Full Dive: The Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life!

Introduction

Ten years ago, at the peak of the VRMMO development industry, a game titled "Kiwame Quest" entered the scene with potential like no other. Boasting a colossal total of 10 sexdecillion branches of possible story scenarios, this game pursued ultimate realism, ranging from humanlike NPCs to the perfect replication of all senses and physical abilities. But it soon became apparent that the game was too realistic, and the popularity of VRMMOs in general gradually began to plunge. At present, due to an accident a few years prior, the high school student Hiroshi Yuuki now immerses himself in full-dive RPGs as a form of escapism. After failing to acquire the latest version of his favorite game, Hiroshi stumbles upon a game shop and meets its beautiful clerk Reona Kisaragi who convinces him to buy a copy of Kiwame Quest so that they can play together. The first time Hiroshi plays the game, he marvels at the realism it offers. However, his astonishment is short-lived as he sets off a series of misfortunes, quickly realizing that the game is even worse than his already stressful life. Nevertheless, Hiroshi still finds himself logging on again despite his growing contempt for the game. With no do-overs in his current disadvantageous situation, Hiroshi only has one goal—clearing the game! [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This title was so esoteric, but it touched me to the very core. First of all, let me say that I felt like it was not too heavy on cliches. I'm saying that I "felt" like that because it may not be entirely true, but when I watching some series I don't try to specifically find any cliches. You only really see those when they pop up very explicitly, and in this title they didn't. The whole title was something that's rarely exploited. MC is certainly not strong, he's weak, but he's not all heroic or too fragile, no. MC is really just a reasonable guy. It was interesting watching him for the entire duration. The secondary main character, her being Reona, is actually quite good too. I loved this whole dynamic of "grown child with childish goals" pulling a high-schooler to play videogames with…

It's the most vermin-tier anime I've ever seen in my life. Anyone who gives it above a 5 is either a masochist or something like that, or straight-up vermin. Get a life, get a real job, get health insurance, and do something productive with yourselves. Anyone with even the slightest sense of humor would struggle to find this anime funny. It's practically impossible. The same type of joke gets recycled over and over: a serious conversation starts, someone suddenly says something completely unserious, the main character starts shouting, and we're apparently supposed to laugh. Then you get another 200 variations of the exact same joke. Consider it a test: if you laugh even once, you're vermin. And if you're reading this as a fellow piece of vermin and thinking, "How can you possibly not fi…

The story, the hilarious plot twists, the humor, the characters — simply INSANE. I discovered this anime by chance on Crunchyroll and started watching it out of boredom. And what can I say… after episode 4, I was fascinated. I really love comedy anime where you can smile and laugh, but I also don’t like it when things become too unrealistic. This anime balances everything perfectly and gives us insight into both worlds (real life and virtual life). The main character is obviously struggling with problems, and things are just as bad for him in the VR world — especially with the shopkeeper constantly making fun of him. This is not your typical isekai anime where the main character enters another world overpowered or becomes insanely strong right from the start. In both worlds, the protagon…

Really really annoying. The first few episodes were barely good, but at some point, the anime took a nosedive. Urine´s joke and its consequences was repeated for almost 4 episodes ... about 50 minutes of listening to the same thing. And the worst part was that the story needed it to move forward. Also, the protagonist is an insufferable useless character. The author creates situations where it seems like he is going to learn and move forward, but it never happens. He always fails, always cries, is always bullied, always allows others to treat him badly, and always has to be saved by someone else. He never does anything in the 12 chapters. It's hard to see it

A friend from XIV was talking about this, i watched it all in 1 night and ridiculed them for watching this in the first place. 7/10 would pee myself for Mizarisa and let her cut off my legs or whatever she wanted. Absolutely feels unfinished though, I feel robbed that this ended the way it did. A second season was 100% lined up but it just never came. Bummer bro. Art was fun, characters were fun, Reona has tits like a cow, so like, if you're into big faerie titties then this is probably you're jam. Pretty easy watch though as long as you're not some like stuck up prude or something.

This anime really needed a season 2. The amount of loose ends is worse than a woolly sweater in a thunderstorm. The protagonist is a glutton for punishment, and the viewer is punished for not getting a proper wrap up. At least he keeps choosing to go into the game, instead of reincarnating isekai style. Recommend to self: Was fun, but don't watch again. Life's too short. Recommend to others: It's worth it for the crazy girls alone. But if you're not into fan service and the MC getting a reality check, maybe stay clear? Definitely don't watch, if the MC needs to be overpowered from the start in order to be enjoyable. Art style is generic. Story is unique - in that the power fantasy is ruined. Characters are surprisingly varied, but lack time to truly develop.

A shitty anime based on shitty VRMMO, what did I even expect. Watched the whole thing in 4x speed because I couldn't bear to watch it in normal speed, that's how painful it was. It tries to be funny on every moment but ends up being so cringe that it's hard to watch. Sadly, not a single moment was funny, even though the premise of the anime was promising, it was just all downhill after that. While the art style and character designs are fairly normal, the story is itself very incoherent, changing tones to being very serious, and back to being "funny". It just can't decide what kind of anime it wants to be. Based on the MC's character design (Kirito's clone), this was most likely created as a satire anime, but jokes and funny moments are not funny at all. Watching it just made me lose the f…

Character are really good they do what they are supposed to do like one of the character is supposed to be annoying and stupid and it does that job well it annoyed me so much but it was a good character. mc back story was stupid and hilarious af story is unique if it gets a new season it will be nice. the only complaint i have is that they left us on a cliff hanger

I was originally drawn to this anime because it was animated by the people who did Uzaki-chan and it was created by the person who made cautious hero. I accounted for both factors and concluded that this would be an interesting watch. In the beginning the story really interested me. The concept of the anime isn’t something viewers would be new to, but the setting was a nice change up. In this world where fully vr games are norm and good games are sussed out from the bad ones. We find the main character delving into this comedic journey of subverting your expectations by being incredibly unlucky and making all the wrong decisions. It’s something I really enjoyed but grew to have a distaste with since you always knew that things weren’t ever going to go the main characters way. I enjoyed t…

This story is about a young guy dealing with the guilt of a small mistake he made in the past. To escape the tough realities of life, he finds comfort in the world of virtual reality gaming. But everything changes when he discovers an old forgotten game known for being so realistic it blurs the line between virtual and real life. What makes this story really stand out is its originality. It's not the usual isekai where characters get transported to other dimensions, nor is it about being trapped in a video game. The storytelling is top, the artwork is also great. As someone who loves good stories, I can confidently say this is one of the best pieces of entertainment I've come across in the past decade.

This is a perfect example of how a great concept could be foiled by mediocre character writing. It has a bratty entitled MC who has some growth. But how he became so entitled is never explained. The concept is of a hyper realistic full dive VR game. They take the realistic part literally. The other characters are all good. But writer forgot that usually people stick for the MC or some important recurring character. The MC is irritable to put it mildly. The story and world building is great. But the MC reduces it from a great anime to a hard watch. Writing - 6/10 Animation - 7/10 Concept - 8/10 Character and world building - 8/10 Character designing - 3/10 (-5 for the MC, the rest are good) Overall an average watch which is different from typical game anime.

I think the best thing about this show is its OP. It’s quite good. Outside that however? Not that big a fan of this show. Maybe over time with more time spent on character development and such I could get into it, but I was just so uninterested in this show. I think this show sort of fucks around and does so little for so long and per episode that by the time that maybe it’s getting better, the season ends. Maybe fans of the source material enjoy that but I just could not deal with the humor or plot stuff. Felt lowbrow and just not my thing. Also just… a lot of the characters both in terms of design and voice direction irritated me. I was generally not having a good time listening to this show. It did about fine for what it was in terms of animation I guess but I can’t really commend i…

non spoiler review: This anime is a cynical comedy on virtual reality anime. With tons of comedy sketches with the MC being the straightman in the show. This anime is not for people who want epic fights or people who loves to get hyped when an MC gets an upgrade or power up. If you love gintama, isekai ojisan, grandblue or kazuma's straightman comedy then this anime is right up your alley. Story is unpredictable and unique Art style is a mix of grandblue and isekai ojisan Characters are 1 dimensional but the way they mix and interact with different characters makes them fun to watch

Kyuukyoku Shinaka shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu yori mo Kusoge Dattara, also known as Full Dive RPG, is a comedy and fantasy anime series that follows the adventures of high school student Hiroshi Yuki in a fully immersive virtual reality game called Kiwame Quest. Despite the game's promises of being the ultimate next-gen full dive RPG, it turns out to be even worse than real life, as Hiroshi discovers the hard way. Full Dive RPG has several strengths, including its humor, likable characters, and excellent animation quality. The show's unique premise of a virtual reality game that's worse than reality adds a fresh perspective to the gaming-themed anime genre. The character development is also noteworthy, with Hiroshi's growth and self-discovery being a key aspect of the show. The anime…

Full Dive: The Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! short review by Ja025: Refreshing: Unlike the standard RPG settings I saw so far this one portrays maybe a more realistic experience one would get in RPG (as sad as that sounds). Working 9 – 5 (or returning from school) just to then go on a quest to kill a demon lord would probably not end well. This also seems to be the core muse for comedy in this anime. Notable: The dark comedy present in this anime suited me very well but might be off-putting to some people. Disappointing: Main character often feels like he is just going with the flow, almost trying to melt in with the background, avoid conflict or just give up (can’t say I blame him though, the first time he tried to stand up to this RPG world and figh…

I'd give this a solid 7.5 rating. It's good. It doesn't deserve to be rated below 7 on MAL imo. Also, the storyline is strong & full of unpredictable twists in every episode. So overall, it was still very entertaining. This anime is being criticised for the 'not-so-good' comedic timing/voice acting. And I agree, if the at times unnecessary screaming by the voice actor was not there, the anime would've been even better. This anime needed better voice acting, like in the anime-"So I'm a spider, so what"-where the voice actress completely carried the anime with her comedic timing & skills. But as someone who hasn't seen the LN/Manga, this anime is still pretty enjoyable. Hence, a good watch.

"Full Dive: The Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life!" Genre- Action, Adventure, Comedy, Harem, Fantasy, Shounen. Escape from real life is always easy, as that just eases the pain that we are feeling and gives us a reason to keep running away from things that we should face head-on. It becomes a means for our luxury and teaches us how to live an easy life by running away from problems and becoming a quitter from the smallest to the biggest things that lay in front of us. Hiroshi Yuki chooses to escape from his past after an incident during the track meet in his 1st high school semester. He picks up gaming as a hobby and gets fully indulged in it by having games as a means of escape. After getting ripped off at a game store by a girl, he gets home and plays for…

Why is this anime getting so much hate? With an average rating of just over 6, I'm surprised it got this much hate. I think it was a great breath of fresh air from all the garbage overpowered MC's. Yeah it's cliché, yeah it repeats some things a bit. But I quite enjoyed it. He's a complete loser and everything in real life is mirrored into the game. However, the story was pretty fun. The twist at the end was something I didn't see coming either. Also, to see the MC slowly start to grow and find something to strive for in life was pretty cool too. Just shows that when you have no goals, life is just boring and stale, of course his goal is to complete a video game but it started to create positive benefits for him in the real world. I admit, his motivation to keep playing at the beginning…

I didn't understand the point of people saying that the anime is 'cringe', in the beginning it really is, the 12 episodes are exactly about that, as the protagonist was shit and evolved over time, it seems that they didn't even bother to watch the whole thing, yes the animation is mid and has a lot of unnecessary ecchi, but for me the story stands out above all that. For me it is one of the best examples of the saying "never judge a book by its cover". Seeing how the protagonist improves as a human being and the 'npcs' too made me want to be better too, so I give this anime this rating despite all its flaws. Sorry for the bad english.

The people reviewing this poorly and saying the MC is cringeworthy/unlikeable etc., don't realize the entire first season is build-up. He will become more likeable and heroic as the story goes on, if it gets any more seasons. From what I've read of the LN so far, this series will get very good once it has a chance to get going. If you like worldbuilding and such, this anime will be good for that, but until it is continued, we don't get much out of just this season. But I can see where it's going, and I very much like the direction I see it heading.
