Not a bad show, but not interesting either?
First of all the animation is good. No issues there. The plot is not really bad, But after finishing the anime i felt like alot was missing.
To be fair i havnt played the visuel novel so i cant say how much they cut, but finishing the show you can feel some things either needed more time or explantion.
For example the entire shogun plot felt unimportant to me
The show is about an otaku guy, Takumi. He is obessed with Seira-tan, a fictional girl from some anime media. Takumi and Seira both know shes a delusion
He also has a sister, Nanami. Shes the typical little bit spoiled, but cares alot aout her brorther.
Rimi is one of the love interest. Theres a plot point with her that never gets explained and that makes me angry.
The show has alot…

I must say I was not ready for how good this anime truly was... let me explain. For those of you who don't know this is 1 of 6 in a series called Science Adventure which also includes properties like Steins; Gate. Since I was a big fan of that series I went into this series with high hopes and although it was completely different I was not disappointed. It can be difficult to successfully pull off a murder mystery with a hint of the psychological and I think Chaos; Head did very well in that. I was both intrigued and wanting more with the murder mystery aspect of the series around the New Gen Murders but I was also confused about the whole psychological aspect with delusions and real-booting. In the end the series did a fantastic job of bringing everything together and full circle which is…

The original carrier of the SciAdv anime curse... when compared to the source material, this anime is a crime.
CHAOS;HEAD is an absolutely legendary classic psychological horror/thriller about a borderline schizophrenic incel NEET slowly being driven to absolute madness as he is gangstalked by a serial killer. Over the course of the story, he meets other disturbed people with delusions just like his own, and he tries to rely on them for protection, only realizing that in the end, he needed to be able to stand up for himself. The anime, however, tries to cram a visual novel about the length of STEINS;GATE (yes, they are related. S;G is the sequel to C;H) into half the episode count. To make matters worse, the literal most important plot reveal in the entire story is removed and everything…

to be frank, C;H had the real potential of becoming a masterpiece, and it kinda did.. or did it?
i’m a massive SciAdv fan, played all the visual novels and slowly but steadily recovering them all, therefore i rate my knowledge as “fair”.
As several other reviews stated, the anime adaptation and the visual novel don’t really match up like in other chapters of the series, and it’s undeniably true.
although the storyline in the original visual novel was damn near perfectly paced, this anime adaptation suffered from the “too much in too little time” syndrome, a disease that sadly affects way too many titles, pressing a 50 hour gameplay with several possible endings in a 12 episode 24 min each format (including op and ed) is arguably impossible and this is no exception.
from a complete stran…

I've never written a review on MAL, and I never intend to write another. But after watching this show I have a few things to say.
ChaoS;HEAd is an incredible story. It's beautiful, complex, intricate, and an absolute joy to experience. The characters are well developed and unforgettable, and that only serves to deepen the feelings of dread that allow you to sympathize with the trials they are forced to endure throughout the story. I adore ChaoS;HEAd, it's a masterpiece that few can compare to.
ChaoS;HEAd is a truly special piece of art. It's a shame I can't say the same about its adaptation, though.
This anime is dreadful. I don't know how anyone can have read/seen both the VN and this show and call this a faithful adaptation. Massive plot points are reduced to casual occurrences that…

I'm not really sure how this anime escaped my attention up till now but again i have the same attention spam as a toddler with the drinking habits of a 25 yr old English lad when on vacation to Greece....But since i spent some good amount of watching it to the end i might as well spend some more time writing a review about it.
Now i've heard and read that Chaos;HEAd was a VN later adapted into anime format..I admit that i had no knowledge of this fact until now and to be honest i have no intention on spending time with the VN or the games for that matter. I'm just here to review this product as it is and only that.
Chaos;HEAd is the first of a part of a multi-universe(like DC or Marvel)called Science Adventure...The words that will appear on your screens next are about to make your blood…

.......Jesus earth-rumbling Christ.
I had three overall attempts at trying to watch this anime:
-First attempt: reached 4 episodes and decided that it was the most confusing shit I've ever seen, and left.
-Second attempt: reached 2 episodes and then I slept halfway thru episode 2, so I deduced that it must also be the most boring thing I've ever seen, and left.
-Third attempt: finished the whole thing and....you know what, the first 6 episodes were actually not as bad as I thought. They were alright. I understood the story that the anime was trying to tell. Sure, the characters were as all plastic cardboards as they come. Not to mention that the MC Nishijou Takumi was unbearably stupid during the first 6 episodes, but hey, I understood his character, being that he was excessively paran…

The story was... okay? It is like the first half and the second half are two mid series combined to make one, albeit slightly better, mid series. The main character is relatable for a lot of viewers but in a way that thoroughly pisses you off because of how annoying he is - sure, he has is positives, but his negatives are much more abundant. I thought that this was actually pretty enjoyable to watch, but that doesn't mean by any account that the series itself is actually good.
This may have been a significantly better series if it was made now with modern graphics, because this really feels like it could not meet its full potential with what was available 12 years ago.
I have never heard such mediocre sound effects and music from an anime, it was all just terrible. The opening and endi…

This anime was a disaster, one of the worst planned and most confusing anime I’ve ever seen. It’s only saving grace was the VN it was based on. Upon starting the story, I was both confused and bewildered by the setting it thrusts you into, with little information to go on. For the first few minutes, I had no idea if one character was even real or not. Its hard to believe that this anime was overseen and produced by the same people who made Steins;Gate. The anime forces you to fall in love with a bland protagonist. The changes he goes through in the end ultimately don’t matter, seeing as one character acknowledges that he’s a cowardly delusional nut job. The anime is mostly a slice of life drama for half of its 12 episode long run. Seeing as I already made a Steins;Gate comparison, I’ll mak…

The anime version of ChäoS;HEAd is such a mess. Most visual novel adaptations ARE really bad, because there's a large chunk of story that gets crammed in, usually, a single-cour time frame; so, there's instances like ChäoS;HEAd, where it's impossible to like any of the characters or completely wrap your head around the plot. It's like you're getting info-dumped for twenty-seven minutes, then you watch the ending and opening themes, and then a dump truck of exposition plows you down again! I got really tired of the characters and story half-way through the series, and I typically really like Nitroplus' stories!

Chaos;Head, an anime that i never heard before. After looking at the MAL, i found out that this anime is based on a visual novel. And judging by some of the comments, i guess Madhouse (the studio) didn't adapted it well enough. More trivia, chaos head has the same visual novel team with the famous and masterpiece steins gate and even, technically, they're on the same universe (that's what written in mal) but please don't ever compare those two shows as it will be like if you comparing kyo x tohru with natsuo x hina. And now let's talk about what makes chaos head is kinda a failure.
First, we'll talk about the basic things but very very important, the genre. Chaos head has quite an enormous range of genre: scifi, harem, mystery, psychological, supernatural. Those seems click together excep…

OK, I started to watch this because My Anime List says it is an alternative setting to Steins Gate, but man, there's nothing remotely related to Steins Gate in that show! I waited 'till the end to see if maybe theres a cameo or some but nothing. Now, the main idea of the story is not bad, tech and people who can turn illusions into reality? sounds interesting, but the story was terrible developed, also the characters had an even worst development, lacking any convinceable motivations to do what they do. The animation was really mediocre and the sound too. But the worst part was that super-mega looser of protagonist, a pathetic hikikomori afraid even from his own shadow who spent the entire show crying like a bitch screaming for help, but magically he becoms the hero the last 10 minutes of…

Story 3/10
When I first started watching Chaos;Head I was intrigued and it got my attention because I thought it was setting itself up to be a psychological thriller akin to Paranoia Agent, but then by about episode 6 the story takes a sharp left turn and becomes a typical action shounen story where the MC learns he has these special powers that he has to use to save the world from this evil organization.
I could see this working as a straightforward "good guys vs. bad guys" type story, but there are a few reasons why it fails at that. First, the MC, Takumi, is not heroic, in anyway; in fact, he's such a jerk I don't have much reason to root for him. Second, an action story needs good...well, action, but this story doesn't. There's rarely any actual fighting and when there is the choreo…

Oh, ChaoS;HEAd a show as stupid as its capitalization. It sucks here's why.
Story 1/10
The story, if you can call it that, is a pathetic jumble of messy delusions. If you hate scenarios where it ends with, "it was all a dream", then steer clear of this series because it happens like every 5 minutes. I mean it's not like it's too confusing or anything, just frustratingly stupid. It hurts to watch and then there's no pay off in the end whatsoever.
Art 6/10
I mean it's Madhouse, so it wasn't bad. It was even pretty good for 2008. Not much else to say, so moving on.
Music 7/10
The music was good. Very out of place in such a terrible anime. The opening is sung by the queen Kanako Itou herself. The ending was meme bad, but check it out if you want a laugh. I found myself enjoying the soundtra…

Slade’s Quick Review
Warning! Warning! If you think this is a normal harem kinda anime turn back now! I watched this show when I was younger and had finished the likes of Rosario + whatever and Highschool double DxD. Then I found this… it is closer to a horror movie without the horror elements or a psychological show but nothing is ever explained or makes sense. I honestly felt like I had no concept of time watching this show and not in a good way. With all that said…its not bad, but definitely be prepared for this thing. The best way to describe this show is with a scenario. Let’s say you have just moved to a new house, but when you get there the house next door is a bouncy castle and its residents are sentient mannequins who also don’t know what’s going on… Enjoy.

that's not about expectation tbh as long as i don't have real opinion at all, well this is the site for human reviews after all, but speaking really as we thought so, it was a bullshit as an anime. a lot of mistakes that i see were like i was in disgust in during the watching case, this was a disgust at all as an anime, but not the novel and the game as long as i didn't see and got information for that , can't say much , so this might had like very nice anime that lasts 20 year or smth in people's mind, why?
what we seeing is pretty much dreaming that we have to see, so we can't know logically either don't know how to know , and that was pretty much it in the anime this case inspired me but non other. i think this might had been like a pretty good anime but studio made it with like low che…

So, I decided to watch Chaos;Head after finishing Steins;Gate and learning they were in the same universe. I started with Chaos;Head because I saw the MAL-Rating and thought I'd 'save the worst for first'. However, Chaos;Head is a far more interesting anime than my score may suggest, and I do recommend watching it if you can overlook some of the challenges with it.
So, firstly, the biggest strength of the show is that it has an interesting concept with philosophical themes, and at times has a great tone. In many ways, I think the tone of Chaos;Head (at least early on) is most comparable to Higurashi: When They Cry, with an extremely disoriented main character trying to piece together what is happening, and the audience being left struggling with the protagonist. The first half of the seri…

Watch the first 2 episodes thats basically how the rest of the anime is so if you like it stick with it if not then you're better off leaving it.
Now for my opinion it was bad. The characters are so frustratingly frail minded it hurts. The characters are definitely the weakest part of the show. The story is meh. They try to explain everything with garbage "science". The main villain leaves the characters alone until they all have powers instead of killing them when he had the chance, and he gets defeated with a last minute power up.
If you still want to give the show a chance just watch the first two eps like i said before, it only gets worse from there.

So Chaos Head. Definitely a interesting anime to say the least. I came into this anime with no expectations really. I just wanted to watch it because of the upcoming sequel Chaos Child. So the series is ok to say the least. It kind of smashed together with the story, and the characters in my opinion. So let's get the negatives out of the way. There a little too many characters in this short of a series. So this anime kind of has a harem feel to it. Although each harem has something to do with the plot. Which is already vague enough, and then you have to keep track of all these sub-plots. So the story is a bit hard to follow. Along with that the characters are not the greatest either. I couldn't really connect with these characters. So the weaknesses are definitely in the characters and the…

story- now i have heard how bad the story was from some people before going into the anime. however i mostly did go and watch it as a prerequisite to watch chaos;child that was recently released. the way the story goes initially isn't that bad. we have some cooped up Highschool student who is also a shut-in, neet, otaku. what makes him a bit different is that he suffers from mental problems ranging from schizophrenia, disassociation identity disorder, and other delusions. while interesting aren't used or explored to their fullest potential as most of it are discarded for something else or overused to the point of exhaustion and no longer becomes clever or useful to the story.
of course the main source of the story are the murders that take place which our main character becomes a suspect…
