The comedy in this anime feels like guessing on a multiple-choice test—you might get a few laughs, but overall, it misses the mark. Nearly every scene tries to turn into a joke, resulting in a barrage of random gags that rarely land. The humor feels forced and relentless, making the story suffer as a result.
There’s potential in the premise—a powerful yet humble protagonist from a legendary village moving to a "starter town" is ripe for engaging storytelling. Unfortunately, the creators seem more interested in shallow comedy than meaningful plot development.
Visually, the anime is serviceable. The art style is nothing to write home about, and while there’s some fanservice sprinkled throughout, it's neither excessive nor memorable. It looks fine, but never stands out.
Overall, I can’t re…

I know this will be a divisive remark, but I think this show is trying to do something similar to One Punch Man, but with the standard Harem Isekai tropes as well. To that effect, I think that under certain circumstances this show is very high quality and manages to succeed in this endeavor.
I watched this show at 1.5x speed on dub. That being the case, many of the jokes managed to not only land, but occasionally catch me off guard. In particular, the absurdity of some of the scenes, like a belt talking about its grandchildren, in the moment may not seem completely absurd, but it quickly builds until a genuinely funny joke appears when you were already somewhat cracked. I am a somewhat cynical person and force myself to be more understanding for many of these reviews, but I genuinely don'…

I dont really think this anime deserves its low ranking. Let me tell you why.
Let me get this out of the way: there are very legitimate criticisms that can be leveled against this anime. It's trite. It doesn't really have a plot. The characters are one dimensional and exhibit little to know growth throughout the whole thing. If this were trying to be a serious anime, it would be a 4, ,maybe, if I'm generous.
But here's the thing: it's not. It's not a serious anime and it's clear that this anime has no intention of taking itself seriously, and does not ask you to either. It's a lighthearted, comedic romp whose sole purpose is to make you laugh. And, at least for me, it succeeds in that completely.
You can tell it's not serious because most of the characters are named after chemical compo…

Okay I understand why this show gets so much hate, but honestly it wasn’t that bad.
This show is in my opinion perfect example of stuff to watch if you want some cheap entertainment. It’s generic, sometimes annoying, predictable and LOUD with clché Japanesse anime style of homour. On the other hand humour knows no bounderies as many of reviewers already said and it worked for me although it was too much "cringy" sometimes. On top of that it looks good, has some enjoyable characters (some not), solid sound effects and if you won’t take it seriously and mainly don’t expect too much you got exactly what I said. It doesn’t mean it’s a good show at all tho. There isn’t anything else except of nice animations and humor which would make this show more enjoyable and these are primary aspects whic…

tl;dr: An anime that is good at using one narrow kind of comedy but doesn’t do well at anything beyond that.
This anime is centered around comedy involving the protagonist, Lloyd, being overpowered but not realizing this and considering himself weak due to his background and immense naivety. There’s some variety to this, in that he’s overpowered at quite a few things ranging from fighting monsters to cooking and cleaning. And there are lots of characters that react to all this in different ways. Still, at the end of the day, that’s what the core of the anime is. If you aren’t fond of such humor then you won’t like this anime. I enjoy this type of comedy and the execution here was pretty good, and thus enjoyed most of the anime.
Beyond that it does try to flesh out other characters at lea…

Let's address the largest flaw, the story. The premise is decent and the premise is held up throughout the show. This is good, but all the surrounding narrative to the premise is a bit all over the place. The first two episodes are paced well, but the third and fourth are a mess. Between rushing the plot along and not explaining the plot nearly at all, the whole thing is disorientating. Then for the remainder of the show we have the average anime pacing one might expect. Overall the third and fourth episode pull down the show from what would have been a 5 or 6. 4/10
The next flaw is the characters, but to a much lesser extent. The MC is rather one dimensional, but that's kind of the premise of the show. The harem is kind of annoying as a whole, but alright individually. I don't mind any o…

Review of tatoeba last dungeon anime episode 12:
Its now the final episode, episode 12, where its a good anime for this season.. gosh, selene really gave me a good laugh.. lol.. chanting the "lloyd sutra".. or how magnificent lloyd is to her.. in order to get vritra out of the sealed ball.. good thing that the dwarf had absolutely zero fighting skills, or else vritra couldnt get out.. plus the other 2 villains arent really fighting hard, since the other villains were only interested in the development of a replacement for the boring world.. well, all in all, the anime was very good as it has its own ups and down, mostly laughs with lloyd around.. lol.. anyways, i rate the anime a 4.5 out of 5, 4.5 for both story and art.. 🙂

In a sense, this anime reminded me of Akame ga Kill.
-"But they're completely different" I hear you say.
Well, yes, of course they are, but the thing is that, both left me with the same aftertaste. That is, the "I'm not sure if I loved it or hated it" feeling that I have right now. Both have a plot that I liked, a lot, and both have parts of the whole "structure" that I hated immensely. In AgK it was the...hmm...let's just say (to avoid unnecessary spoilers), that it had too much drama in general, for a shounen anime anyway, that turned me off.
In Tatoeba last dungeon there are a few issues that need addressed.
First off, according to the tags, the genres are adventure / fantasy and while they're not wrong, they're not entirely correct either. What this anime trully is, first and forem…

This anime fits right into my kind of show. It has a super-strong main character along with all the females falling for him.
The storyline isn't the best, but they make up for that with really enjoyable scenes. Although, I hope there will be a bigger plot to follow in the coming episodes.
The main character is portrayed as super strong and unique, as all the females love his personality. However, I wished that he would beat his opponents more easily (as in the arm wrestle), as the whole idea of the story is having an overpowered character.
Where can I find more like this?!

Yeah first thing you've noticed about the show is its unecessarily long title, the editors may have confused the title box with the synopsis box.
Now going through the show these are the things I've noticed; it has a really bad control of atmosphere, the emotions presented are all over the place with some scenes suddenly becoming comedic during an intense scene or vice versa. The comedy is not exactly wack but it always corporates the loud=funny vibe, I have no problems with that if its used correctly but in this show its used really often that 70% of the show's comedy is mostly composed of shouting and raging. other things are its weak plot and cliche setting.
Moving on to the show's progression. The show's intro is super messed up, too many names and characters…

This anime was one of the most frustrating things I have ever watched. The only reason I watched it all the way through is because I wanted to make sure I got all the terrible-ness for this review, and so that my review actually has some merit.
Let me just start off by saying that the form of "comedy" I hate more than anything is "comedy" that stems from misunderstandings and miscommunications. It infuriates me when a show of any kind draws comedy during scenes or scenarios from misunderstandings… and this anime is literally 90% that form of comedy.
Story: Honestly garbage. It's about a boy who moves to normal society where everone is pretty regular yet he thinks himself pathetic and weak because he's supposedly the weakest person in his village… This gets old VERY quickly and can easily…

Though I do not know if this is the author's original idea, I believe that to enjoy this anime to the maximum you can't take it as a fantasy type anime with comedy elements to it, but instead you have to expect a gag comedy in a fantasy setting.
I remember in the early episodes a friend of mine complaining because he felt that a gag appeared to soon and ruined the characters' development and the more deep side of the anime, but I disagree and say that the more serious scenes in this anime serve only as a set up to the gag, in the way that the contrast of them both is supposed to make the gag funnier. Now, does it do it successfully? Not really. They repeat this formula too much, and don't really execute it that well.
At the end of the day, none of the characters are really remarkable,…

Tatoeba Last Dungeon as I'll call it since I can't bother to write the entire name, is an absolute dumpster-fire of an anime.
Lets start off with the story.
First few episodes were decent, it wasn't incredibly fast paced nor was it downright slow. It was doing good. Then after episode 4, everything goes downhill rapidly. The plot was incredibly confusing, fast paced, and overall, shit. In terms of comedy and jokes, they're just nonexistent.
Art and Sound:
Decent, I guess?? There's really nothing to say about them, they're both mediocre and middle-of-the-pack.
The Characters.
Oh boy. I don't know what to tell you besides them being utterly shitty and unlikeable to the core. Our main character of this anime, Llyod, may be strong, but is completely oblivious to it. You'd think at some poin…

This show is bad. Why you ask, one of the most important things in an anime is the characters and the mc obviously, good animation and sounds are nothing without characters that you will be happy to see, not like this pathetic garbage excuse of an mc Lloyd.
I understand the idea of an op mc who is oblivious about how strong he is and the harem around him (not that I like it too much) but in this show, they took it on a whole new level I am pretty sure that the mc doesn't think that he was in a dangerous situation in the first 11ep and he is just dumb, not the funny dumb but the annoying kind of dumb, the kind that if the show was good it becomes horrible because of this dumbness.
Enough about the bad mc, the story is trash, we hardly know anything bout the villains and suddenly

You know, there are two shows with "Dungeon" in the title this season, and I very nearly stayed away from this show due to its stupidly long title and terrible-sounding premise. I never liked the idea of having an overpowered MC be the core of an entire series and I generally dislike harems in the first place. Thankfully, Tatoeba Dungeon is a standout comedy on all fronts and a fun experience all around.
Let's get this out of the way first, yes, the premise of Lloyd being ridiculously overpowered yet unaware is unfunny and the joke is incredibly stale and repetitive. However, unlike most other comedies (and non-comedies) with a similar premise, the show has other jokes as well. My word, expecting a comedy show to have more than one joke, but man, do we live in an age where even basic comp…

honestly this anime is the same thing over and over again, OP mc is OP and doesnt know it, this gag is repeated over and over and i get sick of it, it was funny the first 2 times after that every time it happened i wanted to just ditch the anime.
i dont usually drop animes and i was determined to watch this through to the end because i had nothing else to watch on a monday afternoon. the charcters are boring and just a massive cliche with every single cliche haram girl you can imagine, it wasnt even a good cliche because we didnt see anything good, yes im a degenrate.
its boring, repatative and mundane, i really hope all the good reviews on this are satire because i cringe just reading them.
stay clear of this anime.

I'll get to it straight away. This is not worth your time.
It's best if you just watch some small clips on youtube or something.
The story follows a boy who believes that he is weak just because everyone else between him is strong. To put it in perspective, he is level 99, while all the others around him are level 100. But because he has low self-confidence, his level gets reduced by 20. (btw, there are no level concepts in the series itself, I was just making an example. Don't misunderstand.)
It's a great and unique concept... but the story itself is just a pile of cliche and bad plot. It's a shame because if it had taken itself seriously, it would've easily become one of the greatest zero-to-hero stories. But instead, we got a "comedy" anime that isn't actually funny.
The characters ar…

Did you want another fantasy with a main character that is perfect, and with a comedy that relies on people screaming and getting hit all the time and girls falling in love with this MC in two seconds? Well, my friend, this is your chance! If you didn’t, run away.
Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatari (yes, I had to copy-paste the name because I don’t even know it, lmao, why do they make names like these) is a fantasy anime that is mediocre and poor, but not THAT bad. The story is the same fantasy trope: a guy, called Lloyd, who comes from a little town that wants to be its pride and joy by entering the hero academy. He makes a lot of friends on his way because of how nice and innocently pure he is, and the most important is that he is st…

Comedy is Subjective. And the short answer is simple: Of course it is, don’t be ridiculous. Except when it isn’t. Clear? No? Oh...I thought this was going so well.
Comedy is subjective because different people laugh at different things. That doesn’t mean it isn’t, nor does it mean there’s something wrong with our own sense of humor – it just means it’s not for us. Some people don’t find ‘Monty Python’ or ‘The Hitch-Hikers’ Guide to the Galaxy' funny. They are, of course, wrong because they disagree and that will never do. What’s that? I’m not the centre of the universe nor the arbiter of what is and isn’t funny? Really? Have you got written evidence of that? You have? Oh okay, they’re not wrong either...it’s really not that complicated. Funny isn’t universal, it’s very, very personal. So…

Tatoeba is one of the hidden gems of the season, plain and simple. It’s nothing revolutionary or mind blowing, but it’s fun, and at the end of the day, that’s what anime is about.
What I like most about this series is the fact that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Tatoeba knows it has an OP protag with a harem and all the generic fantasy tropes that we’ve come to expect from this genre, yet it pulls them off in a satisfying way. The effective use of comedy and banter throughout the series creates a really fun and light atmosphere that makes every episode seem like a 5 minute short. The characters have their own fun quirks and feel unique in the context of the story, and their relationships with the MC, are a blast to watch. The story isn’t much to write home about, but you won’t eve…
