This show somehow hid from me even though I've had years of scrolling through myanimelist interest stacks, recommendations, forums, friend suggestions and youtube content. Though none of the genres here are my typical watch since I'm more of a fantasy/supernatural/mystery/action/suspense kind of guy I have to say I'm still surprised this show never crossed my path before, or if it did I probably just glanced over it quickly without much of a second thought. I'll tell you what though in my opinion this show is absolutely worth a shot at watching.
Like I said before this show isn't my typical watch at all but digging through interest stacks something caught my eye about the cover photo. Either the way its drawn in the mid 2000s typical anime style or a combination of the characters skating…

Air gear is one of my all time favorite anime's down to the music the theme the premise (a bunch of gang members fighting over turfs for bragging rights and better equipment to soar the sky and skate) I even love the characters they all feel so free spirited and it's one of the very first anime's I've ever seen I love it all,
the only thing I don't like about this anime is the weird sexual themes or borderline incestuous behaviors but aside from that,
You get to see a group of rebellious free spirited teens in a punk inspired jetset radio like anime and what's greater than that? 😁

i usually stuck to cooking, but when i stumbled on this anime, i just had to watch it, because the main guy reminded me so much of my son. my son is a beast on the roller skates. people in the town actually call him rolling robby, which is very fitting, since robert, my son, always skates around time on his roller skates, much like the main guy in air gear, only robert probably goes faster, and that's without any rocket boosters.
love my son, i am very proud of him and his roller skating ways. the anime is a lot of fun and very exciting, especially because it helps me understand how my son must feel when he goes fast on his roller skates.
time to cook for my son and my wife and my daughter, thanks for reading
7/10, could use my cooking in it, but good

Overview:
While it's a mindset I'll never quite wrap my head around, it's an indisputable fact that some people enjoy risking their lives for dumb thrills, which is where extreme sports come from. "Air Gear" is what happens when extreme sports do shonen battle anime, following teams of people racing, fighting and competing against each other with what are essentially very hi-tech rollerblades. However, while the premise is fresh, "Air Gear" sadly falls short in a number of areas, even if it is still an enjoyable series that I do not regret spending my time on.
Story (6.5/10):
"Air Gear" tells the story of Itsuki "Ikki" Minami, a 15-year-old delinquent who lives with his childhood friend Ringo Noyamano and her three sisters, Rika, Mikan and Shiraume (Ume for short). Having a secret fascina…

Air Gear aired in Portugal in 2009, when I was 17 years old. I didn't watch it back then but it was very popular with teens back then. That made me add it to my Plan-To-Watch list. I'm almost 31 years old and maybe I should've watched it back then because as an adult, I lack the patience for some themes common in animes similar to Air Gear.
Before deciding to watch this, people should know the following:
- Expect a lot of ecchi and fanservice
- Expect terrible voice acting from the main character
- Expect very inconsistent animation
If these three aspects don't bother you that much, you could enjoy this.
The only good thing I have to say about this anime is that the cast has a bunch of very experienced seiyuus and that most of these have worked together in previous projects.

So Air is a great anime if you like sporty or some romcom and naught thing here and there If so then you will love air gear, in my opinion, it should be one of the top 500 animes you should see. The animation is between older and newer animes but overall I say it has decent animation. Air Gear is about a boy who always wants to fly. They have an extreme sport with skates that have tiny motors in them making you go fast and do extreme tricks like going up a pole or up a building. The main charter develops somewhat over the story is great and I recommend you check this anime out.

Any positive reviews of Air Gear are mostly filled by nostalgia from those who watched it in the early 2000s. The art style, fashion, and music are all great (art and fashion in the manga are even cooler seriously look up the manga covers) which are what drew me into watching. It has all the making of a classic 2000s anime like protag male living with hot sisterly female characters and over the top ecchi scenes which have not aged well in 2022.
The first few episodes are interesting, but the plot never really goes anywhere? The premise of roller skating gangs sounds super cool, but it is really bland. They throw some drama in the last few episodes along with some weird fantasy aspects that do not fit in at all. This should have been a 12 episode anime. I had to push to finish it but the…

I need more of this in my life. That is all.
The review system makes it so that you can't just put in something short and sweet so I'm typing this sentence and the ones following to make it longer. Go watch this show if you haven't! It's hilarious and has a dope soundtrack. Also if you like the Jet Set Radio series of video games you will love this show. It features Hideki Naganuma (Skankfunk) as the OST composer. My friends and I have several quotes from this show that we use in our daily lives now.
Not sure how long this thing needs to be for me to submit it, hopefully this is enough.

This show was suggested to me and it has been the slowest I have ever watched any anime so far. The story was interesting but there was never any real development. I get the point is supposed to be an underdog story but still there should be more explanation on roads, regalia, and relationships. Everything felt rushed and out of place. I had a few laughs and some “oh that was cool” moments but ultimately the ending of the last episode left me extremely dissatisfied.
The relationships between the characters were great and I always wanted more. It just seemed like people would show up and be friends but there was no depth and hardly any meaning. I can live with not getting the ending I wanted but at least give some sense of closure to the story or any of the relationships.
10/10 for the the…

The series is about the MC joining the "Secret" world of AT's. I think they are called AT's. Basically they are roller blades with engines built inside of them. Which lets them ride anything. The better rider you are, the longer, the faster you can ride them. Essentially its like a battle manga. In fact it gets a bit weird in the later episodes. But the emphasis is on the roller blades and what crazy shit you can pull off on it.
Now the series isn't some super serious type stuff. Its campy. Its ridiculous. It understands its zone and plays to its strengths and i think it works very well. Most of the time.
Now i liked majority of the characters. Some surprising character development also took me by surprise. As well as various personalities that play off each other very well. I think som…

This series for the time it was made is ok. The animation for the time was good at best. The story was nothing too new but it did have some cool moments and nice laughs. There are definitely some remember-able characters, and the story doesn't shove it self up its own ass. Honestly watch this series is not wasting your time even if you might drop it. As a warning it dose has a 'read the manga endings' that a lot of anime especially of its time tends to have. It is a good series when you're transitioning from a normie a anime fan to an avid anime fan.

tbh that had a interesting story with good characters and a good plot but they ruined it by rushing the story when they could have made it a 2-3 seasons long and explain it more in detail and show the progress of him training and getting better and impressing people before he becomes a leader with only 2 months experience with the air trecks. however, the anime it self is still a good watch and i would definitely recommend it but to get a high score it would have made them changes so i hope they do a season 2 with more detail or a total redu or the anime so they don't rush this time

A quick read through the plot summaries available for the anime on the internet would probably make one think that "Air Gear" is yet another shounen anime about a bunch of kids discovering values through some sport. While "Air Gear" is indeed a shounen anime, I think it is one of it's kind.
A key aspect of "Air gear" that makes it stand out among other shounen anime is its seemingly "underground" aesthetic. The AT is essentially roller skates with some very novel upgrades, to the effect that, depending one one's training and skills, skating up buildings, jumping across rooftops and who knows what else, become possible. Perhaps fittingly, riding the AT is a somewhat discreet affair and most activities involving the AT, such as turf wars, are "underground". The AT world can be accessed only…

A classic anime from my childhood. My views maybe biased.
This anime has style but can be slow. It was frustrating but the animation and my personal liking for Roller skates (despite the fact i never had one in my childhood) really help up my attention for this anime. The characters are interesting and the interaction is good, serves the subject material enough.
The point-
1. The initial setup us slow.
2. The 25 episodes of this series are all adapted from the build up part of the source material.
3. This means the the Biggest FLAW of this anime is that, the story was never completed.
4. Biggest FEATURE of this anime is that the STYLE. This anime anime has style.
5. The theme may be out of fashion, but you can feel the thrill from the music and animation combined.
My final point if yo…

Slades Quick Review!
The anime I constantly recommend that no one wants to watch. So, yes, it’s about rollerblading but its more than that! Its about Gangs! Fighting! And constantly talking about flying! The main character is typical loud mouth protagonist and if you don’t like him then that’s totally understandable. The good characters are the supporting cast who get to develop along with the protagonist and support him even though he won’t shut the f#ck up about flying like a biscuit if you throw it. I know most people are put off because the show is about roller blading but it’s closer to putting on boots that allow you to defy physics. Once I got past the bit about the roller blading its surprisingly the fan service that put me off. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about seeing the bingbonga…

I have never been a big fan of sports anime. However, something about this anime hooked me.
Much like others, I was put off by the first episode. But, I was hooked by episode 3.
I am reminded a lot of Accel World while watching this. The loser that is to be the king. I wish a second season had been released.
The art style is from the 2000s, but it sometimes feels like the '80s. The way the characters move reminds me of roller skaters from the '70s and '80s, and it's thoroughly enjoyable.
The music is awesome. Once again, '70s to '80s music, and it fits the feel of the Anime perfectly.
The characters take a little time to develop, but it's worth it in the end.
The story is amazing, and I haven't really seen a sports Anime come close to this one.
My only complaint: The ecchi. If you'r…

Air Gear is very much a product of anime culture. It's definitely a "tweener" anime, much in line with many of the most popular shows in the industry, like Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online. The plot is phenomenally generic and can be vague and meandering, there's a helping of T&A large enough to pique the curiosity of the same target audience, and the aesthetic appeal of the anime will likely draw as many viewers as the plot synopsis.
And yet, my rating stands as a perfecty decent 6. Why, exactly? It's all the things that a more discerning viewer has learned to avoid. And yet, like a lesser version of No Game No Life, this overblown, generic teenage fever dream has so much heart. It's a show that screams "efforts have been made". And even if it falls on its face in terms of narrative…

Hello there
For whatever reason I decided it was a clever decision to start watching Air Gear thinking it was somewhat a classic. Sadly I was very wrong.
First of all what I noted was the animation was incredibly poor. This is the same year that anime like Code Geass and Death Note, which are 2 very known anime that isn't outdated at all in the animation art. However, Air Gear did not manage to solve the riddle of how to make an anime look well. Already from ep 1 it seemed like they saved money where they could in "lack" of animation, and just blurry pictures instead. This was just one of many problems with the anime. Secondly the characters that were focused on were poor-designed. For instance we have this pink-haired girl who seems very important the first 3 episodes. Then we don't see…

This is one of my favorite animes. Usually my favorite animes are ones that are more than 100 episode because it becomes my favorite animes because I spend alot of time on it so I get to know the characters alot more. This anime was different because It is like I knew these characters my entire life. Every character in this show is like people I already know. The plot of this story fly is fly. It is not that typical anime where the main character is trying to reach the top. Sometimes you need an anime where you fly and that is what so relaxing about this anime. I felt like I was flying while watching this. Like legit it was so good the episode flew by. I love it when anime's do not just focus on the main character but builds up other characters around them so u can build bonds with them to…
