this anime will hold a special place in my heart i almost cried on the last ep. the show remindes me of sankarea undaying love because the girls look the same but both have had huge emotional impacts on me, even tho the story doesnt have much depth its peak and i do recommend you to watch it if you like sankarea undying love, maid sama, midoria days. its also has a "dark" or mysterious vibe which i also liked. i dont have anything else to say but i have to reach the word count so i can publish my comment.

I'm going to focus in judging this as a Horror show, because I'm a big fan of Horror and this anime is tag as such. It's really difficult for me to judge this one as a Horror, because although the vibe is right and It plays with horror elements, It distracts It self with this horny teenage pseudo romance between a shy boy and a dead girl's ghost, to the point of being annoying. Even the ending revolves around this "Romance" and It's really bad.
To any horror fan looking for something with this title, keep this in mind, It's 75% a horny ghost molesting a boy and 25% Horror story. If you don't mind the 75%, go for It, otherwise, don't bother.

Look, I knew what I'm getting into when I'm watching this story about a boy falling in love with a ghost girl. I knew I'm gonna cry tears and stuff, and it doesn't lessen the impact at all. The clearest success of this anime is that it lulls you in with the romcom hijinks, and in the meantime it slowly builds up the details of the main mystery. It makes you care about the main character's relationship with the ghost by depicting their advances in ways that you would see in a normal slice of life romance anime, but the art direction is consistently successful at filling the school's old and unpolished interior with a sense of unease and dread, thus creating a strong clash of vibes. Even though it is not subtle about what is going to happen, and I guess you can call it predictable, there's s…

The most perfect romance anime I've ever watched since Kaguya in 2023. The plot building is so perfect that I just didn't realize I've watched the entire anime in a marathon, even though I never intended to. The plot is unpredicatable, the drama is not too cringe, the character development is very good. This anime has the same atmosphere like monogatari series, and honestly? even though I despise them, I absolutely loved it on this anime. You will never regret watching this anime if you've spend months searching for good romance anime like me. Absolutely masterpiece. There is no single episode that made me uncomfortable watching it. It is just that good.

If you've seen Kotoura-san this is better but not too different in broad story and (conflicting dramedy) themes.
The clashing ecchi-harem romcom and drama aspects force it into a nonserious halfassed story style that severely undermines its attempts at darker themes.
This claims to be horror but it really really isn't, it's a harem romcom with 1 dark drama ministory repeated twice.
A lot of the story is extremely on-the-nose parallelism of the 1-note mystery behind how the ghost girl died.
A ton of the show is just following the paranormal club to see a ghost rumor play out at the school as a vehicle for generic romcom virgin-kun and ghost girl to be embarrassed and repeat lovey-dovey cringe dialogue and artificial drama as soapy romance-bait alongside filler of dead horse beating repetit…

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia stands out because it actually knows how to mix ghost story chills with a school mystery and still pull off genuine heart. The first thing that hits is the atmosphere—dark corridors, empty classrooms, candle-lit investigations. The art direction makes every shadow feel alive, while the sound design sneaks in unease even when nothing’s happening. It’s not just cheap jump scares either; the tension comes from clever pacing and the slow unraveling of Yuuko’s past. If you’re expecting constant horror, you’ll get some, but the series thrives on mystery and the bittersweet bond between the leads.
The big strength is Yuuko herself. Instead of being a flat “tragic ghost girl,” she’s witty, playful, even seductive at times. That contrast makes her darker moments hit harder.…

This turned out to be a pretty good anime! While it starts out like a one-sided romance b/w a quintessential pretty boy & a ghost(yes,a ghost),it soon finds it’s own footing. I was not a fan of the fan service in the first few eps though. It didn’t add anything to the narrative and the anime is good enough to not rely on such devices. Back to the story: The plot involves an ep by ep ‘ghost mystery’ that is solved half-seriously by the characters. This is coz the centre of all these stories- Yuuko - is with them all the time. The mystery still exists only because Yuuko is unable to recall any of the mentioned legends. Our MC,Teichi,is a nice guy who is popular with the girls. Yuuko is head over heels for him and leaves no stone unturned to mark her territory. Their romance evolves very well…

Like the many students who cannot see the 👻, I couldn't "see it" until after ep9. Then it haunted me a little.
While the graphic for the show is mysterious, dark, and slightly creepy, the show opens with Okonogi Momoe, a cute and spunky teen anime chick documenting paranormal activity for the club of the same name. She's completely engrossed, but she can't even see the ghost! It's a running bit.
Our ML, Niiya Teiichi, is a doppelganger of the typical 💛Japanese-anime-purehearted-blushing-maiden-male-protagonist - it's a prototype. They invariably meet a hot siren who is sexualized, but innocent and available. The show follows the template and they use that for a lot of cheap titillation between him-and-ghost.

Beautiful story ruined by that well known "perverted humor" that japanese seem to like (I know its an ecchi, wish it wasn't).
A mix of horror, romance and comedy.
Horror wise, its not that hardcore its more of an unsettling feeling than raw visceral horror, which is fine, enough to point to a certain aesthetic that fits the show.
On the romance side of things, its a typical "love at first sight, but didnt realize at the time" nothing groundbreaking but not boring or too excessive, its cute.
The comedy, I despise ecchi, HAHA BIG TITS FUNNY, HAHA NO CLOTHES, honestly the only thing this does is ruin otherwise good shows.
In this case it feels out of place, you are getting emotionally involved with the show and the BOOM, JOKE, COMEDIC RELIEF, and not good jokes, its just horny garbage.

All i can say is that this anime is AMAZING, at the begging i only put it on to be background noise but instantly i got sucked into it and binged it in 2 days. The story and emotions are conveyed so well this is the first anime i have watched which has literally brought tears to my eyes especially in the last episode. Also got to mention the soundtrack was sooooo good and really helped set the tone for scenes
In my opinion this might just be the best Romance anime I have watched. Id recommend this if your a fan of the romance genre

Overall pretty meh anime for me. Feels a bit generous to give it a 7/10. Nothing really stood out and i was half bored at times. OP was good. But it ends there. Rest was very mediocre and standard and to me feels overrated on here.
To me there isnt much mystery and especially not much psychological in here. I feel this is much more school drama/romance focused. Especially the latter. Nothing with that but i guess as i was expecting something else as that genre rarely interests me much in anime as i feel its rarely executed well and neither is it this time. Didnt care much for the characters. The plot. I think this anime is more for people looking at the romance genre rather than mystery/psychological which was expectations i came in with why it ended up on liwer score and being somewhat…

Dusk maiden of amnesia is a very good series, that I firmly believe does what it wants to do and does so in a well executed manner.
I would say this series definitely isn't for most as people whom might enjoy it for the horror aspects will be disappointed until around episode 9 however I would say its still worth a watch I read the manga after watching this and think that the manga is vastly superior to the anime but the anime still holds up relatively well with there being a main plot point in the anime changed from the manga that's an important plot point but still feels significant in the anime despite having less impact.
I also think the series only really has character development significant for Teichii and Yuuko, and that the manga develops the other characters specifically Kirie an…

Tasogare Otome is a very memorable anime. You might even say this anime is closer to an art love letter than a serious, dramatic, oh-my-gosh-i-am-crying-its-so-tragic type of anime. Which sucks because so many people just rate any as good if there's a huge climax or traggic suffering story like Ghibilis Fireflies.
But that's not the case with Tasogore and why I decided to honor this anime with a solid 10. Why? Because it finishes what it aims to achieve. It has an interesting story, a plot that stretches until the final conclusion, and its all tied in wonderfully with beautiful art styles and sound.
Does it need to be a super complex show about each person undergoing a tragic backstory? No. It just needs to have a fun cast with chemistry. Tasogare gets an 8 for its story, but a 9 for it…

A sensational anime. With a dark footprint, this narrative of romance and mystery is truly extraordinary. In this anime we have Niiya Teiichi, a student who after meeting a ghost that has haunted his school for decades decides to open a paranormal investigation club to unravel the mysteries that surround the school and help Yuuko, the ghost, to recover her memories. I really love anime with a dark atmosphere. All the tension caused by the atmosphere and the soundtrack makes everything better. I really liked the anime - I don't know why, but I have a fascination with ghost novels -, the novel progresses a lot. It has tense moments, some really sad, but also beautiful and cute. The anime has been finished and I highly recommend it.

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia is one of those titles which goes through a real metamorphosis. The gulf of tonal difference between the first and last episodes made for it to almost feel as though they belonged to entirely separate anime. Yet, the continuity is strong and clearly delineated, and indeed both tones serve this show rather well actually. As a whole, it is a well-paced gem that manages to evoke a full range of human emotion, from horror to horny, comedy to creepy. Beyond this, it carries itself with a well-developed sense of anticipating the demands of the audience, which is impressive for any title. However, before I go any further, I have to start with the story. It begins with the simple yet compelling premise of a paranormal investigation club at a high school, whose president is h…

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia is a blended anime with bits of mystery, comedy, and romance. It starts when a boy named Teiichi Niiya decides to explore an old building in his school that is rumored to be haunted by a ghost. After meeting the ghost, who turns out to be a curvy, eccentric girl named Yuuko Kanoe, Teiichi decides to help her find out the truth about her death with the help of the Paranormal Investigation Club.
The anime does a good job of balancing the different genres, and the characters all compliment each other. The mystery of Yuuko's death is the main plot for the story, and it evolves as the show progresses. The comedy works as the club members play off each other with their character traits: eccentric and flirty ghost, annoyed and cowardly shrine maiden, impressionable and gu…

This is one of those shows that flew under the radar unless you saw it when it was released, or dug it out of a web search. Not only is this show underrated, it's apparently under-funded as the Manga never even got an English translation. The Manga covers so much more but this show out-preformed with the 12 episodes it got!
The word "Unique" would probably describe this show the best. An average boy one day meets a girl who turns out to be the ghost of the school. A relationship starts to brew and he is tasked with finding out her past as she does not remember how she died. Thriller, Drama, Horror, and Romance. The visualizations are totally different than any other anime out there. So many saturated colors, yet so dark. They put a lot of effort into conveying emotions or what the charact…

How beautiful a supernatural, heartwarming love story can get? Dusk Maiden of Amnesia is the answer.
If you are like me who loves stories where a guy falls in love with someone who is not just another person but something a lot more extraordinary then look no further as here the guy falls in love with a ghost and vice versa. The music, the soundtracks, the voice actors all have done a splendid job in creating this masterpiece. If you know SANKAREA or Undying Love as I love to say it then you can as well get what I am saying but this is a lot better. The Ghost girl of Yuko san is waifu material in its purest form; ghost or not, its impossible not to fall in love with her! And there's a lot of cuddling if you're into it. So, don't miss out on this masterpiece of a series. There's nothing qu…

Spoiler-free should-you-watch review:
The title of this series is, unquestionably, very cool. It's intriguing. I would even argue that the idea the anime is named after is also very cool. Dusk Maiden has some provocative and attractive imagery, and the atmosphere is pretty distinct, but it loves to ruin it with thoughtless use of what I'm going to call "anime nonsense" to rope in a more casual audience. I was initially inspired by some of its concepts, but ultimately Dusk Maiden durdles with them for 12 episodes to poor effect, telling a weak story amid a sea of potential. In much the same way that people can't see Yuuko the ghost, the creators of this anime seem to be totally blind to the compelling elements around them, satisfied with the staggering adequacy of their work. The overwhelm…

Tasogare Otome is a beautiful piece of work. It takes plenty of liberties in its plot (a nicer way to describe the use of plot conveniences), though most of the times, they're taken consciously. In other words, Tasogare Otome is abstract in nature; an impromptu. A story primarily focused on emotion(s), presented through scene direction and art that I can only describe as bewitching. It's an anime that can reach deep, and had the potential to reach even deeper, had it not wasted time playing around with some of its early and mid episodes. Having said that, Tasogare Otome remains passionate and even intimate at its core. Had it been handled more maturely, who knows what this anime could amount to.
First and foremost, visuals in this anime. Scene direc…
