Since Season 2 is able to focus more on the inner lore of "Fruits Basket" I can definitely say it is so much better than Season 1! Unlike the first season, each episode does not feel like a filler episode and it each plays a part in explaining the mysteries of the plot. It was also great to see amazing character and relationship developments.
After the last episode, I can Season 3 is going to be more intense! A lot of questions were answered, including one that I thought was quite obvious already (I wish they did it better.) I can't wait to see how it all plays out!

Excruciatingly slow. Very repetitive. Almost nothing happens until the end of the season, and even then it's just frustrating rather than compelling.
This felt like twenty-five episodes of filler and trauma dumping and internal monologuing with zero communication between a side cast we didn't know or care about in the first season. I actually enjoyed the first season, but this one was so painful to get through that I definitely won't be continuing the story. And it gives you no incentive to want to.
I wish some anime didn't try so hard to force you to feel a certain way about characters. It almost never works and just makes me dislike them more. Tohru is a sweetheart and I'll always love her, but most of the side cast (with a few exceptions) felt like they were fighting each other in a…

Honestly, I really liked this season. It had a great exploration of back stories, shows the different and realistic reactions to trauma, and had a fantastic plot twist. It also managed to get fun, despite all the heavy topics.
Of course, some people called this a filler season, and I can sort of understand why. Most anime tend to have filler episodes, so to speak. You have the hot springs episode, the beach episode, the festival episode, the summer vacation to a secluded house episode, the school trip, the school play, etc. This season had all of those episodes. So I can see why people viewed this entire season as filler. Though even with those episodes, the plot was still moving, and as I said before, we got a massive plot reveal about the curse.
This season also explored heartbreaking…

Spoiler-less, TL;DR, fast, simple, and easy-to-digest review:
Summer-y, Delightful, Family
8/10
Animation? Good (++)
Same as the previous season. It is good but not the best.
Characters? Ok (+) Great range of characters... except for one. I detest that character the most!
Story? Good (++)
A worthy sequel but not better than the previous season. There are some filler moments and hate-able moments that you want to reach the screen and scream at them, but still good.
Pacing? Ok (+)
Bearable mostly. Slow burn as always... but this time, the payoff is way less than expected. Need to watch the next season to fulfill that itch.
OST? Excellent (+++)
Ah, the same as the previous one. A great encore to the original ones!
Enjoyability? Ok (+)
While some viewers may not enjoy some episodes, at…

this is one of the best tv shows i have aver watched and that i will ever watch the artistic talent and creative skill it took to create something so amazing is practically impossible it was a one in a thousand chance that a franchise so constantly good exists. each character is written with a mastery of writing skill making them all entertaining and memorable. the story is the most beautiful heartfelt romance all anime fans are looking for in the sea of shit that is the seasonal releases now beautifully built and crafted so that nothing is given to you and at the same time everything is given to you which is kept up across 63 episodes 1 films and 23 volumes. in conclusion Fruits Basket 2nd Season is a high 10/10.

Fruits Basket - Season 2
A story that I initially thought was a simple tearjerker with no grounding proves to be a quality tearjerker that knows exactly what it's going for.
Despite its appearance, Fruit Basket is a series for a slightly older audience, since it appeals to a lot of adults and has more somber themes. And also revolves greatly around the sex lives of some of the characters.
Anyway, the second season picks up where the first left off. There are new everyday episodes, and new small events and you see more and more interference from Akito. What impresses me the most here again are the character's backgrounds and their problems. Very rarely does an anime/manga manage to address these stories properly without making it seem like melodramatic theater, and yet they've done it…

I'll preface by saying I've seen all 4 seasons of Fruits Basket from 2001 to 2019. Fruits Basket is the greatest shoujo anime show ever made. Season 2 specifically may be the perfect balance between light-hearted comedy, emotional growth, and high-stakes drama. The revelations mid-way through the season when the cast is on a summer vacation are phenomenal, and one of the high points of the entire show. This show balances comedy, seriousness, and heartmelting drama in a way like no other. Anime fans and non-anime fans alike should give the entirety of Fruits Basket a watch.
It caps high-stakes drama, and captures such a wide array of human emotion so perfectly. Fruits Basket starts out slow, with a massive ensemble cast that takes about a season to fully introduce, but after that, the show…

People will hate me for this, I'm sure, but I found the over-arcing lack of complete development of in Tohru as a protagonist so utterly frustrating that it ruined much the second half of the season. The real problem lies in this fact. There's no definite acceptance that some people just can't be changed, even after she's treated in so many abusive ways, allowing it to keep happening over and over. She's a people pleaser to boot, right until the literal end. There are fantasy parts around her that impact her emotionally all show long, but she never changes her naievte of the world. This season left a lot of dread in my mouth for season 3.

Honestly, I don't understand the hype surrounding this series. This continues season one, showing Tohru's journey with the Sohmas as we learn more about the various Zodiacs and the family dynamics at play also known as a whole load of domestic abuse and trauma piled up on top of each other. This just wasn't really my thing - because of the nature of the abuse they all suffer being linked to the 'curse' and basically Akito and their parents, a lot of the backstories for the different zodiac characters were very similar, which made watching this feel so slow and kind of boring.
Tohru as well just feels kind of like a blank canvas character who is just so nice and kind, and yet also doesn't really have much of a personality - she's more there to help them through their trauma and provide a p…

Fruits Basket Season Two can brag itself to be one of the worst anime I have ever seen, which is not a small thing. In direct comparison, the first season, which I thought comfortably average, seems almost like a masterpiece - there is an actual plot, and actual characters, and actual investment you get from watching the first season play out.
Alas; Season Two decided to take a step away from all that ‘actual plot that makes me want to watch more’ and instead takes us on a metaphorical twenty-something-episode school trip through absolutely unnecessary points of… of something I can’t quite call plot, because it ultimately added so little to the overall Fruits Basket experience, that I couldn't help feeling tricked.
Mind you, I watched every episode of it, and I, generally speaking, reme…

This season was my favorite of the three. I love that most of the secondary characters got their background explained. Most anime's don't really go through the life of the side characters, so it made me happy that they did that with Fruits Basket. The story is incredible, as per usual, and this season managed to make me even more teary-eyed and emotionally invested in the show. I finished this season so quickly because I couldn't take a break; after each episode I felt like I had to keep watching. It was that good. I will forever love episode 19 and it is my go to episode for when I need something sad (slight warning LOL). This season was fantastic though, and I highly recommend watching it.

Haiku review:
First season is good
Second, superfluous pad
Third, a masterpiece
This review covers the entire “Fruits Basket” remake.
As most of us know, there was an excellent and widely loved “Fruits Basket” series that appeared in 2001. Its lone real shortcoming was that it appeared before the manga was complete, so it couldn’t reveal how everything turns out. The story was the kind of shojo that appeals to a much wider audience. The characters were compelling, the plot moved forward at the right speed, and even though it was incomplete it led to a satisfactory ending.
The original series did not, apparently, find favor with Takaya Natsuki, author of the original manga, who was in some measure involved in the three-season remake that’s the subject of this review. The chief production…

I have so many feeelings for thisseries after finished watching 2 seasons. But shortly i am dissapointed and didnt like this series. I hate tohru bc obviously i shipped her w yuki and i freakingly hate kyo bc kyo always thought that he was the saddest person and the most unfortunate within the zodiac family. But he has master as a father, he got to be friend with haru, rin and kagura in his childhood. He got kagura to loves her and reach her when he was younger. But yuki on the other side, he had nothing. His parent sold him to akito. His brother doesn't care about him. Haru and kyo hate him, he doesn't have childhood friend. Even tohru had a lot of screentime w kyo rather than w yuki even it was yuki who invited tohru to his house. So why i hate tohru simply because she is a nice girl. An…

**Spoilers Ahead**
The second season was definitely more refined than the first, especially when it came to the characters' development and their relationship to each other. Thankfully, the characters no longer depending on cliché speeches by the main character to improve, but rather listening to their own voice. The MC still made little progress but, at least, it was more noticeable than the 1st season.
There was an evident improvement in the soundtrack, the music was more memorable and it heightened the emotions conveyed by the characters.
My favorite characters this season have to be Kureno, Rin and Haru. Haru's development and his relationship with Rin were very engaging. I liked how his plot didn't revolve around Yuki anymore. We got to know him more deeply through Rin's admiring ey…

A very nice continuation to Season 1. It basically stays true to the manga and presents a much clearer breakdown of the story than the original. One of my big gripes with the original was that it didn't really explore Yuki's relationship with Machi and his development there which this series is more true to.
My only critique would be that the pacing at times felt a little slow. Fruits Basket is in fact an emotionally complex and thought provoking manga so dialogue will make up a key aspect but at times it felt like they were including too much when it could have been shortened to hold interest better.
I see some comments about pedophilia and outdated attitudes to women etc. which I find a little strange. The Souma family and Akito in particular is pretty messed up, that's the actual po…

Now, this is where things get to become a bit darker, while the romance between many characters is beginning to be more noticeable.
While retaining its charm from the first season, the second season of Fruits Basket is where many parts of the story are finally being revealed. The last of the main characters are introduced, and many characters that appeared in this season start to go through the character development they deserved.
The story, same as usual; however, the concept of the Sohma zodiac has been expanded on, revealing a bit of darkness that could easily be seen in many scenes throughout this season, setting the tone for what's will happen next while starting to reach its peak for the story. A recurring theme for most of the cast is that they didn't have good relationships with…

I really loved the first season of Fruits Basket, so of course I was excited for this. But I was so dissapointed!
Here are some reasons why I was dissapointed.
There was no overall plot of the story, it was all so random and didn't really focus on Tohru.
Yuki’s backstory was all over the place and when they did focus on him it was mostly of him doing things with the student council.
There was just way too much filler. The incest and pedophilia was very off putting and thrown in our face more.
They barely focused on Tohru or Kyo.
Rin was unnecessarily thrown into the story, but I did enoy her overall.
I couldn't understand why Kureno was still with Akito even though their bond was broken. It was also infuriating that he was okay with her terribly manipulative and abusive behavior…

Fruits Basket the 2nd season really saved the series for me. I know a lot of people loved it from the beginning, but the first season was just decent to me. I watched it in my free time, and eventually stopped because I did not see it going anywhere. However, I stopped right before the second season. That in itself was a mistake because this season redeemed it for me.
This season we got to delve more deeply into the romance, the complexities of the relationships between characters. We got to see more character development and what was really going on in the Soma family. Specifically, Kyo's and Yuki's backstories had me insanely captivated and I finished this season in less than 3 days because I was so interested.
I originally dropped it because I thought it was just going to be a light…

I am giving this show a 10, this review is supposedly just the second season but I want to speak on the show entirely. I first saw this show pop up on Crunchyroll when it was first released on Crunchyroll, however i thought it was dumb, because I was never into Slice of life/romantic shows back than. But when I decided to give this a try because I had nothing else to do, I did not regret it one bit. It is the type of show where there is not so much conflict as such on a bigger scale, instead it affects the immediate/branch Soma families, between Akito, and the Zodiacs. But Tohru the main Character, was so well done. I like the whole idea behind the amount of suffering she herself goes through, maybe not as much as Kyo or Yuki, but she is the type of character who does not want to put a bur…

Fruits Basket is a story that really sticks with you.
It is unassuming at first, with a cast of seemingly shallow stereotypes of the Shoujo genre. The ditsy female protagonist, the delinquent with a heart of gold, the charming prince... But as you dig deeper you soon come to find that these aren't just one-note drawings on a screen but well fleshed out characters with goals and fears and everything in between. They're human. They contradict themselves. They do bad things. They make up for them in a way that only they know how. It doesn't make them less likable but rather endears them to us.
The second season takes what the second half of the first season had and doubles down on the emotional impact and development and creates a truly compelling story that left me in tears more than a fe…
