This show is lowkirkenuinely kinda peak.
The only main flaw with this show is the story which is kinda bland at points and sometimes confusing. There are some moments where a little more background information and explanation would help. But the show overall is still definitely worth watching. Personally, the best part of this show was the overall atmosphere. It's not your basic forest and plains with your big ass stone kingdom with markets everywhere. They actually took their time to make every scene look unique and memorable. The CGI was also very well done; it rarely felt clunky and was barely noticeable. The characters are alright... but some of the relationships sometimes feel forced, and I think some of them may have been forgotten halfway through 🤔. But these relationships (mainl…

Knight's & Magic is by all means a fun and simple watch!
This show is good on its own for a personal watch but it made it ten times better watching it with my buddy. There are a few scenes here and there that have their comedic value. I'd also like to mention that I hate "gundams" or mech animes in general. Knight's & Magic was different!
Its mechs are well drawn and the plot is simple and easy to go along with. The main character is overpowered but not in an over the top way. It's enough to keep the battles interesting without being nervous if everything will topple over in the span of a second. There's a real energy to the quirky enjoyment his obsession of robots as well. Do I think that the show needed to be an isekai at all? No. Do I really mind though? No.
That being said, I think…

A fun "turn your brain off" isekai that will never see a second season. (8bit is busy cashing in the slime show)
It's a rare example of fantasy mixing with mechs. I'm normally not a fan of mech shows because they tend be kind of depressing. (see most popular Gundam shows and spaghetti people politics) This evades that problem by having basically zero stakes and a protagonist that can fix any problem near instantly.
The animation is serviceable, but it isn't going to blow you away. The same can be said of the music. It's a good way to kill some time, best enjoyed with friends and/or lacking sobriety.
Like I said it's fun, not a masterpiece of high quality writing.

6/10. Nothing special at best and inoffensive at worst. The premise is the run-of-the-mill isekai slop, though the harping about programming like it’s some superpower and the clear ‘literally me’ MC can get a little eye roll-y. The mech designs, at least are pretty cool and the Ikaruga makes for one of the more memorable things the show has to offer.
The episodes blaze by events, often to the story's detriment. But that same fast pacing is a bit of a catch-22. There's never any time to develop strong attachments to anything, nor is there a chance for anything to overstay its welcome or for you to dwell on the show's flaws.
The ones who often suffer the most from this are the characters. The cast is so large and events fly by so fast, aside from some notable ones like Dietrich they blend…

Another Isekai that involves Mecha but It was short lived for its time.

" Knight's & Magic was originally a Web Novel published by Hisago Amazake-no on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō Web Site in October of 2010. By 2016 seven novels had been published with 107 chapters between them. In January 2013 it was made into a Light Novel with…

A run of the mill reincarnation Isekai with the twist that the main character is a complete dweeb and can't stop fantasizing about piloting a Gundam, to the point that the majority of the plot is pushed along by his love for bipedal humanoid fighting robots.
The story of the show is.. fine, nothing spectacular but decent for the show's grade. There's only so much you can do in a 13-episode fantasy Isekai action series, and the series doesn't try to overstep its bounds. The show follows a pretty steady sequence of action followed by exposition and/or the development of new robot stuff, followed by action again. The art is actually decent, though there's a few scenes that obviously had much more love put into them than others. Voice acting is fine and the character design is pretty good, t…

The truth is, this show is okay, definitely of 'okay' or 'fine', nothing particularly stands out at all, the core theme is mecha fights, but the mecha fights aren't that intense or have any interesting plot driving it home, very basic overall story, characters, plot, pretty much everything. You 100% know the main character's group will never get defeated in a bad way, even if they lose, everyone stays alive despite being in a war.
This can be a good pastime, however as I was watching this, in the back of my mind I thought; why not finish the entire Gundam series instead as it is superior in every way, which is what I am about to do now.

Knight's & Magic
If I had to describe the show with one word it would be: Competent
The world-building is fundamentally a baseline on how to do a fantasy setting right, everything is correctly built up, we get more than enough info of both the world and the magic-system so it is fully logical, understandable and intriguing.
I made fun of the base premise*, but it was an effective and necessary setup for the story to be told this way.
The characters are really well done, all have their agencies, several of them have their own arcs, and even their own lives and thinking are completely logical and intelligent so they feel relatable and human, even their flaws come from their base character so even when they fail it is sympathetic.
For the plot I just go back to the word of today's review:…

Why a full 10? Because I haven't had this much fun watching anime in a long time and unapologetically cool shows make me very happy.
It's a break-neck paced medieval mecha anime that doesn't waste any time in getting to the fun and it feels refreshing.
Don't look for any character development or complicated sub-plots, this is entirely a 'what if' scenario of what could happen if a gunpla nerd got isekai'd into a fantasy world where magic mecha technology has stagnated for hundreds of years.
The story has plenty of developments and never gets boring. You have your friends, your highly entertaining 'you'll rue the day' villains, new mecha nearly every episode and best of all a one-and-done season with a conclusion.
There are plenty of references as well, as well as a cheeky remark on ho…

Knight's & Magic (2017)
Who just stands still when a car is hurling towards them, like literally take 3 steps forward or just don't stop?
For a show made in 2017, it honestly feels much older than that in the way it looks. Also using the Infinite Stratos style ending with the running is classic.
The show whilst entertaining completely moves away from the monsters quite quickly. Instead of an amazing protagonist, you have your normal Isekai with many holes. The main character was a programmer, not an engineer, designer, or someone particularly knowledgeable of combat, and yet here he is the master of everything and still a young child. Imagine going to a race with hundreds of years of history and suddenly uprooting it all like nothing. This is that sort of anime. The main character is t…

I watched Knight's & Magic. Here are my thoughts:
This anime is about a geeky programmer who gets isekai'd into a fantasy world where he is transformed into an androgynous mecha-fanatic (inb4: wow he's literally me!). The isekai world is like a medieval fantasy setting but with mechs added. Basically, this is a typical isekai show but with a lot of mecha-related content. If you stripped away the mecha theme, this would be an utterly generic medieval isekai. The mecha theme in a medieval setting is the only thing this anime has going for it – there really isn't any other selling point. In general this show feels fun and self-aware of its own silliness.
After the first couple episodes I was feeling cautiously optimistic about this anime, but as I progressed further my enthusiasm declined.…

Don't get me wrong, this anime is truly trash but it's trash close to my heart.
Some have given Knight's and Magic poor marks for its lackluster characters and character development, or its bland uninteresting world-building, but who cares about those things when you have fantasy mechs? What, you like good stories with meaningful characters and well-thought-out plots? No, that can't be right when we have mechs.
This really is all this anime is about, just cool mechs fighting monsters and other mechs while children drive them. Ernesti, our reincarnated girly-boy is a fairly basic isekai protag, a former programmer and otaku who finds themselves born into a new world after a graceful encounter with a truck. Luckily for Ernesti this world has giant robots powered by magic, (sorry I mean, '…

There are a ton of problems that this show has, just like how they skipped a lot of the story and used the narrator to just say the things that happened in between the time skips, there is also the fact that the show did not bother to explain the reason for how and why the MC was reincarnated in this world in the first place and another personal problem for me is how the MC just took over someone's body but the parents did not give a single crap about how they're son just started acting like a different person and accepted it without saying anything.. But regardless of such problems this show is very fun and if you love mecha and Isekai then hey this is the thing in one, If you're planning on watching this show you'd see 60% of the cast just building and revolutionizing mech's and 40% mech…

Mecha Otaku who earns a living as a programmer, gets a kiss from Truck-kun, and ends up Isekaid in a world where steampunk interior, scifi outerior mecha robots powered by magic are used to fight off monsters and wage war.
Animation / Art / General Visuals - 9/10
-----------------------------------------------
The visuals are pretty damn good. The mecha design and animation is beautiful. Smooth and subtle 3D usage makes the mechs look absolutely amazing and the combat between them and monsters feels visceral.
Non-mech aspects are pretty good as well, with clean designs and animations. The show is certainly enjoyable to watch visually. Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 7/10

This anime was not at all bad. STORY WAS RUSHED. There was a lot of plot holes and conveniences and all in all, felt like a history class. The story was told like a history book. Only statin the events that took place while showing the mecha battles. Now I love the history aesthetic of the anime but I wished it played out more like a story. Anime is in my opinion, one of the best ways to tell a story. All this anime was, is just facts of a fictional world while having mech battles. It didn't show any of the build up to the fights nor gave any emotional importance to them. This show was also essentially a one man shows. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF ONE MAN SHOWS. Don't even begin to imagine the amount of bullshit OP MC…

Ah yes, the mecha genre. That glorious form of entertainment in which giant robots fight each other, popularized by stories like Gundam, Power Rangers and Transformers. Knight's & Magic (weird title, I know) enters the arena to earn its place in such a respected genre. So, is it good? Well, let's hop on and find out, shall we?
Story
This is where things start to go wrong for Knight's & Magic. There is no actual story. The only thing that even remotely passes for a story is the main character Ernie's interest in robots and he wants to construct as many robots as he can... because he likes robots. Really, the "story" (yes, the air quotes are intentional) is just an excuse to feature as many designs for robots as possible and to make them fight, either against giant monsters or other robots.…

Normally I don't really like Mecha shows, but this being a Fantasy Isekai Robot Mix I gave it a chance. I liked the focus on engineering and politics during most of the beginning (with the show hovering around an 8 there), but the last few episodes when the "Grand Storm" arc started around Episode 9 seemed very hurried along to finish, with what seemed like relevant and interesting plot points and major character development written off in short "several months passed" narrated sequences and fast-forwarding to the end of important battles, making most battle scenes seem somewhat meaningless and investment in the new characters impossible (falling to around a 6 or maybe 5 for the final episode). The final battle was also all kinds of stupid, reminding me why I usually don't like Mecha shows…

this is a good anime and also for those of you who like robots or mecha it's mandatory to watch this anime, if only I could assemble a big mecha :v
the story is not too heavy, relax because mc is calm
the art is also good what else when in the action mecha it becomes SUPER COOL
The sound is quite lacking, if I'm not mistaken, the mecha doesn't have sound or is my volume too low when I watch it
The character is pretty good even though it's like a loli, but the soul is an office worker otaku
because this anime is not too heavy, so when I watch it, I usually enjoy it or really enjoy it

MINOR SPOILERS!
the first five minutes of episode one are basically irrelevant. apparently, a robot otaku died and got reincarnated in this other(?) world. honestly, the reincarnation isn't explained at all and it took me a few episodes to realize that's what happened, as the main character has no recollection of this past life.
it kind of just seems... thrown out there that the main character ended up being reincarnated. like if this series just started in this world with the same exact fantasy-main character it would've taken the exact same path.
normally, i like robot/mech anime. but this was just... something else and not in a good way. it was boring in my opinion. i was yawning a bunch throughout it. one new design gets introduced and added to the mechs in one episode and in the n…

So l'll tell now itself than the anime is just a waste of time. The anime just represents a childhood fantasy and even though the MC is kind of OP, he acts in the shittiest way possible.
I didn't see a lot of mecha animes, but this anime was good in the the first 4 to 5 episodes but after that I just skipped because to me it just comes under the category of "Kids" and story becomes just boring.
So I finished this and after some months I continued code geass season 1 from where I left of and I completed it. This made me realize how fking cringe is this anime. I don't know wheatear its the story's or creator's fault , but you prefer more good fighting and good story like "code geass" or "that time I got reincarnated as a slime" or maybe "Death march, jujutsu kaisen and other stuffs", then…
