I watched JJK because I heard it was similar to CSM, however, that was a fatal mistake.
JJK is CSM dumbed down for babies, with flashy fight scenes to grasp their attention span because nothing else in this anime can. Bland characters, the most mediocre and average plot imaginable, and tonal deafness make this anime unbearable. This anime is extremely overrated because it has impressive animations and hot characters, but everything else is boring and I (an insomniac) fell asleep during it. An anime like JJK is made solely to appeal to the mindless Shonen fans who have no cognitive inference of the media they engage with; they will see cool action scenes and nothing else which causes JJK to be lacklustre in every other department (e.g. character writing, story writing, emotional intensity…

In English:
Jujutsu Kaisen is, overall, a good shonen... with a weak start.
Plot (6/10)
A boy swallows a cursed finger, becomes possessed by a super-powerful curse, and must try to coexist with it while unlocking its full potential. It is not a new concept in the world of anime and manga, but the way the idea is developed is interesting, as it presents a constant, looming danger to the protagonist and those around him.
Story (7/10)
Since it is just the beginning, there isn't much to say yet; however, the subplot involving the Special Grade curses' plan to stage a sort of "terrorist attack"—so to speak—is interesting. It is also compelling to see high-ranking sorcerers suspecting such a plot, taking every paranormal event seriously, and trying to piece the puzzle together.

In my opinion, Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the best modern action anime, and undeniably better than most works in the genre.
Story (6/10):
The premise of a normal boy who swallows the finger of an evil being and is introduced to a school for sorcerers is very good, and it’s interesting to watch him discover how things work. My main criticism is the way several different concepts are introduced: Cursed Energy, Domain Expansion, Simple Domain, Innate Domain, and so on, all with very little time in between. The anime does try to explain them to you, but it ends up making things more confusing and harder to memorize. Another major downside is that it takes way too long to really get going, only truly picking up around episode 16. (Keep in mind that only the first season is being evaluated.)

Jujutsu Kaisen immediately stood out to me because of its incredible animation, intense fights, and overall style. MAPPA did an amazing job bringing the action to life, and there are so many scenes that simply look incredible. The animation alone makes several fights memorable, but fortunately, there is more to the anime than just good visuals.
I really enjoyed the characters and their dynamics. Even though the story follows a familiar shounen formula at times, the cast has enough personality to keep things entertaining. Gojo is obviously a standout, but I also enjoyed seeing the relationships between the students and how differently each character approaches the world of jujutsu.
The fights are definitely one of the strongest aspects of the anime. They are fast, creative, and visually stu…

A naive, selfless, reckless teenager who takes on the responsibility of extraordinary power—that’s nothing new. Yuji is the archetypal protagonist of a nekketsu shonen universe, and this first season clearly doesn’t set out to prove otherwise. I’d even go so far as to say that the references to other works in the same genre (Naruto, Bleach, My Hero Academia, etc.) are clearly intentional.
Now, this “lack” of originality and this simplicity don’t mean it’s bad. The animation and overall aesthetic work perfectly; it’s fluid and easy to follow, it’s satisfying, and the fights are super dynamic. The characters introduced so far all clearly have their own personalities, flaws, and beliefs. None of them are particularly heroic; on the contrary, they’re full of ego and arrogance. In my opinion,…

Honestly, even in 2026, Jujutsu Kaisen was still absolutely amazing to me. TvT I don't even know how to properly explain how much this anime pulled me into this story. There were so many moments where I literally got goosebumps, and some scenes acually gave me chills down my back. TcT The animation, the characters,th fights, and the whole atmosphere together are just incredible.
It's really rare an anime to pull me in this much, but JJK definitely did. There are still scenes that randomly come back to my mind and give me the wxact same feeling all over again. It was exciting, heartbreaking, shocking, and beautiful all the same time. ;) I honestly don't think I'm going to forget this anime for a very long time. ;)

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the few battle shounen that consistently keeps me invested in both its story and characters. What really makes it work for me is Yuji Itadori. His struggles with guilt, responsibility, and the value of human life give the series a strong emotional core. I also appreciate that the show takes its world seriously and rarely lets comedy undercut important moments. My biggest criticism is that the story gradually becomes more ensemble and plot-focused than I would prefer in season 3. Even so, the combination of strong character writing, emotional stakes, and a consistently serious tone makes it one of my favorite anime. It also has one of my favorite tropes in anime, which is the inner-demon trope. Sukuna’s whole being and his effect of Yuji is something I immensely enj…

I think I can review this show without giving away any spoilers, so here we go.
I had already finished Season 1 and stopped there. Before continuing with Season 2, I decided to go back and rewatch the first season. After finishing it again, I can honestly say it's a pretty solid introductory season.
The story follows a young student who is suddenly thrust into a world he never knew existed. From there, his life spirals into a struggle where his very fate hangs in the balance: will he live, or will he die?
That's probably the best way to explain the premise without spoiling anything.
Each episode introduces different cursed spirits while following the students of Jujutsu High as they train under the guidance of their teacher. Throughout the season, you watch them grow as sorcerers, lear…

Temu Chainsaw Man, and terribly mid.
This wasn't an enjoyable watch, but it wasn't a slog either.
If you've watched and love Chainsaw Man, don't bother with this one. The main characters are basically similar in personality type to Chainsaw Man - the main 3 characters are basically a Denji, an Aki and a Power. The powers are also so similar, the main character has a demon in him and the supporting man uses animal spirits. The overarching story is to find pieces of the main baddie.
However, the characters in JJK are just so much more bland, plain, one-dimensional, and honestly just annoying. There isn't much compelling backstory, and you can't really find yourself rooting for the characters. Even the main character is really boring, and his reason to fight laughable. The villains (meant t…

I was pretty late to join the JJK train, so by the time I got around to watching the first season I was aware of its somewhat polarizing reputation among anime fans — some claim it's a fresh and exciting take on the longstanding Shōnen format, and others accuse it of being a bland rip-off of previous, better titles. As a result, I went in with pretty low expectations about plot and characters, and simply hoped that there would be some good fights.
And *damn* were there some good fights! Even with today's blockbuster budgets, I couldn't believe some of the stuff the animators were able to pull off: everything from the blocking, in-fight monologues, set pieces, and more felt so fluid and cohesive even as everything continuously ramped up in intensity, yet the show never became so overwhelmi…

THIS IS HOW YOU START AN ANIME!!! I think this might be the only 10 on my list. The opening theme is just an absolute banger along with the animation, and the openings go on to be amazing as you progress through the show.
Some people might see the sorcery/magic fighting as a simple or cliché concept, but the reality is those cliche's are always the most widespread and most popular themes, and JJK does a wonderful job of maximizing the sorcery fighting potential. They bring out the big guns right from the git go in episode 2 to give you a taste of what animation potential the studio is cooking with.
JJK also does a wonderful job with throwing in these weird little ticks that keep you interested. Whether it's panda bears traversing rooftops through the city or having to swallow fingers, J…

I have been infected with a mind virus, the only thing i can think about is JJK. Once again like every other anime I rate above 8, JJK S1 gripped me by the balls, I could not stop watching and ended up unintentionally binge watching it for hours. The fight scenes are immaculate not just in animation but also in strategy, fights are determined not on themes or emotions but on tactics. The story is amazing immediately I felt immersed into this world and understood what was at stake and our main characters role within that. Yuji himself is an excellent protagonists, he changed throughout the season and grows immensely. The relationships and bonds characters share are also largely developed and understandable.

Another truly terrible series with an uninspired and boring story, low quality and jerky animation, desperate attempts by the computer jockey wage slaves to hide their-I'm sorry, the Korean or Chinese wageless slaves they hired's terrible drawings using basic Final Cut effects and maxing out the brightness (all of which make your eyes bleed so badly, they just might need tampons), and zero reason to exist other than to milk money from easily manipulated and gullible fanboys with their parent's credit card or disability check to burn. It worked wonderfully for Demon Slayer, this series, and Chainsaw Man after all, so what does any of that matter? Who needs original ideas, good animation, or a reason to be invested when you can make cheap, astroturfed, cardboard characters that your paypigs…

What a start to an anime. Everything about it exceeds my expectations, and now I understand the hype. Jujutsu Kaisen is highly recommended for it's unique combat scenes, curse philosophy, and highly fluid animation. MAPPA did an outstanding job animating this season, to the point when I finished the first season, it motivated me to watch 4 episodes of season 2. It's even better when you watch it weekly. The characters are iconic and charismatic, standing out for their abilities and quirky personality tropes.
I would describe it as a mix of cartoon fun and intense action, it can even get tone deaf suddenly (especially with the post credits). While Yuji Itadori is the protagonist with a brutal storyline and complicated narrative, Satoru Gojo stands out as the star for his carefree confiden…

Jujutsu Kaisen was my favorite anime. From episode one itself, the amazing animation, fast action, and memorable characters grabbed me completely. What makes Jujutsu Kaisen such an exceptional anime is that it manages to perfectly blend action, emotions, and comedy without compromising on anything.
The animation quality is stunning, and each fight scene feels so dynamic. Moreover, the music and vocal dubbing take everything to another level and give rise to scenes that you remember even when the episode is over.
One of the things I like most about the show is that it features a wide variety of interesting characters. Each character has a very distinctive personality, motivation, and chemistry with the other characters around him/her, which makes you instantly fall in love with them.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a series that stands as a modern titan of the shonen genre, though it is arguably one of the most "overrated" and scrutinized shows in recent memory. It is a stylish, high-octane experience that feels like a polished evolution of the classics—specifically Naruto, a debt the series doesn't even try to hide. WILD! While it may feel like it "ripped off" the blueprints of its predecessors, it executes that formula with such visual ferocity that it’s hard not to enjoy the ride.
● Short Synopsis
Yuji Itadori (aka Naruto) is a high school student with freakish physical abilities who spends his days visiting his bedridden grandfather. His life takes a dark turn when he encounters Megumi Fushiguro (aka Sasuke), a "Sorcerer" hunting a high-grade cursed object. To save his friend…

Please don't slime me out but jjk is a painfully VERY average anime.
I have watched season 1, the movie. and watched halfway into season 2 (before dropping it).
Keeping this review short, but I honestly do not understand the hype at all. Very generic storyline along with basic characters too. Jjk to me personally has no substance at all to me. To me the only thing carrying jjk is good animation and hype moments.
Hype moments and good animation might be interesting to see, but if there is no substance to anything to the story and most characters, then what is the point of staying around?
jjk tried to build up a grand takeaway from its story but in later ep it just falls flat/ forgotten.
Only thing I will give it props for is Maki and Geto. They're really the only decent character is jj…

Jujutsu kaisen's fights are genius, theres a lot of strategies being incorporated into the fights which leads to satisfying conclusions in battles.
Usually, anime characters explains their abilities for the sake of the viewers information but if you look at it from the anime perspective it just doesnt make sense, but jjk's power system makes your ability stronger if you reveal it to your enemy. This allows users with simple techniques to reveal their ability before the fight starts so they have an advantage at the start, balancing the weight of the element of surprise from users with complex techniques.
I really like Yuji's character, very refreshing to have a main protagonist with a good moral while not being too much of a crybaby. While it isnt very obvious or abundant, there are som…

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen is, above all, a surprise—one of those that starts subtly and, before you know it, has completely hooked you.
I started watching when the anime was already around episode 20. Until then, I didn't give it much credit; it seemed like just another shounen among many. But giving it a real chance was enough to quickly change things. Without considering the later events of the story, this first season does an extremely competent job of introducing the universe, its rules, and its conflicts. Even without delving into the more complex plots that would come later, it manages to build engaging stories and captivating characters, maintaining interest from beginning to end.
The animation is, without exaggeration, one of its strongest points. It's not necessarily th…
