Astarotte's Toy

Astarotte's Toy

Introduction

Succubi, like the young princess Astarotte "Lotte" Ygvar, require the life seed from men to survive, replenish their magic, and continue the royal lineage of the magical realm. This means succubi are required to keep a harem of men close at hand. Ironically, Lotte despises men, which will put her life at risk once she matures. To convince her to fulfill her duties, one of her attendants, Judith Snorrevik, goes to the human realm to find a human male whom Lotte can tolerate. Judith returns with 23-year-old Naoya Touhara, a single father who unfortunately leaves his daughter, Asuha, behind in the human realm. As the first member of Lotte's harem, Naoya quickly adapts to this new environment, serving the princess to make her happy, rather than viewing her with sexual intent. Unfortunately, when his daughter is allowed to arrive in the magical realm, Naoya's relationship quickly worsens with Lotte. Even so, he strives to patch up their relationship. It soon becomes clear, however, that Naoya's presence in the magical realm is more than just mere coincidence. As he develops his bond with Lotte, fate begins to pull together the connections that tie him and everyone else within this enchanting world. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

It’s a good anime for fans of ecchi. The characters have great designs and entertaining personalities. Although it isn't entirely faithful to the manga, that isn't necessarily a bad thing—after all, some stories end up making more sense in the anime than in the manga. Still, some characters from the manga are missed in the anime. Astarotte plays the tsundere role well; despite appearing to harbor hatred, she actually loves Naoya. The fan service is also well-placed—truly a nostalgic touch for all genuine otaku. Bringing forward certain elements that take longer to appear in the manga was a good strategy for fitting the story into a 12-episode season; it also allows for a more serious treatment of dramatic aspects, such as the relationship between Mercelida and her daughter, where Astarott…

When watching anime it's best to keep an open mind. The storytelling tells you all you need to know about the smallest details and decisions that others may not consider. Stay neutral whenever isues of morality gets involved and attempt to understand it from all perspectives. 1. Storyline - start to finish 2. Characters and information - how the characters are involved and how the information and backgrounds are explained. 3. Moral indicators that separate from basic right or wrong. It's easy to say good vs bad, right vs wrong, red vs blue, black and white. But the fact is humans can do disgusting things as happen and it's human nature. But this is different, seems like it's attempting to justify the morally difficult choices of one's true nature. This shouldnt be justified it's j…

[EN/PT-BR] [EN] This anime is clearly lolibait, and there's no reason for you to watch it unless you're a lolicon. (In my defense, I didn't know the characters' ages before I started watching; I only found out while watching). Knowing the anime niche, it's not difficult to find anime with questionable themes. Astarotte no Omocha! is one of them, not because it's grotesque or bizarre, but because an ecchi anime between a 10-year-old succubus loli and a 23-year-old adult isn't very normal. Besides this dynamic being somewhat illegal, the repetition of talking about sucking you-know-what in the anime makes you question the Japanese creator of this work. Thank God the ecchi in this anime isn't like High School DxD. Remembering that this anime features children, the creator didn't overdo the…

Astarotte no Omocha! (Lotte's Toy) is one of those rare anime that perfectly blends fantasy world-building, heartfelt character growth, and just the right dose of cheeky, unapologetic ecchi humor. At its core, it's the story of Astarotte "Lotte" Ygvar, a young succubus princess in a magical realm who must confront her deep-seated hatred of men as she approaches the age where her biology demands she starts forming a harem of her own (succubus, remember?). The writing is smarter than it has any right to be. Lotte’s trauma and gradual trust in the MC actually land emotionally, the side characters are hilarious without being one-note, and the Norse-inspired world-building is just creative, there's no other word for it. The animation is colorful and expressive, and every gag hits exactly where…

A pedophilic show, dressing as a romantic comedy. The reason is clear if you see Rie Kugimiya in the voice acting cast; she is voicing nothing else but loli tsunderes in romcoms. And it’s not like the similarities end just with her name; the entire show is basically a rehash of the anime she gained her fame in the past. “Meek boy summoned to a magic world to serve as butler a rich spoiled loli tsundere” is basically a fusion of Familiar of Zero with Hayate no Gotoku. And just like those aforementioned anime, Astarotte no Omocha has very little plot and lots n’ lots of jail-bait. To be completely honest, this anime is far better than the other two, no matter if you hate or like such shows. If you hate them, it lasts only 12 episodes thus your suffering ends much faster. If you love them, it…

The first princess is told to add a male to her female-only harem, with the idea of preparing for when she matures. This harem is pretty people, not any actual sex, more people to deal with her own abandonment issues from her mother. As a succubi, though she needs a man or man when matures to keep youth, beauty, life. Unfortunately, the messenger from her kingdom pretty much grabs the first guy she sees, offers him a large amount of money, to play the man who wins the princess's heart and needs her his life seed and he will continue to cash in. So we have a 23-year-old, father of a 10 year being moved to a castle with generally a 10-year-old princess, not creepy at all; and her attaches. As well as the monetary compensation, he asks his daughter can come. Its harem'y will be a bit creep…

I watched this anime only because I heard the ED on an anime playlist and fell absolutely in love with it. The story sounded terrible but it's only 12 episodes long so I figured why not. Let's start with the good points; like I mentioned, that soundtrack. The ending song should be up there in anime karaoke, it is truly one of the sweetest, loveliest songs I've ever heard. Also, strangely enough, I actually didn't hate any of the characters. Most of the time, I usually end up disliking a character and I ESPECIALLY CANNOT STAND TSUNDERES. Particularly Kugimiya Rie-voiced tsunderes (she's great but her tsundere characters are all literally the same character). Strangely, I didn't actually dislike the main tsundere girl as much as I normally would. The bright perky friend who's loved by everyo…

The biggest disapointment with this show is the synopsis, with is very misleading to the point of false advertising. If after reading the provided summary you were expecting to appease some loli-bukake fetish you fallen into the trap as well. I'll put it this way; There's more hot action in the Disney animated movie "Peter Pan", from the '40s. This show would be much better received if the script writers had changed the few references to the collection of "the life seed from men" to instead perhaps something akin to marriage, and covered the handful of bare bottoms a bit more than they already have been, then the show could have dropped the ecchi pretense completely and attracted a much wider audience, and likely much better sales. The story that actually is here (had it been presented m…

Its a good show in surprisingly weird ways. But its tags here are completely misleading, it should probably be considered slice of life instead of romance. It is slice-of-life because it focuses on random daily shenanigans and ignores any overall plot for the majority of the show - 90% of plot development happens in the last 6 minutes and during the credits of the last episode. Any semblance of romance in it is better interpreted as just a parent-child-like relationship. And in some ways it might be better for your sanity to not even consider it ecchi - it is full of jokes about panties and/or the lack thereof, but mostly on 10yo kids, and MC and all other grownups around treat it as just a stupid kid's quirk. Watch it for the laughs, not for the lewds, or at least claim so in public.…

Astarotte no Omacha! is an isekai, yes an isekai from 2011, so we follow the MC Noaya and his daughter start the day by him finding a new job, while his daughter is at school. He encounters the Yggdrasil tree transporting him into new territory and meets Lotte. In the other side of that world, Lotte one day wanted to find a partner, but she was disgusted at Men from her world (from past events in life). An accident occurred in the tree leading her to accidentally teleport to a world connected to Noaya, so she opened a portal, not knowing that it would lead her to a new partner. this just a little insight on what the plot is. Story was well, not the best but it shined at times. Art was something from 2011, I did not expect much. Sound was below average, it played the same music in more em…

A beautiful age-gapped romance that isn't afraid to push social stigma and boundaries! The plot is obscenely brilliant. It also has plenty of much needed fan-service. Personally, I would give this a 9.5 / 10. If not for the plot, then for the underlying theme of the entire series. It's bold, unapologetic in it's context matter. That being said, this series is not for the easily offended, or those who have moral dilemmas against age-gapped relationships. But, if you're a cultured person, you should very well enjoy this! Critically speaking, this anime is a bit cliche with it's "whoops, slipped into a portal to another dimension by mistake" but that's to be expected at this point.

I'm going to make this short so we can all move on with our day. The show isn't that bad, but more uncomfortable than anything. The story isn't a main priority in this show and relies more on the fan service and characters to keep it afloat WHICH ISN'T ALWAYS BAD IN ANIME! The characters though I FEEL didn't grow as well beyond Astarotte and arguably Naoya. As a result most of the other characters are just there to fill some kinda role. This could be anything from cutesy, comedic (most of the time), or just straight fan service. The music wasn't anything to right home about. It did it's job and just added to the feel of the show, but no tracks really stood out for me. The OP and ED I skipped everything so take that as you will. The animation and art style in this show is probably it's bes…

Oh boy, I've got some explaining to do, don't I? So to start off, this Anime is by far the most endearing, heartwarming, and genuine Anime I have seen to date. The biggest appeal to me is certainly the connection between the two main characters: a girl who has nothing going for her in life, and a guy who comes in and turns it all around for her. Personally, I'm a sucker for restorative aspects in stories like this. Add in a bunch of hilarious supporting characters, simple yet beautiful music, and a finale arc that almost broke my heart, and you have an amazing experience, almost tailored to what I like to see in anime. Now, I'll address the elephant in the room, which are the reasons why I could reasonably see someone turned off by this anime. From the age gap of the romantic pair, to th…

The only way I'm even able to go through watching this is because I'm watching it with my friends. I literally made an account just to talk about how much I hate this anime. It may look like a fun happy cutesy story somebody can watch and have a pretty good time. But really its just boring, disgusting, and is basically pedophilia. The only way you can enjoy this is if you basically ignore the fact that this anime is about some twenty-year-old guy (who for some reason has a female voice actor?) who basically has to get it with a bunch of little girls. It also has some other dude who falls in love with the protagonist (who is a little girl) and he's much older than she is. There's a whole bunch of other examples I could put out here to prove how disgusting this anime is but I think I've prov…

Story: so the story pretty much starts out with Lotte who is ten and now with her coming of age and being a succubus she has 2 start making a harem or atleast find a guy for her harem that of course she has a problem with because she does not like guys she a guy named Naoya comes into the fold after being sent into her world by a tree also it wont stay there until he can have is daughter is there and also the fact (dont wanna spoil much) that he had a kid when he was 13 yup lol but otherwise look at myanimelist thing of it and thats pretty much the anime Art: art was good nothing bad about it Sound: i wont download the Op or Ed at all didnt really care for them that much ohterwise everyone sounded good Character: will first state that all the side characters were good otherwise lets ge…

If you've gotten further than the description of this show, you're probably wondering how low of a MAL rating you're willing to tough out for 12 episodes of loli fanservice. If it's fanservice you're looking for, you're in luck, because there's tons of it. Unfortunately, besides the plethora of pantie shots, skirt lifts, ridiculous outfits designed to facilitate these things, and brief moments of semi-nudity, there's little else worth mentioning about this show except how bad it is. There are some shows that take a ludicrous premise and make it work - where they could have just gone with predictably lewd, they surprise with at least a modicum of character depth or stories that consist of more than just an excuse to see the characters wearing (or not) various outfits in a variety of ridic…

Astarotte is about a fantasy world with a lot of fantasy ideas thrown in. In Astarotte-land, the inhabitants think of humans as fairy tale creatures and pray to the world tree loosely based off of Norse mythology, which happens to connect different worlds. Astarotte-land is ruled by succubi, creatures that live off by "sucking" essence off others. In this world we find princess Kugimiya er... Astarotte who is a typical tsundere loli that hates males, which makes her life miserable since she must rely on male "essence" once she becomes an adult. After hearing about the rarity of humans, Astarotte boasts that she will start her "harem" only if her servants bring her a human male. You should clearly see where this is going... Astarotte is your typical fan-service-filled comedic romance with…

THIS CONTAINS A LOT OF SPOILERS SO YOU CAN READ WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO IF YOU DECIDE TO WATCH IT OR NOT AND FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO READ A REVIEW WITH SPOILERS AND SKIP 4 HOURS OF MEDIOCRITY IN 2 MINUTES... Story I really was enjoying this anime for the idea it has from the episodes 1 to 6 with the fatherly love that may seem is there, but i was dissapointed half way through because things are not like that, wanting to put together a 10 year old girl with a 23 year old guy, but to make the things less uncomfortable in their eyes they made the main dude Naoya look like a 15 y/o boy and to top that he was ''raped'' (as seen in the OVA) by Lotte's mother the queen Marcelida when he was a kid and they had a baby named Asuha, who in fact is Lotte's elder half sister. It's never explained why…

Please note: The story explanation you get before watching is NOT accurate! There is NO sex in this. Story: Light hearted, much of the time. I enjoyed it, and it was sweet, well written, but please don't take the OVA as canon, if you watch it. Plot holes and they act as if the last 2 episodes never happened. Art: Pretty good, except some of the faces. Not much else to say about it. Sound: Actually quite well done in this show. I liked it. Character: Iffy. Developed quite well for Lotte, okay for her mother, and barely for anyone else. Over all, this was a good watch, and although I am picking at it a bit here, I suggest watching it. And remember, there is NO sex in this. But there is ecchi to it 'till the very end. Just not loads of it, as they wanted to develop characters.

This is the first review I've written, so just a little disclaimer about how I review things. I'm a pretty generous reviewer. So this might just be a 10/10 out of nowhere. Also, some anime's that people don't necessarily think as great shows, well... I do. For some reason, certain shows that people sort of hate, I really enjoy. And just letting it out right now, this show was so awesome. :~) Shit man. this is one of the greatest rom com thingy shows i've seen. after getting back into anime for having not watched any for a long period of time, this show turned me into an emotional little girl for a little bit. true, there are some sort of incestuous themes kinda going through. Sort of? Yeah. But that doesn't ruin the show whatsoever. Holy shit man, this show is so cute. It might just be…
