Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop

Introduction

Yui "Cherry" Sakura expresses himself better through the haiku he writes and posts on the internet, even though no one gives it attention. While preparing for him and his family to relocate in August, he spends the summer working part-time at a welfare facility. Meanwhile, Yuki "Smile" Hoshino is a budding influencer who wants everyone to smile. However, she feels uneasy about the braces on her protruding front teeth and conceals her own smile using a disposable mask. After an accidental encounter with Cherry, Smile finds herself becoming a part-time worker at the same facility as him. Soon, the two assist a senile man, Fujiyama, in searching for an old vinyl record he owns. Unable to remember its last location, he wishes to listen to it once more before his memories fade for good. Cherry and Smile only have the record's sleeve and the word "yamazakura" as clues, and their hunt in the hazy summer heat begins. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Imagine a world full of a myriad of vibrant colours as far as the eye can see. A world full of eclectic eccentric characters who's lives begin to unravel before your very eyes, sprinkled in with a summer romance, and this, is how we enter the world of words bubble up like soda. The story begins with a young man named koichi sakura, or as others most know him by, cherry. Who is known for being a shy boy who keeps to himself whilst constantly writing haikus. We watch cherry as his daily life goes on throughout summer break. He temporarily takes over his mother's job as she has suffered an injury thus unabling her to work. Amidst his daily life, at the oda nouvelle mall, cherry mistakenly gets caught up in a delinquent child's drama who is known as beaver. As beaver and cherry get tied up,…

Let me begin with a haiku: OH-HOH CHERRY BOY!! In life love never fades We pass it along I love this movie, so very much. It's beautiful and vividly animated by a staff who clearly love the project. The neon pallet captures the tone of summer and the simplicity and naivete of youth. The main characters are real and lovely in their own ways; maybe a bit cliche, but relatable and endearing. I loved the supporting characters and wish we got to see a bit more of them and their lives. (Juri and Mari seemed the flattest and least developed characters, sadly.) The focus of the movie is definitely centered on the leads. There's something wonderful and poetic about celebrating bad art. Or perhaps I should say cherishing amateur art. This movie takes the theme to heart and it works! It really co…

Generally speaking, I think that this movie was a fun movie, but I can't give it more than a seven. Is it because of the lack of fighting and that sort of action? No, because there are good, even GREAT romantic movies and shows in anime. Is it because of the ideas behind the movie? Not because it's a very cute movie, all things considered. But I think that there are movies and shows that have been released both before and after the movie's release that did better. One of said series is, arguably, Your Lie in April. BUT if you're looking for a heart-warming movie that'll fill the time, this is definitely a good one.

Words bubble up like Soda pop is a sweet story with a beautiful aesthetic. While it is romantic the main relationship & characters feel jumpy at times, skipping ahead without much explanation outside of Haiku & the removal of masks the characters use to hide insecurities. The importance of memory & expression is on full display with the main characters' interests and what little we see of the side cast. The true romantic moments came from the grandpa’s search for a record rather than the main duo themselves although their connection while initially forced was subtle & lovely nonetheless. The finale drags on and dispels suspension of disbelief for multiple moments & conclusions but the overall movie despite it remains sweet & simple, as such if you want an entertaining movie with light r…

This was so boring I can't even tell you what happened like YAWNNNNNN Don't watch it its just boring and a whole bunch of nothing. Boring characters boring plot, not unique at all. I thought it would be funny but what happened? Nothing significant A good plot should have something you remember and like going back to. I didn't even watch this too long ago. Like the only reason it is not a 1 star is because "A whisker away" is the most terrible thing ever, and I can't compare it to this. I don't care about the characters, couldn't even get attached to them. Bad

Qué pelicula más bonita joe The soundtrack is flawless, the characters are unique and the plot, even if simple, doesn't feel boring. Made me cry all the way. Definitely recommended. Talks real issues like insecurities and the world sometimes just being too loud for some people. The old man's story is simply beautiful. I can see why some people might not like it, but saying it's boring it's a complete lie if you are able to appreciate the music and amazing art of this movie correctly. I was recommended this one by a friend, and it didn't disappoint. All that said, it becomes quite angsty at some point, so if you aren't in for an emotional rollercoaster, you might want to skip this one.

This film is a wholesome film. It's not got many deep themes, it's not got gripping drama really, and the twists are pretty easy to see. But man, I love this film regardless. It's such a wholesome film that never made me bored, and the direction and animation style is outstanding. The director from Your Lie in April delivers a modern movie that still pays tribute to the old, and I really enjoy that. The characters are all sweet, they all work well together, and I love the slight autism metaphor/actual autism that the main character seems to have. I relate to a lot of his story, and I love how the main character grows. Solid stuff.

A very light-hearted, sweet romance between two teens who are both self-conscious in different ways. It has a vibrant art style with colours that truly pop. The animation is quite unique, especially in the way the characters move. This is particularly noticeable in the opening mall scene, but I didn’t mind it. The OST is wonderful, and the characters are all very likeable. The story isn’t particularly memorable, as it delves into a bit of mystery involving a music record they’re trying to find. It features lots of typical anime clichés, including the ending. However, it’s a fine watch if you’re just looking for a relaxing 90-minute romance.

This film is wonderful! A slow paced slice-of-life, with a love story running through it, this film was just a joy to watch. Firstly--the visuals are stunning, with use of vibrant colours that are well crafted to be complimentary and make things, well, pop! The animation is nice, fluid in places although many shots are also quite still. I think the backgrounds are 3D greasepencil, they mesh well with the 2D elements and again bring a unique look and feeling to the film! The character designs are similarly unique and fun, especially our female lead Smile. Speaking of her, I was initially worried that the 'streamer' aspect of her character would be handled pourly, or be somewhat annoying to watch, but I think it was incorporated really well and didn't overstay it's welcome in scenes. She was…

An explosion of colors met my eyes. The art for this show was so vibrantly detailed that I couldn't help but get immersed in the feeling of watching an amazing fireworks show. The simple but pleasant storyline and likeable characters gave me a warm feeling while watching. The soundtrack was also very fitting with the theme of the story. Without spoiling too much, I must say I like how Cherry confessed his feelings for Smile. Overall, I enjoyed the show very much. If you like heartwarming SoL and light romance stories, I would say give this show a try. Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru was a wonderful show to end the day with.

*No spoilers* Summary Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop tells the tale of two teenagers who work through their insecurities as they connect with one another. The movie explores topics such as neurodiversity, communication, and insecurities, with some wholesome intentions, young romance, and friendship. The story explores these themes with success, wrapping up with a pleasant ending and incorporating characters and a simple plot that slice-of-life fans will enjoy. In this way, it homes in on insecurities in a way that is likely relatable and palatable for teenagers. However, it is not a ground-breaking story, and it does not deeply examine these themes. I recommend this film for its entertainment, pleasant, and “chill” approach to addressing the topics, though it is not revolutionary. Story:…

Pretty sweet and nice, the plot is very simple and touches on anxiety and body image issues in a nice way, not too complicated but with a cute message about acceptance, the side plot is very cute and heartwarming, it might seem a little slow but not much compared to other romance animes, the setting of the story is a little unique which is nice. The characters can feel a little unidimensional at times but they have decent development and growth that was built up during the whole movie. The animation is very well done and different to the usual anime style and fits the genre very well. The music is also very nice but nothing to remember My only complaint would be that the only hispanic character happens to be known for stealing and graffiti, which feels a little racially motivated tbh. A very wholesome movie about a very shy introverted boy and a not so why outtroverted girl with low self esteem.. He expresses himself through poems and haiku, and she is a streamer Who is a little bit more straight forward yet not so satified of how whe looks..her streamer name is smily, which is a little ironic yet iconic in this movie. They crashes into each other and switches Phone by accident, and the story begins. Its a intereting movie i actually would recommand IT. Its not too romantic yet not too dramatic, but its still lovely. Now go and watch IT before i spoil anything 🤣

Title: Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop - A Visually Stunning Yet Underwhelming Teenage Tale Rating: 6/10 Introduction: "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop" is an aesthetically charming coming-of-age anime that marries vibrant visuals with themes of self-expression and connection. While its unique animation style and heartfelt moments manage to captivate, the overall execution falls short of delivering a truly memorable experience. As an anime enthusiast, I provide a review of "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop," exploring its strengths and highlighting the aspects that hinder it from reaching its full potential. Stunning Visual Aesthetic: One of the immediate standouts of "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop" is its visually captivating animation style. The use of vibrant colors, fluid character movem…

Words bubble up like soda pop was such a unique movie on its art-style. The voice acting for the dub was not really good, sub was way better. The music was outstanding of course but pacing wise was a bit too rushed. I did love the idea of others having insecurities. The pacing felt rushed by the ending and middle. The animation was decent and there is really nothing to say but it's okay. The art style and the story didn't really mix in well for a romance and drama though. I will recommend it to people who just want to see it just for the sake of it but for me, I'm out.

Even though. I did not enjoy myself with this, even though I do not like the art style for the characters, even though I do not like the certain unnecessary filler during the movie, even though I do not find this memorable. I find this meaningful, valuable, interesting, and somewhat entertaining enough that helped me watch through and fortunately I’m grateful to say; It’s alright who are you, if you’re a human doing good things and doing even more good things and doing better. just know that with or without the mask it won’t change anything, only you can change yourself. That as long as your beautiful and loving at heart. you deserve love aswell. This movie is worth watching. You may enjoy or learn something here or just sit back and relax a bit watching character arcs develop and buil…

Watch it for bouncy character animation, charming dialogue, and love for haiku. It really feels like a love for haiku and an animation flex. It's a simple story told to death, but I'm charmed. Be warned the love story is entirely predictable though. But the characters are so lovable and the little moments so charming Im not even watching for the plot. Story super predictable. Summer love story, with a b-side of grandpa's fear of forgetting his own summer love story. Also with a touch of teen awkwardness/ insecurities getting in the way of their passions. Slice of life, with a romance second half. Art style fits beautifully. It's a strong look with bright saturated colors and sharp lines. Thee background music is pretty sweet too. The star is the explosive character animation. It's not…

If youre looking for a fully closed story... stop watching movies, they never fully close their stories and ofc this is no exception. But, is not about the destination is about the journey and i gotta say, i really loved it. This story presents us with 3 problems: Him not being good at communicate (some sort of komi-chan), Her not liking her teeth and finally the missing record, just for reassurance, let me tell you these 3 problems are solved very good at the end of the story. The missing record is just a side story that will help the movie have a plot while the characters handle their problems, this is not a complicated story actually is very simple, they meet, they connect and they get closer and closer and at the end, they help each other to resolve their insecurities. Gotta say i…

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop is a simple yet beautiful story about two teenagers trying to overcome their personal struggles. The main character, Cherry, has a communicating disorder but finds solace in writing rhyme. The female lead, Smile, struggles with self-doubt and insecurities about her appearance, leading her to hide behind a mask. The two characters bump into each other and form a friendship over a short period of time. The animation is colorful and light, with a character design that follows suit. At first, I found the movie to be a bit boring, but as the story progressed, it really drew me in. It's a heartwarming and light-hearted anime movie that I would recommend to those looking for a feel-good story. The characters are charming and the setting in a large shopping mall add…
