I gotta admit, I almost dropped this anime after the first episode, which was incredibly boring and generic. But after giving it a chance, you can tell it gets considerably better as the episodes go by.
I really like stories that take extremely overused clichés and turn them into something interesting, and the plot twists in this anime are actually pretty neat. But even with all that, I still feel like something is missing. The character relationships, for example, are decent, but they feel a bit too superficial, and I feel like they could be a lot more natural and meaningful.
On top of that, the story introduces some really interesting concepts that had the potential to be explored in much greater depth. Unfortunately, I feel like a lot of these ideas end up going to waste, as if the se…

This show has fantastic character designs and a lot of interesting twists and plot points, but is totally undermined by its blitzkrieg-style pacing that doesn't allow any of it to breathe.
At first I thought this show was just going to a low-quality trope factory, and to be fair it certainly does tick off a LOT of typical anime tropes. But it combines so many of them that they start collapsing in on themselves like a neutron star. Some of the twists, like the ones coming in episode 9, were genuinely interesting. And while to some degree the twists themselves were tropey, they twisted the twists with more tropes to the point that I had no idea where the show was going to go next. That's a good place a series to be in, and one that anime especially often fails to achieve.
The problem, th…

This series is one of pretty drastic contrasts in quality. It has a lot of the mainstays of generic, low-effort fantasy anime—a drab-looking MC, unimpressive animation, a lot of cliche tropes and half-baked litRPG concepts—and yet also has a strange amount of impressive things going for it. The plot's a lot more interesting than it at first appears, and that goes double for the MC. His ideology, and the overarching theme of how positive change can't be achieved while adhering to a broken system, are genuinely very compelling. It's a topic I haven't really seen explored in anything else I've watched or read, and I genuinely have to give this show some respect for tackling it.
There's just a very strange mix of really good and unique elements and really generic and bad elements in this show…

Very recommended!
I don't understand how all the average, generic fantasy anime series get a rating of over 7, while amazing shows like this one get overlooked. It features a genuinely unique story that is a refreshing break from the tired formula of a cringey, good-hearted main character trying to defeat a demon lord surrounded by a pointless harem.
The story stands out by breaking traditional clichés, and even when certain plot developments are predictable, you still enjoy them because the setup and execution are so well done.
The art style and animation hit the mark completely, fitting the mood of the series to perfection—they emphasize the darker, more intense moments without losing their visual identity. The characters are remarkably well-rounded with clear strengths and genuine fl…

Hello. I'm too tired, so I'll just start.
Visuals. Meh, at best. Meh character designs, all over the place. Decent colour palette. Interesting animation. I wasn't impressed by it, but in the last episode it was a scene that made do a double-take ("she" was just walking down a hallway). Incredibly sht fight choreography.
Audio. Ok? Nothing spectacular, but it felt appropriate. Decent OP and ED. Decent volume balance, Meh (at best) VAs work. I haven't seen VAs so little invested in proper acting in a loooong time.
The editing. Meh. A lot of lingering and "lets check the reactions on every face". AKA, dead time. Sht world-building. A whole of info is dropped, but you don't get to understand it anyway. Terrible pacing. Action mixed with dragging and/or boring, without any logic. Just "stuff ha…

I think the story is underrated. A basic NPC mob discovers the truth of the world struggles against the system to change it, and in the process goes beyond the limit of his class. Unfortunately, when I first read the story in its manga adaptation, I could really see how lacking the execution of the story is. The anime adaptation is supposed to be another chance to get the story right, but the bog-standard animation and its poor comedic timing at times did not help it in any way.
However, there are moments, though they are few and far in between, that the story potential shines, only to be ultimately failed by the execution. Those moments are just enough to stay and finish the entire 12-episode season.
The season ends in a cliffhanger, which really begs for a second season. It should get…

I had to delete my review as this anime had managed to successfully managed to melt my mind and the review clearly reflected that, that is how much it destroyed me.
I'm going to just put it out there, for me this is the worst anime of the season. Now to preface that I need to state I only watch the anime I'm interested in and I am not someone who goes out of their way to hate watch something, so I don't go looking for bad anime, but I like to think most 'sane' anime viewers also only watch the stuff that interests them.
So I went into this expecting it to be an average fantasy with an OP lead and it being a bit of mindless fun that I could switch off to, as that's the kind of series I seek out as as they are a somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine.
To be blunt, I wanted to be entertain…

LV999 no Murabito — Review
LV999 no Murabito (The Level 999 Villager) is an interesting case of a manga with a good story that received a fairly average anime adaptation.
The story itself has enough mystery and potential to create a strong sense of hype, but the first season does not always deliver that potential consistently.
Story & Narrative
The story is somewhat complicated, and one of the biggest problems for me is the way the anime presents its events.
It sometimes feels like certain parts of the manga have been rearranged or compressed for the anime. Because of this, some sections move forward very simply and clearly, while others suddenly become confusing.
There were several moments when I genuinely thought:
“Wait… what just happened?”
This makes the narrative feel inconsis…

Lv999 no Murabito is far more than just another fantasy series-it gives you a whole new perspective on life. On the surface, it looks like a standard RPG-style story, but beneath that layer, it dives into how the world actually works and exposes the shadowy forces that control society behind the scenes.
What makes it stand out is its deep exploration of limits and power. It shows what truly happens when someone takes their potential, grinds past every obstacle, and pushes their limits to the absolute maximum. The concept of ascension-both in physical strength and higher understanding-is executed brilliantly through Kagami's journey from a basic "villager" class to a world-altering powerhouse.
The characters react realistically to a rigged system, and watching an underdog break the rules…

Anime like this need to be rate as 1/10, keep bring down all copy paste anime with low rate it will somehow prevent people from watching or plan to.
So back to this anime, it is an anime where you put on background while checking your phone. In short you dont need your brain to understand this copy paste anime. First ep look funny enough but it get worst and worst with each ep. This GOOD GUY MC where he forgive everyone is killing the story so hard, i wonder if i give a flying kick to this anime director from his back and ask for forgiveness will he give it as easy as this MC. For every action there is reaction but this anime evil doer didnt get what they deserve because MC IS A GOOD GUY and it is killing every braincells who watch this anime. The story is so boring that i actually respec…

This might just be the worst anime of the season
I wish I was being hyperbolic, I wish I could find something redeemable about this, I don't normally score many anime this low, it's so rare that only 1% of all anime I've watched has got a score this low. So yes this is bad
First is the concept, the plot point of a world that locks people into some sort of system and the MC rejecting said system has been done before, funny enough I can't think of a series that has done it well
Next is our OP MC, but it can't seem to get a handle on if he's overpowered or not or rather just how OP he is, because yes he's level 999 and that makes him so much stronger than everyone else, but it's okay because he's the Villager Class which is the weakest class and he has useless skill, except they aren't usele…

The Villager of Level 999 – Yup...Overpowered (ab)normality, here's your answer to EVERY wannabe author selling mediocrity to the masses.
"Dear Japan, why do you keep accepting and selling Isekai slop to your own netizens? It's not as if people wanted this in the first place, but it feels almost as offensive that resources are put to drain out people's motivations for interpreting someone's amateur writing and then being passed around enough to make SOMETHING out of it."
We're already way past the mid-2020s, but more than just AI slop that has been catching up like wildfire and people around the world vehemently rejecting this "alternate" world, Japan just can't stop giving us seasonal rubbish after trash. That, on the upside, means that we'll still see works like this, but lesser...if 3…
