This is one of those diamond-in-the-rough ecchi anime that are so easily forgotten. Having just been reminded of this again recently I gave it a watch, and remembered why I enjoyed it...and didn't enjoy it. I'll be blunt - this has some great fanservice, passing animation, and a plot that isn't worth writing home about. But for what it is? It's enjoyable, with exception to the final episode, which drops the ball a bit IMO. If you're looking for an ecchi anime to call your own, this might be what you're looking for. If you're not here for the fanservice, go ahead and skip it.

Really great and underrated ecchi anime! The premise and style are very unique in a way that puts modern anime to shame. Especially for the time this came out, this was very original and different.
Way before "There's no freaking way I'll be your lover" and "Gushing over Magical Girls" this was probably the first yuri harem anime. It's also TS (transsexual) yuri, which makes it even more rare! All the girls are gorgeous with great chemistry, Natsuru (the MC) in particular. They all get great fanservice scenes and illustrations too, especially during the little title cards that come after commercial breaks.
The plot isn't bad, but it unfortunately is pretty underdeveloped and mostly goes unresolved at the end of the story. There are a few twists but the vast majority of things are left un…

Magical girls with some added spice. Nothing could go wrong... right?
Story: 5
Average as average can be. The main problem here is that nothing from its genres work. Action? There are some, but almost every scene ends in "comedy" or "romance" or both. Comedy? The same jokes over and over again and they are not even good for the first time. Romance? Simply pointless here, since no one has any chemistry with the other. The title trying to be an ecchi one, but somehow it's a torture to wait them out. The whole story could be much better.
Characters: 7
There are some decent ones, but even the main cast is just there for most of the time. They can be really annoying.
Art: 5
Average.
Animation: 7
They put a lot of effort in the transformations, they are actually good.
Music and sound effect…

Let's be real, if you plan to or have watched this show to the end, you did not do it for the plot. The plot is non-existent and if you try to follow it, you're almost doing yourself a disservice. I'm sure it was more flushed out in the manga, but this is the anime where you're watching Kampfer fight for no reason at all. Their justifications for the continuation of the plot or a fight scene is sprinkled between a million suggestive scenes that only get wilder and wilder as the show goes on.
It was one of the stupidest shows I've ever watched and you'll see that I rated it a 4 - "Bad". That being said, I loved it.
If you just embrace the fact that they are trying show you (here's the copy-and-paste from MAL listing page) Action, Comedy, Romance, Ecchi, Harem, Magical Sex Shift, and Schoo…

Kämpfer kicks off with a nonstop beating‑fest and heaps of fanservice, but it soon trips over its own thin plot and a tone that just flips for no reason. The first 11 episodes are pretty much fight after fight—and when they finally remember to drop a line about the Kampfers’ origin, it’s in a super quick bullet‑point before they dive right back into brawling, you know? The jokes aim for laughs but kinda land with a thud, and the romance feels so forced it gets weird. Even the ecchi—which could of been the saving grace—shows up at all the wrong moments and kills whatever fun was left.
Visually, it’s solid—way better than a lot of stuff out there—but pretty pictures alone don’t fix a story that leans too much on crutches. Any little thread they introduce just disappears in those endless bat…

a shit show but a decent shit show, i guess? by harem standards, it passes the test but overall enjoyment wise, it was meh. my biggest gripe with this show was the god awfully, emotionally dense MC. i mean like there's being unaware that someone is into you and then there's just you being dumb as hell. MC falls into the second category. the girls were okay, not really memorable or impressionable characters. only character i liked was the student council president, only because she seemed to be the only person that could actually fucking think and use her brain.
onto the MC. if it wasn't clear, i hate him. i genuinely don't think he even realizes that the other girls were into him which just made the whole show annoying to watch. dude was obsessed with sakura the whole show while being co…

If I had to describe this anime in one word it would be the word broken. As if a tornado just blew through a house but you can still see that there was a house there. The plot is broken, the world is broken, the characters are broken. So much of it is messed up that it's hard to know where to start.
Characters in this show just don't feel like people. They feel like dolls that only go, talk or feel if they have a quest marker telling them to. No matter where a person would actually go, what a person would actually say or what a person would actually feel doesn't matter. Had the plot actually been logical or sensible then I would have just thought of it as lazy writing, but as it is it would even be hard to even call it writing. It's hard to give any example but stuff just happens without…

Now this was a fun one. What's interesting is how it's a Yuri Harem Comedy while also not being a full Yuri due to the fact that our main Hero/Heroine Natsuru Senou is a guy who is a Kämper (Girls with special powers whose only job is to fight each other) so he has girls coming after his Girl & Guy form. So only a Girl can be a Kämper so you might ask well how can Senou be one if he's a guy, well he has a bracelet that fully transforms him into a girl at random for random periods of time (at least at first) however this alternative Kämpfer version of him is extremely popular with all the girls at school many of which just declare their love for her straight away.
This leads to a lot of the comedy as Senou has to navigate through these would be lovers while also fighting enemy Kåmpfers as…

This is one of those "Beautiful Dumpster Fire" type animes.
This show is filled to the brim with nonsense and stupidity, and half of the show's mysteries are left unexplained. This show would, much to the dismay of many people who have reviewed it, actually benefit from another season, specifically because of how nonsensical and, therefore, mediocre the story ends up being. Having another season to clear up some misunderstanding and lack-of-info would be a huge benefit to one of this show's main downsides, that being the story makes no ()ing sense. Despite that, I enjoyed the show, it has the same crappy art style as all of the 2005-2015 NSFW series, which is a downside, and the voices, especially in the dub, are all pretty atrocious, but everything else is fine. It has a unique concept t…

The story, if it is true, does not make much sense, for example, I understood it by reading the manga and there I was able to understand and know how everything ended, but everything else seems fine to me, the graphics in the anime seem very acceptable to me and the lesbian content and harem well, those are things that are seen from time to time.
If it is because of the harassment of the protagonist, we are going to agree that the majority wanted to be harassed more clearly, this always depends on the taste of the viewer because someone who does not like this type of obvious content should not see it, if they want start should see another.
The truth is that I really liked this story and I would like them to get more content in the illustrated anime of the manga. For me 10/10.

In most of my reviews, I break it down in each category; story, art , yada. With Kampfer, all of that is out the window. The biggest reason is simple: this anime as a whole is so mind-numbing in the sense of forgettable and mediocre, the characters, story, sound: one ear and out the other!
If you wish to know the plot of this whole lot of bog-standard: The main character is a fighting girl, but oh my, he's actually a guy, and turns into a girl almost randomly in the first half , hm , three quarters of the anime. Boom there's the plot.
The whole kampfer thing with girls fighting each other is almost entirely not told. The mysterious 'moderators' controlling the game . Who are they? Why is this happening? It isn't told to us. Why? THIS SHOW IS NOT ABOUT FIGHTING. For five minutes at the…

Where do I even begin to tell you how good Kampfer is? Kampfer is the ONLY anime out there where the main plot involves (Gender Swapping) There's only a handful of animes out there that even has gender-swapping and by far this anime is the best out of all of them. I've searched all of Google and there are only a few animes where the main character becomes a girl (Temporarily) and they never become a girl again but here we have this gem this Anime called Kampfer which really shows off their plot in every episode. We aren't here to watch this show Solely on the story but the enjoyment we get when a tuff main character becomes a shy girl, There's plenty of good scenes in this anime that all weebs will enjoy but sadly this anime is very underrated because 126,686 users decided to rate this bea…

I just saw all the episodes of Kämpfer, and I have to say, I gave it a one. Why?, at first I really hated everything, the characters, the fan service, and most importantly there was no plot, the anime was just aimless, it was just about Shenanigans, until I realized how much greater it would be if the character's parents where there, and when I had just finished episode eleven, I thought I would just give it a two or a three since I enjoyed some of the wackiness, but some of it was really cringe inducing...
Episode 12 was the final nail in the coffin, at the first minute I had to put it at two times the speed, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was just a mess, the episode just ignored everything that the other episodes "built on" although it didn't have much, I wasn't expecting…

Kampfer exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed it far more than I expected to and likely more than I should have. Like a lot of shows, if you start to over analyze it or question it excessively along the way, you may find yourself hating on it constantly. I feel like far too many people approach anime reviews in such a fashion. You can't watch an anime like this and then downrate it for the number of 'accidental' sexualized situations the main male protagonist finds themselves in or how innocent and clueless they react to those situations.
Story: 6/10
Girls required to fight each other? Sure. Whatever. Don't question it or get hung up on that. Main male protagonist turns into a hot girl 75% of the time? Sure, lets go with that. Hey, it means we can get our helping of sexual tension and t…

First thing you need to know about this anime is if you don't have the OVAs from Fur De Liebe, you don't have the full anime and the story is incomplete. If you can't get the OVA's on DVD/BlU-Ray or stream them just stay away. The reverse is also true. None of this stands on their own.
The second thing you need to know is the episode numbering and the only reasonable viewing order are different. The correct viewing order is episodes episodes 1-11, OVA 1. Then 12 and OVA 2 in any order you like, if at all. Knocked a point off the story score for this problem. OVA 2 is a problem on its own. Chances are good you just don't want to watch it as it ups the ecchi factor and starts to go places that are out of tune with the rest of the series.
Well the third thing you need to know is, "Will Yo…

So, I actually enjoyed this one much more than I thought I would. The "story" is that high school girls called kampfer are divided between colors and must fight kampfer who are not their color for this unknown group of higher position. The reason why they fight remains unclear even when they reveal it. We never actually meet any of the higher ups to have them explain it. So it's one of those anime that really has no story. It's just there to make you laugh and occasionally feel seduced by the vice president. Despite this being a pointless anime, I still enjoyed it and would definitely cosplay the VP--- She is the best character in the show by far. Sorry MC, but you're kinda boring.

Story 10/10

It's truly a show that shows about as much promise as you could expect from a combination of Comedy/Ecchi/Harem and Action/Magic, except somehow misses most of those marks. Everything this does, something else has done far better... and sparse few have done worse.
The story is actually really bad. It starts with a dumb premise to begin with. You'd be forgiven for actually thinking that there will be payoff of any sort or an actual explanation as to what the hell is even going on... but there isn't. It's just a circlejerk for 11 episodes and a sad, sorry excuse for an ending that doesn't actually do anything. Well it actually does do something... it introduces characters that are more interesting because they are likely to never get more screentime than they need to be badguys. Ergo less s…

So, this is going to be the first review about anything I have ever watched, and this is the perfect anime to start with, because it is simply terrible. I simply cannot keep silent about this terrible/horrible/disgusting/appalling anime. Let me explain you why.
Story (1/10):
I will not write anything about the story because you can read other reviews or a synopsis about it. But in short: It is simply amazing how bad it is. There is no backstory about the whole "Kämpfer" situation. It is just there so the protagonist can be a girl, good reason right? Then there are these talking stuffed animals. They have no real reason for existing, except for being super annoying.
It is a harem anime, so the story develops around that fact. However, it is worked out so badly it made me cringe all the ti…

I don't even know what this whole thing was suppose to accomplish? A transvestites wet dream maybe?! I don't care what you are into, as long as you are also into plot that actually functions. In no way did this story ever cohesively come together. There were just blankets of obvious fan service. I should also mention the already ridiculous plot is never explained or concluded in any meaningful way. You never get answers to any of your questions, not to mention the twist is also pretty odd. It seemed cool at first and you thought they may go somewhere cool with it, but then they make it even more convoluted and it ended up actually making no sense at all. Also EP12 seems to be separate from the rest of the show and maybe not cannon? It makes zero sense too. In fact it makes the shower 30x m…
