Simply the best season of DxD, seeing everyone maturing made me happy but I was impressed by how Issei matured, he's the character who needed it the most and oh boy how he was done properly, the writing is clearly much better than the first two seasons.
Only thing I have to complain about is the animation, it has it's weaknesses and I really hope that if there's no season 5 in the works, at least they'll be remade, I am watching the Blu-Ray version but the animation is still pretty bad sometimes, so hopefully it will someday get a remake with much better animation, that's the only thing I can honestly complain about for this third season of Highschool DxD.

If you're here you know what you're in for. This isn't a series where you should pick it up midway through, so this review assumes you've watched the previous seasons and have a reasonable understanding of what kind of show it is and what has happened up to this point.
MOST of the same things you've enjoyed about the show up until now return, but I have a few nitpicks. As I said in my season two review, I personally enjoyed this show more on a smaller scale when things felt a little more interpersonal and less battle shounen esque, and it definitely has gone hard in the direction of the latter. The cast is enormous, there's a bazillion deities from unrelated mythologies and it feels like there's very much a case of "there's always an even stronger bad guy" syndrome. The fight scenes look…

Crank the lewdness up to 11. Still doesn't matter.
The lewdness has no degrading effects on the season and still isn't overtly sexual, so it just flows along with the last season. I'm glad to see there's been a slight expansion to the harem but also that Issei got the development beyond just that. It's still there, he's a perv until the end, but there are more mature and responsible things in his head. Mentally, emotionally and physically; his whole persona is becoming well formed. This is something I hoped to see by the end of the previous season, but it fell short. I was under the impression that it wouldn't happen by this season based on the setup going in, but I was thankfully wrong. This build is paramount to most anything else in the show.
The plot development, continuity of the pl…

What can I say? It's a favourite of mine that contains my favourite themes which is high school girls mixed with demons mixed with mythology? ehh it works for me the last one. Anyways it's a good continuation of the series with more of what you wanted.
As a personal favourite as a teen all I can say is it's what I like alot for good reasons too.
With you following the protagonist Issei who continues to protect the girls of all shapes and sizes he loves with his oppai dragon powers. The fight scenes are decent for the expectations of what you think you get with the show and comedy that keeps you entertained decently.
So if high school girls who're demons who fight n get saucy is your kind of thing you're looking for then this is the right show for you.

Sometimes less is more, and here, more is less.
Season 3 is bad, while it doesn't have some of the issues that Season 2 had, it has a host of new issues, which are arguably worse.
The problem with BorN is the story, too many elements are thrown into the mix, too many things are going on at once, which makes for an unfocused mess. Because it is a non-stop series of events, with so much being thrown at you, and so many new things being brought in, there is little time to really develop any of it, so there is no real depth here. That is why when one villain is introduced and exposed as the villain, because we have no connection to the character it does the cheap option of saying that they were behind 'it all' and yet it doesn't work, it didn't work in Bleach, and it doesn't work here. BorN…

Tetsuya Yanagisawa, the Storyboard Director for Seasons 1-3 of High School DxD, is a pure genius when it comes to managing a storyline from the light novel and implementing the altered version in anime form perfectly. Despite it not being a 1 to 1 copy from the Light Novel, it is the best DxD adaptation I've watched yet, better than the LN adaptation in my opinion.
Story: A rollercoaster of emotions- literally no dull moments whatsoever. Pacing is great and this one ticks all the boxes: Sadness, laughter and pure satisfaction. This applies to the rest of the seasons as well. Oppai scenes are a plus, I guess.
Art: Dated, a bit on the contrasty side of things but still perfectly watchable in this day and age. Eyes on characters look inconsistent at times but its no biggie. (Applies to pas…

Ok, DxD Born. Some people think that this is going nowhere and all Issei is doing is stringing all the girls along who all (BTW they all live in this super mansion that Rias had created) have affection for him.
People from Aasia's past are back and they intend to harm her. Issei starts to worry very much for Aasia and now Koneko who's started to take an interest in Issei after he helped her out. This is starting to affect Rias. How and why? She feels that even though they've got the hots for one another, Issei feels he's not worthy of having a relationship with Rias because of their Queen/Pawn status in the Gremory household.
Slightly disappointed by the ending of the series but it got fixed later.

The first half of the season was pretty dull for me and I even considered dropping it at some point. But I still decided to watch it, and boy 'o' boy, I do not regret my decision. The story really picked up from episode 8 according to me.Also the introduction of new characters throughout the season was pretty nice.
The fight scenes were very good , story was nice and all in all it was my favourite season from the franchise. I'd surely recommend everyone to watch high school dxd, because not only does it provide fanservice, but also the story and the fight scenes are pretty freakin' amazing.

As a person who's only ever watched less than 20 animes. ( Mainly cause many animes not my cup of tea. ) But High School DxD definitely had me pumped and excited for each following episode.
The genre for High School DxD is so very interesting for me, it definitely has a lot of sexual non-pg scenes. But that's what makes the anime so satisfying to watch as an audient. It is a mix and match of Action, Comedy, Love stories, and Sexy stuff. Which I personally think matches very well together.
The characters are mostly very well developed. There isn't anyone that's not thoroughly explained. Rias, Akeno, and Issei are very well-developed characters with rich characteristics you can't find anywhere else.
Overall an awesome anime with blazing hot characters. That will satisfy you as a watcher.

After we got down once again with that Demon x Degeneracy in the previous season, I really did have great expectations for High School DxD. High School DxD New was great, so naturally the third time’s gonna be a charm too, right? Well, not so much. To me, High School DxD is the shining example of how to do an ecchi-harem-battle series. The plot and characters coincide with the lewd elements to form something truly enjoyable. This ecchi-harem show sets itself apart from many others by being genuinely engaging with how it tells its story, but it seems as if this season did away with a lot of its previous formula. In the immortalized words of Justine from Persona 5, I say: “Not terrible, but not impressive.”
Once again, Studio TNK takes responsibility for bringing this season to the animated…

Season 3: World-Explore
This season had some issues, but great moments with the cast. Rias’ rage was spine-tingling and Issei’s rage was jaw-dropping, awesome, and haunting. The development Issei has is still in tact, and I like how he’s making time with the other girls (mostly) in his harem.
Harem continues to grow with Rias, Asia, Akeno, Koneko, Xenovia, and Irina. Akeno fully explains her relationship with her estranged father, learning about Koneko’s past, and Irina’s role within the group. I did enjoy Xenovia’s moments with Issei. The best scene with the harem was Issei getting “killed”. I was not expecting that, but everyone’s reaction was genuine and spine-tingling.
This show went more into the mythologies. Norse-mythology was a surprise for me (Loki, Odin, Rossweisse). Fallen Ange…

High School DXD BORN
STORY - this story was focusing Akeno and Koneko facing with two foes like Akeno think father is psychopath kill her mother and Koneko didn't like her big sister at all which is Kuroka. the Third Season was completely 3/10 with poor writing I kind of feel sorry about Diodora who he antagonist who fall in love with Asia and literally Issei ruining it for good evn he love with Ria why the heck would he love with Asia that he already has Ria and now Diodora who look so handsome he look better than issei with his kind personality and why would he get killed that way this poorly written story went out of control they ruining Diodora this is not fair.
ART - 10/10 same as first and second one.
SOUND- opening just fine but bad perspective endings 6/10
CHARACTER- only charac…

Season 3 of High School DXD is my least favorite. The annoying repetitive fan service is here once again that you become numb to it. The pacing is the worse, too many characters are introduced and forgotten about.Compared to the previous seasons, this one has the least compelling villans, They have paper thin motives and are dealt with so quickly that if you blink, you will miss it. The lore of the series just becomes more and more contrived that I simply just stopped following it. Overall this season recycles many ideas from the first two that it feels repititive. Even after a day of finishing it, I barely remembered what happened because it was that umemorable.

Note: I watched this season in the English dub and have read the light novels beforehand, so those factors will be included in this review.
High School DxD is a staple of high quality ecchi and harem anime within the anime industry, so it’s safe to assume that any continuation will be well-received and liked by many alike. Given that, even though I thoroughly enjoy the series as a whole, I have mixed feelings about season 3.
As someone who has read the light novels, I am upset that the studio strayed away from the novels’ intentions and have ended up butchering the source material to quite an extent. Many fans of the novels, including myself and the author himself were outraged by the studio’s decision to alter the course of the story to add anime exclusive content, episodes 10-12 are e…

As much as I would like to love this season, I cannot. The adaptation of this season is worse than the other seasons.
They ended it in their own way and not from the author's point of view. They ruined the entire story after changing things and putting and ending that did not happen in the novel. I admit, I love the light novel but seeing how they butchered this season hurts me.
As a reader who wants to get the adaptation of this series done right, this is a big letdown. Thankfully, season 4 or should we call it DxD Hero fixed the mess made by season 3. This might be the reason why author did not want the old studio to animate DxD again - because they butchered season 3 - and Passione did a good job.

I thought that season three picked up the awesomeness of season one but sadly there was just a glimps of it. Instead of focusing on the ecchi side of the show, DxD BorN heavily focuses on plot development and story building. I didn't expected it to abandon its awesomeness from season one.
The battles are better than in season two but at some costs. As in season one the fights were dynamic and the characters moved more, in season three there was to much static scenes. As for music and va it had the same good quality.
Its sad to see they dropped the boobs and panty shots in season two and three. On top of that, the story does develop but on the cost of the good relationship between the president and Issei. I felt that that part was a bit off. That was disappointing.
What's sad to see is t…

Not as good as previous seasons
The whole show just seemed cheesier somehow than its previous seasons. I'm trying to think of the correct way to explain it and the best I came up with is this:
If the original series was written in a style that would appeal to teenagers/young adults, and then they added all the nudity and sexual references to it to make it adult. The style of this one seems like it was written for the 8-12yo market, so even with the added sexual references etc, the characters, story and whole premise come across as juvenile.
Artwork:
Most of the characters are similar enough looking to the previous seasons, with a few notable exceptions like Kiba. Overall, it wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be.
What did annoy me though, was that all the girls have got even larg…

tl;dr: Another solid season of Highschool DxD that does essentially everything you'd expect it to as well as you expect it to.
This is a continuation of Highschool DxD New that mostly carries forward the plot threads that were left hanging as it ended, though to some degree, it feels like its beginning to get kind of convoluted and bloated. The overarching plot seems to reveal what the goals of the villains, the Chaos Brigade are. However, the relationship between the main villains, Vali and company, and the protagonists seems kind of bizarre. At times, they're portrayed as rivals, enemies that are not that bad but are still destined to be clashed with due to various circumstances, while at other times they're portrayed as terrible people. This isn't helped by the fact that the Old Satan…

It's not funny.
BorN suffers from the grave offense of what I call "miscalculated escalation," which unfortunately is just as big a problem in TV as haphazard genre-shifting. In tl;dr fashion, it's the cinematic equivalent of premature ejaculation. Here, it's the rapid ramping up of Issei's power in a way that completely obliterates the ceiling of believability (relative to the fact this is an anime about fat cartoon tiddies).
First Issei is just a guy who loves boobies; then, he has a sweet arm that can do magic and stuff; that turns into a time-limited set of armor, along the way adopting the power to blast off women's clothes; from there he evolves into a super mega ultra giga turbo overblast nukatron armageddon apocalyptic colossus red dragon of supreme ass kicking that can utterly (…
