The Mugen Train arc is small, but overall it remains effective. It takes some time to pick up but when it does it really leads to some of the best moments in the anime. I really like a lot of the character moments here, from Tanjiro to Nezuko, and especially Rengoku. Rengoku is a very cool character, and I can definitely see why he is a favorite. As a movie it doesn't feel too long or too short either, with the first act being decent, to the second and third act being great. Overall it is worth checking out over the Mugen Train TV arc, because the content flows a lot better in movie form.

Demon Slayer Mugen Train is interesting because the first 2/3s of the film just felt like another demon slayer adventure where they are investigating, chasing down, and killing a demon. It was fun but nothing that personally stood out to me.
The demon Enmu worked as an antagonist but wasn’t too memorable to me. The characters were still lackluster to me (thoughts didn’t change on them from the first season). Rengoku was a nice addition and I enjoyed him for the most part.
Then comes the last third where a new demon comes in -Akaza- and this part overshadows the first two thirds so much, stakes were much higher, it was much more emotional and I believe the action was better. What I’ve said for the first season of Demon Slayer still stands here, story and characters are just ok but the fig…

I was excited to watch because friends said it was really good but it was underwhelming. Took a month to finish—not because it’s long, but because the plot drags like it’s stuck in slow motion. Physically made me feel tired so I had to pause it after about 20 minutes multiple times.
Visually, it’s stunning. Every frame is crisp, well-lit, and meticulously animated. You could pause anywhere and get a desktop wallpaper. But storytelling? That’s where it falls apart. If beautiful animation is enough, you might enjoy it. If you're looking for story, prepare to be underwhelmed.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when a whole movie was dedicated to a single arc, but wow—Mugen Train completely shattered my expectations.
Right from the first frame, the animation felt like a full-blown cinematic experience. Ufotable didn’t just deliver quality—they pushed it to a level where every flame, every slash, every tear looked alive. Watching it in a theater was honestly one of the best anime viewing experiences I’ve had.
What stood out most for me was how they balanced intense action with emotional weight. The story flow was tight, no filler, no wasted moments. And as someone who’s big on character depth, I really appreciated how they gave time to explore Rengoku’s backstory and personality. It made everything hit so much harder.
The fight scenes, especially near the end, were…

Yes, my friend, this movie is one of the highest grossing movies in Japan. The movie "Mogun Train" arc is the movie that made us realize that Kimetsu would be one of the greatest anime in history. The art is super fun and beautiful, even in the season. I watched it three years ago, and now for the second time today, April 17, 2025. It's a Friday. I want to say that Rengoku Kyojiro is one of the greatest characters in the anime. I know that some people won't like him because of his rare appearances and how we got to know him better, but watch the 7-episode season and you'll understand everything about his past. Yes, a great movie and for history. And Akaza shouts: My honor, where is my honor?
10/10 i recommendation it

The film has a simple story but the studio and also the artstyle really make the film into a high quality film, also series. Highly recommended for people who barely watch anime and want to watch a simple anime. The artstyle in this story is really fitting also unique. Some characters may have some flaws, but that is just how we humans are supposed to be. All the characters are unique and quite realistic. This film really focus on how we have to love ourselves and embrace our flaws. In the film, even though humans can’t live for a long time unlike demon, but that is truly the beauty of human itself.

It's been a good few years since I watched the first season of Demon Slayer but I still remember it vividly as if it were yesterday, I remember being so excited for this film and yet, I never watched it I missed its cinema run and thus never continued with the series, until now. Upon restarting my journey with Mugen Train, I was thrust back into the world of Demon Slayer without a second to spare and I am so happy to have finally watched it. Continuing the exceptional style and substance of storytelling I remember, one that sets my heart ablaze, in the best way imaginable, for amid the monster-slaying, there's a pointed celebration of how human weaknesses are our true strengths. The film manages to balance being outrageously funny, action-packed and emotionally devastating simultaneously,…

This movie was the peak of the Demon Slayer anime. It has an interesting story good pilot develops over time, This movie showed more character development than Season 1, Season 2, or any other season, and the fight scenes were great and the movie was never boring. It’s a great anime movie that’ll be worth your time. The characters in this movie were good they also showed more emotion and deepness than in any other season. Some people may not like it if they watch a decent amount of shounen animes. But the movie was beyond regular. So my clear point would be 8 out of 10.

One of the Year's Best Anime
The movie is one of the year's best anime. It is a bridge between the end of season 1 and the season 2. The pace is good with the finale an unexpected twist. Worth watching the series just to get to this movie.
However, the premise of the movie would be of some disappointment to the fans of the series. It is the first time a Hashira of such stature met with such fate. Won't reveal it but it is suffice to see that a few fans still get disappointed despite knowing the outcome. Just goes to show how well liked and well done the story line to illicit such response.
The song and music are great as usual. The emotions conveyed from the soundtrack tie well with the show. Watch it and you would not regret it.

It's just a 10, honestly. I'm sure I could sit here and find things to critique if I wanted, but does it matter when enjoyment is 10/10? The visuals/fight sequences are incredible in the series, but the movie takes it up a level. It far exceeds anything else we've seen in anime in that regard. This coupled with powerful voice acting and music makes for some truly magnificent scenes. Elsewhere, the protagonists are loveable, villains are menacing and story is compelling (especially if you've watched the anime beforehand so have an understanding of the world, characters and journey they're on). If you like fast-paced action I struggle to see how you rate this less than 10/10, you just don't get better than this in shounens. Amidst all the action they're able to create a lot of emotion in a s…

Mugen Ressha-hen easily possesses some of the worst storytelling mechanics anime has to offer, and the film itself is something of a trainwreck; no pun intended. The first act's inability to develop a sense of urgency derails the entire screenplay's direction and eventually its emotional impact. Sotozaki's oppressive approach to exposition, in addition to the overuse of gag expressions, doesn't serve as an inciting set-up for what's to come. Tanjiro's narration single-handedly ruins suspense, repetitive, and a massive plod in the middle of action sequences. In Enmu's final bit of inner monologue, he recognizes the slayers' skills, one instance of overdramatic dialogue. A derivative cast certainly contributes to forgettable experiences, although they are very much in character. Their person…

After a first somewhat mixed review on the first season of Kimetsu no Yaiba, here is a review of the second season, applicable to both the movie and series:
Story: 6/10
Similar to Season 1, the story isn't particularly original and we're not here for that anyway: Early 1900, iin Japan, people with superpowers, story about saving a girl and achieving revenge... we have 15 of these each season. Thankfully, it is narrated and paced well enough to remain interesting.
Art: 10/10
Simply gorgeous, the main reason behind this anime's success. The art style is both unique and fantastic, never ceases to please the eye.
Sound: 8/10
The opening and ending musics are just as bad as other anime (except Jujutsu Kaisen s1 - you did it right!), actual musics and sound design during the episodes are utt…

The three-act structure: Am I joke to you?
It was a fun, stress-free ride. Excellent art and animation, as usual with Ufotable, the action is also on top, so relaxing while watching is the most it.
But there are several problems. Due to the fact that the film is absolutely not self-sufficient and there are almost no global events, if you skip it and go straight to the second season, then you will literally lose nothing. Because at the beginning of the second season, they quickly explain all the main events.
But I would rather recommend than not, mostly just because of the animation, the story is weak.
The main villain is annoying by the way, and the subconscious of the characters was a little disappointing, because I wanted something more interesting.

I am one hour in the movie and I decided this was something worth to write a review for.
My very first and only review. The movie had multiple scenes that can take credit of being one of the best of the best fighting animations.
However something equally as impressive is the story but in the other way.
- UTTERYLY POINTLESS MONOLOGUES
- Train villain. I don't have words bad enough to explain that.
- Strong sentiment around overall dialog was annoying. It being unique or following personalities etc was clearly not enough to cover or they dragged it to far.
What a shame to pump a ton of money AND TIME in to this. Good animation should be following well planned and executed story. Not the other way around.
Anyways, you are better off watching the highlights on youtube. +/-70% of the movi…

What a pointless movie!
Fanboys, get your lube ready, this movie got some amazing animations, everything else: not so amazing... and corny as ever.
This movie could have been a 25min-episode if they didn't draw the fights out to infinity. Can't believe this went on for two hours.
Only point in watching this is if you only value cool animations, seriously.
Summary: Get on train, fall asleep, fight slimy things, watch Rengoku being badass, END.
Truth is, this is just for the fanboys. Not having seen the original series, this movie didn't resonate with me at all. The animation is good, but so are many animes. I just don't care for this style, a little too Pokemonish. Whole story is simple and cliche, action is mediocre. It's no Macross, but it has its moments.
I fell asleep twice in the…

One of the best anime movies that has a tv-series ever! The animation and art style is just like demon slayer. The fight scenes were amazing. The CGI was okay. I can tell which is CGI and which is not. To be honest I didn't like the CGI, but it is watchable. If you're a fan of demon slayer, then GO RIGHT AHEAD BECAUSE ITS GREAT AND SOMETHING YOU NEED TO WATCH! The main focus of the story is nothing. Just defeat an upper rank demon and there. The fight scenes had such an amazing fight angle, frame by frame is amazing, like looking at an art piece on a museum. The music is great as-well. I would give it a watch if you liked season 1 of demon slayer. If you're new and wanna watch the movie first. I wouldn't recommend it.

I feel increasing that the "Gekijō-ban/Theater Version" of this kind of popular anime series and the "animated movie" in our inherent concept has been divided into two things.
First, theatrical release ensures that Ufotable will present a more exquisite painting quality and special effects that they are good at. However, this makes Mugen Train Arc look more like an upgraded TV show than a movie.
Because this arc is part of the central axis of the Demon Slayer story, even if the story is not so difficult to understand, the entry of the characters in the last half hour and the shift of the main character's center of gravity will make people feel abrupt. A two-hour "movie" will make this more apparent.

I enjoyed Mugen Train a bunch! The continuation from Demon Slayer is nice.
The Story: I enjoyed the story. For some reason it reminded me of Murder on Orient express (Totally not because they are both mysteries on a train nope) but I enjoyed the creative nature of it too. I will be honest I was not a huge fan of Demon Slayer at first (Particularly I was not a fan of too much gore) and while this movie still has gore I looked passed it for some reason. It was good.
The music: I loved the intense battle music as well it was good.
The animation: HOLY CRAP ANIMATION WAS SO GOOD. Almost Kimi no na wa level it was good.
Why you should watch it: If you watched KnY then this is a no brainer.
Final Score: 8/10
Thanks!

The infinity train is a pretty cool movie. It's a sequel to the first season of demon slayer so you should watch that first. There's another version of this movie in the form of a 7 episode anime. The anime contains a bit more background information and connects to the previous season better. I would personally recommend watching the first episode of this anime and then watching the movie so you can combine the background information of the anime and the experience of the movie.
The story is a continuation of the first season and is about another demon they have to fight. It's just as, if not more, interesting than the story in the first season. There is a moment where there are dreams involved and the story becomes a bit harder to follow but it should be easy enough to follow if you pay…

"DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA THE MOVIE: MUGEN TRAIN"
Genre- Action, Supernatural, Super Power, Demons, Comedy, Historical, Shounen
The connection between someone doesn't necessarily need to be one where you know the person from long ago. It is never necessary that you should always stay with the person and follow them wherever they go. It doesn't mean you must be attached to them like a magnet or keep sticking around them. A connection is something that can be developed over a small period of time and it is something that can be richer than any bond that you may have shared, it may be more over-powering than anything that you ever experienced, and when it does reach that pinnacle, you must understand that this bond of yours is something that not even God can understand.
Semi-second s…
