Cat Planet Cuties

Cat Planet Cuties

Introduction

High school student Kio Kakazu leads an ordinary life in Okinawa. When attending his grandfather's commemoration, a chance encounter with an eccentric girl named Eris—whose body features resemble a cat—makes him pass out. After finally waking up, Kio is surprised to discover a half-naked Eris right next to him! She explains that she is from a planet called Catia, and her duty is to research Earth and expand her kind's social network. Due to the warm welcome she received from his family, Eris decides to live in Kio's house. However, the pair's idyllic situation is threatened when people from secret organizations—including his own childhood friend, Manami Kinjou—all aim to seize Eris. If Kio wants to leave a positive impression of Earth on Eris, he has to protect her at all costs and convince everyone that she is not a threat to the planet. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

a fun if predictable ecchi sci-fi/slice of life catgirl show! it does what it says on the tin. it's clear the show comes from a place of genuine love for sci-fi and there are nuggets of genuinely interesting plotlines here and there, as well as a cast of charming characters. however, as with most other ecchi anime the protagonist is a total wet blanket and it gets pretty aggravating watching a love triangle form over such an uninteresting guy. for an anime called cat planet cuties it focuses wayy more on the love triangle between two non-catgirls and the male protagonist.

When they first released this anime on Crunchyroll more than a decade ago, I recall being blown away by the animation and character designs of cast and it still does that...for the first several episodes until it appears the budget dried up and obvious long pans, stills, and recycling rear their ugly heads. The animation quality tanking and money-saving measures is a damn shame because the show works when it's at its horniest - beautiful and painstaking in the nude scenes of the early episodes. All the usual suspects appear: cat ears, huge milkers, plug suits, food-closeups, cig-smoking scientist, fast-food chomping American, gun porn, glamours car chases, etc. Sadly, even the fan service fades by later episodes which means the series has to lean on the played out harem tropes of a medi…

An anime with minimum effort to make a convincing story. The scriptwriter practically took all possible fetishes and threw them at your face, trying to make it look funny. And indeed, ANI is really a parody of anime sexual fetishes… and nothing else. For starters, this anime did the mistake of airing in a time when such shows are all over the place. It is not special in any way; neither does it try to offer anything out of the ordinary. In fact, it hardly tries to be average. Even if it aims towards the usual target audience of males who still find 2D interesting, there is nothing in it that other shows around the same time weren’t offering in spades. So yeah, bad first impressions. The prime fetish here is cat girls. You know; nekomimis and tails and stuff. Using that as a base, any oth…

If there is one anime that I could easily give a review for, that I have watched at least more than 30 times and that still holds a special place in my heart today, it is this anime. However, I loved "Asobi ni iku yo", but I still have to be honest with those who read me and I'll tell you, I can't really "highly recommend" this anime , however I wouldn't advise against it either. From what I think is that it's not an anime for everyone. It's neither excellent nor bad, it's 12 rather nice episodes (in the opinion of most of my acquaintances who watched it with me) and my fairly large 'experience' with anime type 'ecchi'... I can say without difficulty that it is one of the softest with in addition a main character neither annoying nor useless (compared to the majority of ecchi anime). To s…

the first couple of episodes remind me of those 80/90s action movies you know the ones where everyone wears a hawaiian shirt and ridiculous action scenes happen every 5 minutes and the guns they just look amazing and i even though it would be a somewhat serious show. when watching the first couple of episodes i was thinking "man someone who really liked those old movies and guns wanted to make this a thing but thought it wouln't sell well without several giant pairs of tits blocking the screen" but then it turned in to your usual non sensical ecchi and the cool gunfights and action scenes were replaced by some typycal space magic scenes you see in a lot of anime like this. Despite of what i just said I am not complaing it was good and I enjoyed it as your typical harem/ecchi trashman wou…

Welcome to another RTLR review! Dub is our poison as always. I gotta man up and admit that I am in no way an 'elitist' when it comes to anime, at least I don't think I am. I make no bones about watching harem and ecchi titles along with more 'emotionally mature' fare. This time tho, with Cat Planet Cuties, we have a whole lot of nothing, tired tropes, and nonsensical elements that all come together and make for a strangely entertaining series. Straight up, if fan service doesn't do it for you, then by all means consider the overall score a 1. If you do enjoy titles like Highschool DxD or To-Love Ru, then there's some fun to be had here, even if it comes with a little grain of salt. Story: 5 There's nothing to really write home about story wise, and that's okay, there's not really suppose…

Note: I am blinded by nostalgia. I first tripped across this show during the good old days in 2014, was still a little kid then, I would think the ecchiness who have mentally scarred me but it just made me love anime. As my first anime, I love it to bits. I would love a series continuation but alas that is impossible, I've tried to follow up the light novels but they really aren't being sold in English anywhere. This story is just about sexy aliens, in essence, and I thrououghly enjoyed it, I am rewatching it this year, you know, quarantine and all that. It's..........extremely sad, to see the reviews from 2010, knowing I wasnt really old enough to be concious of my activities and watch such a wonderful anime on release. And 10 years on, I am paying homage to an anime which utterly, ha…

What to say about this anime ... For starters, it is a complete garbage in terms of depth or mere character construction. It is clear that it is another (of the many) stereotypical anime harem + ecchi. Its function, basically, is to delight the male audience with a show of bulky, sexy women, with big breasts and huge desire to be with the pathetic protagonist. Really ... What's good about the protagonist? I believe it is another one of the surprisingly acclaimed "harem world"; clumsy, obviously perverted, lucky, prudish ... cowardly but correct, pfff ... could go on. The only good thing is the animation and, clearly, the erotic festival that the series provides (whether you're a man or not). I would put a worse score, but in some episodes it shows that at least they did not do the anime in…

I absolutely loved this series. The only downsides were the CONSTANT detrimental comments toward TREKKIES. Anyone who didn't watch the original series, isn't a trekkie. I'll admit, the other series are better, but if you don't know what it's based off of you miss the entire point of the series. ANYONE who watched and enjoyed the ORIGINAL series would have accepted the Catians as an alien race. Examples include in parenthesis (Andorians, Orions, and EVERY original series Vulcan and Klingon. VERY slight differences in all of them. The major changes in alien species were only apparent when Star Trek the Next Generation came along, which is when according to lore, Klingons purged the enhanced human DNA that they somehow acquired and returned to their "original" DNA imprint.

A IMP Review of: Cat Planet Cuties (Dubbed edition) (IMP stands for “In My Prospective”, meaning if someone attempts to correct the way i see the show i have no intention of reading any “corrections”) Story: Honestly… 3/10 there wasn’t a story I don’t know what to tell you. This show was basically “how much stuff from other anime can we jam-pack into our anime to make it seem cool?” the anime. Sure I could point out some “plot points” like how an alien race who look like humans but have cat ears and tails with advanced technology have come to earth to make peace but another enemy of the cats is already on earth and they are bad because… They are? Also 3 girls who have either “insert new girl here syndrome”, a SUPER SECRET job or have CrAzY carrier ideas, all seem to like some random guy w…

Anime: Cat Planet Cuties Genre: Action, Romantic Comedy, Harem, Science fiction Age Rating: Teen+ Studio: AIC+ Music: Tomoki Kikuya Author: Okina Kamino Dub/Sub: Dub Ecchi Level: Nosebleed (Boobs everywhere) OoOoO Honestly, I have no idea what to say about this one. I found this one on a whim and watched it...because I haven't seen a catgirl anime in a while I guess? Alright, so let's get this started. The story follows Kio Kakazu, your typical anime teenager who goes to highschool, has trouble with girls, yada yada. He goes to a party near the beach and ends up meeting a girl with startlingly realistic cat ears and tail. She also has more curves than the Absolute Towers in Canada, so that's a bonus I guess. Due to anime circumstances, she ends up in his bed at home, and when he wakes up…

Cat Planet Cuties (Asobi Ni Iku Yo!) A race of humanoid cats come to earth, bringing many misadventures along with them. Young Kio Kakazu is enjoying a party when he notices something strange, a young cat girl named Eris who doesn't quite belong. After realizing that she's not into cosplay, he gets wrapped up into some crazy antics. What can i say about this anime? If you enjoy an anime that's filled with Pop Culture references, and light hearted antics with lots of fan service, then you will enjoy this anime. If you don't, then i suggest you look elsewhere :) The story isn't anything amazing but it does it's job service ably enough. the animation is top notch but i expect nothing less from Madman Entertainment (Sailor Moon, One Piece, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Akira and more) thoug…

Dear readers, I have to tell you that this anime shows some lewd moments and if you don't want to see that, then you shouldn't watch it. It is only for a few moments though. I don´t think this story is quite well, because it is about aliens who try to befriend the human race, but you almost can't see any progress of that. And there are some slice of life episodes, but yeah you will always have that. The characters are semi-original. The boy who seems innocent, but has dirty mags under his bed. An innocent looking girl with glasses who is in love with the main character and is actually a secret agent who uses all kinds and a lot of guns. The childhood friend who tries to get work at the CIA and acts like a Tsundere. It is quite an older anime now, but it is still good. The art is fine,…

There will be some spoilers due to how the show wraps itself up being a main sticking point of the review. Fair warning. It took me a while to remember I even watched this show several years ago on a whim. But it all came back to me mostly on how simple it was. It was a short binge and there was nothing particularly wrong with the show itself, but there's really nothing to it mostly due to how short it was and a refusal to commit to any particular mood or genre entirely. It's rated as high as is purely because visuals are decent and what little plot there is is in one piece despite this. The premise is simple. Catgirl aliens have landed and are basically the best thing that's ever happened to humanity. The show tries to also play to the old "government conspiracy" trope by having various…

THIS IS A SPOILER FREE REVIEW (minus some detail from the first episode). From the tags alone, you know this is a little ecchi and a harem show. As such, you have some standard tropes such as the very deliberate buffet of girls of varying ages and breast sizes. You have the super-trope character types such as the loli, the childhood friend, the school friend, and the magical/space/angel girlfriend from nowhere who instantly falls in love with the boring, bespectacled main character who's too nice and stupidly oblivious to: * Notice or care about any of the sexiness around him * Stand up for himself when one of his girls beats him and throws things at him for things that totally aren't his fault. * Ever become anything more than a piece of the background. He's really only there to give…

Even though I am an old astrophysicist, I'm OK with the echii/harem genre -- sometimes I just want brainless fluff as a change. But this one, IMHO, transcends the genre by pushing all the tropes to maximum. The result is a parody of the genre achieved while staying absolutely true to to the genre, by which I mean there is no added self-mocking, "tongue in cheek" humor, or any material that "breaks the fourth wall". So it's funny in two ways at once. I've watched it two or three times and it's always charming. [BTW, if you like like unusual parodies and are a native speaker of the American dialect of english, watch some episodes of of Gakkou no Kaidan with the english dub (NOT the subbed version). Funniest stuff I've seen in years.]

To be honest, I almost felt embarassed when I first checked out a series that was called Cat Planet Cuties. I saw the trailer and my initial reaction was "Seriously? Cat Women?" As if the usual busty ecchi girls weren't sufficient, they had to add the cat ears and tails. But out of some sense of morbid curiousity, I checked out the first episode and was pleasantly surprised that I actually enjoyed it. And I made it through the full series. STORY - 6/10 It's difficult to accurately gauge a story that is so obviously tongue-in-cheek. Everything about Cat Planet Cuties seems like an effort to not take itself seriously, and so I think that a review has to take that into consideration. The story is silly and often makes no sense, but that's part of the show's charm - this is a series, after a…

For me, this was quite painful to watch. I powered through because I wanted to see how it ended, but I had to pause more than once to get the cringe out of my system before being able to go on. The most painful thing for me is that the tone of the show is serious, but many silly events occur and they are played completely straight. Almost every character has a ridiculous/exotic backstory, with no justification for why so many unusual people happen to be involved. If it were a silly-themed show this would be fine (see: To Love Ru), but the show's serious theme demands some kind of justification for the craziness which just isn't there. Piled on top of this is a heavy helping of some of the worst puns I've ever heard. The other major gripe I have with the show is that the writing seems l…

Asobi ni Iku yo, or in know in english as "Cat planet cuties" I will say looks phenomenal, but it immediately failed to disappoint me. The first episode did start off fairly well composed, with good action, and a semi decent plot. So here forth goes my third review. *There may be spoilers from this point on* The first problem I immediately had was that Eris was far too playful and secondly Kio far too weak of a male character. The second I had was the stereotype of dogs vs cats, only that it was reversed this time. I did not see the main goal of the dogs since it isn't clearly defined, or it was so poor that I over saw it as just a cat fan service fest since all but one of the feline aliens is a girl, short of a very vague image from the past in a memory of a character that comes later o…
