Beautiful animation, great music, and a simple story executed really well. The plot isn’t exactly groundbreaking revenge, demons, training, and becoming stronger but the emotional moments and pacing kept me invested.
Tanjiro is an easy character to root for, though some of the side characters feel more exaggerated than fully developed. The series balances serious moments with comedy, sometimes a little too much. The character reactions generally fit the world, even if the power progression can feel convenient.
The real highlight is the presentation. The art style and animation make even familiar shonen ideas feel spectacular, especially during the fights.
Not the most original anime, but it’s incredibly entertaining and easy to recommend if you enjoy action, fantasy, emotional storytell…

Demon Slayer is a great anime held back by some seriously frustrating characters and writing choices. Zenitsu and Inosuke might genuinely be two of the most obnoxious characters I've ever seen. Their ridiculously exaggerated personalities and endless screaming left me with a brain aneurysm, to the point where I dreaded every scene they were in. Tanjiro's excessive narration also drove me batshit. The creators really need to shut up, trust their audience more, and allow the story to speak for itself instead of constantly spelling everything out. Despite all that, the story between Tanjiro and Nezuko is beautiful, with an immersive world and plenty of heartfelt moments. And then there's the production, which is beyond godly. Ufotable completely outdid themselves here; the whole season…

After taking more than a year and a half long break from watching anime, I finally decided to pay a Crunchyroll subscription and watch another anime. Narrowing my choices to just four anime, it ultimately came to the spin of the wheel of luck to decide which one I'm going to watch, and it ended up being "Kimetsu no Yaiba" or as it is globally known, "Demon Slayer". I am happy to say that luck was on my side and that I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Tanjirou and the company.
"Demon Slayer" starts off strong with the traumatic experience of our main character Tanjirou losing his family to a demon attack and his sister Nezuko herself turning into one. Since he naturally wants to save her instead of killing her, in a convenient turn of events he becomes a demon slayer and starts fighting dem…

Demon slayers first seasons starts off relatively strong, i like to compare it to a child friendly berserk, main character loses everything he had except one person and fights to try and help said person, plus being a lone swordsman ofc. I was pretty suprised on how strong the first few episodes were, and i was really enjoying the atmosphere of the show, but at least in my opinion the show drops so much of its character once zenitsu and inosuke come in. I hate them as characters, one yells all the time and the other yells and cries, it gets tired really really fast. Ill admit they add a bit more complexity to fights but they are such shallow characters that even when something bad happens to them, you really just do not care.

Kimetsu no Yaiba, a series about slayer demons, as reflected by the name
First things first, the animation is beyond incredible, Ufotable did an unbelievable job, sure it has the generic badass fight scenes, but even scenes of the characters enjoying a bowl of noodles look clean. The intro, Gurenge, is one of if not the most recognizable anime intros of all time. The only reason people say it’s overrated is because they’ve listened to it so many times that they got sick of it.
Now many people complain Demon Slayer is completely carried by animation, and this is simply not true. The story is basic but good. It’s a classic Shonen battle anime filled with tragic backstories, training arcs, and climactic battles. The characters are good, with all of them having a distinctive trait, Tanjiro’s…

This season was decent. The weakest part of this was the story, very generic and honestly feels like some of the pacing was a bit uneven some parts felt way too fast while some felt a bit slow.
The animation is beautiful and fights are amazing, easily the best part, some of the best I’ve seen. Ufotable did great here.
The characters were a bit lacking, Tanjiro was pretty boring, Zenitsu was annoying at times, and Inosuke was also very one note.
I like it enough and would recommend but pretty generic with great animation, fights, and music.
Overall Score: 62% on the moist meter

Kimetsu no Yaiba is an anime which I became totally immersed in right from the start of the series. The two things which instantly caught my attention were the amazing animation and the touching storyline. Everything about it seems to be perfectly executed in terms of visuals and emotion.
Characters are definitely among the strongest points of this series. They all have well-defined personalities, traits and reasons for their behavior, thus making them highly relatable. Additionally, their interactions and relationship are natural and very heartwarming, adding yet another level of emotional investment to the action.
However, what cannot go without mentioning is also the soundtrack. It really brings out the emotions of any situation and adds so much to each scene whether it is full of em…

"The animation that changed anime" might sound like an exaggeration, but in the case of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, it's easy to understand where that feeling comes from.
The work takes a relatively simple premise and transforms it into something extremely impactful thanks to its execution. Set in Taishō-era Japan, the story presents a world where demons (called Oni) lurk in the shadows and feed on humans. To combat them, there is a dedicated organization: the Demon Slayer Corps. It is within this scenario that we follow Tanjiro Kamado, a protagonist driven by tragedy, but also by a rare empathy.
After having his family brutally massacred and seeing his sister, Nezuko Kamado, transformed into a demon, Tanjiro begins a journey that mixes revenge, hope, and redemption. The story's stru…

A strong first season, mainly because it focuses on what works. Tanjiro Kamado anchors the show, and the early focus on his family and his bond with Nezuko provides a clear emotional core that later arcs struggle to match. Despite a simple, sometimes generic shonen narrative, it feels grounded, with stakes and character motivations well established rather than rushed or forced.
Production truly elevates it. Ufotable’s animation, compositing, and direction turn standard material into something memorable, often surpassing the source manga visually. The show avoids most of the frustrating "asspull" moments that appear later in the series, keeping the action contained and believable. There are still issues, especially with underdeveloped side characters, but the balance between character, ton…

I definitely think this anime started off really slow, and in my own opinion boring. But it certainly ramped up towards the end of the season, it helps to latch onto a character to get through it. This is also an anime i've dubbed 'anime of misery and despair', every episode is misery inducing for no good reason! The animation style was insane though, very pleasing to the eye and not at all jarring, and the voice work in the english dub wasnt cringe like it can be in other anime. Again with the animation, the stylization and the art style were INSANEEEE, very beautiful. Swamp demon is my princess.

It has been a few years since I watched this show. I enjoy action anime and I thought they did a good job in that department. The concept was interesting as well. I really liked the main character Tanjiro. I kind of liked the emotional aspect of him, but I couldn’t stand the other two main characters, Zenitsu and Inosuke. I finished the first season regardless. I was hoping their characters would change with time, but they never seemed to get less annoying. Ultimately, there were elements I enjoyed, and I wanted to love the show, but I didn’t like it enough to continue on with the next seasons/movie.

Demon Slayer: An Anime I had originally dropped after about 7 episodes when it was first releasing, I decided to pick it back up all these years later and give it another go and I must say, it was pretty good. Definitely flaws which I'll get to, but it was better than I remember it being.
Demon Slayer: The story goes Tanjiro's entire family is wiped out by Demons excluding his sister Nezuko who is actually turned into a demon instead. Fortunately retaining her humanity she becomes a half demon half human. Now on a journey to turn Nezuko back into a full human, Tanjiro sets out for both a cure and for revenge.
It's a story that isn't super unique, but with a vast amount of anime, it's not often you're going to find something completely unique. However, I would be remits if I didn't ackn…

Frankly I think I'm being generous to score this as highly as 7/10, but as much as I hate a lot of things about this show there are also some positive aspects that I can't ignore.
PROS
- Gorgeous animation and excellent fight design & combat flow, everyone says this but it's the main reason the show is fun to watch. The visuals always deliver. I tend to stay away from similar shonen series because I feel that fights often get way too long and are visually boring, but this show's fights usually hold my interest.
- The two protagonists and their relationship to each other feel genuinely compelling. Tanjiro gets some hate for being basic, which he is. I find him endearing despite this because I love a deeply earnest and gentle spirited character who respects everyone as a matter of common de…

Flashy fights, amazing visuals, and great production quality from Ufotable. It also has the formula of a generic and mediocre shonen story. Kimetsu no Yaiba is probably the most overrated and cliché’ Shonen anime I’ve ever watched. On the outside, it’s a visual spectacle; underneath, it’s a mid story that recycles a lot of the common tropes you would see in other anime. It’s also served with cringe comic relief and a heaping side of fan service (I’m looking at you Entertainment District Art). This anime has every shonen trope you could ever imagine; a training arc, an exam arc, a meeting with the first Akatsuki member arc, Akatsuki members, sword techniques, cheap comic-relief, and excessive fan-service by the second-half of Season 2 (yes Season 2 is split into a movie and a TV series for…

An anime that I avoided for a very long time. I knew it existed, I even knew most of the things from there and I really didn't understand why it had such a hype. The main problem for me was that it was absolutely everywhere = spoilers, and that my friend was constantly talking about it in connection with her ex (I hated her ex and I felt sorry that it was connected to her, because it's from my sister's fav anime and she kept trying to convince me to watch it. Unsuccessfully...). Anyway, this year my sister started talking about the Demon Slayer movie, that she wanted to go see it with me, to which I told her why not, it's an anime (I love them), but that I wouldn't know anything about it, so she simply summarized it for me. Last week, however, I thought I could at least watch the first epi…

This anime is just carried by animation i dont understand why people like it so must. Plot is basic it is not the best but not the worst. Characters are quite mid they try a bit to give the characters some depths but not so much. Not so much world building for an adventure anime. This anime is more for those younger kids who are like 13 14 years old. Not the best anime out there and im not comparing it to like dragon ball the big three or hunter hunter im comparing it to like sword art online (sao) or black clover or my hero putting them side by side demon slayer, demon slayer is quite mid. I dont know why people call it the best anime. But the animation and fights are really well made so i think i can recommend it to people who are still new to anime cause it isnt so hard to understand bu…

One trick pony award goes to ...
World seems believable and follows kind of cliche but overall all solid structure
Plot seems alright for a shounen
Art feels unique until female characters pop in and u realize that it lacks in many, many places to be called good, as far everything else art wise goes, fighting scenes included it's good
Characters are weak even for a shounen anime, they are introduced with a certain "color" and they pretty much go trough entire season without changing, there is no apparent growth or change in terms of morale or motivation, no change in usual behavior or antics hence it's a one trick pony
Overall it is ur generic fighting anime for a new generation that lacks in character art and character depth, overrated

Overall, Kimetsu no Yaiba is a mid series. The problem doesn’t come from Ufotable, which did a great job adapting the manga, but from the source material itself. The plot of the manga is quite poor; it feels like the author simply took every nekketsu rule and cliché, combined them, and called it a story.
In good shōnen series, these clichés and rules are still present, but the author adds something—message, opinion, emotion—that makes the work engaging and meaningful. In Demon Slayer, Koyoharu Gotōge seems to have skipped that step, leaving the result empty and insipid.
On the other hand, this weak manga was adapted by an outstanding studio, and that’s what makes Demon Slayer “mid”: it has a poor story, but my god, what a pleasure it is to watch. Without the animation, the rating would h…

I am writing this after watching the Swordsmith Village arc. This anime is mid, but it is easily ingestible for a binge watch. If I binge watch something, I tend to give it a high rating because it's able to keep my interest consistently. If you're a fresh anime watcher new to anime, this anime will be very appealing to you. If you've seen a lot though, this brings nothing new to the table and is sort of predictable because it's pretty obvious the main character is probably ultimately never going to be defeated. In stories like this which are cliche, one of the main characters needs to die or it's too cliche for me. The MC will never lose or always find some way of surviving. If the MC or sister gets killed off at the end of the story (I'm not reading the manga), I'll come back and give th…

I've rewatched this season and I just now I get it - the writers had no idea who this show is for. The themes are heavy, the violence is 'in your face' but somehow they thought it would be a good idea to incorporate a character like Zenitsu.
I'm now looking for the second time at a couple of his scenes and I just can't help but be discouraged from seeing through the entirety of his scenes.
To the writers - How, and why, would you think that your target audience will find Zenitsu as funny? Or as a 'comedic break' from the seriousness of the anime? You've wrote him so badly, inconsistent, without any depth, without any reasonings or justifications - even within the show itself! The decision to make him yell most of the time? For what reason? What personality trait were you emphasizing with…
