As far as "a regular dude gets superpowers way beyond his league, attracts a lot of girls, and hijinks ensue" stories go, honestly this anime is probably one of the few actually good ones. It's more about drama than action scenes, and it understands how to build up payoffs and twist the story in fun ways. Most of the cast are likeable enough, although I wish some of the more prominent side characters are given time to show their depth. The main relationship dynamic of Kojou and Yukina is sweet as heck, and the other harem participants had their moments too. The action scenes were usually lacking in screen time and actual choreography, but other than that the anime consistently looks good. Hats off to the character artists, they never dropped the ball in drawing the waifus, and considering…

If someone ever asked me to name the most mid anime of all time, the textbook definition of a 5/10, especially from the 2010s, I’d immediately point to Strike the Blood. It was a series that drew a decent amount of attention during my early days of watching seasonal anime, and for some reason, it just kept getting new seasons every few years. Naturally, I started to wonder: Does Strike the Blood actually have some hidden brilliance or a cult following that justifies its longevity?
The premise itself is serviceable with vampires, ecchi elements, and supernatural factions, and it initially showed potential. Compared to other ecchi series of the time, like High School DxD or Infinite Stratos, its fanservice is relatively tame. Yes, it objectifies women, but not as aggressively. The vampire s…

*Note: This is a review of the entire thing, all fives ‘seasons’ and the OVAs.*
tl;dr: An anime that tells a complete story with a good plot and fun characters, but that felt increasingly rushed.
This anime is a light novel adaptation that is pretty unique in how it was handled. It started with a two cour TV series that adapted the first six volumes and then two filler accompanying OVAs, which is pretty standard. It seems that afterwards it wasn’t greenlit for another TV series, which also occurs more often that it does not. However, it seems that the anime studio was really committed to the series so they released the second season as OVAs. And then the third, and then the fourth, and then the fifth.
In total across those seasons they released 45 OVA episodes and actually managed to ad…

This show is actually fun to watch, but I have to admit that it is a bad guilty pleasure. This is primarily a harem anime with an obvious best girl winner and power fantasy. A different woman's blood typically unlocks another powerful ability of our MC as he tries to overcome life on an island where billions of dollars of damages in incurred on the daily. The sidekick is just as absurd, crying over our immortal MC getting killed even when she knows he's immortal or her blood could fix whatever plot is preventing him from coming back to life. And she has this stupid catch-phrase that she blurts before every big fight which got old very fast.
In Strike the Blood, it is as straightforward as it gets. The battles are cool and our MC is a nice guy Chad. He doesn't even have to try to get women…

It's a generic harem anime where the plot is generic and repetitive and the MC dense as a black hole.
MC with OP potential but start with the lowest power level. Get beaten on the first half and come back with new power and beat the enemy. It's so generic that every episode I have this "Ah shit, here we go again" kind of feel to it.
The only thing that support me to watch this anime is have to be the heroines. Their character design are so cute and pretty so it's holding my sanity to keep with this generic plot that repeats on every same arc. Their personality is also appealing to me. Also the slight amount of fanservice keeps me from dropping the series. The bad part on the heroines is gotta be their background, all of them are somehow related to "being a tool" character.
To be honest,…

This was created to sell you those pillows and anime figurines, what do you expect? You have the classic recipe for the best anime: petty guy has some kinda super power then he decides to to be like "to hell with family and my school life lets go get me some pair of tts" then petty girl whose brain would blow up if she stops saying ie senpai for 2 second falls in love with the petty guy cus he has such a cool anime hairstyle, and then there's some other girls. And then they fight some thing I don't know anymore. Who made this? Hideyo Yamamoto? The one who drew the storyboard for episode 30 of Bleach? What the fuq? It has 4 seasons by now? WHAT THE FUQ?

It's like Monogatari if Monogatari scaled up it's ecchi and it's harem, but made everything else significantly worse. I normally don't really care all to much if ecchi is in a show, or even if it serves as one of the main focal points as long as there is other stuff of value to latch onto and enjoy; but strike the blood is a massive nothing burger of, well, nothingness. There isn't one thing in particular it does that is bad per say, but there isn't anything I can single out as good either.
Story 6/10: I'll admit it, I'm generally not a huge fan of mini arcs but the first few episodes had me pretty intrigued about the plot and the world around it. We start off on this artificial island somewhere (I don't remember) out in the ocean, where vampires, werewolfs, and other fairytale like creat…

I can't rate this series a 10 because some episodes are rushed unfortunately and I can't rate this a 5 because its well above average so an 8 is the only one that really felt right.
This series does a wonderful job with its characters and their interactions with each other even making you feel like part of the group at times. Their conversations flow well and feel natural and this along with some exceptional voice acting brought the characters to life. The only thing I would like to see more however is main character growth. The main constantly lets other people risk their lives while he watches on the side only realizing the threat this has towards the end of the season and even then he still doesn't seek to improve himself even though he is said to be the strongest vampire in existence.…

If anyone rated this above a 4 y'all have patience. I'm writing this as the last ep continues to drag. This will be my first review. *spoilers obviously ahead*
Story: 3
As its been said the setting is a vampire, magic, world on a man made island. After the first arc I thought it would be a great anime with a sh!t ton of dangerous enemies, however this would be greatly shot down; as the story slowly and painfully dragged me to hell with it. From the the first arc which held my attention long enough to lose it all right before the the labyrinth of the blue witch *which in my opinion was the best tale/arc*. "Strike the Blood" has nothing that made it stand out, the characters didnt grow on me to believe in a strong ship. After all its Yukina being his observer and Akastuki wanting her to be…

Cock-Block the anime. That is what this is. If you came to see an overpowered vampire lord beat the hell out those who deny him the ability to have a harem you will be sorely disappointed. But at the same time let me say that this anime suffers from the all too common "It's bad because it wasn't what I was expecting it to be". What I just said might sound conflicting and even as I wrote it and am writing this it still seems to be. Let me explain.....
One look at the tags this anime has to offer and you can sum up the entirety of this show. A vampire who goes through the show unintentionally building a harem for no reason other than the fact that he is a vampire and looks like every other MC. Oh, and by the way, he is also nice. That's all these anime is, there is nothing original about it…

This is one of the best anime I have watched in a while! The story was great, it wasn't stolen from another anime, and there was a lot of fan service. This reached rank 4 of my favorites list!
Your average ordinary HS student becomes a vampire overnight. He also happens to be the strongest vampire that's ever lived! And he doesn't want any of the power. Our MC spends most of his time helping others, rather than being selfish. Even going to the point of sacrificing his life for the young woman he loves. Multiple times.
The story is excellent! you get to learn about the characters, and actually, start to fall for them yourself! And the fan service doesn't hurt either.
I didn't have any complaints, except that the first season ended to fast for me. Then again, I did binge it over the past…

After watching this anime, I decided to write a short poem about it.
Roses are red,
From now on this is my fight,
No senpai, this is our fight.
Jokes aside,
Story: 7
This anime has a mediocre storyline, but sometimes just sometimes its unpredictable. The fight scene is great and just in case you don't know that they're going to win the fight, you'll hear the Himeragi's catchphrase. Art: 8
Its artwork is ok for its time. The animation is pretty fluid and coordinated. The character designs are good and they are pretty well drawn.
Sound: 9
The opening and closing are great and I really like it. The soundtracks are also made very well.
Character: 8
The character development is great and overall it is pretty good. Since I've watched all the seasons, as for his background on how he got…

Itogami Island is an artificial island not far from Tokyo, one of the many "Demon Districts" that was home to demons and other mythical creatures. They live along side humans and were protected as endangered species while under observation for research. Kojou Akatsuki had discovered himself one day as a vampire with no memories of his past as a human. Not only that, he wasn't the average vampire either. He had become the "Fourth Progenitor", a powerful vampire that who can take out an entire human army if he desired. However, he has no such thoughts and continues living as a normal senior high student as best as he can while keeping it all a secret. One day Yukina Himeragi is sent by the Lion Organisation in Japan to observe him and was to eliminate him if he was considered a threat. Meanw…

This show is literal shit. There is no overall story, just a lot of story arcs with no depth and barely any connection. Every fight scene has the same lines at some point, and they are literally the worst lines I have ever heard, at least it seems that way after you hear them about ten times. So much of the plot is left unexplained because why explain something when it makes no sense? After all its better to leave your watchers completely clueless as to who some people are for the entirety of the show. Its so bad it needs a second season just to fill in all the HUGE PLOT HOLES FOR WHICH EXPLANATIONS ARE NOT EVEN ATTEMPTED. However, the one thing this show does well is the art, and the soundtrack, while not being too noticeable, is actually kind of nice and enjoyable. If you want to watch y…

Honestly, don't think I've been more disappointed in a anime before.
First let's start with how bad annoying the characters are. Kojou Akatsuki becomes what they call in the story the Fourth Primogenitor which is supposed to be the strongest vampire alive. Yea, no instead what we're shown in some weakling, that gets followed by one of the many girls added to his harem (every arc he bites a new girl and they become an addition lol) named Yukina. Yukina is a middle school girl that is tasked with OBSERVING Kojou. Observing is supposed to be just watching him and make sure he doesn't do anything evil. What she really does is carry this weakling every fight, and get in the way every fight. Along with with that she for some reason regulates and gets upset whenever he meets another girl?
Oh,…

They managed to make a show about vampires completely bloodless.
About the kindest thing you can say for Strike the Blood is that it's not screamingly bad in any particular way. Rather it's uniformly, monotonously bad; bad in every single way that an anime of its general description might turn out to be bad. Now bad shows are a fact of life and nothing to get excited about, but the fandom's toleration and acceptance for bad shows like this is a real shame and only encourages the studios to keep turning them out instead of something actually worthwhile.
SutoBura actually begins reasonably well. True, the first episode begins with an unnecessary and confusing narrative prologue, in which anonymous voices portentously explain the main character's back story, but after that the actual conten…

So I come fresh, never read the LN or manga. And I usually love what I watch but I'm torn on this one. I don't know what's up with this anime. It's like trying all ind of genre and story. All 24 episode only filled with action, no interlude, no some kind of break, no character explanation, and just jamming the story with no background what so ever.
All of the bad guys don't have any kind of explanation or connection to the story. They're bad because they're bad guys. The story never really move forward, just another "Ah. Bad guys show up, get new power, beat the bad guys". There is a lot of character but all of them are really shallow or background that never explained.
If you're doing something, do it right. Planning to do romance or love then don't do it half way.

When I was first introduced to STB (Strike the Blood) by someone whose taste in anime generally matches mine, I was a bit surprised. I didn't think that a show with tags like "ecchi" and "harem" could be what I consider a good show. My, was I wrong.
As you may have noticed from my rating for this show (8), I actually really enjoyed it. For me this is a very casual show, one that you can pick up or "pause" any time, as it doesn't have a very important story to follow or any details that you have to be careful not to miss if you want to enjoy STB to it's fullest, because the show's strengths lie not in the story, but in the simple and fun stupidity accompanied by some pretty good action and of course don't forget the ecchi part of it (unless it's not a something you like at all, in which ca…

This is a thoroughly average anime that doesn't really stand out at any off its aspects.
We have a story about formerly normal guy that recently got super powers. There's shounen, some comedy, and attempts at ecchi, romance and fanservice.
Story:
Fairyl weak, but does its job. The story pretty much follows every trope of the genres involved, and occasionally tries to play with ecchi, fanservice, and jokes that revolve around getting protagonist into "ecchi" situation, and then getting him called a pervert Those situations are somewhat awkwardly handled on some occasiona. Mostly the story maintains average quality, with exception of the few last episodes that were quite awful. Lots of highly predictable and stereotypical interactions and story elements.
Art:
Standard anime art for those…
