Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!

Introduction

Having stood out from others most of her life due to her exceptional character, Misato Kurihara has lived without neither the joy of having close friends nor the experience of having a regular life. However, after a sudden death, she was transported to a divine realm to be reincarnated—and granted one wish to top it off. Thinking about the ordinary life that she had always wanted, she wished to be born as a normal person, with abilities that are average for the world she will resurrect in. Reborn as Adele von Ascham—the daughter of a noble—she possesses magic powers completely exceeding what one would label average. Still desiring to carry out the life she wanted, she leaves her home and enrolls at a hunter school in a faraway kingdom using "Mile" as an alias. However, try as she might to hide her overpowering potential, attaining her goal will be difficult—especially when facing against the crazy situations that ensue! [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Just finished Noukin, the first of FUNA trinity and you know what? It's better than the truly forgettable stuff, but nowhere near the genuinely good stuff. Meets Mile, she got isekai'd by Truck-kun and asks to be an average girl in her next life. God screws up the math, and she gets averaged against an Elder Dragon, the strongest thing in that world and also the weakest creature of that world (prob a slime, the anime didn't mention it). The whole show is basically her being clueless about this while everyone around her slowly loses their minds. The problem is that the gag only has one gear. By halfway of the anime I could pretty much predict it: someone's in danger, Mile holds back, Mile doesn't hold back enough, everyone stares at her, Mile goes, "Is that not normal?" Rinse and repeat.…

Another show I should of dropped early. They immediately had some villain who is trying to create a harem of little girls, and I feel like it may be the author's fantasy instead. the main character is self conscious about breast size, it's a plot point brought up a lot, despite being a child. Like super cringe. In terms of direct fanservice though, it was mostly just cute until the last few episodes. The tone is super inconsistent. This show presents itself as sort of a cute show, but the characters have super dark and violent backstories. Maybe violence isn't considered as adult in japan, but it doesn't seem appropriate for the vibe of the show. Like the plot about the main character getting mad about people calling her flat chested is mixed with a girl's family getting murdered in front…

This show is actually pretty good. At first, it looked very boring and the MC was giving a quirky and annoying vibe, she of course does keep that throughout the whole show but it wasn't the "main joke." For the story and overall quality of this show, its pretty boring and irrelevant to what actually makes the show good, the comedy. The jokes in this show are pretty decent and I laughed or chuckled a little bit at every episode... for the first half. The first half is arguably much better than the second half of the show, it focuses more on its comedic aspects and doesn't really delve into any deep storylines. THATS WHAT IT SHOULD BE DOING. Many great comedy shows (e.g., Gintama) don't really have a story, or they start making a story towards the end to put the show to rest. But this show…

“Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!” is what happens when You almost understand the structure and form of a parody. As much as I hate to admit it, given how cliché this show is overall, I was actually impressed a few times with the writing. Unlike most comedy / parody shows, this one uses contrast rather effectively in a few places. The main gripe I have with a lot of shows that try to poke fun at cliches, stereotypes and genres in general is that they rapid fire, not so funny, jokes at You and hope You get entertained. That’s not how You write a meaningful comedy. You need contrast to let the jokes breathe and for the viewer to have something more meaningful. Otherwise You run the risk that Your audience will forget about your show the moment it ends. Having a g…

The first five episodes give the impression that we’re in for a lighthearted, funny isekai-style adventure. The magical world feels alive, the characters are likable, and there's decent chemistry between them. The animation is well done, the scenes are nicely staged. The humor works well enough, and it seems like we’re in for an easygoing journey with a bit of self-awareness and light emotion. But halfway through, it suddenly shifts into wild drama, turning the world into a depressing mess where parents are constantly killed in front of children, child slavery exists, and there’s a crazy monarchy, all very grim and medieval. Then we're shown a cheerful party of heroes, only for them to be brutally killed off too. The twist is so intense it’s almost funny, despite all the tragedy. After th…

Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne!" is an isekai that fully embraces its charm, comedy, and overpowered protagonist in the best possible way. It starts with a wish to live a normal life — and turns that into a hilarious and heartwarming adventure where nothing goes quite as planned. The strength of this anime lies in its balance: it’s cute but not shallow, action-packed but not overwhelming, and funny without losing emotional depth. The friendships between the characters are genuine and enjoyable, giving the show a strong emotional core amid the jokes and magical antics. Visually, it's colorful and expressive, with a light art style that fits its cheerful tone perfectly. The series also enjoys poking fun at isekai clichés while still delivering satisfying fantasy elements,…

I won't spoil anything major, I will say that yes it does adapt that chapter, this is 12 episodes long, and if you read the wn/ln you know what that chapter is, that should tell you everything you need to know for pacing. Now, I don't know if what I read was the ln or the wn, I personally don't care, what I read was far FAR better than this, and I choose to blame the animation studio deciding that instead of a young adult level story, they need to to make it appeal to the kindergarten level, and from there make up a bunch of crap that doesn't happen and characters that don't exist. When this got announced, I was looking forward to it, only for THIS pile of crap to come out. I will be honest, if this faithfully followed the ln and I only read the wn, that's on me, but the author themsel…

The anime is not bad in itself, but comparing it with other animes of its season then you could say that it is a not so average isekai with little touches of CGDCT. Still, the aspect of the tenderness and the regretful emotional scenes is something I can highlight about this anime. As you read, the anime adaptation has skipped the arc of the academy where "Adele" was, which is considered important to empathize with our protagonist and understand her even better, but personally, it is not that difficult to connect. with her and the main group of friends she has, they are just different personalities and necessary for this isekai story to work. In short, if you're going to watch this anime, do it mainly to have a good time, just enjoy it as much as you can. ☕💕 -Translated from English to…

Flat-chest humor doesn't really bother me any more than any other crude humor. I'd say about 50% of the attempted humor in this show revolves around breast size. It's not even an ecchi show. Seems excessive. Only 2 flavors. Baddy comments on flat chest and is punished or insecurity over breast size inspires protagonist to behave abhorrently. This summarizes much of the show. I enjoyed the many interspersed classic anime references throughout. Unfortunate that it began to feel like a crutch to hobble through. Generally the only enjoyment I received from each episode. They chose great shows to reference and they did the references well, mostly. The setting was actually incredibly interesting. A shame maybe a cumulative 10 minutes was spent exploring it in the entire 12 episodes. Most of wh…

"Didn't I say to make my abilities average in the next life" is an anime adaption of the light novel series by FUNA. The anime follows the story of Misato Kurihara, a teenage girl who is reincarnated into a fantasy world with magical abilities. Wanting to avoid standing out and attracting attention, she requests to have average abilities in her new life. The anime blends elements of comedy, fantasy, and slice of life to create an entertaining and light-hearted viewing experience. One of the standout aspects of the series is its how she wants to be average in this Isekai genre. Offering a refreshing twist in the typical overpowered protagonist trope. To bad she ends up being over powered. The interactions between the characters are charming and often lead to funny and heartwarming moments…

DISCLAIMER This is my opinion as someone who vividly read the source material, the light novel, and thus comparing it to it in context of adaptation. I am not saying it shouldn't be enjoyable or if it were bad but I am just talking about how this adaptation physically and mentally hurts me. END OF DISCLAIMER When i started reading the light novel i started taking a massive liking to the writing style, characterization and way of making use of a more realistic approach to young women traveling as an adventurers party. This adaptation may be enjoyable by itself but I feel nothing but massive dread when comparing it to the source material. Characters whos character got completely changed (Reina), complete change of morals in the world (where did the swimsuit episode come from??), skipping…

I see your CGDCT anime hiding behind the guise of an isekai. It's not even the first fantasy anime I've seen do that. The fact that this is an isekai is just a byproduct of it's light novel origins, that and it's stupid title and gimmicky premise. You can lamp shade isekai tropes all you want, it doesn't make them any less overused. Why not just have it be in a normal fantasy setting? The story doesn't even need to change, just have the main girl be so strong because she's secretly from that royal family. But then they can't make constant meta jokes about otaku culture and other Japanese stuff. Maybe I'm just too cynical, but it's hard to come at these shows with a fresh eye every time. They just won't stop making them, and they probably won't any time soon. I guess you might as well enjo…

Let's start by saying that I watched this in the dubbed version, and so I already know much of what I am feeling about this show relates to the version in which I watched it. Nevertheless, for me, this is what the show equates to - meh I didn't feel any kind of way about the characters. I didn't feel any kind of way about the story. I only finished it because I didn't want to bother starting a new show. I think there were just a little too many cliches and overused tropes in this story that made it feel very familiar and unoriginal to me. I don't think I would recommend this

On the surface, this seems to be another isekai that follows the common trend of recent years, and in many cases it is. Its premise even reminds me of " I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level", but this anime predates that. However, there are lots that make this anime stand out on its own. The story feels condensed, mostly due to the 12 episode constraint, which is a shame but it isn't all bad. From the very beginning, it establishes our setting, characters, and overarching premise quickly enough to proceed with its events. The adventures that we follow throughout are fun and interesting and gives it a lively feeling. This anime pretty much has a slice-of-life aspect, following a certain cast and have the focus solely on them. Everything about the story is very "cut…

I loved this. There are many "meta" moments and references to popular culture. The MC (Miles) wanted to be average in this isekai but due to the 'scope' of the average being larger than they intended, the average is skewed toward the OP side. The MC tries to act more average, but is not very good at faking it. I hope to see a season 2 at some point to reveal what happens next. One thing a new viewer may need to be aware of when watching is that 'YES, this is the first episode'. Unlike most isekai, it isn't until a good way through that we see anything from how the MC died in their past life, or how they got where they are, as it starts off with them already grown, even though they had been reborn. The reason for this is explained when her backstory is revealed, but it is important for new…

A light-hearted gem, with an adorable cast and a wealth of in-jokes and references. On the face of it, 'Didn't I say...' is a generic isekai, we have Truck-kun, an OP MC going to adventurer's school and joining a party who train, then go adventuring together and (eventually) meet some plot. So why did I like it so much? Well execution can make a big difference and this has a lot going for it: for a start it quickly becomes an ensemble, with loads of detailed interactions between the cast members and a whole episode dedicated to everyone's backstories. This increased level of character development alone makes the show stand out over other generic isekai, with their cardboard cutout harems and hangers-on. Each of the girls has a clearly defined (if tropey) personality, especially our MC A…

I love me some generic Isekai trash. I’m content to watch a quirky, overpowered protagonist carve a niche out for themselves in generic fantasyland with whatever twist they bring to the formula. Even if it’s narratively stale, I’m usually satisfied, and I’m likewise happy to recommend whatever I just watched to my anime-watching kindred spirits. I can’t recommend Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne! (henceforth abbreviated God Bless Me?) to anyone, though. It’s a shame, since it began with such a cute premise. Story: 1/10 The story begins with a simple enough premise. Mile, with her freakishly high power level, does her best at the Hunter Academy to be as average as possible. Though she blunders in hiding her skills, she succeeds in making friends and forming an adventuring…

This anime is comedian anime. The comedy thing mostly based on other parody anime. So here is the elements of this anime Commedy : B - S Yup, the jokes is for the one that give all his life to anime. If you are new in anime world i didnt recomend this thing, so,e reviewer that give bad score it because they are new and dont know the refrence about the joke. Story : B This is an anime comedy so the story is average. The MC has a normal purpose of life but she ruin it all of the time. The episode only tell us about how they are doing their mission as hunter. In certain episode each character has their own problem and solve clearly in each episode so may be i will put B+ for this great job. Battle Scene : A I think i will put B on the battle scene but they are make some surprise at last…

This is another isekai genre. It started not so bad but without main goal in the story. I will list pros and cons for you. Hope it helps you to decide whether this is your taste. Before pros and cons, if you are looking for romance or slight of life, you will be disappointed. Even though, some say this is Yuri, it's not. Pros 1. Cute girl (not matured woman) 2. OP female MC (which is kinda new) 3. Time skip, to avoid school bored slice of life arc, author skip (which is kinda new idea) Cons 1.Repetitive excuse. MC doesn't want to be in spotlight but with the same excuse, every time, she jump into it. 2. As the story name stated, MC didn't want great power, but always jump into trouble and using her OP power. 3. Try to make a serious plot into a slice of life genre. 4. Many weird logic.

Light-hearted, fun, typical reincarnated into another world kind of anime. So people who watch this - just prepare that it isn't as super plot or super in-depth kind of stuff, but it's a light-hearted anime filled with funny moments and funny references to other anime. Hence I gave a 5 for the story. Not bad for an Isekai anime, but I've watched too much out of it to predict what's next in the story. I personally enjoyed it after watching Anohana and Angel Beats - helped took my mind off of them. The sound that accompanied each moment re-emphasised that this was meant to be a light-hearted anime, similar to the Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom anime
