Clevatess

Introduction

Surrounded by four armies of dark beasts, five humanoid races strive to push the known boundaries of the world. Unfortunately, the 13 heroes dispatched to the southern region are easily wiped out by Clevatess, one of the Lords of Dark Beasts. Determined to get revenge against humanity, Clevatess bursts into the capital of the Kingdom of Hiden, leaving a trail of death and destruction behind him. Although the situation looks desperate, humanity still has a chance to appease Clevatess' anger. Alicia Glenfall, one of the 13 heroes, is revived by Clevatess to help him raise a newborn infant, Luna, whose choices shall shape the fate of the human world. Although reluctant to help the dark beast at first, Alicia understands that Luna is the only thing that stands between humanity and complete annihilation. Hiding himself by taking on a human form, Clevatess sets out in search for a wet nurse with Alicia and Luna. With Clevatess unwilling to reveal his identity, it falls on Alicia to slay all enemies that stand in their way. Meanwhile, the neighboring countries prepare to advance on the weakened Hiden, aiming to control the only forge capable of producing the heroes' weapons. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

[ Hood Review ] 🔥 Clevatess 🔥 WHOOOAA! 😭🔥 First off gang, this anime is BRUTAL! I’m talkin’ str8 up Berserk-level brutal! If you’ve seen Berserk, then you already know what time it is. This anime does NOT be holdin’ back, type shit! 💀 Between the graphic decapitations, sexual assault, and str8 up outta-pocket madness, this is definitely NOT for kids . 😭😂 One thing I really fw with is the deep lore and them medieval vibes! like I’m not sittin here watchin’ the same recycled anime formula for the hundredth time. The characters, enemies, abilities, and the whole world-building got me genuinely hype to see what happens next! I ain’t felt this locked in with an anime in a minute, type shit. 🔥 And the fights? Yeah, they go CRAZY, Some of these battles are so one sided, you’ll be sitti…

ANIME OF THE YEAR How good is Clevetess? Let's preface this by saying this first: This is a High IQ Dark Fantasy anime show that many anime fans have been waiting for for many years. After YEARS and YEARS of enduring isekai of ecchi/harem slop over and over again and having every brain cell Hoover vacuumed out of our brain for watching to watch it every season we FINALLY get one anime for us. Many did not make it to this day. For fans of early Season 1-3 AOT, Berserk 1997, Death Note, Monster, Claymore, etc. That's who this show is for. If you watch this show and do not fit into this demographic and then hate on the show then you've been warned. This is NOT a shounen. The show feels like it was plucked STRAIGHT out of the 2008 and teleported almost 20 years in the future. That's high p…

Clevatess himself probably read the synopsis, saw the other characters' bland, uninspiring designs, and decided that humanity must die. Or maybe it was the 13 lucky heroes who set out to kill him and barely landed a scratch on him before he returned the favor, but who's to say, really? Clevatess looked down at the 13 corpses, and revived the one hero who landed on a scratch on him. She's his lucky new servant now as he sets out to destroy the 13 heroes' homeland in revenge. Oh and, why not raise a baby, too? Can't be too hard, right? It's a truly inspiring story about giving an anime a chance because other people said it was good and not because it looked like it would be--and finding out that it's actually pretty good. Clevatess is one of the darker, gorier, more violent anime in re…

the writing of this is all over the place, i kept watching it for the sake of maybe it getting better, but nah, there is a fundamental flaw with the author that wrote this, maybe the studio could have done a better job, but this is exactly what i expect when i hear an amateur wrote a story, most of the time a scene rush to show you what happens, instead of taking its time to make you dive deep in it, characters are basically just npcs, i wouldnt care one bit if they are gone the next episode, that's how shallow things were to me while watching this show, nothing felt convincing enough, and that was a big problem for me, instead of relaxing and watching, i kept questioning the identity of this story.

Clevatess is honestly quite difficult for me to rate because there are some very positive aspects, but also some fairly significant weaknesses. Starting with the positives, what I really liked is that the story is fairly well structured. It is not overly complicated, it is easy to get into, and most importantly, it is dynamic from the very beginning. You can get into the story quite easily without needing too much explanation. Another thing I really appreciated is the raw, direct and brutal side of the anime. If there needs to be a fight, there is a fight. If there are graphic or slightly gory moments, they are actually shown. If someone needs to die, they die. The anime does not constantly try to avoid showing the consequences of what is happening. If there is torture, there is tortur…

Clevatess has been one of the biggest surprises I've watched recently. It doesn't rely on flashy action alone,it builds a dark fantasy world that feels ancient, cruel, and full of history. Every episode leaves you with more questions than answers, making it clear that the world has only scratched the surface of what it has to offer. The strongest aspect of the series is undoubtedly its worldbuilding. There are kingdoms, races, forgotten histories, mysterious powers that even the strong demon kings don't know about. Instead of handing the audience every answer, Clevatess trusts you to piece things together. That sense of mystery is what keeps the world feeling alive, and it makes you eager to uncover the secrets hidden beneath its brutal surface. The anime also doesn't shy away from showi…

Man, wow. This really has that old-school dark fantasy anime feeling where the world is huge, the characters are colorful, it’s violent, unforgiving, and everything is moving at an insane pace. But honestly, the world itself might be my favorite part with how much of the world is still completely unknown. You have the Lords of Beasts, different races, wars, kingdoms, monsters… and there’s still so much we haven’t seen. Clevatess himself is definitely the highlight of the show for me. He doesn’t have the same moral compass as humans so he’s constantly questioning everything and trying to understand how humans think without judging things at face value. That lack of bias makes him unpredictable, and I love watching him slowly move pieces around the chessboard while everyone thinks he’s just…

This show is a 10. Im going to go agaist the grain on this one, most people would consider a 10 or "masterpiece rating" out of pocket, however I disagree. Here i explain why Clevatess is a a series where 4 evil dark beast lords run the earth, humans are restricted to a single continent unable to fight against any of these godlike beasts or explore beyond the territories. The story kicks off when "Clevatess", the dark lord of the south, decides to utterly obliterate a human kingdom because their "Thirteen Heroes" foolishly attacked his lands. But rather than destroying the rest of the earth, he unexpectedly finds himself saddled with a surviving royal human infant (Luna). Watching a primordial, ruthless entity of destruction accidentally become a reluctant babysitter creates an incredible…

Clevatess tries a fresh approach on the action fantasy adventure, instead of seeking out the demonlord, the demonlord is essentially the main character. He is basically an anti hero, and is curious about people. Fantasy stories are usually great at world building, and Clevatess is no exception. I will say one thing this show excels at are displaying the stakes in the most grandiose ways possible. Overall, it's relatively simple, but checked all the boxes and a few extras for it's novelty and hype. From beginning to end, Clevatess is a concise, complete, and entertaining story that really stood out in Summer 2025 for me. Highly recommend, would rewatch for sure

The lore of this anime is truly exceptional, but unfortunately, it is underutilized as it focuses on just a single region. It introduces a massive world at the beginning only to cast it aside later. This is a shame, especially since the four Demon Lords are all incredibly stylish—not a single one is disappointing. Clevatess himself looks amazing, with an incredible design and a powerful voice. You can truly feel his presence and stature as a villain. The anime had massive potential, starting with a very promising and long first episode that set up a great atmosphere, a compelling story, and interesting characters. However, the show got a bit lost in the middle. Toward the end, even though other Demon Lords like Zakli were stylish, the lore remained way too confined. There is a whole world…

Astonishing start, emotional ending. I don't regret watching it, and I wasn't disappointed with how the story turned out. The first fight was amazing, and the final fight was even better. Looking at where the story begins and where it ends, Clevatess is genuinely impressive. Unfortunately, the middle part isn't quite on the same level. The more anime you watch, the easier it becomes to notice inconsistencies in storytelling, animation, and pacing. It feels like most of the animation budget went into the introduction and finale. While that can be a smart decision, especially for a smaller production, the drop in quality during several fights in the middle is noticeable for a series that only has 12 episodes. The story also feels somewhat uncertain during its middle sections. The author cl…

A surprisingly committed dark fantasy with a world to detail and a story to tell, held back by a lacklustre production. Clevatess establishes rather quickly that any semblance of tropes is incidental; it takes its world and premise very seriously. Presenting an introspective and structured take on a ravaged world, the story walks a fine line between dark and edgy, sticking the landing with an uncomplicated message that responds organically to the wider plot. That said, its middling production declines sharply over its run, putting a damper to its action and overall impact. A real shame, as Clevatess is a genuinely interesting fantasy story; even its mangled form brims with originality.

Clevantees’ first season joins a rare group of excellent Anime; at least, for me. I found its grounded and dark story plus world building to be excellent. Those two things helped put it nearly on par with some of my favorite animes. I’m actually surprised that there’s as many people as there are who don’t seem to find it as interesting or entertaining as I did, but to each their own. I can acknowledge that the animation quality isn’t of the highest level, but it’s still quite good and not a major drawback in my eyes. As for me, I look forward to the continuation of this anime’s story as it expands on what’s been revealed during this first season. I particularly appreciated how Stefan, the leader of the thirteen heroes and considered the strongest, was also the first one to be killed…

The animation is ok when it's present. There's some CGI and still shots but the picture won't be bothering you much. The OST is generic. The characters are generic, their development is inexistent. That's it for the positives. The writing is offensively stupid. It's so bad Danmachi will feel like Lord of the Rings in comparison. The protag is facing off the bad guys? let's drop in a 6-minute long exposition dump mixed with detailed explanation of motives and life plans of the current villains. An evil guy surrounded by a swarm of insects crushes into MCs room and kills several people with bugs? I'd bet you didn't understand he's controlling the insects so here's a TED talk on his ability + some world history + some background of how he became a cringe ass bug kissing edge lord. I swear,…

Clevatess has, for the most part, done a fairly ok job at filling the Ubel Blatt-shaped hole in my heart left by that story’s piss-poor anime adaptation. While my feelings on hyper-edgy dark fantasy anime are extremely mixed on the best of days, and this one certainly isn’t winning me over with its parade of cackling evil villains and brigands, the worldbuilding is certainly unique enough to at least grab my attention. Moreover, the fact that it’s competent at delivering information in a way that feels mostly natural and engaging rather than lore-dumping for minutes on end is one of its biggest strengths, which doesn’t sound like much, but it’s still much rarer than you would hope. The cast is pretty solid, though few besides our titular demon lord stand out much, but the mainstays rarely…

Clevatess is a show about defeat and resilience. It is surprisingly confident, restrained, and honest about what kind of story it wants to tell. One of the show’s strengths lies in how it treats strength and power. Competence is not assumed, and progress is shaped by limitation and consequence rather than convenience. Characters are allowed to struggle, adapt, and change at a believable pace. At the same time, the story avoids clear moral labeling. Central forces are neither framed as heroes nor villains, remaining difficult to read and intentionally uncomfortable. The world is not handed to the viewer through too much explanation but how it is experienced. Events often precede understanding, and meaning emerges through consequence. When explanation or flashback appears, it is either br…

This anime is fantastic. I unfortunately stopped watching it for a long while, picking it back up finally and going strong to finish it. I don't like doing that because it invites not remembering previous context, which can easily ruin your entire experience. Thankfully, the plot and story of Clevatess is forgiving enough for most normie audiences. Surprisingly, the animation is quite impressive. It's not really noticeable at first, but when the action peaks, the animation gets clever and impressive. This might sound like blasphemy, but you know how JJK's animation is quirky and unique but hard to follow? This is like that, but easy to follow. The art style is simple, but it's quite effective when it matters. This isn't the next big anime in the same way JJK is, but it's something to bo…

It starts strong with a dark fantasy setting, even if the worldbuilding is somewhat general. However the main premise is quickly lost, and the story starts to focus on the less interesting parts of this world. The stakes of a dark fantasy world are also dampened by the powers of the protagonist. More annoyingly as the series go on the characters start to (literally) jump from one plot point to another., resulting in a lack of transition. This translates into long fights where the villains didn't have the needed time to be set up properly, solved by the cliché "tragic backstory" exposition dumps during fights to save the pacing of the story. There are some funny and even emotional moments in this show but overall it is nothing special.

Holy moly. This show blow me away from the very first episode! Definitely one of the best medieval fantasy anime I’ve ever seen. The pacing, the story telling, the world building and every character with name or without have such an impact to the story that makes it feel very natural. And sometimes betray your expectations when you think you can predict what gonna happen next. Definitely looking forward to the next season this year! PS.I don’t write reviews much, but you know mainstream is suck when this gem is at a lower rating than Frieren. Which is why I only watch what I want not what others want to watch.

Clevatess is a strange show. It starts with a really promising first episode with great style and animation and an intriguing premise. That is then almost completely abandoned for half of the show. Extremely boring and over the top villains and very little fleshing out of the characters nor overall story. Once all the side villains are out the way the show really starts to shine. This was clearly what the story was meant to be but anime need to be 12 episodes for some reason so we get a bunch of fluff. The animation is really stellar at parts in the final half which I would only expect from the largest main stream anime. The story at least its messaging and characters all actually start to make sense at this point. I did like what it was actually trying to say, which I feel is done pretty…
