I can see why this anime is rated so low, I do not recommend this if you want to feel any joy at all.
Rather I would go into this expecting a deep psychological show if you were to watch it. As much stuff happens you could always ask “why would this character do this?” and see how a real person could be pushed to these actions while knowing how horrible it is.
With how many events played out and different character relationships developed I saw an amount of realism in it that you wouldn’t expect from something like this, many people end up in similar messy situations and not all of them end in sunshine and rainbows as these highschool drama stories tend to go.
Other than that, I found many of the sound design choices to be quite good as it conditioned you throughout the series and event…

this is the worst anime i watched animations are very underwhelming, the whole story is just bad the main character is the worst guy he could be, the whole cast is mostly very stupid or completely insane people it's not even funny it's just bad. Now if you want a completely insane anime and just react to the worst actions a guy can do and a whole female cast where one is more insane than the other ok otherwise just skip this animation is not even good artstyle kinda represent very well the anime whole world feels very depressing but please i don't reccomend watching this whole anime unless you just want a bad series that makes you feel bad with a whole stupid cast

This was a wild ride from start to finish, i vaguely remember seeing a summary of this anime way back like 8 years ago so i was curious to watch it again and man this was some real entertaining stuff. I won’t act like any of this was some real insane or secretly smart writing but i can really appreciate the nuance they give to makoto and some of the girls in certain parts of their characters, in short, everybody in this show is a really shitty human being whose continued interactions with eachother makes all their lives miserable until that very memorable ending, anyways very fun watch the characters are all such stupid idiots that it gets very funny would recommend!

Going in I knew it was going to have some gory elements so I was excited. I was expecting something along the lines of ReZero or Elfen Lied with the gore. No. This complete and utter dog poop. If you’re coming for some action and gore. Be prepared to watch 11 episodes of complete nonsensical romance, if you can even call it that. The MC does a great job at making the viewer uncomfortable, from episode 1. Every other female character has 1-3 brain cells on a good day. That’s besides the point, the anime is BAD, the gory elements don’t happen until the last 5 minutes of episode 12. So to get to the interesting part, you gotta dig through 11 episodes of steamy sewage. Terrible.

Don’t listen to the tourists. They’ll try to moral police the life out of every niche anime genre they discover. If you’re sick of the same recycled childhood friend romance slop being shoved down your throat, I strongly recommend giving this series a shot. The art style is very much contemporary to its time period and has aged surprisingly well. The character development could have been better, sure, but honestly, I’m not complaining. At least this series actually tries to be something different instead of serving the same generic romance garbage we’ve seen a thousand times. Go for it guys

This show is kind of infamous for having morally reprehensible characters, and I get that, but also, it is really fun to hate them. Everyone is a messy bitch in this show, especially Makoto, who I may actually hate more than Griffith.
The school dynamics are a bit unrealistic, but in a way where the real and awful aspects of school are just amplified, similar to how bullying is shown in most anime.
What I am trying to say is that a lot of people will argue this is a bad show because it is unrealistic and the people in it are evil, but I would say that is its best part, as it kept me watching from beginning to end. So, check it out for yourself if you are like me and too lazy to read the visual novel.

This anime is really boring, it makes you say "uh it's just another girlish drama, just another anime about a dumb boy that some how all girls fall for him", everything about this anime is ordinary and watching it makes you suffer, like to me it felt like I'm totally wasting my time but since I had nothing better to do I watched it to the very end, and that one last episode, it surprises you. It makes you double-check if you're watching the correct anime or not. It's no longer about a boring anime about some school girls, pure madness walks in and it's impossible to predict this. When I started watching it, I was expecting a sweet anime about some school kids falling in love, but never could imagine it would end like this.

I went into this without knowing anything about this anime, initially thinking it was some romance anime with horror elements. The first three episodes were fine as we were introduced to Makoto, who has a crush on a girl named Sekai, while another girl, Kotonoba, was interested in him. Sounds like a normal love triangle to a viewer who has never heard of this anime before. By episode four, everything goes downhill and continues that way until the final episode. Somehow, it even turned innocent side characters who were initially nice and had nothing to do into scum in the later episodes.
In each episode, I found myself cursing out Makoto for his actions, which makes sense once you realize that this was adapted from a hentai visual novel where the goal is to basically fuck every girl that e…

While I had high expectations for this series
the story quickly became frustrating to follow due to its incredibly predictable plot.
all of the characters are really annoying
I found myself comparing it to Kanojo Okarishimasu and to my surprise, I think even Kazuya is a more better lead than Makoto.
The one saving grace was the ending. Just for that it wasn't as haunting as I feared it would be, and I give credit to the creators for that.
However, I ultimately cannot recommend this to anyone looking for a well-written story. It felt like a waste of time that didn't pay off in the end.

This show is what a harem would actually be like: broken hearts, lasting consequences and huge self-doubt are created by Makoto for keeping strings attached with so many girls.
It’s a hard watch, but not in a bad way. The show immediately let us know Makoto is not a good person and you get a feeling it’s not gonna bite him in the ass later. The characters pain is not necessarily relatable, but understandable the way the show presents it. While their decisions are guided by their feelings, their pain is well rounded.
It’s a show that grabs your attention and you’re curious where it’s going. It’s a show about lust, attention, mental instability, cheating, bullying and trust.

So I'm a fairly new anime watcher, all things considered
I did technically start before the pandemic but considering the list of anime I saw before 2020 is, like, 4, and the list before 2023 is 13, I would say I definitely got into anime late in the game and, relatively speaking, in my life
So why does this matter in a School Days review?
This is just my kind of way into bridging into talking about how School Days was unironically a formative anime for me that changed the way I saw anime and, in that respect, I always struggled between how much of my love for this show was tied to that moment in time, how much of it is The Mirai Nikki Effect where it's a trashy show but it's fun to watch and unironically enjoyable and how much of it was a genuine appreciation of it as a literary work.…

First off: The show is actually really good, until you get to the last episode, which is so bad it should be illegal.
Not going to spoil it, but that is exactly what kind of show this is, unfortunately. Good until it gets really bad, and stays bad in your memory forever.
Until then, you have a nice balance of school relationship drama and fanservice/ecchi. These parts of the show are actually pretty good which is part of what makes the ending so bad.
Again, listen to all the people telling you the ending mega-sucks and just cut it short before episode 12. Your life will be greatly improved this way, I promise.

Dude the only thing that made me watch this fucking bullshit is my friend, we were watching it episode after episode after school. and holy fuck dude this anime is made full of sluts and idiots, a fucking shitty written main character that's an idiot and can't decide well between a hot shy girl (Katsura) and a skinny flat chested idiot (Sekai) holy fucking shit is this guy even serious? and the side characters are so bland and repetitive it got to a point that I literally predicted the whole writing for these characters. Only the ending made the anime a little bit better.
3/10 main character
side characters 2/10
10/10 for the cute shy mommy Katsura

School Days is definitely an underrated quality anime.
Summary:
Makoto likes a girl, confesses to her, and they start dating, but later Makoto begins to turn into a bad person... (I won't write more to avoid spoilers)
Scoring:
Story 9/10
Animation 8.5/10 (felt nostalgic and beautiful to me)
Sound 8/10
Art style 9/10 (I've always loved this kind of drawing style)
But if I consider the enjoyment it gave me,
it could get a 9/10. Finally:
If you're looking for a short and meaningful anime, it's perfect for you, but if you want something more action-oriented, don't watch it. Personally, I love it a lot—so if you watch it and don't like it, don't blame me, because I love it purely on a personal level. This anime isn't for everyone.

For all the anime I’ve seen, I’ve come across plenty of dumb, crazy, and unhinged shows, but this one sits in a category of its own. I actually had some hope at first. Two episodes in, I didn’t hate it. It avoided the usual romance clichés and leaned into something more unsettling, which I could tolerate.
But as the episodes dragged on toward the finale, I had serious questions I’d love to ask the author mostly about his mental and clinical state. I sat through all 12 episodes in one go, constantly trying to rationalize what I was watching, only to be rewarded with absolute nothing. No sadness, no shock, no emotional payoff, just silence. The ending alone made me question why I bothered.
If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and skip these 4 hours of eye bleaching nonsense. Go to s…

You’ve probably heard things about School Days. Maybe a friend smirked and said, “Oh, you’ll love the ending,” or you’ve seen it mentioned in some dark corner of the internet with words like “traumatic” and “nice boat” floating around. You’re curious. Is it really that deep? That shocking?
Let’s cut the crap: School Days is what happens when a boring romance anime gets bitten by a radioactive soap opera and decides to take itself way too seriously. It’s not so much a story as it is a 12-episode-long sigh of disappointment.
The setup is almost aggressively simple. You’ve got Makoto, your standard-issue shy anime guy who develops a crush on Kotonoha, a quiet, pretty girl he sees on the train. Then you have Sekai, the peppy friend who decides to play matchmaker. It’s all very sweet, very ge…

Watching this anime, half way through I knew that this was either going to be a 10/10 or a 1/10.
I haven’t watched the final season of AOT for the very reason I feel after having finished this anime, that I ‘don’t know what to feel’, so I would be very disappointed with myself as I am now if I didn’t know how to feel after watching something that mentally I consider to be so important.
I watched this constantly rooting for the most bloody end to the scum of an MC, chanting as if the spirit of the French Revolution possessed me, but after it was over, I feel empty.
It’s a 1/10 for me, but without a doubt for a girl as perfect but made ultimate victim as Kotonoha Katsura, she deserves so much better. Despite my lack of doubting of that fact, I think that if I were to see something as unde…

I’ll keep it simple. This anime is absolutely ridiculous to the point of making you incredibly angry… but it makes it pretty fun to watch. Theres no logic, all bad decisions, and a constant downwards spiral. The story is pretty terrible. With all this in mind, it’s actually quite a unique experience that is a lot of fun if you don’t take it too seriously. Yes, it’s awful, but it’s almost so awful that it’s kind of good. The angrier I got, the more I realized I was enjoying it, especially since it was getting genuine reactions out of me.
Long story short: the characters have no logic, the story is poorly written, everyone makes bad decisions, etc. Despite this, it’s somehow a fun watch. You’re basically watching a mess unfold.

School Days starts as a nice romantic light-hearted series, but it quickly starts to "go bad". There is a brutal difference in the portrayal of the characters at the beginning and the end of the series, or rather, it is mainly about the main character Makoto, who is introduced as a normal boy, but in a few episodes he turns out to be an extreme pervert. The series knows what it is slowly heading towards and that is probably a surprise (I had a more or less spoiler-filled ending - but that was also the reason why I started watching the series), but the plot is so "annoying" and revolves in one place. The whole transformation simply seemed terribly rushed and ill-conceived to me and in the end I don't really know what to think about this episode.
