InuYasha is one of those anime that simply has its own identity. The mix of adventure, fantasy, romance, and comedy works really well, and even after so many episodes, it's easy to understand why it became such a classic.
The dynamic between Kagome and InuYasha is probably one of the most memorable parts of the story. They can be incredibly annoying with each other while somehow having the kind of chemistry that makes you want to follow their relationship until the very end. And, of course, the rest of the group becomes an important part of the experience too—each character brings something different to the journey.
The story can feel a little too long at times, and it has that classic problem where certain arcs seem to drag on longer than they really need to. But honestly, after 167 episo…

Note: This will be a review of the whole series, including "The Final Act".
Overview:
Every anime fan has a specific anime that they cherish above all others, and in many cases it's not even necessarily the one everyone else loves. In my case, that anime is "Inuyasha", an absolutely breathtaking fantasy adventure animated by Sunrise and based on the manga by the famous Rumiko Takahashi, with just about everything a show could possibly need to make it compelling and enjoyable, whether it be action, comedy, romance or horror. The result is a series that is both uniquely great and near-flawless, and has in many ways set my standards for anime in general.
Story & World (10/10):
For as long as she can remember, modern-day teenager Kagome Higurashi has been told legends by her eccentric grandf…

InuYasha is a very complex anime. It has things in it that are good but at the same time, has things in it that are bad to. I remember watching this when I was in my junior and senior year of high school. Which was nearly, 20 years ago. I would sneak downstairs at 3:00 in the morning to watch it while my parents were asleep. I did enjoy it as a teen but as I look back on it. I realized that there are things in it that flew over my head somehow.
InuYasha is a feudal fairytale that takes place when Kagome Higurashi turns 15 years old and goes back in time by an artifact known as, the Bone Eaters Well. She releases a half-demon named, InuYasha from his 50 year slumber to destroy a demon that pursues her because she is not only the reincarnation of a powerful priestess named, Kikyo, but also…

Inuyasha is one of those rare anime that leaves a lasting mark on your heart. With its perfect mix of action, emotional depth, romance, and a beautifully built fantasy world, it’s easy to see why this series is a beloved classic, and why I absolutely loved it.
The story follows Kagome Higurashi, a modern day schoolgirl who gets pulled into Japan’s feudal era through a mysterious well, only to meet Inuyasha, a half demon with a painful past and a fierce heart. What begins as a reluctant partnership evolves into a journey of love, loss, and loyalty as they battle demons, uncover secrets, and gather the shards of the powerful Shikon Jewel.
What makes Inuyasha so special is how it balances intense storytelling with genuine emotional growth. Every character, whether it’s the fiery Kagome, the…

Honestly, I don’t get why some people dislike InuYasha. For me, it’s hands down one of the best anime ever.
First off, the world-building is just incredible. It strikes this perfect balance between the modern era and the Sengoku period, creating a setting that feels rich, alive, and full of history. It’s like you’re stepping into a different world every time, and yet it all fits together so well. (10/10)
Then there’s the character development, which is top-notch. Remember InuYasha at the start? He’s this rude, closed-off jerk who barely cares about anyone. But as the story unfolds, especially with Kagome around, he starts to change. You get to see his softer, more vulnerable side, and it’s so satisfying to watch. Even his sword, Tessaiga, evolves alongside him, which adds a cool layer to…

I remember only getting interested in this show hearing the beautiful OST Futari no Kimochi. While not interested in Isekais in general the time period and synopsis still got me enough excited to try it out.
Ended up being a good watch. The music really is good all around. Openings and endings aswell. Unfortunely what lets this show down is way to much fillers and episodic nature. Inuyasha is at its best when it focuses on its story. Unfortunely most of the show follows the episodic nature with a new adventure they see of at the end. Its simply to many episodes of this and it gets to repetetive.
Just focusing on the major story arcs this could been an 8 but making a complete review for all episodes it goes down to a 7 for me.
7/10

Inuyasha has the whole curiosity formula of the many famous work of Rumiko Takahashi although this anime is my obesession along with Ranma 1/2 and Rurouni Kenshin favorites of the passion to this day to remember.
Plot
It's about a Japanese schoolgirl named Kagome Higurashi who is pulled into a well by a centipede monster and it went through the 500-year time tunnel to Japan's civil war looking era which is the feudal era in Japan. As She escapes from the well just to discover something as she noticed as she sees Inuyasha who is a half dog demon is pinned to a nearby tree by the priestess named Kikyo until kikyo died after she shoots an arrow at Inuyasha to a nearby tree from the very beginning, and then she reluctantly team up with her predecessor's enemy to hunt down the many shards of…

Now I'm not sure if this is a hot take or not, but I strangely love this show. I know that some people shit on it due to the fact that it brought a lot of fangirls into the anime fandom space that a lot of guys mocked basically for acting like teenage girls. It’s more of a teenage girl power fantasy with conflicts about romance instead of a male power fantasy with conflicts about willpower. It’s like the anime version of Twilight, or the excuse I’ve always heard since I've finished this show: “It’s Dragon Ball Z but for girls.” Which as a grown man, I think that's pretty cowardly to judge something just because girls like it. Guys watch InuYasha too, right? I'm a guy and I watched it, so I don't know why we have to bring sexism into the mix.
But still I can see why this show wouldn’t be…

The story of InuYasha is about a 15-year old girl called Kagome who accidentally fell into a well and was sent back in time to feudal Japan. It is revealed to her that she is the contemporary incarnation of a priestess with magical powers and partners up with a half-demon named InuYasha to recover fragments of the Shikon Jewel. Although the show has grown in popularity, it has also been criticized because of easily identifiable plot holes and repeating character behaviors.
The show has mesmerized audiences from all around the world with a strange romantic time travel fairy tale with an evil twist. Nevertheless, while it is good enough for the general public, it may not be satisfactory to more discerning audience. The fantasy and adventure components may be interesting, but they do not add…

This is one of the first anime's I ever watched growing up so my opinion will probably be biased. Seeing as I saw this anime growing up back in the early 2000s it's probably one of the reasons I loved it so much. It's has a little bit of everything, from adventure to comedic scenes, to fight scenes and a bit or romance. Although, the main reason I liked it so much was due to the adventure aspect as it follows Inuyasha and Kagome's adventures in the feudal era while they search for the shards of the sacred Shikon Jewel. Along the way the meet new friends and encounter many foes. To this day, the OST of this show is still one of my favourites because it has a bit of everything which goes great with the show.
A few of the things that might not make this a popular anime with the general publ…

I apologize first English is not my mother tongue.InuYasha is a good anime, it has many genres of anime included, you can empathize with many characters and you see the development of the main characters and you see progress in them.
All the characters are well developed, the only thing that I like is the villain (Naruku) but it makes me laugh a little bit that all the evils of feudal Japan are his fault. Hahaha
So if I recommend this anime? Totally
In order not to make my review too long I would just summarize InuYasha as the perfect anime to introduce someone to watching anime.

This is really one of the best stories to come out of 90's anime. The characters are endearing and stay with you for decades after. The action is great and the human (when not outdated) still funny. Not only is the main plot about tracking down all the shards of the jewel compelling, but the subplots are worth watching as well. The main love triangle also manages to not get too annoying as things develop. The ending isn't bad but you are left wanting more. Luckily there is more to finish things off and I look forward to finishing it.
If you're looking for something dramatic and romantic with a good dose of horror and humor, you will enjoy this anime.

There's a great Anime in here somewhere. Unfortunately, its buried in filler but we still are left with at least a good one. The biggest problem with Inuyasha is its to long and to bloated full of crap. If this series could have been cut down to say 60-70 Episodes or even less Id easily bump the score up. The main plot line is pretty good its just unfortunate That its moves away from it to pointless filler.
The characters are a bit of a mixed bag likable but one dimensional for the most part. Inuyasha and Kogome constantly get close to a romantic relationship only for it to always be sabotaged either by Inuyasha or Kogome and reset again. This kind of keeps negating character development in a lot of ways. Although they do evolve a bit as the story goes on.
Action is pretty good and the…

Looking for silver and found gold!
I wasn't expecting much when I started Inuyasha, but I quickly found myself watching 5-7 episodes a day! Inuyasha is a fun anime and if I had a kid, I would want him/her to watch Inuyasha. I believe that 12 year old me would've been more into this anime than I was when watching it since at its core it really is a kid's show, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
The plot is engaging and allows for characters to develop at a steady pace. One complaint that I have with the story is that it seems a bit drawn out at times and gets a tiny bit slow. Other than this, the main plot of the story is simple but sound making for an entertaining show.
The art and animation are alright for an early 2000s anime but I truly believe that this hurts the fight scenes at times an…

This unique and simplistic story of a fantastic calibre tells a progressive story which is paced very well. However, the art and voice acting and music which is generally praised in anime circles, to me is personally is slightly dated and unrealistic, still mostly looks good though, and served it's purpose to tell the great storylines. The characters are well-rounded and have many flaws and strengths.
The characters (especially Inuyasha) are very relatable and grew well in their development, which is quite a feat in these highly unusual scenarios.
There were some good villains but it would have been a 10 with even more great villainy.
I believe that anyone with good taste who can overlook the slightly dated art style, voice acting and music will at least a modicum enjoy this series and al…

Inuyasha was always on on Adult Swim along side FMA and the like. I think for that reason it was pretty popular in it's hay day. The very first anime convention I went to had plenty of Kagome's and Kikiyo's. There was a Warcraft 3 Tower Defense map themed around it. It was kind of a big deal.
I didn't get around to watching the whole series start to finish until 2018 or so, I didn't have MAL back then so it's hard to pin down an exact time-table. Coming back to the series after so long was like visiting an old friend. I think the shows strengths are really the characters and their individual stories that lead them to traveling together.
The shows weakness though is that even when it isn't doing filler it has a hard status quo that it adamantly refuses to break. Once all the characters ge…

I finally finished this anime and I was bored & never wrote a review so this will be my first one!!
Inuyasha is one of those anime where at times it can be very suspenseful & you can't take your eyes off the screen & other times where it tends to get draggy... There were some episodes where I was on the verge of falling asleep and others where I could not stop watching. Moving on to the story:
Story: The story is very simple & easy to follow; group of friends try to defeat main villain & the Shikon Jewel while defeating other villains along the way. There were many unique aspects to this anime and overall it was easy to follow. There also tends to be a love triangle and tension between Inuyasha's main love interests: Kikyo & Kagome, who is the main heroine. This scenario always left me…

I've seen this show recommended a lot so I finally got around to watching it. Overall, I'd give it a 4. If you have nothing else to watch and are looking to turn your brain off a bit, this show is perfectly acceptable. The story does drag on and there seemed to be no real major plan from the beginning on how to resolve it, the art work is decent but nothing spectacular (the fights leave a lot to be desired if you're interested in that). The characters are definitely the high point, yet their relationships don't develop too far.
Spoilers below -
For the story more specifically - it isn't until about 20 episodes in that the real crux of where the plot will go towards is known, and it felt like it came out of nowhere. The idea behind the sacred jewel was semi-interesting, but not enough to l…

When I read the reviews, I notice that it is often the action scenes or the humor of the show that are criticized - fair enough. For me, however, Inuyasha represents neither - as assumed by many here - a classic shounen, nor a humorous anime or a simple mix between both. The appeal of the series consists for me of two heavily important things, which are neither the fights, nor funny characters and their runninggags
On the one hand, Inuyasha takes place in what I consider a miraculous world, which on the one hand seems wonderfully mystical with its demons and magical forces, but at the same time is not kitschy and exaggerated, but always retains a touch of "reality". It never feels overloaded, which helped me get caught within the atmosphere of the show. It is not a stereotype world of exc…

Wow where do I even begin. First time I watched Inuyasha was in 2009 and again in 2021 so not your usual fan because of nostalgia. Inuyasha is a packed anime, so I will write only the main points.
Nobody spins a tale and write characters developmemt like Rumiko Takahashi. A complex storyline which isn't fit for young kids mind with action, fantasy, teenage love, and a memorable cast. Inuyasha is fantasy tale set in Feudal Japan. As usual for Takahashi her gags are the best and lighten the mode from time to time.
The characters are what make Inuyasha a masterpiece. I never seen such realistic character (yes even the demons), their emotions are so real you will be invested in them. The MC is loud, rude and sweet, but not your typical Shonen MC, here everything has a reason.
You see Inuyash…
