Fate/Zero Season 2

Fate/Zero Season 2

Introduction

As the Fourth Holy Grail War rages on with no clear victor in sight, the remaining Servants and their Masters are called upon by Church supervisor Risei Kotomine, in order to band together and confront an impending threat that could unravel the Grail War and bring about the destruction of Fuyuki City. The uneasy truce soon collapses as Masters demonstrate that they will do anything in their power, no matter how despicable, to win. Seeds of doubt are sown between Kiritsugu Emiya and Saber, his Servant, as their conflicting ideologies on heroism and chivalry clash. Meanwhile, an ominous bond forms between Kirei Kotomine, who still seeks to find his purpose in life, and one of the remaining Servants. As the countdown to the end of the war reaches zero, the cost of winning begins to blur the line between victory and defeat. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

For me, Fate/Zero is the best Fate series ever made and the best starting point for newcomers. It's one of my favorite anime of all time. As someone who has watched every Fate anime, read The Garden of Sinners and Tsukihime, and played Fate/Grand Order, I always recommend starting with Fate/Zero. It has an incredible story, memorable characters, fantastic dialogue, beautiful animation, and an outstanding soundtrack. Even though it's over a decade old, it still looks better than many modern anime. The series balances intense action with meaningful character development and thought-provoking themes, making it engaging from beginning to end without relying on unnecessary fanservice or filler.

Fate/Zero is definitely one of the closest shows to a 10/10 rating I've ever seen. I only have a couple of notes but nothing significant. It would obviously be nice to just say "make the show twice as long and develop all the characters more" but with the 25 episodes Fate/Zero has, I don't think it could be much better. The animation, the soundtrack, the characters, the dialogue, all of it is basically flawless. My only real nitpick is an episode in the 1st season which does not really connect to the main plot much and focuses on Rin who's a really minor character and is only important in the story which Fate/Zero is a prequel to. By no means will this appear to everyone and even I'm not ALWAYS in the mood for this show. It's very dialogue-heavy, extremely sadistically tragic and over…

I genuinely loved Fate/Zero. It’s one of those works that remind me why I watch anime in the first place. I enjoyed how it’s seinen, complex, and dark without falling into cheap edginess, which is a common issue in many similar series. As a history fan, it was also exciting to see Alexander the Great, Gilgamesh, and King Arthur interact. Let’s begin. 1. Narrative (30%) The script is very well written. The story unfolds through multiple perspectives without losing coherence, and the first season is dedicated to building up everything that will explode later. Personally, I think the first part could’ve been slightly more dynamic, but after the episode “Banquet of Kings”, the series shines at full strength. I loved how it handles different moral perspectives without slowing down the pacin…

People don’t talk enough about how brilliantly written Fate/Zero truly is as a standalone story. Setting aside its countless sequels and the expansion of the universe, from a singular perspective it stands as an exceptional piece of storytelling that creates countless butterfly effects and serves as the beginning that shapes every end. Every character in the narrative is valued on a grand scale, with intricate details carried throughout the journey, all brought to life with top-tier animation in the 2012 TV series as a true testament to ufotable’s immense talent as a studio. Moral messages that emerge from each character’s demise and backstory are orchestrated like instruments in a grand symphony, culminating in a conclusion so well-crafted that it feels cinematic rather than just a televi…

This is a spoiler-free review covering both Season 1 and Season 2. The anime's story beginning (first episode/narrative introduction) is poorly executed, filled with terrible pacing and an overwhelming amount of information, paired with a pretentious philosophical tone that’s entirely unfit for any opening. This issue is evident throughout the entire anime but becomes glaringly obvious in the beginning and culminates in an ending that’s a "crown of crap," perfectly matching the low standards set by what preceded it. The dialogues are weak. Their superficial complexity shouldn’t deceive anyone—they’re shallow at their core. Most characters’ motivations and beliefs are idiotic and unstable. A single basic conversation with another character leaves them stunned and persuaded. Add to this th…

[Review for the entirety of Fate/Zero] "And then… So fervently that, even on the brink of death, I was jealous. He said, 'Thank you.' That he was glad he’d found someone. That by saving one person, he had saved himself." Idealism stripped down to its infantile dispositions—a utilitarian mindset of sacrificing the few for the greater good of many—collides with the reality of its emotionally stunted practitioner. A man embarks on a hopeless quest for a miracle that can validate his exhaustive efforts to reconcile with his grief—a child thrust into a world hostile to his empathy. A priest's bubbling psychopathy bursts forth as unchecked hedonism stains the land. Parental negligence ignites unseen repercussions, while nameless children become mere instruments in a ploy. The inorganic object…

Before Demon Slayer there was Fate UBW but, before UBW, Ufotable had Fate Zero. Even till now, I don’t think this anime has aged a day. It reminded me of how back then when it came out I was like “If animation looks this phenomenal now, I can’t imagine how it would look like in a decade” Little did I know that just so little would have changed by then. Not to put anything down but, I’d argue that this looks way better than 95% of anime these days. Enough of how it looks though but if I dwell too deep into this anime I’m afraid I’d write over 10 paragraphs and I’d rather not. All I’m going to say is that this is truly the “Ufotable” experience, you can’t get better than this. Love Demon Slayer and UBW but when it comes to plot, animation and the soundtrack…..oof the soundtrack. I’d say tho…

Re-watching this in 2024 really hits differently... god it's still one of my absolute favourites. Obviously, the animation is noticeably older especially compared to Ufotable's more recent works. But that is one of its few (or even only) weaknesses. The premise is interesting, the plot captivating, the characters round as a silicon-28 crystal ball, and so much more. The premise is essentially a death game or battle royale of sorts where 7 mages with their summoned spirit (known as Servants) fight for an omnipotent wish-granting relic, the Holy Grail. The first few episodes beautifully set this up. The situation is clearly explained and the stakes for each character is properly explored. The plot is really well written, the foreshadowing is included nicely, and the pacing is magnificent…

Not only does this prequel anime serve as an equally solid starting point in the overall Fate series (in which mages battle each other to the death while teaming up with spirits of legendary heroes in order to win a wish), it actually surpasses the original show, Fate/Stay Night, in almost every respect. Studio Ufotable (the same animation studio behind Demon Slayer, whuch I still won’t shut up about) delivers some of their best work with stunning action choreography and jaw-droppingly gorgeous animation in each mind-blowing battle. The story is far darker than the original’s too: along with the villains, most of the “good” guys ditch their moral compasses in an effort to attain victory. Yet even so, they’re just so damn compelling – and badass – that you can’t stop watching. It’s one of t…

I gave it a 6 for the second season because the art style is gorgeous, the animation is top-tier, and the soundtrack is amazing; otherwise, it would be a 4 or a 3. I gave it a 9 for the first season, so what went wrong? Simple: 0 levels of satisfaction regarding all storytelling decisions. I will not give any spoilers, but I will make some analogies for you to understand what I meant. And YES, I KNOW Fate/Zero is a prequel to many of the Fate series branches (Such as all the Stay Night what-if stories). But every anime has to provide you with some level of satisfaction without the need to start a new anime (The story of Fate Zero is actually finished in the Fate Stay Night series). This one left me with bad taste. Story: They messed up. Everything detailed, built, and explained will expl…

Well, well, well. I must say, this anime is quite the spectacle. The story is complex and intricate, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. The style is dark and moody, which really sets the tone for the show. And let's not forget about the main characters - they're all so fascinating and well-developed, it's hard not to get invested in their journeys. But what really sets Fate/Zero 2nd season apart is the music. I mean, wow. The score is simply breathtaking, and it really elevates the emotional impact of each scene. It's hard not to get goosebumps when you hear those strings swell during a particularly intense moment. Overall, I have to say that my enjoyment experience of 2nd season was top notch. It's not often that I find myself completely engrossed in a…

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the second season of Fate/Zero and I must say that it did not disappoint. The story picks up right where the first season left off and dives even deeper into the complicated relationships between the Masters and their Servants. The animation is stunning for it's time and the action scenes are some of the best I've ever seen, creating an unforgettable experience. The soundtrack (which is something I usually don't care about) was also pretty nice. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of the OP, I can't be taken seriously on that as the only OPs I really like are ones that sound like JoJos. Also, I'll address this here as I don't know where else to. Yes, there is a conflict about the order to watch the Fate series in. No, I will not tell you what ord…

Loved Fate zero, even though it's a prequal the great backstory of what happened before the 5th war this war has you following characters you come to really respect and feel for after knowing their backgrounds and motives. In terms of prequals this one does it near perfectly with action that exceeds expectations and plot from different parties that keeps you very interested. As the second season which wraps it up it does have a decently satisfying conclusion though not a happy one as well it's fate and that's to be expected but leaves you feeling very satisfied with the ending.

Fate/Zero 2nd Season is a little bit better than Fate/Zero Story 9/10 The story continuous from the last season. The fourth holy grail war is in it's climax only a few master and servants are left this season has more fights than the prior season but the ending is some what confusing. Art 10/10 The animation is still as amazing maybe ever better than last season. Sound 8/10 The music is still works great for the show like last season as well. Character 8/10 The characters in season two dies in alot brutal ways and sometimes it gets annoying. Enjoyment 10/10 I enjoyed this season a bit more than the last season. Overall Overall still better than fate/stay night.

(Spoilers Alert) It's a war between 7 mages aided with 7 servants who will be summoned from past, present or future, to fight for the Grail that can grant any wish. It offers some amazing battles to look forward on but what makes Fate/Zero great, is because of interesting philosophical debates it rises with it's dialogue between the characters. While there are changes mid way through, initially, it begins like this. 1. Saber & Kiritsugu Emiya (Irisveil) 2. Archer & Tokiomi Tohsaka 3. Rider & Waver Velvet 4. Lancer & Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi (Sola-Ui) 5. Caster & Ryuunosuke Uryuu 6. Assassin & Kirei Kotomine 7. Berserker & Kiriya Matou Firstly, let's talk about the least interesting ones. - Caster & Ryuunosuke are like partners in crime. Both are insane & they find fun in killing innoc…

I got acquainted with this work by chance and I can say that this anime struck me. Almost everything is perfect in it, let's start in order. 1. Animation and Art I think my words will be superfluous here, Ufotable did their job just great, the tension during the fights, their beauty and the quality of the drawing and animation are at the highest level. Unlike the same Vanpanchmen, there are experiences in the battles of Fate, and not just good animation 2. History The story is narrated on behalf of several characters at once, the concept of the story is very interesting: the war of magicians, each of whom has a servant of a certain class for an object that fulfills any desires. If you go deeper, the attentive viewer will immediately understand the philosophy of this anime and its drama.…

FATE ZERO BBY, Fate is my favorite anime series. I love is so much for the characters, the deep story, the animation, the music just everything is perfect in my eyes. Now Fate Zero (this is a review for Fate Zero as a whole) has the deepest story out of the 4 main fates, Fate Zero is also the darkest or second darkest its debatable but one thing thats hard with Fate Zero the story will be confusing on first viewing, Fate Zero really feels like a series that has to be watched a second time to fully understand it but other series are like this as well. First we start with the characters of the story and trust me there is a lot, from Kiritsugu and Saber to Alexander and Waver to Kirei. Basically all the characters have a deep plot and goal in mind that slowly gets unwrapped as you watch A…

Very few anime's affected me in the way this did. It shows, like only a few animations have that there is a poetry, in the quest for perfection in any story. This is one of those times that my grail wish has been granted by the subtilty of the weaving of the impact of the events that happened in the show, with the interpretations it puts forth in efforts to make a deep message that there is this subtilty, this unknowable mystery that no man can answer but only take the most intelligent morale stance, that they can live with or die trying. The main characters are amazing, and filled with doubts but also reluctant to show it. Sound is great, but the intro song could be a little better, as well as just a little improvement in the whole sound experience overall, although the actual sound eff…

Dad, what do you want to be when you grow up? -When I grow up, I want to be a hero of justice... Fate/Zero is a series that, like 60% of the people who started watching it, was out of curiosity, they didn't know anything when they started watching it, and if you're going to watch it, it's better that you don't find out anything before watching it. To assess this series I will use the typical method of scoring the characteristics of the series. But before valuing it like that, I'm just going to say that this IS THE BEST SHIT I'VE SEEN IN MY LIFE. Story: 10/10 Simple, a war between 7 wizards for the holy grail, a vessel that grants you and your servant one wish. Characters: 10/10 Possibly this is the brightest thing about Zero. All the characters have their development, their history (s…

Ufff I just finished this season and by God I already liked the first one but this second season is magnificent. The best of all is that it leaves the seed for what is coming now. It reminds me a lot of gundam how well written the characters and dialogues are. Even the most trivial dialogue ends up having importance and I love that. The animation is excellent, the soundtrack is key at the time it has to be. The character development here is great, it's how it deepens even more with the motivations of each character and how they finish the story, it's a very good anime, I highly recommend it. En español: Ufff acabo recien de terminar esta temporada y por dios la primera temporada ya me habia gustado pero esta segunda temporada es magnifico.
