one Of the best Shoujo/historical anime I've ever watched, Story is captivating, Slow-paced with really great writing, but most beautiful thing about this anime for me is characters, Shirayuki is not common Shoujo's Girl with annoying personality that need a hero to save her in every problem, when she kidnapped, she try to escape but she is not very strong to escape without help of Zen but at least she tried, and she is honest with her feeling. and Zen he is a great MC, he is not edgy, annoying or just a kind princes, he truly loves Shirayuki and try to hold her in his arms.

Snow White with the Red Hair tells a romantic fantasy story that focuses less on political intrigue and more on personal independence, kindness, and the quiet determination of someone trying to build her own future. Without following the typical fairy-tale formula where a heroine waits to be rescued, the series centers on a young woman who actively shapes her own path while gradually forming meaningful relationships along the way. The story begins with Shirayuki, a skilled herbalist known for her striking red hair, a rare trait that immediately draws unwanted attention. Living in the kingdom of Tanbarun, she works diligently as an apothecary, quietly helping people with medicine and herbal knowledge. Her peaceful life takes an abrupt turn when the kingdom’s vain and irresponsible prince, P…

This is my favourite shojo anime, and a great introduction to the series. The characters are compelling, the plot is paced well, and some action scenes keep it interesting. It's a timeless shojo anime that keeps the drama and suspense all the way till the end. Shirayuki is a refreshing protagonist as unlike other female leads, she actually fights for her position and doesn't always lean on Zen (Male lead) all the time. Every kiss/hug scene feels well earned as you can see these characters organically grow closer, but also never change their fundamental character. The OST is also good, with both seasons having great music. The plot overall mainly focuses on court politics, however, there are some slice-of-life elements included just so you can enjoy these characters being friends. Obi, Kiki…

For a pretty old anime, I didn’t expect such colorful and vibrant animation. It gave me the same homey, fantasy vibe as the SoL episodes in Frieren (also how Zen is much like Himmel). The protagonist, Shirayuki, is introduced as a strong, capable, and independent female lead. She shares a lot of similarities with MaoMao from The Apothecary Diaries, in that they both work in medicine and advance to become aids to people in powerful positions. It feels strange to talk so much about other shows when writing a review for Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, but this is where one of the main setbacks with the series comes from. All the mentioned series feature powerful and complex female protagonists, which Akagami no Shirayuki-hime strives to do, but falls short of. In creating Shirayuki, the writing bo…

Note: This will be a review of both seasons.
Overview:
Despite what the name might imply, "Snow White with the Red Hair" has almost nothing to do with the classic fairy tale, barring a few references in the first episode. It has no dwarves, no evil queen who's secretly a witch and pretty much no supernatural elements to speak of despite taking place in a medieval fantasy world. Instead, what we have is a lighthearted romantic drama about a lonely girl struggling to find her place in the world, and while the end result may be less than magical (in more ways than one), it's nevertheless worth a look if you're a romance fan.
Story (7/10):
"Snow White with the Red Hair" tells the story of Shirayuki, a young girl who works as a herbalist in the kingdom of Tanbarun and was born with highly rar…

THIS IS MY FAVORITE ROMANCE! It beats any Disney movie and any romance anime. I have rewatched both seasons in dubbed and subbed over a dozen times- it is just that good.
To any romantic at heart- this show is amazing. It doesn't include unnecessary lewd moments or immediately force romantic feelings. It is a story about two people who grow together as friends and discover the love that blooms between them. Not to mention the animation and the musical soundtrack are just beautiful. The only complaint I have is that it ended so perfectly at season two that there won't be any other seasons after that.
So here I wait. Patiently wondering (after 9 years) if there will be any romance animes that will even come close to my favorite, "Snow White with the Red Hair."

Hear me out!!This anime is not bad but it can be really predictable and tough to watch plus there is nothing to look forward, everything is crystal clear from the start, how the characters will end up, how the show will go forward etc. This is the type of romance anime I would recommend for new anime watchers who are seeking to watch a romance anime to watch. As for me I found the show to be too much predictable, but this is definitely the kind of anime I would have loved to watch when I just started watching anime, instead I got recommended to watch Sword art online, which I really regretted.

It's normal romance story, at first 6 episodes it was good them it started get slow but if you already watched saint's magic is omnipotent them it will mostly feel like a same story with different characters.but saint's magic omnipotent has more story and romance compared to this . I feel like if they focused on the plot it would have been great.you can try if you are into slow rom with fantasy theme.the characters stories are well explained except the FL.
So if you are into some fantasy themed romance anime , then it's for you , but if you want the story them it's not . You can read the manga if you want it has 110+ chapters something,if you wanna continue.

A nice anime to watch if you want something chill with beautiful and peaceful scenes and with nice characters. You won't find here action, adventures, absurd "school plot twists" out of nowhere, and other cliches specific to most anime.
Yes, because Shirayuki is disliked by almost no one, the plot feels a bit forced. The relationship between Shirayuki and Zen also feels the same because of how flawless it was all the time. On the other hand, not having random jealous characters like in shōnen anime feels more natural and more pleasant to watch. Maybe we just got used to having always some kind of drama in anime and life?!
Shirayuki has some specific traits, a reason why she is liked by many. Some might think that there is too much attention paid to her red hair. Well, if we'd lived in a w…

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (Snow White with the Red Hair) is not only beautifully written, but beautifully animated. Each episode had an easy to understand outline that kept me captivated. Each plot-point made sense to what I can see, as well as remained interesting.
The art and detail that went into making the environment for this anime is unreal. As a fine-arts major, I have to say that this anime is by far one of the most aesthetically appealing animes I've seen. The flowers, the sunshine beams and small dust particles, the books, the towers of the castles. Everything. It's gorgeous.
The love story itself is heartwarming. Typically, shoujos are not my favorite. I much prefer shonens. However, I think Snow White with the Red Hair would be enjoyable for all audiences, despite personal p…

So I was doubting to watch this because I don’t usually watch anime rated under 8 stars. BUT here I am waiting it a 9/10.
Zen and Shirayuki’s love story is very cute and sweet so if you’re into the romance genre, you’re going to love it.
The only reason I do not rate it a 10/10 is because of the ending. I felt like there wasn’t really an ending. Zen just confirms to her that she can be with him and that he’s going to ask her to marry him one day (which I cannot understand why the series did not end with them marrying) maybe they’re too young? I don’t know. He wasn’t young enough to have the marriage interview though. I guess the first prince also said that he needs to find a wife first? I wish it would of ended with them being officially together, it would of been a nice closure to the…

One of the best romance anime out there. Has a sweet and calm environment and setting as well as some good action from time to time. The main character Shirayuki is a herbalist who was troubled by the prince of the kingdom where she lived. Hence she moved to another kingdom where her love story with prince Zen starts. Both Shirayuki and Zen are amazing characters with intellect. The side characters Mitsuhide, Obi and Kiki also contribute to a lot to this story. The females of this anime are delicate yet fearless and the males of this story are strong yet not deprived of empathy. The overall romance is something to look forward to. It feels pure and not rushed. Totally worth watching.

I can give this one a pass because I like the way the main girl Shiriyuki, when faced with being forced to do something she did not want to do, she stuck to her resolve every time. Granted my expectations were low since there was a "princess" in the title, being associated with the soft spoken snow white, I was pleasantly surprised when she voiced her opinions to not take crap without a fight.
That being said, she needed help...a lot. She never really got herself out of trouble but she tried I guess? She always seemed to have a friend who had the exact skills she needed in that moment coincidentally. So shes not a badass in anyway, just a charmer, in that "Oh I guess im pretty and smart but i never noticed because im so humble about it" kind of way, which i can see why that would turn a l…

It's one of my comfort animes and I personally really enjoyed it. The characters were likable and overall kept me entertained, and its light-hearted atmosphere is nice. I also enjoyed it a lot more than the manga, I thought the pacing was way better.
Some people say they don't understand the hype or popularity but I think the appeal of it is just the romance is good and well-thought characters. I also like how non-toxic the characters are, and how they don't completely depend on each other for everything. Shirayuki's independent and reliable personality is nice and makes them a good protagonist.

A typical romance anime so nothing too special.
The story between a red head and a prince is honestly just like a typical romance anime, they fall in love, someone else is in love with the girl but can't have her but still stands by her without confessing his feelings and developing chemistry between both the girl and the prince.
One of my strongest positives to give to this anime is the art style, i dont know which studio decided to animate it but it is evident they put 100% effort in to it, the colours are so vibrant so if you ever feel sad and lonely, this is the romance for you.
So overall i wouldnt say its my favourite romance, probably because im super picky with my romances but it definitely takes the lead for animation :)

When writing a story, you don't nessicarily have to have this amazing plot filled with plot twists and rivetting developments. Yes, many a great anime has been driven by the characters.
So when your characters suck you know you're screwed.
Yeah this was a rough one for me, especially as it was a reccomendation by someone who's opinions on anime I respect, so to realize the show was just so mind-numbingly BORING was immensly dissapointing for me. Not that there weren't good elements or I could never understand why someone might enjoy this, but those moments were padded out by meaninglessness. Where I think this show could have shined is as a comedy. That would have at least made the moment to moment bearable and it has all the right ingredients as a slice-of-life, but there's no humor at…

A good, rather old fashioned romance, Shirayuki is a well made and beautiful series but ultimately feels a little too simplistic to deserve a really high mark.
MC Shirayuki runs away from her home because some idiot Prince (who only knows her by rumour) has decided the most beautiful girl in the kingdom should be his concubine. She runs straight into another Prince in the next Kingdom and even the dimmest of viewers knows the ultimate ending by the end of episode one.
Shirayuki is a very likeable character who seemed to me to be very carefully written to stay clear of appearing cliched. She is independently minded, brave and intelligent, but she is also aware that she has no social standing in the castle beyond her friendship with Prince Zen and the writer/s seem aware that these traits…

I think people sometimes miss the actual tie-ins with the old fairy tale Snow White but I feel like recognizing that helps to appreciate the meld of Eastern and Western sensibilities. We see the fairy tale elements of a young girl facing powerful nobility and having to take refuge in the woods. We have the prince charming. We even have the poisoned apples. The one fault that could possibly hold water is how long it really takes to really get to something meaty.
Characters:
The characters are almost too good. I do actually mean that as a slight criticism. A little too perfect, even in their shortcomings, and a little too unrealistic. But, despite that, they're easy to fall in love with. Our main character takes a while to flesh out as she comes across a little too two dimensional in the be…

Snow White with the Red Hair. It's always the shows with the longest names or the strangest ones that are most appealing, although this one is a little basic in comparison to some I've seen. As a man, I feel I am in the minority due to my enjoyment of romance shows. I'm a romantic at heart and enjoy watching a budding relationship blossom into true love. I don't have a preference on how they get there, but I do prefer it have a happy ending... although I've enjoyed my fair share of depressing endings as well.
This show started out a little dull for me. With a name like Snow White, I may have had some preconceived notions about how the story would turn out. After finishing the first couple episodes though, I found I actually began to appreciate the main characters and wanted to not only l…
