It was still good as it is, but I wish it had been an anime series instead of a movie. That way, it wouldn't have had to rush through everything, and the characters could have been developed much better. Even the time skips would have felt more natural. I think this movie would have worked much better as the origin arc covering the first half of a season.
The movie tries to fit far too much into just an hour and a half. Even so, I really liked the overall concept; after the first 30 minutes, I was even thinking of giving it an 8/10.
The combination of ninjas, science fiction, and superheroes was really interesting.
I'm not sure if it'll ever get a continuation, but the ending feels exactly like the beginning of a TV series. If it ever gets an anime series, I'd definitely watch it…

Overall, this film is a mix of Batgirl, Robo-Dog, and X-Men with cute anime girls and incredible animation.
It has a fairly generic anime plot, but despite that, I had a fun experience with this film. The action sequences are fluid, dynamic, and expertly choreographed, immersing the viewers in thrilling and intense battles. The visual design, character animations, and attention to detail contribute to the overall high production value of the film.
The film also delves into deeper themes such as identity, family bonds, and the moral implications of revenge. Rikka's character development is explored as she struggles with the choice between being a scientist like her father or a ninja like her grandfather.
Black Fox has many weaknesses, apart from being very generic. Everything unfolds too…

For a movie that was originally planned to release in a serial format Black Fox is actually pretty well done. In these short 90 minutes 3Hz Studios really tries their best to introduce you to the characters and their motivation as well as the plot itself. However because of the little amount of time they had to work with the content in the movie feels a bit rushed and some scenes are missing build up to make them as emotional or intense as they were portrayed.
It's because Black Fox got released as a movie that especially the story is suffering. Many questions remain unanswered which, yes, is normal, because the story doesn't find an end in the movie. However even then some things should have been further explained or resolved but you can feel how 3Hz Studio just didn't have the time to d…

It's amazing how people don't hear themselves before writing a review or realizing they can have an ACTUAL opinion about something. The storytelling is simple, it is consistent and intriguing. You get to know a girl that since her childhood has been trained to become a proud successor of a family of samurais. Then you meet her father, a scientist that is in search of developing IA as a helping hand against different adversities, considering one of them the massive company that has to sneak his way to control a city without even letting their intentions be seen.
This girl tries to fight his past and future deciding which family path should she take while figuring out what she can be. I totally disagree with "it is a cliché". Little by little we are can spect BIG TOPICS to be assumed in mo…

Story: 6/10
The story is not very invited for those watching. Right away, i was greeted with a revenge story, that revolved around a pathetic motif, inflating the ego of someone who had everthing, but who has learned nothing from the very memories of those she loves so much. Besides the story only works only when it suits, it also wastes some resources and not explain many of then. Stay here a positive point, the transition to comedy is very cool, works and it's fun.
Art: 8/10
In question geral, the art is very good, and final point. But you can't not comment on the background characters. Sloopy features that draw atention, even when they don't need.
Sound: 10/10
If have one thing i can congratulate, tha's the OST. As muchl as fight scenes as in everthing else, the Sound is very great. C…

When the final shot of the trailer is also the final shot of the movie, something has gone seriously wrong.
Original projects are usually a lot more interesting and creative than established franchises, but there is a caveat that when one falters, it brings far more down than an adaptation would.
Black Fox is a movie that feels like a draft screenplay of itself. The main plot and central characters have been planned out, and in a vacuum are decent, but everything else feels completely rushed. Be it up to me, I'd have asked for the whole movie to be given a serious once-over before release, lest it end up as mundane as it actually did.
----
The plot is two entwined; the first being a revenge story, and the second a superhero origin. These work together, and I'd argue are pulled off very…

Not a bad movie by any means, but nothing great either. It ends up being a kind of "superhero origin story" type narrative, which isn't bad but ultimately cannot overcome a lot of clichés.
If I knew a second movie or tv series was going to follow up on the plot, I would watch it, since its conclusion is rather open-ended. In terms of the studio, Studio 3Hz, I found Flip Flappers and Gun Gale Online to have much better animation and aesthetic appeal than this movie. However, if you're looking for a little inspiration, you may find some here.
Story 7/10
Average and full of clichés. Nothing you haven't seen before in anime. I liked how the main character Lily was conflicted between being like her ninja grandfather or her scientist father, and how she could be both. However, the movie moved…

Black Fox feels like a recap movie for a full series. The story, the characters, and especially the pacing didn't really help to make that sensation go away. Even though that is a problem, the series that was seemingly being recapped was actually not necessarily bad.
The part that suffered the most from that "recap" feeling were the characters. Some character interaction is missing, especially among the three main caracters. Their relationships develop in just a few scenes, they could have definitely have been given more time seeing how it's a very important part of the film. Furthermore, it felt like some character-driven moments had been omitted, and because of that some of the revelations and the surprises that happen later in the movie, feel like they lack buildup, or like they don't…

This movie gives me Marvel vibes after watching it. I like the animation and the plot is alright. But after the time-skip the plot flatten. So, I don't know how to respond to that at all. I thought is going to be a series at first, however, it seems the people working on it gave second thoughts on it, and turned it into a movie.
They should have worked the story a little more better. I don't mind about the characters, I do like how they animated the fights. But the story kinda went flat afterwards.
As for the characters (6/10) for their personalities. But the doctor guy who went insane because the main character father was better than him is the oldest poor plot (1/10)
These are just my thoughts.

I'm dissapointed because it was actually enjoyable.
So for those of you who don't know, this was supposed to be a TV series, most probably a 2 cour one that had production problems and was semi canceled, so this is basically what they salvaged out of that.
The first 22 minutes are fantastic and that's because that was supposed to the first episode. After that it gets noticeably fast paced, uneven character personalities, akward character development and the movie ends without even confronting the main villian.
It's sad because it was still somewhat enjoyable. I liked the characters, the setting, the music, the atmosphere and this really could've been a really chill action ninja Anime but unfortunately it got lost in production hell
It's a pity really

this is my first review, here i go.
story 4/10: the story was cliche, has a plot hole in a way, and reminds me of batman's in a way but basically since this "movie" was originally proposed to be a series, i would of wanted it as a series, its amazing that they even got a semi-decent movie out of it but overall even if production had a problem i would of rather postponed it until this year or make the first 4 or so episodes into a movie and then work on the rest of the series. so overall, i really think they could of done better or even make a series as said...
art and sound 7.5/10: some of the cgi that was in this definitely could of been better, it could of been worse but pretty much everything else visual and audio definitely was really good, as a matter of fact if the cgi was better i…

The problem with Black Fox is bcause it is an enjoyable well-polished anime that still lacks something.
The story reminds me of some 90's OVA's, but with an updated aesthetic for our times and a softer tone, without all the gratuitous gore. Think about something close to Birdy the Mighty beat.
The technical aspects of Black Fox are amazing, with gorgeous animation, but it somewhat lack its own style. You know, if Trigger were responsible for the movie, they would have made it unique and would receive critical acclaim. It still have a gorgeous animation, but still kinda generic, without its own identity.
The characters are kinda undeveloped, BUT IT'S A MOVIE AND IT'S OKAY TO NOT HAVE TIME TO DEVELOP MULTILAYERED CHARACTERS BECAUSE IT'S A MOVIE. The thing about it is that this movie is…

The only good thing about this movie is the opening fight scene and the animation, it has nothing else going for it.
Story: The story is about a girl trying to get revenge for her family. This concept is not new in anime, and they way they did in this movie is terrible.
Art: One thing I do got to praise is the art. I really like the character designs and the background. I think its drawn beautiful.
Sound: The soundtrack did not catch my attention at all.
Character: The character development is trash. How the characters are, made the movie horrible. The main character lily is trying to get revenge for her father and grandfather death but she becomes all buddy buddy with someone who help kill her father and grandfather. Its stupid that they became friends. The second character that makes…

Plot: Though I enjoyed the show, it is something that wont linger for long. Constructed using black and white cliche beams, it can't be helped thinking about the story's predictability which I thought of most of the time back then when watching the show. Plot progresses very rapidly, which leaves no room for lore exploration and in-depth exploration of characters. Although there is somewhat character developments for Rikka and Mia, it is not remarkable.
Soundtrack: I find the show's music very typical, but it befits the scenario which they are played in. Given the film's elements and theme, the music soundtracks are appropriate. As for the ED theme played at the credits, its good and it's lyrics are in touch with Black Fox 's storyline.
Animation: The animation is pretty good and consist…

1st time reviewing an anime, i'm not english native so my grammar might not be the best and usually i'm the type to be satisfied with others opinion but not today so this will mostly be my subjective review on the film, also this will contain light spoilers about the movie
So this is Black Fox you can go read the synopsis up ahead i'm not going to waste my time on that…
This movie is a huge disapointement especially on the character/character interaction, story/storytelling, the overall tone of the movie being too light hearted and the theme being simply about "vengeance is meaningless, friendship power is the better way".
The art is nice but at times too bright and colorful for the kind of story Black Fox is telling imo, the sound was mostly generic and not memorable, the voice actress…

I feel like the movie has so much potential, and the ending really made me think this was a prequel to an anime series. Sadly, it isn't. I think this would work better as a show. The pacing is weird; sometimes it's fast, sometimes slow, sometimes in the middle. The art and animation were good, but the CG felt out of place and didn't really work for me. I liked the characters, but I feel like Rikka's motivation is cliche. For most of the movie, I was just waiting for something exciting to happen, and that really hindered my enjoyment. I loved the idea of technology and tradition combining, and especially the animal robots. Overall, I wish this was a full series, and I hope to see some sort of sequel in the future.

a beautiful masterpiece with a lacklustre story and that's really the only thing holding it back
art and animation are top notch I don't know if its true but there seems to be a much more emphasis on hand drawn frames which really show's in the character expressions and there body movements and the fight scenes are very fast paced like something you would see in Naruto (the hand to hand scenes)and one of my favourite shots was a simple one just being an overhead shot of the dinner table with all the characters avoiding conversation its just something you don't see in anime a lot is overhead shot's
sound seemed fine I'm not much of a sound guy but the music was good and the voice acting fine
character design was fine like I said the expressions and body movement really make them a lot…

Personally from what I seen from the reviews it not the best movie idea in some eyes, but regardless of that, I truly enjoy the movie from what the writers have come up with even if to other"s it a copy & paste lol.
This site really wants me to go out of my way to write some long ass review 0-0. The voice acting cast did well in captivating their characters/flushing out how they felt in particular scenes such as :Mia apologizing to rikka knowing it was he fault her home got attack by the robo dogs her dad created or when the recording rikka found in her fam basement where it gives her a decisive choice on how to live her life.

This movie wasn't made for us. No, I don't mean this movie wasn't made for me. No, I don't mean this movie wasn't made specifically for you. What I mean is that the people that are likely to watch this movie and find information about it through this site, are not the people likely to enjoy this movie. Black Fox is a superhero origin story, about a girl that has been trained to be a ninja and has access to a lot of technological gadgets, whose appeal as a person is her kind nature. A budget teenage girl Batman if you will. I do think that the movie did accomplish to imitate the exact same process other western movies have used, but not actually succeed in what those movies had
Now let me ask, have you ever seen a movie about a superhero origin story, that has had huge success in the weste…
