: They had to ruin the most interesting character, and probably my favorite in the entire Raildex franchise. Thankfully this isn't as long as Index III, because if it were, I could see this being close to a 2. I gave this a better score because I did actually enjoy the first couple of episodes and had my eye on a score of 7 at around episode 3, but it got so bad so quick I was amazed. The story kept getting more and more dull and uninteresting as I neared the end, as well as really predictable and overall trash. Animation also was a downgrade from Index/Railgun. Even though it wasn't that much of a bother to me, I still kept it in mind when rating this. In summary, thank god this was only 12 episodes and not more.

They f****ed with the best chracter anime, he barely is the protagonist of his own show, instead they choose to focus on the story of that blond necromancer who is boring af and for a necromance have close to no soul. I really wished this anime was way more about " i do what i want beacuse i can, and i wanna save that little girl , also i'm nerfed so i gonna have to deal with that" that is about " hey look at me imma impotent girl that have this weird family issues and gona take half the screen time with a uninteresting story". The best part was when he beated the ever living shit out of that 4 girl group Scavangers because that is the escence of this character, the anti-villan job. So much potencial wasted.

Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator, or in english, A Certain Scientific Accelerator has a complete focus on one of my favorite antagonists of the Toaru Raildex series, an antagonist who is becoming to learn good via Touyma. This season takes place between seasons one and two of a certain magical index. A Certain Scientific Accelerator has a focus on something the other series never touched on, that being necromancy. Basically this series main villain used necromancy to achieve his goal, but that had a twist to it near the end of the series. This season features two amazing main characters which originated from the original story, a certain magical index. In the end, I gave A Certain Scientific Accelerator an 8 out of 10. There are 4 gems brought to the World by the Toaru series: Misaka, Kuroko, Accelerator and Last Order so I was super happy to watch this, despite the massive trainwreck that Toaru Majutsu no Index III was. Animation: 1) the visuals are pleasant to look at but I expected the action scenes to be animated differently, with more fluidity and more spectacular moments like many other action animes do. 2) dialog and characters' animation aren't always in sync. 3) I don't like CGI because it breaks immersion for me. 4) there a few scenes where there's no visual continuity. This is best explained with an example: in the 1st episode, Kidera Minori is concerned and we get to see a close up of her while she voices those worries. Once the close up is over, her facial expression is the same as thi…

The story overall is good, but I somewhat miss all of the deeper meanings and character development surrounding Accelerator from Toaru Majutsu no Index. However regarding the character development due to Accelerator being the main character his development has to be more subtle than it was in Index. Overall I am pretty glad they made this series, Accelerator is one of my favorite characters from the Index series. However, the most underappreciated character is most likely the Misaka clones. After introduced and freed from the project each of the Misaka clones developed more and more individuality to the point where they are expanding their range of emotions and relying less of the Misaka network to dictate what to do. Perhaps the Railgun series goes more in depth about their character d…

Academy city is in danger once again and Misaka isn't here to do it. Now it is the time for Academy City's greatest esper Accelerator to show how it is done. This took a slight turn from the original Index/Railgun series. This is more dark and gory that the other shows. Why is that? Because Accelerator is as brutal as he is powerful. We aren't technically following a hero like Misaka since Accelerator is more of an Anti-Hero. He doesn't do good deeds all the time but he does them from time to time. Like he didn't massacre the first actual enemies he had. But when it was time to get angry shit hit the fan real hard. Ain't nobody want to go against the angry Accelerator unless your name is Touma Kamijou. Story: This is some time after Railgun s2 because in that season the Misaka Clone expe…

I am one of those people who have not watched the other anime said to be related to this one, nor have I read the manga. So basically, this is an opinion from someone who just clicked on this anime and decided to watch it and give it a try. And I have watched all the episodes of this anime. Just clearing that up so that ya’ll know what to expect when reading my review. Anyways, this anime was pretty good in my opinion. Not awesome, but good. The main character is honestly a little weird to me. His laugh is annoying and screechy and he laughs A LOT (or at least, it feels like to me he does). The plot isn’t all that deep in my opinion. They don’t really go into the main character’s past that much like I was hoping. I mean they do a little, but that’s it. They honestly put more focus on oth…

Great story. I love brutal MC and he is better that THE MC of this anime series. Accelerator is the coolest MC I think and this anime should have season 2. For the character, if you enjoy watching Accelerator you will enjoy the characters in this show as the show is largely focused on Accelerator. Outside of that, Last Order is as cute as ever, the Academy City students got some screen time with Uiharu and Saten, the side characters like Estelle and her corpse doll were fun to watch and misaka clones are always hilarious. Some weaknesses however were the villains, all of them were idiots and quite cringey to watch, cant even blame JC Staff on the characterization here, the antagonists were also delusional idiots in the manga as well. Some cops with a completely detached from reality vie…

Accelerator is a good dad. Judging by this line "If nothing else...if there's a chance that it might reach her...I'll have to do this as ugly as it takes!" Accelerator said this while defusing an explosion that might destroy the city and possibly destroy Last Order/Misaka 20001 The story: There is this organisation called DA or Disciplinary Action that is like false Antiskill. They say they bring real justice, even though it is not. They use necromancy to bring dead bodies back alive and boost their level and shove them into coffins to create esper robots. Thanks to Esther Rosenthal they are able to use necromancy, and were able to create "level 6/god" and of course it is Accelerators job to destroy this organisation even though he doesn't want to, but he is roped into it after their atte…

Ok, this is by far my favourite To Aru series character since i saw him. I was super happy, and still am that he got his anime adaptation BUT. Story arc is kinda meh to be honest, animations are also very mediocre and action sequences arent really connected, art itself is good. Accelerator as character is super intersting and fun to watch so for me at least he brings this whole anime up. I really dont understand why they didnt animate this masterfully since its anime about new character and it should have made people hook up with the show, find this guy super intersting and they continue watching whole series, but too bad i guess. Hopefully they make another season or show.

It's pretty important to watch the previous Index entries before this one. Great buildup. New characters are fairly weak in development and personality, while old characters are still sort of strong. The story is believable and the motivations are ok The art was nice, as always. The music was pretty good. The voice acting was great, as always. In anime, I usually dislike the main character being super-extremely overpowered, but I enjoyed this anime. I like that Accelerator does not have any hint of romance as his motivations. He has flaws and trust issues that probably befit someone who went through such unknown and numerous abuses in his earlier years. Still disappointed there is no explanation as to why he can use magic (his black wings) and his esper powers without major conseque…

A certain Scientific Accelerator finally gave us fans exactly what we wanted. An anime featuring best boy accelerator as the MC. UNFORTUNATELY due to there being very little source material from the accelerator manga, and that same material is pretty bad, the story takes a HUGE hit. The story: focus's around the Necormancer Arc. It's got a decent premise with extremely flawed execution. It starts from accelerators point of view after the sisters arc. There were things I personally was hoping to see that we only get tiny glimpses of, and things I just wish I hadn't scene (the ending). If the necromancer arc had been given 3-5 episodes, I would have been much happier. Instead, with 11 of the 12 episodes being dedicated to it, it ends up feeling drawn out way too long, and with a very diss…
