What? An anime with my name?
That was literally my first reaction when I discovered this show. Honestly, I only started watching Gabriel DropOut because of the protagonist's name, after all, it’s not every day you come across an anime that shares your name, haha. And even though I started watching for a totally silly reason, I ended up finding a really lighthearted, fun comedy that knows exactly the kind of experience it wants to deliver.
The concept behind the anime is basically taking elements of Christian mythology and dropping them into a school comedy setting. We follow Gabriel, an angel who descends to Earth with the mission of studying and helping humans, only to become practically the opposite of that. After discovering the joys of online gaming, Gabriel completely abandons the i…

This anime tells a story about angel and demon. They're actually living here on earth, blending with us all learning about human behaviour. Your first thought may be angel vs demon battle stuff, but no. Note how I write it as angel and demon but not vs, because this is a fell good cute girls doing cute thing anime. Everyone might have a little grunts here and there, but overall its just funny moments on top of funny moments. They really nail the comedy genre because I always catch myself laughing on every episode.
The story itself is almost non existent. You just need to watch the first episode, which is the premise, and then you can decide if this is good or not. From that point onward, every episode isn't connected at all. As far as I remember, there is only two episode connected with e…

- hated the mc (Gabriel)
- Raphi is ok
- the demons carried hard this show
- not many jokes, could've been more fun to watch...
M.V.P. goes to Satanichia and Vignette was my favorite character.
the show is overall "ok" if you ignore Gabriel...
honestly, even supporting characters and background shadows were more pleasant than this mc 😛 average slice of life with a little bit of supernatural to it, the story is nothing unusual and somewhat predictable but has some funny scenes and Satanichia strikes some really fun moments when she shows up
i think this show is a solid 6 because the demons make up for Gabriel's lack of everything personality.

I am typically not well versed when it comes to CGDCT or comedy anime. I mostly started watching it for that one clip with Gab and a gun. Otherwise, Gabriel Dropout seemed generic by the looks of it. While some of it was, the added themes and art style made it worth giving it some consideration.
Gabriel Dropout’s story is of very basic premise and is seemingly typical for a slice of life anime. While it still pertains to a school setting, its main differentiator is the added mythological aspect of heaven and hell. The story revolves around distinct personalities of two angels (Gab and Raphi) and two demons (Satania and Vigne), whose characteristics largely contrast with the roles they were supposed to fulfill when sent down to Earth. As such, most of the plot will revolve around this gag.…

First, let me say that this anime is not good. That’s right, it’s not good. Yes, it features one of the best characters in all anime, Satanichia Kurumizawa McDowell, a genius archdemon who controls the show every time she’s on screen with her absolutely demonic deeds and nefarious exploits. But then you have the other characters. While Satanichia Kurumizawa McDowell excels in every scene she’s in, you also have Raphiel, one of the absolute worst characters I have ever seen. What is her trait? That she’s a sadist? That’s it? Yes, that’s it. She likes to see others suffering, including Satanichia Kurumizawa McDowell. She never does anything amusing, heartwarming, or cute. She just disrespects Satanichia Kurumizawa McDowell, forces her way into her home, or tries to trick her as if she were a…

The anime shows the daily life of a group of girls, made up of two angels and two demons who do not act according to their characteristics; It's a fantasy and comedy story that's very simple to understand. It has implicit subthemes such as yuri and bullying; It does not have ecchi and explicit romance. I didn't find the characters forced, it was just a little confusing with the angels acting wrongly, while the domonias acted correctly; If you watch all the episodes at once it will seem a little repetitive; Finally, for those who want a no-strings-attached comedy, Gabriel DropOut is a recommended anime!

Young angels and devils are coming to Earth living among humans and visiting high school there, spreading their influence. This is how it is supposed to go from the perspective of plot, until we drop this idea and make it a funny comedy about not so angelic angels and not so devilish devils with slice of life elements coated in cutesy loli artstyle and some magical twists.
All the cute girls (doing cute things) comedy types may sound generic and similar to each other. But sometimes, there is no need to be innovative or original. Sometimes, formulas, tropes and basic elements work well; even very well, and that might be the main appeal of this show.
Four main characters, two angels and two devils, who become friends, are having a blast together throughout their whole first year on Earth.…

Gabriel DropOut is something you can watch half-heartedly, not fully paying attention. It's a slice of life with a supernatural twist, but it doesn't feel as good as some of the best slice of life out there. The characters don't seem interesting enough, and I think characters are the biggest reason you'd enjoy an anime like this. Only two of the four main characters are interesting to watch, and that is definitely not enough.
The whole concept could be fun, but the end result feels quite boring. It's something that's good to watch while you're doing something else, but there's not really a reason to completely focus on it when you're watching.

Without question, Gabriel Dropout was one of the best comedic anime to have come out back in 2017.
The idea of angels and devils coexisting in a school like this is not new, but the humor for this was not just clever, but the wit surrounding the characters were some of the best that I’ve seen from the main troupe of Gabriel, Vigne, Satania and Raphael. The first half of the anime had Gabriel turning into a trustworthy angelic girl that likes to do good deeds into a NEET that does not care much for schooling while having Vigne acting like the good devil that is not really a devil.
Satania drives it home with trying too hard to act like a devil only to fall flat on her face while trying to devilish things. Raphael, on the other hand, looks like an angel but is clearly shown to have underha…

Gabriel DropOut is a comedy anime about 2 angel girls and 2 demon girls who are living life among the humans. We have Gabriel, an angel girl who was initially a really nice and sweet girl, who turned into a lazy slob after discovering gaming. Then there's her best friend Vignette, who despite being a demon girl, is a really nice and sweet girl. Then there's Raphiel, an angel girl who is a sadist. And finally we have Satania, a demon girl who acts like a chuunibyou and is by far the most entertaining character of the show. So as you can see, it's about 2 angels who don't act like angels, 1 demon who doesn't act like a demon, and 1 demon who sort of does actually act like how she's supposed to.
No real story here. It's mainly just those 4 girls and their interactions, as well as showing the…

Another one of Doga Kobo that is interesting for its humorous and adorable characters. The comedy can be easily appreciated, so I can guarantee the amusement in this show enjoyable, at least for me. Other than that, the show has a light story that’s focused on the daily interactions of the characters and their relationship, especially when you wouldn’t expect that they are demons and angels who came to study in the human world for ‘experience’.
Gabriel is the main protagonist of the story, but she is not your generic good protagonist. She lived as an angel who is highly praised for being a model angel in heaven. She had to graduate and continue her studies on the realm of humans to be a full-fledged angel soon, however that is not how it turned out. Behold, her transformation from ‘caring…

Im not a huge fan of this anime. All of the episodes are just repeat recycle.
This anime just only about Angels are threats and Devils are peaceful.
The only character i considered being the best is Vignette. Gabriel is basically Umaru without chibi transformation, Satania is honestly trying to be the intimidating one, but becomes boring if you look at her in a different perspective point of view, Raphiel is the same as Gabriel when it comes to making fun of Satania, but does better in academics than a lazy angel like Gabriel. I lonly like the anime’s art style, on-par with other animes. It gets boring when you watch it further on. Again, the episodes are just the same with different visuals. Same kind of behaviour, and bullying. As much as I try to adore the sounds, the OP and ED is ok,…

Gabriel Dropout at first caught my attention due to me delving deeper into comedy and CGDCT (Cute girls doing cute things) animes. Having seen New Game! which is another offspring of the studio Doga Kobo, gave me the feeling that this anime might also be promising, so I gave it a try. I am sorry to say I felt utterly let down even while not having many expectations.
Art & Sound:
The peculiar and noticable art of Doga Kobo is something I personally like due to the cutesy characters, its vividity and it doing a good job at conveying the emotions it wishes, so artwise I can't really complain.
Concerning the sound, the OP and ED were fitting, but I can't physically strain my brain enough to remember a moment where BGM would have been all that impactful, then again, this is a comedy so its no…

Gabriel DropOut is one of those shows to make your brain go to standby mode. The stories are pretty self-contained and you could watch every episode in any order you like. You have a beach episode, a new year episode, a few school episodes, some dedicated to a particular character and so on, take your pick
Gabriel is an angel that goes to Earth but instead of learning more about humans get lost in an endless session of gaming, slacking and eating crap. Vignette, a very nice demon tries to help her in anyway she can but Gabu is quite a slacker. Satania just wants to beat every angel she meets and acts as the more comedic part of the group. Raphiel is just there to see the world burn and enjoys every second of it.
It's interesting to notice how there are quite a few shows where you have a…

Gabriel Dropout
A very sympathetic and pleasant comedy that was definitely able to entertain me. But fans of the "comedy" genre shouldn't expect too much here.
The anime has a solid humorous start and spread around the episodes, some quite creative jokes and scenarios. But on average it is quite meager. On average, an episode has 2 solid jokes and there were about 2-3 really funny moments throughout the anime. Most of the jokes are mostly based on clichés and everyday scenarios, as is a bit of exaggeration. It always fails because of the implementation. I must honestly say that Satania and Raphiel carried the humor of the series all by themselves, the other characters contributed almost nothing.
There is no real main storyline here, there should be no hope, it is a simple comedy. The on…

This anime is truly a gift to my humanity and this is what got me into anime in the first place. This anime is a true masterpiece.
First off, let's start with the opening. The opening itself is catchy as heck (this is my first review so I dunno if I should swear or not), and is so fast-paced and chaotic... but that's what helps make it so good! My favorite anime opening.
Then we got the characters. Gabriel is basically just like me: A lazy shut-in who loves to play video games. Vignette, Raphiel, and Satania (the other 3 mains) are also extremely likable, with Raphiel as my favorite character of the 4.
Then we got the storyline. The storyline doesn't really follow along a plot, but it's a slice of life anime, so you'd kind of have to expect no plot from it. All the segments truly fit with…

Yeah, I didn't really enjoy this show that much.
Story: 3/10
It's basic, and nothing really happens. Angels and demons come to Earth and do everyday stuff, with the titular angel becoming a shut-in NEET. I don't know, it was very forgettable, and works more as a "Cute girls do Cute Things" type show. At one point they build up a plot that does seem somewhat interesting in episode 9 or 10, but they drop that right away by the next episode. IDK, not a whole lot can be said. The story wasn't good.
Art: 6/10
Its fines. It's cute. Nothing too great, nothing too egregious. It was fine.
Characters: 2/10
The characters kinda ruined this for me. All of them were extremely basic and ranged from insufferable to decent. To me, Gabriel was one of the most unlikeable main characters that I've seen in…

This anime isn’t anything that stands out.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love this anime and believe it’s full of great ideas. However, the creators’ way of going about it isn’t the most creative. There are many stereotypical tropes in this anime, from pure fan service scenes all the way to empty characters who are simply there to fulfill a certain ‘role’ that the anime pushes onto its characters.
I do believe this is very underrated, but at the same time it isn’t something that would pop into mind when I’m writing a list of recommended animes to a friend. Sure, I may remember it later on and mention it, but it isn’t something that I think about in a high sense.

What a fun play on the devil vs angel cliché. It’s fun to see angels be so demonic and vice versa. If you haven’t noticed yet, this anime sparked the trend that was Satania’s constant torment. It’s fun to see all the characters crazy stories and interactions.
Story – 6
Yet again, not a very story driven series, a basic plot about the difference between demons and angels. It mainly focus’ on the fun moment s and stupidity of the characters. It’s pretty fluffy.
Art – 7
I like the style, more cutesy animation compared to realistic. It’s fluid and has some great reactions and quick animation. A perfect example of this is the moment where (*Spoiler* Satania gets fucking destroyed by a door) the animation is fluid and amusing to view.
Sound – 8
Jeez, this opening be hitting good. Love how sty…

The only reason to watch this anime is to get some easy comedic entertainment. The story has absolutely no depth and every single character can be described in a single word, without any character development whatsoever; the characters get introduced to the viewer and that's how they act until the end.
The entire anime felt like the first 1-2 episodes: you get to know the characters and the entertainment comes from learning their quirks. This is however all Gabriel Dropout has to offer. There is actually no plot; it just floats on for 12 episodes and then it ends. For me, there wasn't the urge to watch yet another episode even though I know it's late and I should go to sleep; there wasn't anything to look forwards to in the next episode.
The only reason why it might be okay to watch is be…
