I saw this almost exactly 9 years ago, and if I remember right, I found it BECAUSE it was the lowest rated thing on the site at the time. YouTube randomly recommended one of Takena's recent animations, Midnight Vampire (highly recommend btw), to me the other day and I went through their other uploads to be pleasantly surprised by coming across Shitcom again. I honestly had no idea that the funny 60 second long poop claymation I watched 9 years ago was made by the same person.

Anything more would be unaccounted for, and anything less, would be, well, a bit piss in nature.
Watch and be disgusted, watch and be amazed, for all the shit there is to give, or show. The animation is completely yours to adore or puke on. The characters are very diverse, too much at times [YOU HAVE A MAN AND A WOMAN, Just wow]. The director's abilities were truly tested to their absolute limits during this art piece, maybe tested too much to its limits, hence the shithousery.

It's a simple one minute animation, but it's also a story of true love.
It's funny, cute, romantic and wholesome at the same time.
The clay animation is of great quality and really shows how much time, love and soul the author has put into it.
The ending was quite unpredictable and caught me off guard in a good way.
And the most important thing is the meaning behind the final scene: it's a blessing to find a person who will understand, support and accept you for who you are.
To sum it up, the short is great and deserves more praise and critical acclaim.
When I first found it, I rewatched it 5 times in a row and recommended it to my friends.
Just go watch it.

You'd think out of all of Takena's works, it'd be Chainsaw Maid or even Lemon Home Animation Theater Episode 2 that would get people's attention. Nope, it's Shitcom.
Takena does so much with facial expressions and it's really cute. The way they quickly change facial expressions to fit the situation is quirky and heartwarming.
Also, claymation is the perfect medium for showing off disgusting stuff. The shit looks like real shit and yet this short is suitable for all ages on YouTube. Pretty cool, huh?

Shitcom is a comedy. Comedy is a hit or miss. But Shitcom takes comedy, turns it on its head, and does what is apparently, "subtle", things with general conventions like toilet humour.
Firstly, "no real story", "no real characters", art is fine, sounds are good, all of these factors are mostly irrelevant though. Let's talk about why this is enjoyable instead.

the story's rather basic, but given this is a minute long, you can't go into it expecting something that you'd get from a 13-episode anime. two lovers are at a restaurant, and one of them barfs out poop. the other one does the same, and they have a heartwarming moment as they realize one of their similarities. vulgarities aside, it's actually something and it was honestly a bit touching, if not gross.

Shitcom is a romance comedy that is written, produced and animated by the GOAT that is Nagao Takena. Being 1 minute long, it was able to pack in a much better story, much better well-written and well-developed characters, than any other show or movie (like Twilight for example) could have possibly done. I decided, for my own amusement, after having a conversation with a friend of mine to do a bit of research on the statistics behind the scores on MAL. I did this because I wanted to more fully understand my own system of evaluating anime and what makes them good in my eyes.
In doing so, I needed to find what lives in the abyssal depths of 3/10 and lower, the bottom 1% or so of anime.
And here we are. We have long since passed the bottom of the barrel. We are half way to the core the Earth.
Objectively speaking, there is almost nothing about Shitcom to critique. It's short, has no dialogue and only two characters. However, the plot is conveyed perfectly and there is even a surprise twist at the end.

Story: A man and a woman sit in a restaurant. The woman has stomach issues, and the man proposes to her with a ring. Both orally excrement poop, and are embarrassedly looking at each other. The short closes with both of them smiling at each other in abashment. 4/10

There's a sad thing I feel about how bad the reception this short animation gets. Not only most people just see it simply as a shit show for presenting shit, but also most people who praise it are also being sarcastic and making fun of it. But it's not that surprising since most Koji Yamamura's and Yoji Kuri's works, also other experimental works, have received the similar treatment. This has left an impression on me that most people just can't appreciate an "ugly" work or something that try to be unique and out from the comfort zone.

This might be the worst "anime" I have ever watch...
The story (1) is pathetic as it is predictable and just plain weird and stupid.
The sound (2) isn't any better... (just a bunch of stomach problems sound effects...)
Art (3) is the best thing there is, which is still bad. It is claymation.
Characters (1) are just there for show, and enjoyment (1) ... well there isn't any to be had in my honest opinion...
Overall score is a 1 as I felt that i have not gained any enjoyment out of that, and probably you won't either.

Well... this will be short. Shitcom it's pretty... unique and at first it may seem shocking. Just saying but the title it's expressive so prepare yourself.
Just a tip, but you would want to watch this when you are alone if you don't want anyone to think you are a freak.
At first sight it seems like something random, made out of boredom, something like a parody or something. Just a tentative of bad, dark, sick comedy. Don't expect too much from the art either, at first I even doubted if it has any relation with Japan or anime. But, in my opinion, the thing that makes this worth watching it's the message and that is, if you love someone you accept it as it is without judging.
