Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Future Arc

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Future Arc

Introduction

After Makoto Naegi and his fellow survivors escaped Hope's Peak Academy to the world beyond, they soon join the Future Foundation, an organization dedicated to combating despair. Just when all seems to be looking up, Naegi is arrested and tried for betrayal due to defending a malicious group of Remnants of Despair. Standing before all of the Future Foundation executives, he finds himself, along with Kyouko Kirigiri and Aoi Asahina, facing an unknown fate. The matter at hand only escalates when the organization's supposedly impenetrable security is hacked into by a familiar face: Monokuma. Much to Naegi's horror, the mechanical bear immediately announces the beginning of a new killing game, as moments later, the first victim appears as a signal for despair to resume its brutal conquest. Naegi, the Super High School-Level Lucky Student, must once again unravel the mystery as his colleagues and friends begin falling around him. However, there are no more class trials; among the 16 desperate participants, there is only one killer—and their death means the end of this infernal game. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This was one of those anime I started ages ago, watched about half of the first season… and then completely forgot about. It just slipped out of my mind somehow. But now that I finally came back to it, I’m actually really satisfied with the whole experience. I won’t lie, the episode order and the continuation were confusing at times. The structure is chaotic, the pacing jumps around, and sometimes you’re just sitting there like “wait… what?” But once I pushed through and finished it, I ended up being pleasantly surprised ^^ The twists, the characters, the insane atmosphere, it all came together in a way that made the return totally worth it. I’m glad I gave it another chance, because the ending hit way better than I expected. A messy journey, but a surprisingly rewarding one.

The entire point of Danganronpa is that you end up in a setting where you get to know a bunch of other characters before (and while) you all end up killing each other. That's the entire point. The ENTIRE point. So like, what the hell was this. What are we doing. A bunch of new character that we didn't really get to know at all dying and the only thing possibly keeping you interested is the fact that this has a 3 at the end of it. Half the time I just don't acknowledge this show, it just feels so pointless, but it feels worse knowing that most people who would watch in the current year won't watch it as it aired, where each week Mirai-hen and Zetsubou-hen would alternate. The first episode of Zetsubou-hen literally starts by showing events that happened in Mirai-hen, and the stories told i…

I've played Danganronpa 1 & 2, however if you haven't then I'd give this is a miss. If you have, this closes out the arc so if you're into the lore then it's a mandatory watch. Also, I watched on Crunchyroll which alternates the episodes between the future and despair arc's, I recommend this as the way to watch. It's clearly intended to be watched that way. The future arc's main purpose is to tie all the loose ends together. It quickly becomes a battle royale anime with little to distinguish it from any other. The writing has kinda got that Danganronpa flair but it's also someone muted as the plot takes a front seat here. There's a whole host of new characters. But don't waste your time remembering most of them, you can guess whose going to survive from halfway through episode one and v…

Part 1 English Part 2 Bahasa Indonesia -------------------------------------- Well, well, well. What do we have here? Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen - Mirai-hen? That's a mouthful. But let me tell you, this anime is worth every syllable. Let's start with the story. It's like a rollercoaster ride that never ends. Just when you think you know what's going to happen, BAM! Plot twist. I haven't been this entertained since I watched a monkey ride a unicycle. And that's saying something. Now, let's talk about the art style. It's like Picasso and Monet had a baby and it grew up to be an anime artist. The colors are so vibrant, they practically jump off the screen and slap you in the face. But in a good way, of course. As for the main characters, there are too many to count. But…

First of all, this show contains massive spoilers for Danganronpa 1 & 2, so don't watch the show or read this review unless you've played those games. This is better than the despair arc, but still not great. Story 6/10: It works, the killing game follows different rules compared to Danganronpa 1 & 2, and there are a few twists that are kinda good. It's not outstanding though. Art 6/10: Nothing outstanding, but it doesn't look bad at all. Sound 5/10: Just like with the despair arc, video game music is great, but it doesn't really fit in anime. Character 6/10: Can't say much, the characters worked, they had a few layers even if they where thin, I can't really complain. Enjoymen 7/10: I'd definitely say I enjoyed this more than the despair arc, but its nowhere near the top of what I've…

Pretty disappointing entry to the series. The main driving force being the initial two detective mystery games is followed up with a weird action focused tragic future anime. While this genre can work, it feels out of place with the main games, which are about solving the individual murder cases and the overall case of the story. The original appeal of the series feels like it was cut out, and all we're left with is a watered down action anime that never really ties up or reconciles its overarching narrative of the world coming to an end. If everyone is still filled with despair how does hope win in the end? I know the main theme of the series is reaching for hope despite an uncertain and scary future, but that doesn't excuse not writing a proper conclusion to your story.

this review is about every arc. no spoilers. - - - i loved the danganronpa games when i was a preteen/young teenager. the second one is by far my favorite, so when i heard that the characters first introduced in it were going to be the center of a brand new anime i was BEYOND ecstatic. i remember quite literally shaking with excitement seeing the first promo images, and the first trailer. i waited patiently until it aired all the way through like i always do. i avoided spoilers like the plague, unlike what i had done for the games. i was so pumped, until i actually sat down to watch it. it hurt to look at anything other than the subtitles (the dub is horrendous by the way). the way certain characters were deformed to look nothing like they used to completely takes away from the expe…

[MINOR SPOILERS if you care; also covering bits of Hope Arc] Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School – Future Arc is an anime meant to serve as the conclusion to the Hope’s Peak series of Danganronpa games, which excludes Danganronpa V3. It is set years after the first game, possibly directly after the second game and somewhat after Ultra Despair Girls. The Future Arc, however, was one that I found to be ultimately unnecessary to the plot yet enjoyable nonetheless. Before I make the same complaints about the story that everyone else has already made, I’d like to appreciate some of the aspects I liked. The music was a master class, particularly the OP and ED. All tracks fit their situations well and carried over the vibes that were present in previous Danganronpa games. I also r…

(Minor Spoilers) After the original "Danganronpa animation" I immediately started watching Danganronpa 3. The series itself can only really be described as average because as an average viewer I went from the ending of Danganronpa the animation to the beginning of Danganronpa 3, which has the same characters but introduces a group of all these other characters and places everything in a new setting. If you are a normal viewer, this would be beyond confusing. Despite my confusion about the new characters and setting, I thoroughly enjoyed the new aspects centred around the killing game. I disliked many of the new characters, they were hostile and the ones I liked were killed before I got to know them. I found the opening to have a really appealing style that is unique from the games howeve…

Well, this wasn't the worst season but also not the best after all. To understand the content of this season you have to see season 1 and the season "Zetsubou-hen". Knowing the non-animated game would be of the "ADVANTAGE" is not necessary to be able to follow the plot, because the anime explains well and the ova also contributes to it. This part is also the end of the series. After the disappointing result of "Zetsubou-hen", I was unfortunately skeptical about how the series would continue, but the season "Mirai-hen" saved it a little bit. In the end, it was nothing impressive and this season couldn't create any tension, let alone be convincing. Another problem is that the characters were too unsteady. On the one hand, you could see that they were trying to develop their personalit…

The anime is around a 7 for me. There were some aspects that were good, and others that were simply subpar. *****THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS****** The main reason I wrote this review -- the characters: The newly added characters aren't developed at all. Makoto: Don't expect his personality to change. He's still the same from DR1. Shy, slow-witted, idealistic. Nothing memorable from him. He could've been made more potent by being smarter, taking reasonable actions, and doing anything instead of shouting out hope jargon. Munakata points this out by saying mere platitudes won't save the world. You have to actually do something. Which brings me to discuss his character. He's ok and somewhat fleshed out by his motives, but nothing original since the writers set him up as "the person who went to…

While not the best story in Danganronpa, Side Future was a lot better than I thought it was. Compared to Dangaronpa the Animation, this was relatively better paced in its story beats and characters which was probably because it's an after story rather than a direct game adaptation. Sixteen characters both old and new were trapped in the Future Foundation HQ as Monokuma announced that there's a traitor among them. In context with Dangaronpa's internal logic, Side Future revealed a whole new level of messed up characters and decisions, this time through the cynical adults of the Future Foundation. The stakes were high and engaging because unlike the trials at Hope's Peak there are no rules. Sound judgement was nonexistent since episode 1. The only rule that existed was trust no one. The cha…

[SPOILERS...AGAIN!] Ahhhhhhhh, yes. The OTHER side of the Danganronpa 3 coin: Future. Let's hop right into this. Story: 6/10 Surprisingly, the story on this side is quite a bit better than the Despair Arc's story. It makes a bit more sense and the characters overall are a lot more...likable weirdly compared to the DR2 versions of some of these guys (since some of them crossover between both.) I liked the callback moments to Danganronpa 1 (since it's story overall WAS better than 2's, at least in my opinion) and was a bit easier to understand in terms of HOW it connects to the games. Still not GODLY for a story, but for what it was, it was good. The characters act appropriately and aren't too out of character (in the case of all the returning characters, which I adore because they were g…

The concluding part of Danganronpa story turns out to be an utter garbage that surprisingly manages to butcher the original series' spirit by presenting criminally uninteresting setting, boring and flat characters, downright ridiculous storyline with ton of plotholes, and loads of stupid out-of-place fanservice on top of that. A scene where newly-added "your ordinary schoolgirl" character casually fights hundreds of mechanical Monocumas with laser-shooting megaphone (showing off her panties in the process) describes this anime as none better. Story — as said above, horrible. The only reason the plot is not predictable is that it is illogical as hell. 1/10 Art — the visual style lost some of the first season's charm, but at least it still provides dark atmosphere and is ok to look at. Ah,…

while everyone else was upset that there wasn't a danganrompa 2 i found myself thoroughly enjoying Danganrompa 3. The art while being unorthodox i thought added a lot to the series and mixed with the amazing animemation made this show a feast for your eyes. All characters in Danganrompa 3 are interesting and have there seperate reasons for hating despair and make you hate it just as much as them you never know who you wanna root for and the show makes it impossible to hate almost anyone. The sound is very good and with great music accompanying it makes for a great experience. The story isn't the best part of Danganrompa 3 but isn't at any rate. I found this show exceedingly enjoyable. I conclude that Danganrompa is a great show and everyone should give it a watch after Danganrompa 1.

Honestly, I'm really disappointed I really hoped for something good but well the DESPAIR won once again... My biggest problem with Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen (besides this long name) is that it feels so passionless. New characters are either boring or forgettable and the old ones don't develop at all. Even worse! This instalment made me NOT CARE for them! The story is really really basic and simple no twists (at least not those that you cant see right away) and moments that shocking are those that make completely no sense. Music is decent animation too. If you are a fan go ahead and watch it is not the worst by any means but if you are new to the series DONT WATCH IT it will spoil the good parts for you.

My review and thoughts on this arc are the same for each DR3 arc. Their adaption of SDR2 to animation was WAY better than what they did for Trigger Happy Havoc. The story seemed more fleshed out giving us new characters and a completely different story rather than just sticking to what the game had to offer. They also got a better grasp on animating the art style. All in all, as a huge fan of the Danganronpa franchise I would recommend this. I went into this anime expecting it to be the same as the THH anime, but i was pleasantly surprised.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen - Mirai-hen is an anime by Lerche, it serves as a sequel to the first two Danganronpa games. Before I begin this review I'd like to talk about how to go about watching this series. If you already know how to watch this show, skip this paragraph. Before you watch this show make sure you've played (or watched) the first two Danganronpa games, as well as Ultra Despair Girls. I hadn't played Ultra Despair Girls before I watched this show, so I was very confused for several episodes. Next, after you watch the first episode of Mirai-hen procede to watch the first episode of Zetsubou-hen, then watch the second episode of Mirai-hen. Continue watching these shows in this order. They spoil each other, so this is very important. I generally enjoyed the s…

The only good scene was Chisa Yukizome hanging from the chandelier fight me Okay seriously, this anime is possibly one of the worst experiences that I've had with Danganronpa, rivaled only by the Trigger Happy Havoc anime. The only good characters are the already established ones from the games (Makoto, Hina, Kyoko, ect.). The new Future Foundation members all have 1 to 2 personality traits and feel extremely flat. The new style of the killing game was also convoluted and frankly stupid. However, I'll defend the art and music, because I actually enjoyed the art style to a degree. In addition, the soundtrack is actually very solid, as Danganronpa music usually is. Old World Order in particular is one that stands out to me personally.

You must first play the game and then watch the anime with the OVAs and light novels that are important for character analysis and the story itself. Guys understand this, they cannot make Kodaka serve them all at the table, they must analyze, this anime is good along with everyone, because it is an explanatory and to analyze the characters, it is important if you have paid attention to the game. There are always more things to discover about danganronpa and it is not minor, it is not just to wait for Hinata or Naegi to throw the answers in our faces, we must think. The anime is to explain and promote the game. With this anime I was able to analyze many characters and the answer was given because Hinata decided to do that of Izuru, for those who do not understand romances, this story real…
