Yona of the Dawn is just, good. It isn't necessarily trying anything new with the music, or new with the animation but the story and characters just feel kind of alive and nuanced in a way that so many other anime fail to do. The main characters are just well written, complicated, and grow as people. The main female character is particularly nuanced and human especially given the sad state that most female protagonists have to deal with. The story isn't particularly revolutionary, but it's still engaging, the villain is multisided and has complicated motivations that make it hard to hate him and see him foiled but at the same time knowing that they are at direct odds with our protagonists.
Good watch. Sucks that it isn't finished.
7/10 it was good ദ്ദി´ ˘ `)

Meaningful change requires immense courage. Yona of the Dawn explores self-discovery through the lens of a naive princess alienated from her former life and thrown headfirst into hardship. Her ignorant perspective shifts into genuine understanding through united companionship, overcoming obstacles, and witnessing injustices that are not her own. Weakness inspires her determined leadership and empowered actions. In this regard, the author excels in writing compelling themes and character dialogue that does not shy away from heavy concepts. However, this narrative would benefit from less frequent reverse harem tropes, character archetype cliches, and tension-breaking humor. Nonetheless, with expectations in check, this is an enjoyable fantasy adventure.

So, idk if it's because im getting old (i'm 20 now), but i'm not sure if i like it that much. guess there's too much cliche on it
I thought it was gonna be something like omg the princess had such a development as a character and improved so much (that's what they told me). but i was expecting more, idk
Yes she was doing an efforce and all, and i guess she actually improved at some points, but what kept boring me is that the show was looking kinda silly and it could be due to the cliche trope of the characters. honestly i've only finished it because of Hak (he was perfect). I guess his dynamic with yona was good
But i didnt' like the others on the group (maybe only the little one who did the medicines, he was nice). Idk, i guess a lot of the characters were looking silly when it was supp…

I can imagine why this story made waves when it released.
“Akatsuki no Yona”, is the kind of anime which is legitimately on the verge of being just okay, and amazingly good. You've got great characters, with amazing personalities. A fresh villain which doesn't do things by the brutal, the obvious, the horrible. He manipulates with love, with giving to the people, with kickstarting economies, and actually is trying to make the surroundings a better place.
It is that, though, a revenge story. About taking back what belongs to the heroes, but with the world around in mind. It's about a little princess, Yona. A spoiled, kind-hearted girl who on the very first episode gets everything taken away from her by somebody she loved. We've seen that many times, it's the quintessential vengeance, bu…

My favourite anime of all time. Most others really don't even come close to how great this is. The best character development ever. I didn't like Yona and then I loved Yona. She very realistically grew from a child to a fierce woman. The way the friendships formed as well was so believable and beautiful. I strongly recommend this.
I think about these characters all the time. The main couple was very swoon-worthy. The art is not as polished as some but I love the design and costumes.
I found the story very original. Its a beautiful and exciting adventure. Each arc is addictive. I wish so badly there were more seasons!

I felt in love with the series.
Yona development is amazing and is incredible how the series know how to dothe same with the others main charactera. All the dragons are pretty cool and unique, as the introduce of them was made with perfection.
They are likable and the misterious about Soowon and his real intentions makes you addicted.
About the romance subject is pretty well done, since the feelins about Soowon and Hak and if Yona will surpass her first love is the main dish. I can tell even without any manga spoiler this will remain as the biggest confusion in Yona's mind.
Im kinda sad about the fact Yona just have one season.
In my conclusion, if you are looking a great storyline, amazing characters, an astonishing main character and good romance, you probably should watch the anim…

Just finished watching the last episode and i'm not quite sure whether to sob or scream into my pillow to let all my current emotions out ??! First of all it's a CRIME that there's only ONE SEASON ??? i'm not done here yet omg. Personally i really enjoyed watching Yona of the Dawn, it's such a beautiful anime, the storyline is great and the banter !! the banter between the characters really did it for me. A good balance between sadness and wittyness throughout the story. Yona's character development was sad but pretty cool to see, to see her blossom into this strong woman that she is now. Even with all of the sadness, sorrow and grief she's carrying inside, it's beautiful to see that her will is stronger and that that is what keeps her moving forward. Her strong will to keep living for her…

This anime does lots of things very well, but comes up short and hard in other ways. While I like and would recommend it, it dawns on me a lot of people are going to see the holes in it, and despise it for them.
I found the art work pleasing, and it was above average quality throughout the series. Nice background work. I found the animation was a very mixed bag. The first cour was acceptible enough, but the quality really started to slide toward the end. The last 4 episodes were a little grating with too many stills and panning during the big battle scene. Apparently someone slashed the budget before the title ended.
The character designs ran the gamut from very well done to pukey. Way too much chibi shit, and it wasn't funny, just irritating. Where there was some saving grace, was in t…

This series is so fucking bad.
So the first episodes are actually intersting but then Yona's first lover who is supposedly human proceeds to beat up tens of people by himself, then they fall from a CLIFF and escape without a single major injury :). After that they meet the only character in the world that can guide them immediately so they begin their search for dragon boys. The formula is: Find dragon boy, dragon boy initially doesn't like Yona, something happens, dragon boy falls for Yona and joins the party. Author repeats this for 3 times and at the end when 4th dragon boy comes around the author gets so lazy he doesn't even bother with the formula and 4th dragon boy joins them instantly XD.
The male characters (except Yona's cousin Su won) are at the level of dating sim love interes…

riddled with clichés like i genuinely couldn’t take anything seriously. the entire romance felt so artificial and tropey, and it was so unconvincing. the dialogue, in particular, was so bad; so much of it had the opposite of its intended effect on me, and some of it was genuinely so unbearably cringe. “it stirs my desire.” what did i do to deserve this 🙁 “‘let him out.’ ‘but...’ ‘our guest has red hair.’ ‘excuse me!’” clearly great dialogue. these two quotes were in consecutive episodes btw like i was so tired. “‘they intend to eliminate us, to keep the blue dragon hidden.’ ‘eliminate us? why?’” girl he JUST SAID
this has such weak writing, and not many of the characters have much depth to them. this, combined with the fact that not much time is spent on developing the relationships, mak…

The amazing art style and soundtrack is tremendously enhanced by the random yet striking humorous inserts that never failed to surprise. The characters are also well-developed and likable. The overarching story is interesting. Sadly, the anime ended and does not seem to have a continuation on the horizon while the story in the Manga gets really rolling. Some story bits, especially around the antagonist are heavily contrived though. There are some inexplicable 'Gary Stu' characteristics thrown at him which made the character fall really flat. The crew around Yona on the other hand were much more interesting. Overall, this is a superbly fun show to watch and I really hope we'll get a 2nd season despite it being very unlikely.

They just be teleporting to the next plot point world feels empty with tons of holes i wanted a show about world building similar to mushoku tensei or Frieren but its on the same level or worse than isekai that are low 6* not an 8.03* maybe my expectations were too high as it is so highly rated.
The art is good its no jjk or demon slayer but for 2014 its better than i expected.
Watch if you are interested in the premise and will read the manga after as it doesn't finish or even get to a good end point.

Give the show a chance. Let it pull you in and you wont regret it. I say it's pretty mild for an adult but I would rate it moderate for teens due to lots of sexual comments, advances and it covers a topic later in the season that is all too real but often overlooked today. We are romantics but love a good fight seen and comedy. This show not only had those but pretty great character development for what was shown. The art style was also pretty darn good. IT NEEDS ANOTHER SEASON in order to complete the character development. It is absolutely outrageous that there hasn't been another season yet. I'm sure not all would agree with me, but I went into this show expecting a mediocre anime yet was wonderfully surprised and highly recommend it.

If you go into this with high expectations you'll be very disappointed. The story is extremely weak and the show barely progresses anywhere.
The show picks up from episode 6 then goes back down after episode 21, at times the individual episodes are very enjoyable; the art is great, some of the action scenes are great and a fraction of the main cast are very entertaining to watch.
other times it is painfully cringey and nonsensical. To think anyone would have any sympathy for a two faced murderous liar that ordered for them to be captured and forced into marriage/killed.
wild story man. only watch this if you're bored and like cute anime boys. the main girl is terribly pathetic.
This was fun to laugh at and yell at my monitor.
the good kind of bad.

Akatsuki no Yona starts off pretty annoying but I swear continue and you'll find the show growing on you till you realize you're watching the last episode.
I watched a lot of shoujos and honestly this one has a good plot, and the pacing is just beautifully done. The characters have a great development, their personalities are really unique too which makes this anime more enjoyable considering the topic. It'd be easy to have boring characters but instead, they all hold a special spot in the plot.
But most importantly what truly saved this show, the OST. I swear on everything the sound in this anime is unreal. It gives me goosebumps. Every. Darn. Episode. The art is also great, if this isn't enough to conquer you then what can?
Also, I thought it was boring at first because everyone talke…

Yona of the Dawn is one of those rare series that blends action, political intrigue, and romance without dropping the ball on any of them. It starts with what feels like a classic fairytale setup, a sheltered princess in love, a loyal bodyguard by her side, and a kingdom at peace, before shattering it all in one night. That betrayal forces Yona out of her palace and into the real world where she begins an incredible journey of growth.
What I love most is how the story takes its time. Yona does not instantly turn into a warrior or a leader. She struggles, she learns, she makes mistakes, and she earns every bit of the strength and respect she gains. Watching her go from a naive girl with her head in the clouds to someone who can fight, lead, and inspire loyalty is incredibly satisfying.

i really like this kind of adventure storytelling. I don't have any compliment about this anime. but one thing, if i were the director,i will be null what should be the next seasons. and i think this anime should have a seasons 2.
😸😸😸
i like the 4 dragon and hak. but sometimes i'm so pity with su-won. because,i think he deserves to be a king. since his character is like the previous king ll and at the same time, su-won doesn't deserve to be king because the way he became king is wrong.
😸😸😸
For the style of the characters ,yes,i like it since it was released in 2014. and i like the strong character, like Hak is really strong. and i like the funny part of the story. sometimes they argued each other especially Hak and yun,hak and ki-ja,hak and jeaha, kept arguing each other. and it…

I don't agree with some of the negative feedback I've seen about this show. It is a shojo anime, and a reverse-harem type as well, so clearly it's not going to appeal to all audiences, but I think it's good at being what it is.
Yona was a delight, she worked really hard to get stronger, she worked to reconcile her love of her father with just criticisms people had of him as a ruler, and she had a lot of love for people. She's a little spacey about the guys, but it's a good choice for wish fulfillment, because it encourages them to do all the escalating.
The guys were distinct and all got fleshed out a bit. That's all I can ask for personally, and in truth, I'll take them pretty two-dimensional these days (I'm running out of reverse-harems to watch).
I read that it was politically shallo…

Yona of the Dawn isn't completed as an anime, but so far it's just fine. It's not the best thing ever, but it's fine.
This anime starts off with a sheltered princess. Suddenly, her life ends when her crush kills her dad, the king. That's one way to break someone's heart... Anyway, her loyal bodyguard protects her and they go on the run. Her crush assumes his spot as king, while she has to go on the run. She then collects dragon warriors to help her to get the kingdom back.
The art is beautiful and so is the music. No surprise there.
Characters is a big one. It's the strength and weakness. It's the strength because you see the backstory, the world is fleshed out by meeting new people, and you have character development of Yona, the main girl, and Yun, someone who tags along. Those two ha…
