Digimon Adventure is truly a gem.
What does it mean to be a child? To grow up? To evolve? According to Digimon Adventure, the very first anime in the franchise, children grow and change by working through their inner struggles, and via their bonds to others (in this case, their Digimon).
With pure nostalgia and high rewatchability, Digimon Adventure is perhaps one of the best isekai out there (before the genre was even a thing).
The story starts off simple enough, monster-of-the-week style, to introduce the world and characters to the audience. 7 kids at summer camp are thrown into a strange world, where the only way to survive is by fighting alongside the peculiar monsters they encounter from the get-go.
But something magical starts happening by the end of the first arc. The bonds b…

I finally watched Digimon Adventure from start to finish, and it was an experience that blended nostalgia, fun, and a few surprises.
My connection to Digimon was always stronger through the games than the anime. As a child, I only caught a few scattered episodes on TV, so my strongest memory of the franchise came from *Digimon World 4* on the PS2. It was the first four-player cooperative game I ever played, so seeing characters like Agumon again stirred up a huge wave of nostalgia. Even though I hadn't followed the entire series back then, it was impossible not to be reminded of that time in my life.
Regarding the anime specifically, it clearly follows a formula that was very popular at the time. A group of kids is transported to an unknown world, where they meet their Digimon partners a…

My journey towards the world of anime began with Digimon. As a kid it felt so relatable to watch and develop the strong connection to the world of Digimon. The story was really captivating and the character development of each character made this series so loved in my eyes. I am really inspired by Taichi and agumon, their bond and courage was so inspiring. The series leaves an impact and belonging even today. For me Digimon is special and will ever be.
Just watch it, its simply 10/10. The story is unique and amazing, with individual character development and growth.

So, I first watched a very small amount (9 or 10) episodes as a kid in English dub, loved it. Then as a 20 year old adult, I watched the whole thing in Japanese... loved it. Digimon Adventure is an incredible achievement in low budget children's anime, because this is definitely a children's anime but unlike most kids tv, its actually very well written. The character development of Taichi and Mimi in particular, but all of the mains in general, is so very well done and actually quite compelling, one episode even deals with PTSD which is insane for a 90s kids anime, its so good. The setting of this bizarre world where they are the only 7 humans is just brilliant in adding jeopardy and mystery to the affair and it allows for conflict to feel like a natural by-product of the environmental fac…

It is probably just my nostalgia goggles but I really like Digimon. I think the characters (while may not be the deepest out there) are charming and the animation is cool. Unlike Pokemon, the show has some actual plot that feels like it has stakes and the characters do grow and become better people. And, to my child brain at least, the fight scenes were very fun even if a lot of them were essentially monster of the week and kind of formulaic. Still though, this first season of Digimon is the best season of Digimon in my opinion and the one worth watching.

Digimon. The memories. While Pokemon was always number 1 with games and cards the anime for Digimon was always the superior one. Remember watching it every morning. With the continous and evolving plot with cliffhanger episode ending there was always more excitement looking forward to whats gonna happen next.
The fact that i can still watch and play Digimon today is the big difference with Pokemon. Theres more plot. Darker story. Some more mature themes. The monster design are darker. Pokemon just feels to simple for my adult self today. Both in games and anime while i still enjoy playing Digimon games.
Dark masters. Myotismon. Peak of the show.
Great music. Although only in original Japanese version. I rewatched it fairly recently and only noticed it then. But the westernized versio…

Digimon Adventure
Either you loved Digimon, Pokemon, or both. For me, it was without a doubt Digimon and with this season my love for this Anime began. Each day before school, I watched the episodes and kept listening to the music over and over again. That was undoubtedly a beautiful childhood, unfortunately, childhood memories are always different.
That's why I sacrificed my childhood memories to watch that show again. This resulted in a very unpleasant disaster because as expected, it's far worse than you can imagine.
For kids it is still highly recommended, children are not interested in anything but an emotional story and that is exactly what Digimon is all about. Music, emotions, friendship, and fights for good. That's all you need to like it. At least if you are still very young.…

Hello, my dear reviewes reader. Today, we're going to talk about an anime that's been around for quite some time now. I'm talking about Digimon Adventure, an anime that's been entertaining kids and adults alike for over two decades.
Set in a digital world, Digimon Adventure follows the adventures of a group of young children who find themselves transported to a parallel universe filled with all sorts of fantastic creatures. With their own digital monsters by their side, the children must navigate this new world and fight against evil forces that threaten to destroy it.
Now, I must admit that when it comes to anime, Digimon Adventure is a bit more aimed at children. However, that doesn't mean that adults can't…

Digimon Adventure 1999 is about 7 children that get isekaied (sent to a different world) into a digital world full of digital monsters also called Digimon. Their original goal is to find a way home but soon develops to the desire to protect the world instead. Each child gets a partner Digimon they befriend and together they do their best to survive in that harsh unfamiliar world.
Constantly referred to as a Pokemon rip-off because it came out later and both have mon in their names, Digimon manages to create its own identity with its setting and how the monsters have more dimensions compared to Pokemon.
Digimon differentiate themselves by having more than 4 evolution lines and have a lot of split evolution paths based on the condition they evolve. However, in this show the later only happe…

Even though this series was created to sell kids toys, it ended up being such an incredible series. It holds such a special place for me, I know it’s nostalgia and other things that contribute to it but even without that, this series is great. It shows things that other kids shows wouldn’t dare show even though they are things that happen in normal children’s lives. Adoption, divorce, bad relationships with parents. It’s unique for that. It’s also unique that is had stakes. There is loss that the characters deal with, there are victories that they celebrate and grow from. It’s funny too, even the English dub that is just insane. It has such heart. The character are impeccable for me. They are very well rounded and flawed in equal parts. They clash and work together so well. The story is a…

What an adventure.
After nearly 20 years here we go again.
Did I remember this series was so good? Yep.
Did I remember how incredlby well written was the story? No, but I am really surprised how something I thought was childish years ago, now looks so mature even with its childish humour and stuffs.
Did I remember how incredlby awful were the CGI evolutions? Oh, yes, they are reaaally bad. Did I remember how every fight in this series it's basically anti-climatic? No, and I'm a bit disappointed. But after all, it's not a shonen, so I can bypass the bad animated fighting scenes.
Did I remember Yamato had a 30 years old voice? Nope, absolutely not, and it's quite disturbing. As a child I've watched it in italian, and it sounded so differently compared to the japanese one. Maybe the i…

As Nabokov once remarked in the first line of his superb autobiographical novel Speak, Memory, the cradle rocks above an abyss, and common sense tells us that our existence is but a brief crack of light between two eternities of darkness. I was one of those things that come into existence in a brief crack of light, and a few months ago did my mother slyly mentioned that an unfamiliar sight of a moving screen had rendered me crying for the rest of the day while I went back home for the first day in my life, and the programme that was shown on the TV screen was none other than Digimon Adventure, a show that was probably my earliest encounters with anime, or any type of show in general, which was being watched by my sister who valued it as the single greatest thing ever, and hitherto. The sho…

Call me Tai because I'm sliding my nostalgia goggles firmly into place.
The one that started it all. One could call it the Baby Form of the Digimon franchise, if they wanted to, but that frankly does a disservice to the series that set the bar for everything that came after it - something that most series of Digimon would fail to do.
It's worth stating up front that Digimon was one of my favorite media franchises period when I was a kid. Pokemon was a fun game, but I always preferred Digimon as a show, and it was really what led me into the world of fandom on the internet at all. I learned about fanfic from it, and shipping, and a lot of my early forays into the net as a preteen tot were Digimon motivated. To call it formative to who I am as a person is probably an understatement, and th…

(review of the 4kids English dub)
I absolutely love this anime! My brother as a kid watched this show, so in turn it caused me to have a natural interest in it. As I watched it when I was young the quality was obviously far different to how I see it as today; However, select episodes in the beginning, and most of the second half of the anime the animators, and sound designers mastered the atmosphere so well that it spoke to me in ways I can't explain. Each, and every Digimon's design is so 90's, yet iconic in the most wonderful way possible. This anime has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I'm happy that it has been.

My favorite anime of all time. I'll try to review it using my head rather than my heart. Rsrs. God knows how I wanted to score this anime with a big 10. Still, it would mean putting it at the same level as Fullmetall Alchemist and above Steins, Fate, Death Parade, and other excellent adult shows. Digimon is suitable for all ages, therefore can't do certain things (and don't need to). I think it's like comparing a child to an adult, which is clearly unfair. But I must say, what an exceptional child!
I watched it as a child and loved it. A few years ago, I rewatched, fearing to destroy a good memory of my childhood, but, in the end, I got even more impressed with its quality.
Digimon revolves around eight children and their partners, the Digimons. Each of the children has a distinctive pers…

my first anime when i'm a kid. the story is very well written, it's not only about kids saving the world but also dive deeper into the kids personal life and problem and how the resolve each problem with the help of their partner.
the music is one of the best anime music ever created, and the art is aging very well. the art style works very well with the series.
every story arc is very well written. the first arc maybe too slow for some people because they dive into each of the character each episode and considering there are 7 main character which takes 7 episode, it's not rare to find people that prefer the other arc but the first arc became the foundation of each how we viewer see the character and from that we can see just how much the character have change from their journey.

It’s August 1st, 1999!
On this day exactly 20 years ago, these were the words spoken by an 11-year-old boy after discovering at his home in Odaiba during his summer vacation that...well, I don’t want to spoil anyone here. It’s been exactly 2 full decades since that odd snowy summer day when 7 children were sucked by a giant wave into an unknown world where they would meet some small, strange talking creatures that claimed had been waiting for them for a long time and would live together the most important journey of their lives, kicking off the story of the 1st series of a franchise that, despite never reaching the levels of popularity of its most direct “rival” (that only happens to be the most successful media franchise of all time), still managed to become one of the most iconic and mo…

Digimon Adventure is the first show from my childhood that I've given the time and effort to rewatch and has dissappointed me massively.
While a lot of this dissappointment might come from the fact that I watched the Latin American dub of the show (which is not how I usually watch other shows, and is really badly produced), I still can't imagine how anybody over the age of 15 could seriously enjoy this show as a whole, unlike other "childhood anime" like Dragon Ball, Yu-gi-Oh, or Pokemon. Let me explain:
Back when I was a kid, I remember liking Digimon. I watched the first 4 seasons after school everyday and then I grew out of it, but my memories of the show were pretty much nonexistent, unlike other shows I watched back then.
I remembered the little bat hamster becoming an angel and t…

I Mean, its very Nostalgic, to say the least!
Digimon Adventure surely is compared to Pokémon, but not even close to be the same thing.
I remember seeing it when i was only a 7~8y in the living room screaming for agumon and company to beat the "digibaddies" up, but after 18 years i started rewatching it for the MAL anime challenge, and OH BOY IM GLAD I DID.
it is fun, has a lot of memorable moments (first digievolutions, wada, wada) and its memorable after the end.... Im no anime expert, but i surely recommend this, it'll surely make you entertained the entire ride
