It isn't... bad, you can find traces of a good story beneath the quality of the anime. The plot itself is generic, nothing groundbreaking nor exciting. Which means the writing itself would need to do some hefty lifting to make a story like this enjoyable.
Well, this is not quite the case. I'd assume that the source material might have accomplished that task - but the adaptation is sloppy. I wouldn't outright label the studio as a chop-shop, but at the very least, is lacking. Budget aside, the storyboard is a mess, the dialog completely under-delivered the emotional moments that are supposed to be the show highlights.
A shame, it could have been a decent show, just not from whichever team that was chosen to make this adaption.

At its core, this twelve-episode anime is a fairly standard fantasy series with no major surprises—except for one thing: the protagonist, Dariel, is actually allowed to get close to his love interest, marry her, and even have a child. That’s still a bit of a rarity in this genre.
While intimate moments like kisses aren’t shown, there are at least some sincere, warm hugs that make the relationship feel believable.
Otherwise, the anime delivers exactly what the title promises: Dariel, a 30-year-old, is expelled from the demon army despite his outstanding work and must now fend for himself in the world. Along the way, he helps Marika, who, in gratitude, brings him to her village of Lux—and gives him a new purpose there.
The series focuses heavil…

This is another same old trash story, the kind you keep finding in low quality anime again and again. Nothing new Nothing risky Same boring formula.
A main character gets kicked out of his party because he is weak, not worthy, useless blah blah. Then suddenly life gives him free upgrades. New power. New luck. New girls.
If it’s fantasy, it becomes a harem.
If it’s romance, he still magically gets a girl.
This exact storyline exists in hundreds of anime, and this show adds nothing new to it.
Chillin' in My 30s After Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army is just another copy in this tired pile.
Guy gets kicked out. Wanders around like a lost NPC. Saves a girl in a jungle. Becomes strong for no real reason. End of effort. End of creativity.
That’s literally the whole plot
Other than this…

In my opinion was the best non harem non isekai good and simple with a decent story anime!
so.. this anime was the perfect combination .simple and accurate
To be more precise:
- we have a loser concept like an isekai MC but then it appears more like just a guy in his 30's who discovers he is enogh powerfull to take care of himself.
- Then we have some romance some comedy some action .
- The romance was perfect scene , a guy and a girl who likes eachother and don't hide the fellings,it was just like how adults handle the love situations -Quick story forword without scenarios who last 2-3 episodes🤣
- The action was good they gave us some "epic" fight scenes
- the comedy implanted between the frames was hilarious some of them more or less
-the story is simple and the plot is twisti…

In short: Good. Not amazing, but good.
If you want something deep, fast-paced, or groundbreaking, skip it. But if you watch it at your own pace, without overthinking, it’ll entertain you.
Simple plot, wholesome vibes, and chill pacing, perfect for when you just want to relax. There’s a bit of fan service, but nothing crazy. The MC is strong, but not a “cold-blooded genius” or a “saintly hero”. He’s just an adult enjoying life with a few overpowered perks. It’s more about his daily life and bonds with friends and family than epic battles or complex drama.
The art is surprisingly good, and some fight scenes are fun to watch. But… in my opinion, the battles lack purpose or real motivation. Sometimes it feels like the show just thought, “Why not throw in some action here?” You could skip som…

"Chillin’ in My 30s After Getting Fired from the Demon King’s Army" ::::::: now that’s a title that promises both laughs and low-stakes fantasy comfort, and it mostly delivers… if you know what you're signing up for.
This anime is what you'd get if you mashed together a fantasy RPG setting, workplace burnout, and a slice-of-life redemption arc, then sprinkled it with budget animation and an emotionally repressed protagonist. And weirdly… it kind of works.
The story follows Dariel, a former soldier in the Demon King’s army who gets unceremoniously fired and stumbles into a peaceful human village. Instead of vengeance or drama, Dariel decides to vibe chop wood, help locals, and accidentally become the strongest guy around after the gildmaster test. It's basically fantasy self-care.
But le…

Let's talk about the story first. To be honest, the premise itself isn't interesting and tends to be pretty cliché. It's about a guy who gets kicked out of a group because he's deemed useless, but he's actually incredibly vital – and you know there are tons of anime with that exact setup. However, what I really liked about this anime is its pretty good execution of the story. It doesn't get boring; some parts had me laughing because they were so funny. But some moments were so intense that they kept me glued to the screen. Still, don't expect a fresh story, because honestly, the plot itself is pretty ordinary. What makes this anime engaging is entirely its execution.
After talking about the story, of course, we move on to visuals and other aspects. Visually, I'd say it's just okay. Nothin…

It's Average but enjoyable, it lacks anything to truly make it stand out but it's story is decent enough and I do appreciate the satisfying way of writing. It never endlessly pushes things forward but often quickly resolved them and characters aren't kept in the dark for ages.
Whenever someone new appears who you as a viewer would probably want the MC to fight that likely happens immediately even in the same episode most of the time. There's a few weird or vague things though here and there but nothing too jarring.
The choreography could use some serious work. Sometimes it's okay but other times it's down right horrific.
Music is fine, nothing special but not terrible.
The animation is pretty good. Voice Acting is also good.
It's fairly funny overall, the intro is kind of bait. Some charac…

Chillin’ in My 30s is a shallow and sometimes illogical anime, but at the same time, it’s oddly interesting. The fanservice is used in good taste, the storyline develops slowly but steadily, and there are a few other elements that make it worth watching. In my opinion, the anime could have benefited from deeper world-building and a more fleshed-out plot—but it’s a comedy at its core, and it was clearly meant to stay lighthearted, even if it had the potential to be more.
The animation is decent. For something released in 2023, it still holds up well. Don’t expect anything breathtaking visually, but it gets the job done and looks good enough for what the show aims to be.
Overall, if you’re looking for a light fantasy anime with mild story development and a bit of fanservice here and there,…

I rate this 6.9. It wasn't bad, but i don't feel it deserve to be rated 7+. For similar genres i feel 7+ is when the plot and execution is good. While i feel the execution of this anime is pretty good, the plot is a bit stale.
Personally, i consider anime similar to this to the isekai/trash anime category, which i don't mean in a bad way. I quite enjoy these kind of anime. You know anime that could be without any real plots, OP MC, chill, etc.
For this anime i appreciate that it's not overly cringey. Many anime of this category tend to be overly cringey. While there are some cringiness, i would say it's very minimal.
When it comes to the animation, there's nothing to complain. Anime of this category can have wacky animations sometimes. But didn't noticed anything that was annoying or d…

Despite the “Second Life” in the Japanese title, this anime isn’t an isekai. It features Dariel, a former high ranking soldier in the Demon King’s army, that was suddenly fired after his former boss retired. After that he wanders into human lands and due to various circumstances becomes an adventurer. The first half of the anime embodies the “slow life” in the title pretty well, as at this point he becomes overpowered and simply lives a relatively peaceful and happy life. He gets into battles, but is able to easily resolve them. There’s no harem, but there’s very easy relationship development with a single heroine, Marika. It’s a solid enough cozy anime, but nothing too special.
The second half goes in a different direction and takes itself much more seriously. One of the main themes expl…

It’s easy to go in not expecting much. This is your run of the mill isekai.
However, as a “feel-good” anime, this is one of if not the best. It’s not without its holes. There’s a few plot points that get forgotten along the way. Perhaps it was rushed, or lost its focus, but the running theme of world peace and happiness continues to evolve.
Every character is lovable, and every chapter is closed in a satisfying way. My only complaint is the lack of time we get for the many fun lovable characters which I chalk up to the story being crammed into 12 episodes.
All in all, it’s a fun, colorful adventure that doesn’t try to do anything new, but ends up feeling nuanced in an era of anime that all try to stay exciting with twists and dramatics.

Possibly one of the best animes to achieve what it was going for in its genre. Once again, a straightforward plot but with a unique MC from the usual ones you find in an isekai with (over)powered leads.
This is a feel good, wholesome anime, with an MC that is likeable for nearly all. The anime relishes in its point that changes can be made with enough genuine effort, whether to a small village or to the characters in the story. The development is one that will leave you with a simple smile.
I came to this anime in search of overpowered leads, yet I am glad that it was more than just that which left me with joy after the finale.

If you're looking for a loving-caring MC without disgusting polygamy harem type of shit, this anime is for you! I highly recommend you to watch
It doesn't countain something special, the plot is just like ordinary fantasy anime, but it's still a good show to killing sometime. I give it 7/10 for the MC who focus on one heroine even though there's Yuusha (hero) and a few people who are looking on him.
(A little spoiler)
One thing i don't like is the ending, it's not kicking in my heart because no one is die. If someone die or at least seriously injured, maybe the villain can learn how precious his previous life is. It's just fighting with talking-no-jutsu and everything is happy ending. You may find it boring

As the title suggests, this anime's pretty chill. Dariel, the MC, isn't some typical shouty protagonist who wants to desperately build a harem or to take over the world - he's just a 30-year-old man doing his best after being fired from his job. It helps that he's quite OP, but he doesn't make a show out of that at all. Even in the face of Marika, who I'm sure the great Satou Kazuma would describe as just being boobs, Dariel remains respectful. Not even Tits McGee bodyslamming her mountains into Dariel's face practically every episode is enough to squeeze a single drip of nosebleed out of the guy - Dariel's just some guy, and there's just something so refreshing about that.

Chillin' in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army was entertaining, but nothing extra. It's a little bit too much in emotions and there are in not the right place in the srory, like when they want to kill each other in the first minute, but they became best friends 2 minutes later whithout any reason..
It could be better, if they follow the manga, but they didn't and they have cutted out lot from the story and every fanservice part, even a kiss couldn't stay in the anime. It's a shame.
I hope they will change that in the second season, if not, I'm not sure I want to watch it.

Chillin’ in My 30s is easily one of the most wholesome media I have ever had the pleasure to watch and some of the most pleasantly spent 4 hours of my life.
I’m probably being a touch too dramatic, because it’s really got nothing special going on, but in a sense, therein lies its charm. It’s just really, really, really nice. I honestly haven’t got much to say. The title pretty much says it all. Dariel is a soldier in the Demon King’s army, but gets fired because his inability to use magic makes him useless. After aimlessly wandering through the forest, he encounters Marika, a beautiful village girl, and saves her from a pursuing monster. As thanks, she invites him to live with her family in the village. There he finds out that he is in fact not a demon, but actually a human, which explain…

This anime is a great balance of drama, tragedy, comedy, action, fantasy and romance, all at the same time, have to say I didn't come across anything that brings all of those genre as well as this title.
The story and overall plot of it is so well written and it's so easy to understand it's crazy. It definitely is really heartwarming title that for lovers of happy ends and situation solved in peace and rationally, will admire and generally fall in love with it. Character development is amazing (characters solely don't change a lot in appearance and strength, but mainly in their behavior, which is really suiting), it doesn't have way too many things happening in short period of time, even though each and every episode has something new in store for us.
The characters learn something new a…

A man is ostracized for his lack of magical talent and dismissed from his longstanding post in the demon lord's army. Only after settling in a remote and peaceful human village does the man begin to believe he has value again; only after his noted absence does the demon lord's army realize how valuable he was as an asset to them.
Seemingly just another ridiculously named fantasy story, this one has better execution than average. The main character has some backbone and nerve, not conforming to overtly juvenile or goofy behaviors that are rampant in the genre. There is a romance subplot and it does not take all season long to develop - that very neatly wraps itself up by episode six and with a family to show for it. It is not a thematically grounded story, as it shifts from elements of sli…

Chilling in my 30s is the perfect example of a slow-life anime done the right way. Don't take this the wrong way though. The kind of plot this show has is probably something you have already seen before many times: assuming you are already familiar with the slow-life isekai types. Yet, out of the many shows who have tried, none of them even come close to this one. In terms of storyline, characters and its faithfulness to its themes, Chilling in my 30s undoubtedly stands above the rest. These are the traits that can elevate an anime from a trope filled cliche mess already done a million times to a diamond in the rough that manages to keep viewers engaged.
However, despite its many positives the show is nowhere near perfect. As it is true for many other anime with 12 episodes the problem b…
