Let me start by saying that I just watched all three seasons of this back-to-back and that, going in, I had no idea what it was about (except that it had animal-ear girls).
The story starts off in a typical "isekai" flair--the main character Shinku (or something phonetically similar, depending on your translation) is summoned to another world to fight in a war as a Hero. Shinku is an incredible athlete in that he placed second in a Ninja Warrior-esque competition behind his mentor/rival; both of them happen to be in Middle School, by the way. After getting a quick explanation of what is happening, he heads off to war. Since "war" in this show equates to American Gladiators on an obstacle course (with large armies of people on either team), Shinku is able to quickly excel.
These encounter…

Overview:
5/10 story
5/10 art
5/10 sound
5/10 character
6/10 enjoyment
6/10 overall.
Summary: This is a silly, lighthearted and almost kids friendly anime, with some very light fanservice and nearly no darkness in it. It is by no means exceptional, but watching it leaves positive impression. So, it is not a masterpiece, but it is worth checking out. Summary: 5/10 The story is about athlete school boy that is sumonned into another world to fight in a war.... except the war is different from the one we're used to, it is fun and not bloody, and resembles sport tournament. And the world is populated with beast-people meaning cat-eared and dog-eared characters all around. There's some minor drama in it, with a hint of darkness, but the anime doesn't really go too far from light hearted natur…

DOG DAYS: Loved by most in the anime community and critiqued by few- Thus making it a highly recommended anime. I will be doing a fair review of it along with my up's and downs for the show.
Story-6.5/10
The story is so pure and even with amazing character's but the main problem most have with it is the lack of "danger" though rarely spoken about, along with it's "Slow" beginning were people- even me! expected a full-blown harem.
Art- 5.5/10
Bright and colorful with a typical animation rate. though it doesn't bring anything new to the table like NGNL. but it's familiar and doesn't put you off. The character's design's however are absolutely amazing. In my honest opinion, this color scheme fit's the world of Dog Day's with a pure sense of moe from the masses of essentially furry-half hu…

I love this anime, and I might even classify it as my favorite anime as of the time I'm writing this. So why would I give a show I love a 7? Simple, as much as I love this show and as many times as I've re-watched it, I'll be the first to admit that it's objectively flawed, and for the sake of actual criticism, I can't just ignore those faults.
Let's begin with the most common complaint I've heard about this show, the huge missed opportunity with the "Warfare Economy" that is explained in episode 3. They never actually explore this idea which makes a lot of people I showed this series to (and myself on my first viewing) wonder why it was mentioned at all. This did kill the show pretty quickly for a few of those people, so I will agree that this claim has a degree of validity.
The main ch…

Let me tell you a quick story of a man who was bored one lovely, chilly evening. He sat in front of the shining monitor as the dark of the night surrounded him, and thought to himself 'What should I watch now?'. To the dismay of his heart and mind, he hath stumbled upon the wonder of a simple name: Dog Days. And now, two days later, he whimpers in despair and cursing his past self for ever being bored.
TL;DR - pros/cons
+ Some great action scenes
+ Good sound effects
+ Not the worst thing ever
- Story
- Dialogue
- Characters - Plotholes galore
- Ending
Dog Days opened up as a chill, action-packed light adventure with colorful cast of characters and endless possibilities within its world, only to end up as an over-bloated mess that's so full of itself it makes most of the things you'v…

_______________
Really though, this show is a wholly example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Episode 1 is incredibly light and shallow, but the show blossoms into something much better by the end. All the characters are likeable and have their motives, so when conflict erupts, you can't just point to one side and go "those are the bad guys clearly in the wrong". Art is cutesy if not revolutionary, and all of the girls are best girl (except for the humans, they're lame) The show takes a war-game type approach, and paved the way for great shows like Mondaiji-tachi and No Game No Life, so that's cool I guess. If you too like touching fluffy tail I recommend this show.

What's interesting about any medium designed for entertainment is its ability to figuratively transport us to another world. Television, books, and anime all have this capability; we watch the drama unfold, read the words, and enjoy the antics, so much so that we feel as if we are somehow placed in this newfound creation. At times, we are also presented with the literal form instead of the figurative. That is, the story involves leaving an old world to be brought to a new one. Dog Days Season One is such a "tail," (I had to!) but is almost nothing more.
STORY
The story begins with Shinku, a middle school boy who is seemingly summoned to the distant land of Flognarde to fight as the country of Biscotti's "hero" to help them win their battles.…

If there was one word to describe this anime, it would be: ADORABLE!!! This is a kind of slice-of-life anime, but with some harmless action (however weird that sounds) and harem.
Story: There isn't much of an overarching story, just people living their lives in this beautiful and (for the most part) always peaceful world. There is a bit of an underlying plot where one character has to do things that they don't want to, for the sake of another person. But other than that there's nothing much to it.
But I think that's what makes it so enjoyable-you get to enjoy the world of Biscotti, with its cute characters and amazingly beautiful world. However, I do think they could have focused more on the world- maybe the main character could have gone on quests throughout the world so we could see d…

Now so many magical girls anime are around and about these days
But how about something that can be classed as "magical boy" anime? It's a rare occurrence and Dog days is one such.
The story of dog days is kind of forced on the viewer with not much of a proper explanation at first. It explains itself as it goes and you learn more and more about it as things unfold. However it does create many plot holes and loops in the differing worlds' stories as to how events in the real world are immensely unrealistic and utterly unexplained. That being said, Dog Days seems to focus not so much on the male protagonist but more so on the events happening in the alternate world and they do convey the story of such relatively well.
Art style is very cutesy. Some times too much so considering the type of…

Riddle me this; a boy has been summoned to a faraway land full of animal-human hybrids and has become the centerpiece of an on-going war between the kingdom of dogs and the kingdom of cats. This boy is thirteen, small in stature, incredibly gifted athletically, and always believes in the right way, as opposed to the wrong way; the way of evil and immoral purposes. Typically, boys like this are somewhat hard to come by, as thirteen year old boys are usually at the point of transition between childhood and puberty, in which case, their minds begin to wonder, about everything. So, to point out the fact that this boy, who was transported to a world predominantly controlled by colorful-haired, big eyed women, is so pure of heart, it's safe to say that there shouldn't be any issues with his lika…

Welcome to Flonyald! The land of the furries, and cities that are named after desserts! As a bored teenager looking for entertainment anywhere, I browsed through possible animes and found this, and looked at the art, then the tags, finding "shounen", questioning everything I thought that was in a shounen anime in the first place. This review is about Dog Days, and anime that I found to be...interesting.
Story (7/10): With the story being about a boy getting sent to a magical land of the furries where the main source of capital and entertainment came from wars, I was pleasantly surprised, as I had genuinely never though that such a plot could exist. While this idea was just amusingly strange to begin with, the story itself never really stood out as a focal point. There were times where th…

When I first saw this anime I thought, "Who would watch something like this? it looks stupid." But I still gave it a shot, and am now a major fan. This anime is great for first time watchers because it has a little bit of everything, without going overboard.
Cinque is a gymnastics master, athletic in every way possible. And he is also a hero. Not by choice of course. Princess Milchore of Biscotti summoned him to their world. A happy world that anyone would want to live in. In Biscotti, everyone is part animal, with little ears and tails for everything from rabbits to dogs. And every single one of them is adorable. Even their wars are adorable. The enemies line up to fight one another, but instead of dying, when 'killed' they turned into little fluffy animal plushies and are revived later.…

STORY:
There wasn't really much of a story to dog days. Some random guy got ported into a world full of dogs and cats, where they have friendly or not so friendly battles with eachother just for the sake of having battle(and money)(while typing that, a strange image of america came up with me, I don't know why). This kind of story has been done before, and it just had nothing new in itself(except for the cat and dog girls. Oh, there were guys as well, sometimes, in the background). So no a high score on the story part.
ANIMATION:
Dog days was very colorful, which I liked a lot. Because dog days is all about happy battles that sort of style suited it perfectly. I also liked it that the main characters were 10 times more detailed unimportant random battle dudes, who all had the same face…

Before watching Dog Days you have to drop the notion of battles/wars being about bloodshed and violence. You must also be willing to drop any harem related tendencies that you have accumulated throughout your past anime experiences.
All emptied out? good.
Dog Days is a lot different then your typical action/warring nation based animes. Wars are waged for pure entertainment and fun for both commoners and royalty. Wars are not meant to steal or harm each other, it is for pure bliss and thrill.
Story: 9/10
Personally I want to give it a 10 but seeing how I only write reviews for the animes I truly enjoy I can't just give every category a 10/10 so I'll cut back here and art.
The story revolves around our MC being summoned from earth to a foreign land where a desperate princess needs h…

Dog Days is a wonderful light-hearted series created by Masaki Tsuzuki, who also created Nanoha.
In Dog Days there is a magical world named Flonyard, where there are countries made up of different types of animal people. These animal people are not really animals, instead they just have animal ears and tails much like typical anime catgirls. The world has a magical barrier which allows residents to have military battles without physically being harmed. The different countries pool money together and use these fun mock-battles to entertain their people and keep their economies booming.
One particular country named the Biscotti Republic (most of the characters and places are named after culinary terms), a country made up of dog people, is having a bad losing streak. The dog-like pink princ…

I really love this anime! I was waiting so much for it to finally come out!
The story is great. Basically it is about an athlete boy who is summon to a fantasy world by a dog princess to help fight against the cat people. funny thing is the people don't die they just turn into little sqishy things which is humorous. And the last third of the show the plot takes a twist! (sorry not going to tell you cause that spoils it. you'll have to watch it yourself.)
What i didn't expect from show was the fanservice. I mean WOW it surprised me! since this anime isn't listed in the Ecchi genre. Thats what i like about these kind animes. they do things that you least expect.
Awesome characters Awesome action this is an anime to watch 10 of 10.

I honestly wasn't expecting much from Dog Days. I simply clicked and watched it for the sake of passing some time. However, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed watching the anime. Normally I don't watch shows with such a lighthearted atmosphere but I feel like Dog Days was able to pull it off quite well. Although there were several elements that I felt needed work, the majority of the series was enjoyable enough that it could be ignored.
(Some spoilers!)
First the story of the anime is somewhat weak. The hero is summoned to an alternate world so that he may fight in a war. Seems all good until you find out that the wars aren't actually wars. Critical thinkers while watching the anime may feel distracted by the fact that the "intense" battles the characters face are not as deadly. Howev…

COUGHCOUGHCOUGHthisisawelldonezeronotsukaimaCOUGHCOUGHCOUGH.
So this is one of the series that combines almost all the cliches into one anime, but, it does it well. Or something like that.
Story: 7
So we have our tipical "chosen-one" plot, when somebody somewhere in the world gets sucked into another dimension for good. In most series, the chosen one acts like a complete retard, asking everytime what to do. But this anime breaks completely this tradition, and the chosen one practically DESERVES to be the chosen one.
In the other dimension, two kingdoms-or-whatever-they-are are in a "war", and the -apparently- good kingdom needs more attack power, and is forced to summon a person from other dimension that helps.
This kingdom, Biscotti, ends up summoning Izumi Cinque, a 13 year old boy wi…

I just completed Dog Days less than 24 hours ago, so I'll post a quick review of the show for now.
STORY:
It has been four years since the disappointment that was Mahou Shoujo StrikerS, and I can see that the writers from Seven Arcs really learnt their lesson from it. Initially I thought Dog Days would be like another StrikerS, having only one complicated story arc and such. But no. Instead, the writers decided to give Dog Days a different approach by having many mini story arcs.
And what do the audience benefit from this? A show with a simple plot line and excellent pacing. I wasn't confused by the story in Dog Days as I was in StrikerS. I don't need to shut down my laptop and cool down to think over what the characters were talking about in the last episodes I watched. Instead, Dog D…
