Akame ga Kill!

Akame ga Kill!

Introduction

Night Raid is the covert assassination branch of the Revolutionary Army, an uprising assembled to overthrow Prime Minister Honest, whose avarice and greed for power has led him to take advantage of the child emperor's inexperience. Without a strong and benevolent leader, the rest of the nation is left to drown in poverty, strife, and ruin. Though the Night Raid members are all experienced killers, they understand that taking lives is far from commendable and that they will likely face retribution as they mercilessly eliminate anyone who stands in the revolution's way. This merry band of assassins' newest member is Tatsumi, a naïve boy from a remote village who had embarked on a journey to help his impoverished hometown and was won over by not only Night Raid's ideals, but also their resolve. Akame ga Kill! follows Tatsumi as he fights the Empire and comes face-to-face with powerful weapons, enemy assassins, challenges to his own morals and values, and ultimately, what it truly means to be an assassin with a cause. No, Tatsumi, you didn't... This anime is a milestone in the industry, whether for its story or for the courage to show certain scenes and make decisions that other works would hardly dare to make. Akame ga Kill! isn't simply an adventure about young people facing increasingly strong monsters and enemies. Beneath all the action lies a story about revolution, corruption, inequality, and, above all, how far someone is willing to go to change a completely rotten system. What impresses me most about the series is precisely how it presents this conflict. There isn't just one side to the story here. We have ordinary citizens who often aren't even aware of the scale of the atrocities committed by the Empire; we have those who are part of the system itself and benefit from it; and we have the rev…

This one hits!! Akame ga Kill! is entertaining and flashy, with great pacing and presentation throughout all 24 episodes. At its core it's a war drama about characters of opposing personalities and ideals. Secondarily it is a harem anime with a healthy amount of fanservice. The two plots come together to tell the story of a conflict driven by character relationships during a time of corruption and upheaval. The world is unique and immediately eye catching, standing out among other similar fantasy settings. The use of anachronistic technology like guns and modern wardrobes makes the setting feel impressionistic, like a dream version of reality. Its perfect for the flamboyant style of the anime, and results in some amazing character designs like Esdeath. The characters are all interesting…

Akame ga kill, well this anime sure deserves a higher score on MAL but maybe others didnt like this much cuz it had gore scenes and stufff like this, but Akame ga Kill was one of the saddest animes i couldve seen even if it was my first time,i really enjoyed it so much, and in this anime,i can tell that you cant start to love a character cuz they might die or something. Other things to say,is that Tatsumi wasnt the main character all long even if he appeared at the start of the anime,he was NOT the protagonist,i wont spoil to much but the real protagonist was Akame, since the anime is named after her in the first place. The animation was great,i cant complain about it or whatever. The story and the backstory's were amazing,i really enjoyed the backstory's and the story in general, was pure p…

This is a rather low-quality yet classic example of a shounen anime. Dozens of dialogues are included without purpose, conveying nothing and serving only to make the characters appear cool or to forcefully advance a weak plot. These dialogues often feel as illogical as if they were written by a 10-year-old. There is no character development. Even putting that aside, the anime is poor overall. Stronger and stronger enemies keep appearing, but somehow they are defeated abruptly. Everything happens so suddenly that we don’t even get a chance to see the impact on the characters. The series lacks meaningful content, and when you finish it, there’s nothing to say like, “Wow, this anime taught me something,” or, “This anime really entertained me with a unique feature.”

With a series that starts off extremely promising and desperately tries to present itself as “deep dark,” by the time I finished it, I realized that yes, it is dark, but only in an edgy way. As for being deep? I don’t see it anywhere. At first, Night Raid sounds cool, but in reality it’s just a disorganized group with a few basic personality traits, all written in a very shallow way. These characters exist only to die; they feel like tools created purely for “shock value.” When one or two characters die, it might still be surprising. But when everyone keeps dying, I realized that the value of death in this series is basically zero. By the middle of the show, my only thought was: “Who’s next?” The next issue is the world-building of Akame ga Kill. Characters die constantly, there’s violen…

Punchy, flashy action with a solid emotional core. Brutally honest visuals and plot on the outside, and surprisingly gentle and bittersweet on the inside. All the ingredients are there for a good time, in just the right quantity. Nothing stands out as especially bad or insanely good—no clever twist, no hidden layer. One lore dump per character. One motivation each. WYSIWYG from episode 1: a simple, straightforward plot with simple, straightforward characters and simple, straightforward outcomes. Very comfy. There’s a lot of talent and budget at every level. All the great voices are here and fit their characters perfectly, with one notable exception: Seryu Ubiquitous, whose voice actor is usually cast in much gentler roles (Steins;Gate’s Mayushii comes to mind). The visuals are clean and…

SPOILER WARNING: No This show was fan-fucking-tastic. Mostly anyways, If you're new to this anime, I personally recommand watching until episode 19 and then switching to the manga (chapter 40 - It's at the end of the mine fight) The characters were phenomenal, I like how the author chose to write them in such a unique way, but in the manga this is more evident, the manga has WAYYYYYY better character building, this show is also incredibly popular which is great to see, it's not as much in Japan I've heard, but the manga holy. If it was adapted according to solely the manga it would've been a 9.25/10 anime, there's a bit of unnecessary fanservice which really pissed me off, there were some slight issues too which I didn't really like but a 9.25 is still respectable especially for a manga wh…

Akame ga Kill is not an anime made for your typical weeb that enjoys watching childish characters team up, yap endlessly and prevail easily against bottomless evil with random power-ups and messy power balance and save the world in process. Akame ga Kill is an anime that doesn't give anyone excuse. It has a very well-established power structure, and it stays royal to its universe thorough the show. Nobody is invulnerable and mistakes have real consequences, this anime, set in a brutal world that basically has no plot-armor, will not give you sunshine and rainbows if you are expecting those. But for those who want to enjoy a fantasy story on a realistic setting, look no further as no other anime does that this well.

The animation looks gorgeous and the soundtrack makes everything feel more alive than when you read it in the manga. The voice actors are amazing and do every character justice. The amount of production quality put into this is astonishing, but if any series deserves it, it's Akame ga Kill. If you're a manga reader of the series don't worry this is a great adaptation of this wonderful series with some changes near the end. And if you're a newcomer then I hope you will give Akame ga Kill a chance if you want to enjoy a fun, dark story with interesting characters and really solid plot.

This show is one of the weirdest ones in the anime community. So many people praise it as amazing but it honestly is kind of a weird pervy anime in disguise as something deeper. People talk a lot about this series being dark and realistic because no one is "safe" but that really just makes a hollow story with surface level characters and an unsatisfying ending. Also the world in this story is so bland and one dimensional where the good guys are good and the bad guys are cartoonishly bad to the point of the main group of assassins would never kill anyone without good reason so why even call them assassins? The few positive things I would say are that the fights can be pretty cool, the weapons are interesting, and if you do like looking at hot characters this is a good series for you. I woul…

the story is quite interesting and it is fun to watch, not only in the beginning but through the whole anime. there are a lot of different characters with each unique character design and personality. one minus point is that it feels a bit like a light harem anime, since somehow most girls are somewhat crushing on the main protagonist for no actual reason... (no spoiler) the end is realistic and i liked it that way. there is one character who is literally so annoying but the story does not rub it in your nose at all but rather the other way around, which feels very satisfying as well. still, it is no "wow" story- it´s just simple "good". it leaves room to think about right or wrong a bit but does not ask for it at all, it´s too shallow to call it a debate about right or wrong, bu…

Akame ga Kill is flashy, action packed, and an emotional roller coaster of an anime. This series is perfect for those who love dark fantasy and bloody fight scenes. Looking deeper into the characters, there's a lot of depth and attention to detail that may require multiple watches before understanding. The only down side is that this anime only has 24 episodes to squeeze as much content from the manga while at the sametime having it's own spin on the manga's story, which involves skipping a few story elements. However, the anime on it's own is great and may even prompt veiwers into checking out the manga as well as it's prequil series, Akame ga Kill Zero.

I have to commend this show for its boldness; the events across 24 episodes hit me on multiple emotional levels. The story grabbed me right away. Dark, intense, and full of unexpected turns, it never let me feel too comfortable, and I liked that. The characters were a big part of why I kept watching. They were fun and had just enough depth to get me invested in what happened to them (though I do wish a few of them had been developed a bit more). Visually, it looked great. The art style fit the mood of the series well, and the sound design and voice acting were solid. The action scenes were stylish and exciting, with some fights being genuinely memorable. I also appreciated how the show balanced its tone. It could be funny and light when it needed to be, but wasn’t afraid to get brutal o…

I originally made this review and score for the manga, but it was actually the anime that I watched. Plot: Akame ga Kill is basically about a boy from a small village, Tatsumi, wanting to work for the capital in order to send money back to his village. His dreams are crushed when he realizes that the empire is corrupt. He joins up with Night Raid, a revolutionary army of assassins designed to fight against the empire, in hopes to getting rid of that corruption. The Good: not much is good about this tbh, but it had a few good things. I liked the idea of imperial arms, that was good. Great animation and arm. The music was good. The bad: Art and music was wasted on this crap. Seriously, they gave this crap good animation but actual good manga are struggling to get halfway decent anime...…

Akame ga Kill is a show that's only good if you watched it when you're 14 years old. I can somewhat understand. Around 2016, a lot of "vulgar" media such as iDubbbz, Deadpool, and Sausage Party started gaining mainstream appeal with middle and high schoolers. Watching Akame ga Kill is the equivalent of watching that weird self-insert harem fanfic that weird kid made in 7th grade where all your classmates were into you and all the bullies got tortured and mutilated in the worst way possible. Plus, with lots of unnecessary swearing, mutilation, and rape. And honestly, that wouldn't even be so bad if the show didn't try to balance it all with quirky "lol so random" 2014-era comedy, fanservice, and your usual blasé anime tropes that would be more fitting with an ecchi slice-of-life (think an…

This is, in many ways, the kind of anime I never knew I always wanted. When people get mortally injured, they die. None of this "just a few weeks of rest" and you're back and stronger than ever. Every character is human, and has a human body with all its limitations. Of course this isn't the only anime that does this, but it was the first one that I saw that left such a lasting impression on me. I give this show a 10/10 because of how no character is immune to death. There's no plot armor for anyone, friend or foe, and every character is aware of the risks they take each day. That's what I believe earns this show a 10/10 in my books: The mortality that each character is aware they have, which was refreshing for me because when I first found this anime all the other shows I had seen were f…

Such a good show! So much arm cutting though? Does the author have a weird cutting fetish? But, nonetheless, what an enjoyable watch! Felt very reminiscent of real life, occupiers, resistance fighters and aspiring for justice in a cruel world… The characters were funny, the tiny tidbits between them before, during and after all the action is something that was a good break in between all of it. The art was pretty, very old style anime drawing, which I enjoy (personal preference). Don’t expect anything outside of the norm for this genre; it’s not that it was predictable, cause it wasn’t, it kept me on my toes, and I was engaged all throughout, wanting to find out how it ends. Gotta say once again, such an enjoyable watch.

I enjoyed the show because it's plot has the audacity of aggressively killing off all it's characters on a consistent basis, which makes it pretty unique among anime I've seen. Granted that's the only thing going for the show, and it gets pretty predictable halfway through the show, the most obvious one being when the show spent an entire episode on some gas mask villain who is actually such a great dad with a cute daughter and wife, then killing him off and trying to make it as sappy as possible, which just bounced off of me with an eye roll. The show is pretty mediocre otherwise, and I don't remember to much of it, but the main black hair girl is cool, and that's enough for to get me to watch.

I'm giving Akame GA kill a 7/10. It's a decent action anime with some interesting ideas, but it definitely has its flaws. The premise is pretty standard shonen fare: a naive country bumpkin joins a group of assassins fighting against a corrupt empire. The action is where Akame ga Kill! shines. The fight choreography is solid, and the Teigu (powerful weapons) are a cool concept. There's a good amount of variety in the battles, and they can be pretty brutal, which fits the overall tone of the show. The characters are a mixed bag. Some are genuinely interesting and well-developed, while others feel pretty one-dimensional. Tatsumi, the protagonist, is… well, he's your typical shonen protagonist. Akame herself is cool and deadly, but her character arc could have been more impactful. Some of the…

Request for Akame ga Kill! Remake Dear White Fox Studio, Hello, my name is Abdulmalik, and I’m a huge fan of your work, especially Akame ga Kill!. While I thoroughly enjoyed the anime adaptation, I couldn’t help but notice the significant differences between the anime and the original manga, particularly in the ending. The manga’s story and conclusion were incredibly impactful and would resonate deeply with fans if fully adapted. A remake that stays true to the manga would not only satisfy long-time fans but also attract a new audience to this amazing story. Your studio has proven its ability to deliver outstanding adaptations, and I believe a remake of Akame ga Kill! could become a masterpiece under your care. Thank you for your time, and I hope you’ll consider this idea. Best regar…
