The World is Still Beautiful

The World is Still Beautiful

Introduction

In the Sun Kingdom, sunshine is part of its citizens' everyday lives, and rain is something that they have never even heard of. However, in a faraway land called the Rain Dukedom, the weather is reversed, and everybody has the power to create rain with their voices. Livius Orvinus Ifrikia has conquered the entire world and expanded the Sun Kingdom's influence in the three short years since he was crowned king. Upon learning about the powers to create rain, Livius decides to marry Nike Remercier, one of the princesses of the Rain Dukedom. However, those outside the Sun Kingdom have spread a rumor that Livius is a cruel, ruthless, and tyrannical ruler, and as word reaches the princess, she begins to prepare herself for the worst. But when she finally meets her fiancé, Nike discovers that he is an entirely different person from what she originally expected. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Quite possible the worst piece of garbage that I've ever had the misfortune of watching. The animation is bad. The repetition of the one shitty song whenever the protagonist uses her magic is grating. The characters are incredibly shallow and uninteresting with unbelievable development. The pacing is incredibly weird and inorganic. The king is pretty much just some entitled 13yo edgelord incel self-insert fantasy. The sexist undertones are archaic and gross. The setting is incredibly generic. The story as a whole is utter dogshit. The voice acting is bad across the board. The show literally has *zero* redeeming qualities and you'd have to be braindead to even remotely enjoy it.

A ...somewhat promising start, followed by perhaps one of the most valid crashouts in anime history (when blondie first appears). And after that i honestly lost all interest. Now,that more of a ... personal gripe is out of the way , this show is bad simply because it's either falesly advertized or the author had no clue what they were trying to make. Why am i saying that? Because this show has 3 genres and it does justice to not one of them. Fantasy? What fantasy? The only "magic" is the rain dance turned song. Nobody else has any other powers. There's no fantasy. Adventure? If watching some half-baked training montages and watching them walk from point A to point B counts as an adventure then i guess we discovered new meanings to adventuring. Now, to give credit where credit is due, they…

Even though I'm into female protagonists, The World Is Still Beautiful feels like a mixed bag in my opinion. It has its moments of giving me a good impression, but it also has parts that could've been better or things that could've been in it. The story is very interesting. It is centered on two countries in a fantasy world: The Sun Kingdom and the Rain Dukedom. Hey, admit it. You actually thought the latter nation was going to be called the Moon Kingdom the second you first read "Sun Kingdom." The Sun Kingdom is ruled by King Livius Orvinus Ifrikia and under his reign, he has conquered almost the entire world. The king will only allow the Rain Dukedom to retain its autonomy on the condition that he gets to marry one of the Dukedom's princesses. Princess Nike Lemercier ended up being chos…

If the process of having an identity disorder could be physically condensed into an anime this would be that anime. Never have a seen a story that knows less what it wants to be. Characters veer wildly between being good guys and bad guys, not in a realistic grey area way, but in a "flipping between extremely cartoonish poles" way. Characters will be attempted rapists one episode then become a silly comic relief guy later. Characters will be painted as evil and trying to control Nike and then turn around and be extremely genuinely written like "we were just worried about her." The biggest flip is constant; Livius will be a love interest hopeful that Nike is falling for but then will radically flip to being a little evil tyrant who is abusing her. All because it cannot decide if it wants…

“Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii” aka “The World is Still Beautiful” is what happens when someone with a nail stuck in hippocampus tries to write a plot of a romance story. The premise is a bit cliche but interesting nonetheless. A princess from one kingdom gets sent to a different kingdom to become a wife to its ruler. Not necessarily original but not tragic. The twist is the princess has special powers that allow her to control wind and summon rain and the prince is an obnoxious twat. Nike Remercier is a 17 year old optimistic, energetic, a bit tomboyish princess from the dukedom of rain. Her special skill is the ability to control the weather but her even more impressive skill is the ability to actually not kill her husband-to-be. She also likes to meddle in the affairs of others, mainly…

Such a great anime when I thought there was enough romance anime. I thought I have watched already the best of romance animes like your lie in april etc but this was such a hidden gem. I liked idk what to call them but the random dialogues like the last one that said I will fall in love with you again or something. Finally another romance anime done right definitely up there along horimiya. The story wasn't the typical kinf and prinecess married getting kids i mean my man Livi literally threw Nike in jail when the first time they met

This is a really great shojo that still grips onto action elements. The characters are developed, the underlying "feminine" themes of personal growth, quest for love, duty to family are all present but so are many others like being courageous, intelligent, and well-rounded. The main character is super loveable and the artwork is gorgeous. It never feels overly ditzy or sappy without cause. The ties to the natural world and the elements are probably my favorite part of the series. Overall a super solid watch for the viewer type. If you aren't into shojo, don't watch it. If you like shojo you will love it, pretty simple!

If you have watched 100 anime, you would probably feel like doesn't this story feel so generic. After reading the synopsis I really wanted to give it a try for all those cool things I could expect from MC, who I thought would be the king. But what I got instead is a rude MC princess who acts different towards the king and earns his trust and love. Doesn't sound familiar? like you have seen it somewhere? The main plot is the princess understands the king's struggles and gives him some moral and emotional support that is all tbh at least the main plot which is like a total of 3 episodes ig. But its not all that bad though. And one of the main turnoff is the age gap between the king and the princess. I guess its likely a 2 to 4 year gap. Whenever they share the screen we can clearly see the…

It is a very interesting shoujo anime where we see how a princess falls in love with a prince. That's the synopsis, the relationship that the two protagonists form is very nice at the beginning, it's like you don't like either of them at all, but as the chapters pass, they develop their pasts and you grow fond of them. The animation is very good, I feel that in the last chapter they raised the budget for it and I know much better. The soundtrack is good, the characters are interesting, there is a nice design of them. The only thing I'm going to shout is that I expect the king to be more like a king from games of thrones but he's not much calmer, I didn't like that. The last song of the anime is beautiful. I recommend it is an interesting romance anime. En español: Es un anime shoujo muy in…

Here she is and in style too. I'm into these fantasy style romances ala Kilala Princess and Snow White with the Red Hair. It's definitely one of those feel-good anime, hence the title. We see the good, the bad and what she rallies people to change. Specifically this King Livius who sent her family a marriage proposal, making her next in line. Now I won't spoil too much but I'll say that he's not too fond of the world and she is about to show him how it's beautiful. She? *bonk* Her name is Princess Nike *swoosh* and quite literally too, she has air powers. (though it's pronounced "Neek-ae") But anyway that idea in itself is pretty beautiful if you ask me because it unlocks his past as well as her own. She's the princess of rain, right? Rain isn't always looked at as a good thing, especiall…

Story 8/10 + comedy, romance, fantasy, music, magical powers, controlling weather, betrothal; good progression and pace. - sometimes the reverse-harem genre popped up a bit; hint dropping for the deeper drama to come after this season whereas this was the perfect time to leave the story as it is for people not really liking too much drama and existential crises. Art 10/10 + Attention to detail (opening song enhanced to the story progression each time was truly lovely), more realistic colour schemes, loosely-based medieval kingdom setting, no slacking off during the last episodes. - bit more old-school so some rough transactions/movements at times Sound 10/10 + nice voice acting, songs and music; the rain songs were serene and wonderful; also loved the few typical recurring soundtrac…

This anime is alright, if you are looking for a short anime to pass the time. The storyline is pretty easy to follow and I actually like the music in it. The only reason I give this a 6, is because if someone told me I had to drop this anime mid-way through I wouldn't miss it. It's also not the most memorable show. It has good themes in it though. Another big reason I didn't care too much about the romance aspect of this show is because the MC looks like a little boy. No, it's not because he's short. I've seen anime with short guy characters who look grown. I don't know what the two main character ages are supposed to be, but it was weird for me to picture them together because the lead girl looks like she could be his mother. I guess, it would be the art style. The boys facial features lo…

Personally, I really enjoyed the anime. Yes it may contain troupes that people are used to, but it is still an entertaining story. I have personally watched this anime multiple times, and each time have enjoyed it just as much. Yes, their was plot holes, but isn't there in everything? If you want an anime that isn't forcing war down your throat, and is more light hearted, I highly recommend. The characters keep this anime light hearted and funny. The story line itself isn't long winded and boring. I would happily watch again. I have not read the manga, so know nothing about it, but if it's anything like the anime I'd happily read it.

If you're looking for an pleasant escape from reality, and enjoy humor, romance, and a strong female lead, then give this show a watch. Nike is a passionate princess that has a beautiful spirit and a positive outlook on life. Livius, the Sun King, became a workaholic to avoid thinking about his past. He is a strong king, but has made enemies addressing the overindulgence and corruption of the nobility and religious leaders. Together Livius and Nike grow as people and inspire those around them. This series is predictable, but I don't think that's a bad thing. If you're looking for a romance that leaves you warm and happy, this is the one to watch. What is beauty in this world? Why do the two kingdoms have totally different vibes? How would a person lead, having been ostracized most of thei…

I'll admit, the anime did almost no justice for Livius & Nike's relationship as they are portrayed in the manga. I've read most of the manga and watched the whole anime. I do agree with reviews saying the anime adaptation was mediocre, but I'd like to review the manga instead. Still World is Beautiful has to be one of my favourite shoujo mangas. The author spares no detail with the art, you can really get blown away into their fantasy world. While Nike is pretty in the anime, her manga self has a whole different set of charm & beauty. Same with Livius, his character is drawn in a way where you can really see he's lost & hurt, yet still has his distinctive charm. Now, I can't really say that I wished the animation looked exactly like the manga, as that would be hard, but in order to unders…

I have been holding out on this anime for a long time and I am thankful. 4 years ago I would not have understood the feeling in this anime but now I do and it is great. I am not a fan of music anime and this is not one but the parts that are in this one are amazing. The final episode was a great ending and one that I will remember for a long time especially how it is so warming and teaches you the reality of love and how it's hard to not see a loved one and to leave your home to start somewhere else. others will try to get you to stay but in the end, it is time to leave. great anime a little confusing at first but it's great! even if the whole guy is younger and short and the woman is taller is a bit awkward it's still a good anime. though that was my one downside. I can't get into the who…

This anime was a very pleasant surprise. I had heard of it before, but was turned off since the main male character looked like a child. A few years later, I decided to give it a chance and I'm so glad that I did. If you're looking for an entertaining and heartwarming romance between a couple that don't seem compatible at first glance, then I would recommend this anime. My biggest complaint was that the anime was far too short. Story [6]: Because the anime was given a measly 12 episodes, the quality of the story took a bit of a hit. The plot was fine (and somewhat predictable), with meaningful scenes that really displayed the strength of the characters and the relationships with each other. However, every scene felt rushed and fleeting, not allowing the viewer to get carried away into the…

I decided to watch this one after seeing all the praises it got here and after watching TBH I'm not sure why it got so many such praises in the first place. This seems like an attempt to make a combination of both shoujo and shounen genres but it ends-up with a show that is essentially jack of all trades, master of none. Background: It's a story about the king on the sun kingdom, who managed to conquer most of the world even though he's still a child, and the princess of the rain kingdom, a poor country and one of the last places that remain autonomous. The sun kingdom, as the name implies, always has sunshine and rain is something that people have heard of but never seen, so the king pretty much demands to marry one of the rain kingdom princesses, who have the unique ability to call the…

What can I say? After 4 hours of binging this anime, it left me in a lot of tears just by finishing it. The story is so beautiful just as how beautiful the title of this anime is. I have never seen such a wonderful romance anime like The World is Still Beautiful. It is in it’s own niche. As much as it hurts for me to say, but I am both glad and sad that there is no sequel to this show. Glad because I think 12 eps was not too short nor not too long for the binging experience but sad because I just wanted to see more of Nike and Livi :’( A few OVAs would be alright just to show us some episodes of their life together but I suppose ep 12 is self-explanatory as to how their everyday lives would technically be. There isn’t much to say for my case apart from the fact this really hit me deep. Ove…
