An absolute juggernaut!
Do you like anime with simple plots and predictable events? Standard characters? Move along, this one's not for you.
It should have a "mystery" tag too. It's a complex story with many twists and turns, yet it flows so naturally with amazing music, visuals and characters. The slow pace and easygoing style works perfectly. The "quiet moments" are riveting.
Don't let the low score fool you, this is a terrific show. Well worth the investment, you DO have to pay attention!
Not really spoilers: When 5 friends in a small town/city have their summer break before their senior year? A new boy comes to live with his father. Touko sometimes sees visions of things she doesn't understand, while the new boy, Kakeru hears things he thinks are from the future. Are these connect…

Glasslip is a sweet, touching slice of life with an ensemble cast set in a seaside town. It follows a group of friends as they explore dating within the group (which had previously been off-limits) and encounter a mysterious newcomer whose motivations are unknown. The pace is slow, set in a never-ending summer, and there's a mystery as two characters are drawn together by their ability to see what they call "fragments of the future."
For some reason this series became something of a punching bag for redditors and MAL users. If you read the reviews on here, they're all extremely dismissive and as uncharitable as possible - they aren't really talking about the show, just saying "Hey, we all hate this show, right? I can make fun of it and no one will argue with me, right?" Glasslip's extreme…

Most of the audience has written negative reviews, I respect all of them.
But to be honest, I can understand this response as this is an Anime with a very Abstract theme. It's very specific and designed to align with a realistic point of view and emotions.
To understand anime we need to really think from the viewpoint of MCs. Touko and Kakeru are both very complicated characters in a very complicated situations and how they deal with their circumstances forms the crux of the story.
Once you relate to the story it really hits the mark and you realize how beautifully its been thought. A very Unique and Different anime that I have come across, It was really delightful.
Kakeru and Touko both the MCs have great depth and the bond shared by Touko and her friends has also been kept very reali…

Welcome everyone to this week's episode of National Animegraphic in which we bear witness to the discovery of a new species of anime. Living deep in the jungles of Otakuzil, this anime is one of the deadliest, thanks to its' poison that can kill a normal sized human in mere seconds. It's so deadly it can kill itself if it bites its' tail.
Glasslip, which was named after the man who discovered it, John McAsshole Glasslip, found its' way to the west and into my fucking room and as i'm writing these words i'm already dead so don't bother calling the paramedics..If you want to chat just buy a ouija board!
Let's find out more about this being that killed me dead within 13 eps then..It's the story of 5 kids and from what i gathered each one of them wants to bang the other or another or the sam…

This anime is very frustrating, i'm ending this thinking that there might have been some room here to make maybe something nice... PA Works, the art is nice and... that's it...
Despite the art there for some points, there is absolutely nothing in this anime, no story, no head no tail, no real drama, nothing to surprise you, nothing to give you some emotions, you just get absolutely bored, i just wanted it to end and it was difficult for me to watch more than 3 eps in a row per day,
The characters personality is incredibly plain and boring as well, especially the guy "MC" Kakeru, come on can you possibly think about doing a more boring character than this guy ? If you gave me for objective to write intentionally a boring character i wouldnt be able to beat this guy.
They wanted to bri…

So, when it comes to talk about "original anime" (which means animes that will be produced with none original material before), I can already see and expect a lot of problems with that, like:
- Poor plot description
- Soulless characters
- Slow story development (really slow, almost stopping)
Or even: an cliffhanger ending (opened ending; YES!)
And what about Glasslip? Well, I already talked about the major issues that could happen with original animes. I mean, clearly this is not exactly a thing, because I saw a lot of original animes that are better than this shit for sure (for example: AnoHana, Charlotte, Nagi No Asukara, Gurren Lagann, etc.). But, in the most of times, you'll need to pay attention to the word "original". Sometimes, it sounds like a great thing, but sometimes it can be…

The good news is - the art is amazing. The bad news is - that's pretty much the only good thing about this show.
I picked this one up because I was looking for something similar to NagiAsu and this show, de-jure, is similar - a love story with a twist of fantasy. It's a story about a transfer boy and a local girl who share a unique ability of occasionally seeing or hearing glimpses of the future and how it affects their lives and relationships. Sounds pretty sweet. Unfortunately the de-facto truth cannot be further away. The fantasy element is so miniscule to the point that it feels forced - you could actually completely take it away and nobody would notice. The problem is this element it the only thing which is supposed to set this show apart from any generic super-clichéd you've-seen-one…

So, I see many people have said real crappy things about this anime. Some of which i agree, but some i disagree.
This anime is made specifically for people who likes casual, relaxing and mildly wholesome romance story that has no real climax upon the relationship nor the storyline.
^ if you are the type of person who likes this, then you're in for a treat. If not, you'd be better off watching real heartwarming Romance animes like Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, Sukasuka, or Plastic Memories. They are personally the best wholesome romance animes ive ever seen. (BIASED, I KNOW LOL)
I enjoy the relaxing vibe it gives off, and some mildly cute and wholesome moments that each pairing shares.
The story's opening plot is okay, but its just that the story not going anywhere…

So to begin with, I will point out why this anime has so much of negative critics, like poor characters and no story stuff etc.
People upon reading the description quickly image the anime to be some sort of romantic drama with the boy and girl to be sharing some weird ability of their own, like in the anime where the guy named Okikura Kakeru and the girl Fukami Touko, where they can see or hear what is called in the anime 'fragments of the future', but the problem with people watching this series is that they complain how this thing gets almost no development or further explanation .I would like to point out that this part has nothing to do with the story of the anime as in the second last episode we get an insight of how it has almost no relevance with the original world and which I think…

Short review of GLASSLIP
A vaguely competently put together anime that’s about as compelling as a dead house fly
The meat of the story revolves around a group of 5 friends who are enjoying their youth before they meet some slightly awkward Kirito clone. This, for angsty tweenager reasons most 17 year olds would have moved past, causes the group to fracture and tension bubbles beneath the surface.
Unfortunately, this tension barely goes anywhere and serves only to make character interactions slight awkward and cringey rather than for any actual dramatic purpose. There is hardly any progress or character exploration through the show so this gets quite boring after a couple episodes and insufferable by the end.
There’s also a plot about the MC and Kirito sharing some “Fragments of the Fu…

I like how the genre is romance but the romance in this show is dog shit, a teenage boy could write better plot. The story line is also MAD CONFUSING, idek what kinda point are they even trying to point out its all over the place. The only good thing about this anime is the art but that doesn't even make up for anything. I also had to search up the meaning of this show and people were confused as well, some said "It HaS nO meaning". An anime with no good plot isnt an anime its just an art show. Do not watch this its a waste of time

Addressing the elephant in the room, yes the step-sister has feelings for her brother. And so, we start on an awkward path that will continue from the clumsy first five minutes of the first episode. The setup is all too direct in my opinion. The characters felt a bit too advertised at the beginning rather than slowly unraveled by the writing. It gave me the sense that the dimensions behind these characters are rather flat. Our main character is the cheery, naive Fukami Touko but she is technically introduced second to the cool and collected male MC, Okikura Kakeru.
The power to predict the future, are there any repercussions to such abilities?
Why do the two main characters have these abilities?
Why is this friend group so tense? It's a weird love triangle going on here.
A lot of prelim…

I really don't understand all the negative reviews and such a low score this anime has gotten. I kept wanting to watch more of it, ended up watching it all in a day. It messes with my heart which I enjoy watching anime that do that to me, which isn't too often, and it was a good story. It was really good until the final episode, where it leaves us hanging a bit, but that makes me think of the possibilities that could have happened and messes with my emotions once again. Really good anime overall and I really enjoyed it.

Okay it is time to give my opinion on this particular anime. I keep it as short as possible and without any spoilers, so that it wouldn't ruin the story, so as always, LET'S BEGIN.
First of all, I don't know really if I want to recommend this, since it was neither good or bad, and even if I did want to, I wouldn't know to who. Yeah, it's that kind of anime, the kind, where you watch it and don't understand what exactly you watched. Even when I finished it, I needed to read some comments to fully understand what happened and when you do understand, you'll know that the "ending" is not as bad. (That sentence is for those people who call it an awfull anime.)
So back to the reviewing part, it has a very mellow tone to it and combined with "a kind of" slow start, it might seem a bit boring and…

This anime could be classified as nonsense! A slice of life that I started to watch for the protagonist's theme making glass pieces but that's the least we saw her do. The story of years of friendship is shaken by the presence of a transfer student. Some rather forced conflicts arise. I do not know if for convenience but the characters have some difficulty expressing their feelings and inner conflicts and let the peak of conflict between friends reach to finally open their mouth to try to resolve the confusion. Anime full of amorous triangles, some even clueless.
Speaking of each character: 1) Touko - protagonist who should make beautiful pieces of glass, she is kind of covered, does not understand situations well and rarely moves to resolve misunderstandings 2) Kakeru - transfer student w…

This will be a short piece on my own opinion about this show. P.A Works has produced many original works in the past, like Charlotte, Angel Beats, and others. To start off, the art and music were splendid, the only true "good" things about this show. The music is catchy and enjoyable, and P.A Works never disappoints with their animation. Now, the worst part of this show is the story. I really wanted to like and understand the show, but with the horrendous writing, it was impossible. With an unexplained supernatural aspect, and pointless drama, love triangles and of the sorts. This just continuously takes away from each episode. As there always will be some pointless drama caused by simple reasons. I thought that you couldn't screw up writing a slice-of-life show, but Glasslip really surpri…

When I first started watching Glasslip there was only 3 episodes out and I thought it was a ok show with good visuals. I later (more than a year after) started watching it again, wondering why it had so bad reviews. And thenI learnt why:
Story & Characters: The story really never goes anywhere. In the beginning it looked as if it had a direction and purpose and could eventually get some emotional depth to entertain the people watching it, but I gave up on that aspect after episode 5. The big thing int the show, the "Future Fragments" never got a real explanation and was in the end deemed unimportant even by the two character that had been chasing them the throughout the whole series. The character relations also kind of suck, and they never do anything, so it can just be ignored.
Art & Sou…

Glasslip is a terror cast upon humanity by a studio called Netorare Works, no, I’m kidding, P.A. Works. And by terror, I’m revealing the twist that was never in the series… none of the humans in this show are actually human beings. They are something that scientology is ladling into our ears like old diarrhea and puts all of their other works to shame. P.A. Works may secretly be comedic geniuses, because this show is often hilarious but mostly uncomfortable to watch.
• If you thought David Lynch was the king of the popular sub-genre called surrealism then you would be sorely mistaken. Move over Dave, Junji Nishimura has taken your place because Glasslip was so fucking obtuse that I didn't have clue as to what was happening most of the time. Why are all Junji's pretentious nut-sacks? I mea…

Some anime is considered underrated. I would consider Glasslip to be underhated; in that more people should be aware of its existence and despise it accordingly.
I heard about this anime on forums online, from people claming it was the worst anime they had ever seen, and I decided to foolishly put the tales to the test. And it was so much worse than anything I could have imagined.
Glasslip is actually the worst anime I have ever seen in my life. Out of watching literally hundreds of anime, this is the one that prompted me to write a review.
I wish I could tell you about the story, but it is so bland, boring, and forgettable that I can't even remember a single character's name, nor do I want to.
The story begins well enough, I must admit for the first couple of episodes I didn't beli…

The art was good. The music was outstanding. The characters were good, pretty typical (minus the DD's and dumb girl--which I was happy to see for a change). I started out really loving this anime.
As indicated above, the beginning story in the beginning was unique, great, and different. I wanted to know what was happening in the story.
Then in turned into a typical teenage romance scenario when a group is involved and I was like, okay, I can accept this, not too unique but I liked the characters.
Then the last few episodes fell apart. They were too esoteric from where it had been going. It changed back to the original story line at a 90 degree angle doing 100 mph, then the last couple episodes took another 90 degree turn to the finish line. A finish line that I though was not in follo…
