+ A well-made show, I like that it uses 3D animation for the mascot, the main character is bold and genuinely outplays the system in fun and creative ways. I do like how he genuinely put his friend in front of him no matter what came out of his mouth and the story could've kept me entertained for a decent amount of time!
- The anime is extremely short and doesn't really 'finish' or conclude on a satisfactory ending as its clear the 12 episodes were more of a 'pilot', even concluding on a continuation of the series... (I don't think this counts a spoiler, as I believe its worth knowing before giving this series your time!). I also found the 2nd game pretty confusing, but out of the four games (I think?) shown, only one really got a bit too convoluted, in my opinion. I am mixed about recomm…

I just want season 2 because I'm not a manga reader It is very wonderful, competing with other anime in terms of psychological manipulation, and even the drawing is good. I do not have any criticism, The whole anime gets a 9 because it would be too much to give it a 10 without ending the story I have only been waiting for the second part since 2022 So I advise everyone to watch it because it is worth it, just to note that it does not have a season 2 ..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................…

I started Tomodachi Game because I'm a fan of psychological anime where characters have to outsmart each other under pressure. Going in, I expected something on the level of Classroom of the Elite or Darwin's Game. While it didn't quite reach that level for me, I still had a good time watching it.
The biggest reason I kept coming back was Yuichi. He's easily the most interesting part of the show. Every few episodes, he'd do or reveal something that completely changed how I viewed him. There were several moments where I thought I understood his plans, only to realize I was way off. Whether you end up liking him or not, he's the type of character who makes you want to see what happens next.
What I enjoyed most was the atmosphere of distrust. Watching a group of friends slowly begin to susp…

This anime was genuinely enjoyable. I liked the art style and the intense atmosphere it had. The only thing I really didn’t like, was that episode 12 left you on a major cliff hanger… and then I checked and saw that the anime came out about 4 years ago, but still not any word of a second season. Seeing that was very disappointing and I felt so dissatisfied.
I’d love to get back into this anime again, but I think I’ll wait until I’m sure the series is finished… even though I’m not sure how long that’ll take.
I really liked the complexity of the main character. I really enjoyed hearing his thought processes as he figured things out in each game. I’m very interested to uncover what really happened to him in his past, but I suppose I’ll wait to find that out until the anime is completely f…

I'll admit, I'm a sucker for 'death game' anime, so this one gets bonus points. Tomodachi game is low budget anime squid game except it stars up to 26 small groups of high schoolers who all think that they are friends but actually hate each other, and instead of the pink guys with shapes on their faces there's a children's show mascot and hot ladies who watch them through security cameras and commentate on how cool and awesome the main character is like a JJK fight.
Starting with the cons, there aren't many but they are big enough to deter those of you who are turned off by them.
The most up front one is the overly mature tone: from the edgelord MC, the perverted 'Traitor' (before they retcon them out of nowhere), and how they cant seem to stop sexualizing Yutori.
Beyond that, halfway thr…

Tomodachi Game is a razor-sharp psychological thriller that turns the "power of friendship" trope completely on its head. It is a high-stakes, "dark fantasy" of human morality where the currency isn't magic or strength, but trust—and the cold-blooded manipulation of it.
● Short Synopsis
Yuuichi Katagiri is a high school student who values his friends above all else, having worked tirelessly to save money for a school trip. However, when the trip funds are stolen, Yuuichi and his four closest companions are kidnapped and forced to participate in the "Tomodachi Game" (Friendship Game). The rules are simple: play a series of games to pay off a massive collective debt. While the games are easy if everyone trusts each other, they are designed to reward betrayal and expose the "horrible, disg…

Friendship or money? This theme is explored throughout Tomodachi Game. Seemingly trustworthy relationships are tested in group events that question individual values. Overall, the execution of this fundamental concept is solid, and its format encourages active audience participation when attempting to personally solve problems and decipher twists. Dialogue is well-paced, rounds are interesting, their rules are clear, and the viewer can arrive at narrative conclusions alone. However, these initial mystery aspects are prioritized more than character development. Moreover, the nature of the premise means that motivations, interactions, and conflict are heavily negative alongside edgy shock value. Nonetheless, those familiar with the genre will enjoy this.

This is the type of anime I would recommend to someone who does not watch animes in general. The plot was clear and really catchy, it had a beginning and a concrete end in 12 episodes. Simple and good. For me it kinda fits all the conditions that an anime could have to be "good". This is not the type of show that would become someone's favorite though? I think the story was really generic, not amazing but it did its job well. The main character was something LOL, I didn't expect him to act like this but I hope we will get to know his origins or something in an upcoming season 2?

Not quite a killing game, but psychological enough that it even got me questioning the characters.
Story: Someone in the main group has a debt that's got to be repaid. Who is it and why? What lengths do they have to go to? This story has many layers to it that you've got to make sure you're paying attention.
Characters: There is a lot of character development in this as well as different sides to the MCs that you may not have expected. What you think of a character the first time you see them is probably not how they actually are! The backstories are pretty good too, but not that detailed.
Style: About the same as any other anime of the time. Nicely detailed and coloured, but still enough for the psychological feels. The music is good too.
Recommendation: Well, if you want the full Tom…

I've rewatched this anime a few times and it's still great, but haven't had the chance to give a review yet.
I recommend this anime for those of you who like mysteries, I think the mystery in this anime is quite good, and is made regularly, so the mystery doesn't look ordinary.
For the character design is very good, although not the best, but I praise this, especially after seeing the style of the manga and anime, this is a good improvement.
For example, like Kokorogi Yutori, I honestly like this character.
It should be noted that before this anime was released, there was already a Live Action first, and after I watched it again, it turned out that there were several scenes that were made differently from the anime.
I'm not someone who likes to read manga or LN so I don't know which is…

Man, where do I start???
First of all, this anime, in my opinion, has the best psychology, so you understand me better, no one makes any mistakes, they all have a genius plan, but some characters have better plans than others, WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT THAN THAT???
Oh, and not to mention the characters, especially the main character Yuuichi Katagiri. Here you can find characters of all kinds, you can't help but be obsessed with at least one character from this anime.
The idea of this anime is an extremely good one, with Tomodachi game or The Friendship Game, the games are very well thought out, and as in each game you ask yourself the question "money or friends?,,.

Finished this anime in 2 days, I really liked the way the story went by and the evolution of yuuichi as a character, this anime is pretty good if you like mind games and manipulation and makes you imagine yourself in the position of the characters, making you wonder which one is the real manipulator or traitor in each situation, also makes you think about a solution for the problems that apear in yuuichi's way. Overall pretty good anime, the animation is good and the art style is really nice, I really enjoyed my time watching this and can't wait for season 2 to be released.

tl;dr: An anime with ups and downs when it comes to it’s games and an overarching plot that while interesting hasn’t quite delivered so far.
This anime is about high stakes games that test friendships. An individual can enter themselves and their friend group into the Tomodachi Game, where they can play various games that give them the chance to pay off their existing debt, gain far more debt, or offload the debt to one of their friends. But because this involves such high sums of money, it inevitably results in friendships being put through a trial by fire and often not surviving the ordeal. The protagonist, Yuuichi, and four of his friends are pulled into such a game, and though he thought they were close friends, it turns out he knew them far less than he thought. Though I suppose that…

It is one of the few Anime whose Opening I actually like. The actual Anime was alright, can't say more unless Season 2's out.
Here's what my friend wants to say
Honestly, this anime has a common story centered on psychological manipulation and trust issues among friends, but it falls short in execution. Predictable plot twists diminish the suspense, though fans of the genre might still find it a bit boring. The art style is fitting but unremarkable, complementing the intense atmosphere without standing out. Characters are kinda dumb, making their interactions predictive. Their reactions to events are mostly same, though sometimes exaggerated. While it may not be universally appealing, those interested in psychological thrillers and social dynamics might appreciate its themes of friendshi…

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW
There has been a trend in the anime industry in the last few years, especially post-pandemic. There is just more and more anime coming out then ever before. Every single season is absolutely packed with a giant flood of (mostly mediocre) shows. Naturally, some shows will fall under the radar and “Tomodachi Game” was one of them for me.
Story – 7/10
This is a classic death game anime, a genre that has been absolutely milked to death in the 2010s, with a lot of infamous examples that range from incredible (“Danganronpa”) to...what did I just watch? (“Euphoria”). Tomodachi Game is somewhere in the middle. The show does not spend any time on trying to explain how the death game comes to be in the first place and rushes right into the plot. Every single game in…

As a fan of "Kaiji," an anime that I hold in high regard for its masterful blend of psychological depth and strategic, I was drawn to "Tomodachi Game" due to its thematic similarities.
My thoughts, categorized into Story and Enjoyment:
Story: 6/10
"Tomodachi Game" wastes no time, plunging viewers directly into the "Friends Game" from the very first episode. This rapid progression, however, comes at a cost. The characters, labeled as "friends," are thrust upon us without background or development, As a result, I didn't feel much tension or understand the significance of their relationships.
Strategy Game: I really liked the games and the rules themselves but the way the games play out and the result is often easy to guess (Predictable)
Psychological: The anime failed to deliver the psyc…

I’ve just finished watching this series, and I decided to take a quick look at the reviews to see if there was a general enjoyment of the show. I was actually quite surprised to find that there are a multitude of reviews expressing their EXTREME dislike for this anime.
Of course, opinions are just that: opinions. And I don’t think there is a series, anime or otherwise, that is liked by absolutely everybody. But a lot of the criticisms of this particular one, I just can’t understand.
First of all, I’ll share my views on Tomodachi Game. As an avid enjoyer of thriller-type drama anime, I was quite pleased with its plot. I am a huge Classroom Of The Elite fan, and this was recommended to me because of that. I had no expectations to enjoy this more than CoTE because I truly believe that anime…

I do not want to write a review on this as i have basically no opinion about this. This show was good at the start and once the twists happened i just got taken out of it. Too much happened than it all just fell flat at one time. The characters arent enjoyable enough to keep me entertained and the CGI creepy fuck looks genuinely terrible. i should probably rate this lower but the first 6 or so episodes were pretty solid and held up the show.
4.5/10 wouldn't really recommend this but if you want to watch it, watch it but dont expect too much.

A fun series of social strategy games, that’s unnecessarily cringe for the edgelord protagonist and unreliable character motivations of everyone around him.
The character motivations of everyone who is not the protagonist, are whatever is required to juke the audience and move the plot along. Sometimes that includes 180 degree turns of character personalities. This betrays the sense that these are real people and friends of the protagonist, which ultimately undermines the tension of their precarious situations, because who cares about characters that don’t seem human, right? Lots of time spent on characters marveling at what a genius the protagonist is and how much that turns them on sexually.
The animation is sub-par.
That being said, the games themselves are creative (when they aren’…

Tomodachi Game, or Classroom of the Somewhat Gifted, is show that in many ways mimics the Squid Games, and pulls it off well enough as to be thoroughly enjoyable. If a little frustrating with its reveals and characterization.
Animation / Art / General Visuals - 7/10
-----------------------------------------------
The show looks fine, but the nature of the setting doesn't leave much room for art or animation to shine. It's not a battle shounen or a fantasy. No real fight scenes or magical effects or the like.
Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 8/10 ------------------------------------------
Pretty good voice acting, and some decent tunes.
Story - 8/10
-------------
One can draw many similarities between this show and the Classroom of the Elite, along with the concept of Squid Games.…
