Sakurako-san is a brilliant anime that would have excelled had it simply chosen what it wanted to be; a series of short one off mysteries set in the same town with re-occurring characters, or a dramatic clash between two intellects with a similar yet conflicting interest in bones.
Credit where it is due, the music is brilliant and kept me invested or built suspense where it was needed. Some of the visuals were brilliant if insanely underused (Sakurako surrounded by her walking bones blew me away every time, especially with the swell of music accompanying it.) The detail the bones was fantastic and I found myself almost being drawn into the subject in real life. There was clearly passion put into the visuals and the sound.
However it is let down by the story, which I enjoyed most of the tim…

TLDR: Recommended to fans of crime/forensic investigations/Sherlock (BBC)/Natsume Yuujinchou. Had potential to be a masterpiece, but I took 1 point off for 3 major unsolved plot points and nonconsensual relationships.
--
I wanted so bad for this anime to be a 10/10. It had all my favourite elements:
A strong and beautiful female protagonist, Sherlock vibes, crime/forensic drama, and the other main character resembling Natsume Takashi from Natsume Yuujinchou. Indeed, I found out about this anime while searching for more of Ishida Akira's voice acting work (he plays Natori in Natsume Yuujinchou).
Sakurako is so cool and attractive, and I wanna be as smart as her, though maybe not as weirdly passionate about morbidity. I felt the same way about Sherlock, so I was positive this anime would…

I thought this is an okay anime for binge watching then forgetting about it.
The main characters sometimes feel too fantastic and this is supposed to be based in reality setting. the way they get their cases is just too coincidental or just plain unbelievable.
The thing i didn't like about it is that it feels incomplete and unfinished like they built up the plot and the tension and then just finished the series.
I do like the fact that they are solving cases but most of the time i am wondering why people are even answering their questions and going along with the whims of a high school boy and a clearly unstable woman.
The art is good, i thought the music was a bit boring but the story tries to teach life lessons about human relations that i do find wholesome and i guess this is one of the…

To be honest, I certainly didn't expect something like this. When I read the description before I started, I thought the main character was just going to talk about bones or something. However, in fact, in each episode, the analysis of a corpse is told. Of course the episodes are more or less connected. I love the main character, she is smart and reminds me of sherlock holmes. She doesn't care much about corpses, so she doesn't seem very emotional. Our other main character is also as expected. Someone who is more emotional and tries to help the other character. If you want a long mystery show, I don't think you will find it because the explanations are fast. There isn't much time to think. I don't like waiting too long on these matters so it didn't bore me. If you've watched Sherlock Holme…

Mysteries. How does one solve a mystery? How does one know when a mystery has been solved? Mysteries aren’t new to storytelling – in fact, they’re quite old. Conan Arthur Doyle wrote short stories about our beloved Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, as they encountered odd mysteries that they had to solve. Detective isn’t a new genre to be exact and said genre has diverted into becoming lackluster and boring.
In some mediums, the said genre is one of the lowest denominators. For instance, someone who frequents book reading wouldn’t prefer detective over a fantasy story. Someone who has seen a lot of movies would find one about a detective rudimentary and boring. Detective is a genre that is being looked down upon. You can read classics, you can read short stories and then below them all is…

The best place to start my review is to point out the fact the ending left me majorly disappointment. More specifically, we got all of this build up and then got a rather lack luster ending which didn't connect with previous episodes like it did, but in the end - I felt the motivations of the two main characters rather lack luster.
Now, let's get back to the build up. I loved how until the final arc there were little things here and there which ended up picked up in the final mystery arc. Unfortunately, the ending left the ultimate villain feeling rather lack luster and while the point the series left off was definitely climatic for the two characters growth - let's just say it's not very climatic for a mystery series which set the bar rather high.
Not to mention - I found their relation…

The detective trope's been around within the anime community for a long time now. I'm not particularly into the "solving mysteries" stuffs. But sometimes it can be enjoyable, spending time to think about things instead of admiring how kawaii characters are. Or getting all horny from fan services.
Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru was... Something I didn't really gaze into like any other anime in my interest. Sure, I've checked it multiple times. But the anime just doesn't seem to be appealing to me at first. Hence I decided to place it at the back row of my plan to watch.
But then it happened again. The string of fate. Pulling random stuffs from the back to the front without my consent. As I was having fun playing my new Visual Novel I bought for hours, the anime sudde…

Beautiful Bones is a 2015 done by studio Troyca, of which I’m not very familiar with. This anime was based off of a series of novels. Is it worth it though? Let's find out.
Story:
Beautiful Bones doesn’t have an overarching plot, rather it’s comprised of episodic thriller scenarios in which our main lead Sakurako & her shall I say, lackey, Tatewak go around solving mysteries. Our main lead is very interested in Bones & uses her knowledge to help solve mysteries.
Ok, we’ve got ourselves a nice little set-up here. The problem is, the series doesn’t make any sort of effort to actually utilize its concept to create anything beyond basic. The series largely consists of “Sakurako goes around pulling the strings, while the others occasionally help out”. It’s not very interesting, as they basic…

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru
Beautiful Bones -Sakurako's Investigation is not youre typical mystery like detective conan or the perfect insider where people always find it that way it's more like a slice of life.
Sakurako is not a detective but she has skills (the reason why the cases are always solve really fast). This anime is pretty much talk about the daily lives of the two so it's a pretty good anime for me
because of it's art those colors was sure great and all but the story itself is really not that good because the pacing was really bad but if this anime episode numbers to 20 + I think it could be better the sound was okay not that bad and not that good eitheir the chracter is how do I say this "unlikely" chracters that are fond of bones are pretty rare so I'…

Sakurako-san is beautiful, Bone is beautiful.. The anime ending is beautiful.
So enchanting, mysterious and beautiful~
The anime and the beautiful Sakurako-san keep drawing me in... ... Even till the very end, it doesn't let me off the leash.
The ending is a new beginning.
Everything is still going on...
around us,
everyday. Don't stop looking, don't stop thinking. Don't stop seeking for the truths.
While doing that, don't forget that someone out there is looking at you too.
This is what I learnt from this anime XD Omoshiroii, Interesting. Bravo.
People recommended Hyouka and GoSick for people who likes this anime. I've watched these two before this anime, and finds this anime closer to heart.
I give this anime a 9.
Nande?
I like the main character, Sakurako-san, obviously. The gra…

“Beautiful Bones” or “A Corpse is Buried Under Sakurako’s Feet” is a detective show styled directly upon the classic Sherlock Holmes novels, or at the very least, uses the general setup of Holmes to tell various stories about human mortality, and the various philosophical and moral issues that lie therein.
The character archetypes should be familiar. Sakurako-san is an eccentric, antisocial rich lady who spends her time studying bones because it is her passion. She is very intelligent, but often comes across as rude because of her honest and analytical nature. Shoutarou, presented as our protagonist, is the foil- a quiet, observative, and domestic high school boy who makes up for his lack of studied intelligence with warm kindness and keen eyes. A typical Sherlock and Watson, though Shout…

*This is my first review.
In this review, I will go through each core element and give my thoughts as to why you should consider watching this anime. Before I get to that, I would like to say that I describe this anime as "A crime drama with a lot less unnecessary drama, leading to a more interesting show". If you happen to find yourself liking shows pertaining to crime, and are intrigued by things of the dead sort and their stories, this show is for you.
Story: 9/10
The basic storyline of this anime is simple and very easy to follow. A girl who loves bones, along with her assistant solve puzzling mysteries together. It is from this main storyline that lots of interesting scenarios are created. The pacing is not too fast and not too slow; each story has their own episode, with some longe…

The first thing I want to say is that it's too short. For an anime premise that involves a whodunnit, most of the crimes are solved within 1 episode.
I stumbled upon this anime by accident, and being a fan of the CSI franchise, I was welcoming of such an anime. But boy was I wrong. The relative ease that the mysteries during the series get solved turned me off. The main character, like most main characters in anime is overpowered - she's basically a genius when it comes to solving mysteries. As a viewer, I am not taken on a journey or even allowed to come up with my own hypothesis for who may have committed the crime, why or how they might have committed said crime; I've got to take Sakurako's hypothesis to be 100% accurate, and thanks to her being the love child of Sherlock Holmes and Pa…

Story 8 - It's interesting the theme, but it's not much worked. A woman who loves bones but, is very forced the characteristic of the protagonist in solving crimes. Why? Does not she love bones? Why turn her into a police officer?
Between comings and goings, the story is somewhat random, but it is interesting.
Art 10 - I liked the traits. The environment is cool and catches my eye. Nothing to complain about.
Sound 9 - I liked the sound. Ost is cool and catches my eye. Nothing to complain about.
NOTE: The opening is very good.
Character 7 - Is the protagonist a normal student who does not react when he sees dead people? Sakurako-san looks like a killer psycho. No?
They are two characters that could be better developed. They have unique characteristics but very forced ones. There is no h…

If you're going to watch this series, do it for the mysteries, not the plot.
You know those kind of series that are always episodic and every now and then it gives you a hint that somehow it really has a background story (to never really unravel it)? This is one of those. The basis for everything is Sakurako and her love for bones, being an osteologist. She and Shoutarou are friends(?) and like to unearth bones to add them to Sakurako's large skeletal collection. Oh, and they solve mysteries regarding those bones as well.
I'm having a tough time trying to write about how does the mystery come to the pair and what makes them solve it. In many other detectivesque anime the justification is: the MC's a detective, they maybe like the whole mystery stuff or they've /just/ got to solve mysteri…

The first impression of Sakurako-san is that it gives off the feeling of a show that is purely focused on the mystery genre. In that respect, it reminds many people of how Hyouka was, minus the school life part of it. And yet, comparing Sakurako-san to Hyouka doesn't really do either of the shows justice. Hyouka integrates daily life into its mystery aspects, while one of the main plot points for Sakurako-san is the separation between everyday life and the mystery of the dead.
Story: 9/10
The episodic format of Sakurako-san does throw some people off a bit. The uneven pacing between each of the episodes is influenced by the fact that each episode focuses on a different case and a different body, with the exception of the three two-episode cases. Some of the cases are chilling, incorporati…

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru is a firmly middle-of-the-road series with a handful of modest strengths and a fair selection of minor flaws. I enjoyed the show overall, though perhaps to the bare minimum extent to justify watching it again. It often feels as though several steps were skipped in the creation of this show, or that a number of details should have been questioned by somebody along the way and never got cut. I find most grating the fact that Sakurako is not an actual detective, even though it would have cost nothing to make her one from the outset and this single detail makes the entire series a mere cavalcade of conveniences. The series revolves around her and Shoutarou finding corpses, solving mysteries, and showing up the local police like any good Holmes…

The closest I have ever been to death is a moment that I don’t even remember.
Complications during childbirth are common. For me, at the (very) tender age of ten seconds old, there were two such complications: the umbilical cord and my size. The cord just so happened to wrap itself around my throat, cutting off oxygen to my body. As for my size, I was so huge (ten pounds, eight ounces) that I got stuck in the birthing canal.
The doctors, desperate to save both my mom and me, made the decision to add a third complication: bone breakage. To get me out in the world, they snapped my collar bone, stopping death and granting life. They got the umbilical cord situation sorted out, too, but, by that point, I looked like…

Have to admit, the story came much later but I believe that the creators were trying to achieve this "mysterious storyline"effect which can only be revealed at the end....and which cannot be done within 12 episodes....sad to say but that is the only thing that ruined the potential of the anime.
Let's see, I love the art. I just don't get why they stopped the animation for her when she puts on the gloves after half of the anime...
The opening theme is perfect, with Ulna and Radius and that kid's skull....but we never found out who that kid is......<--creators y'all have a problem...
Many things said by Sakurako is so true and relatable, I might just start to study bone if I want to learn the truth....
I enjoyed the small horrors in the music. But that moment when they finally, specificall…

Where do I start. I guess I'll just state what I liked and felt about this anime, I'll try not to include spoilers as much as possible.
I always have this thing about light mystery because I'm not fond of overly serious mystery genre and Sakurako-san really hit that spot of me. Rather than mystery oriented, Sakurako-san is like slice of life with drama and little twists of light mystery.
Having this cliche high-school themed filled with force romance and fanservice anime over here and there, this anime is a breather for me and I always have this smile whenever I watch each of episode of this but don't get me wrong, Sakurako-san get's serious when it needs to be. The story is actually good and the pacing is also good. I know I'll raise some eyebrows because a lot of review said that it's…
