Honestly an amazing piece of Girls love comedy.
Story -
It teels us about the difference between lovers and friends (in this case women). You can even learn some things about friendship, it really feels like the characters could be real. Problems are not surreal and the solutions to them are also great. Everything is very nicely paced, every episode bring something new. This anime could also be taken as a slice of life, if not for the romantic theme.
Yuri (romance) -
It's not forced and it's not over-exaggerated. It's also fairly improbable, so if you're looking for a 100% true-to-life depiction, look somewhere else. But if you want an engaging story about four women and their dynamic, it's a 10 out of 10. It strikes a perfect balance between what a real-life romance might look like wit…

I love it overall, but i wouldn't recommended to everyone.
Characters are touching and all have a unique personnality with their own problems. All relationship dynamic are great. And to be honest, I don't think it's really an harem like I use to watch.
I love the end game, was manifesting it but didn't expected it.
The animation and art style are okay. After all it's a slice of life, no body expect a full masterpiece of animation.
What I didn't like is every bath scene and agression scene. Like if she say no it's no.. + they are teens. Why every anime have this trope.. I'm getting tired.

Story
The pacing is well-balanced and easy to follow. The progression of the story, especially the relationships between the main character and the supporting cast, is handled naturally. Each episode shows noticeable development in both friendship and romance, making the story engaging throughout.
Characters:
I really like the design of the main character. Her appearance and personality do a great job of reflecting her background and character traits, making her feel memorable and easy to connect with.
Romance:
The romance is both beautiful and heartbreaking. The relationship feels so close to being perfect, yet it never fully comes to fruition, which left me feeling genuinely sad.
Comedy:
The comedy isn't the main focus of the series, as it prioritizes developing the main character and…

The anime is about an indecisive girl who just want to make friends, but cares a lot about what others think of her. It creates a bit of a mess in her relationships for the anime. Her decision by the end does throw me in a loop, but I liked it :D.
This girl be getting girls because she's so earnest in her compliments, lmao.
I don't find a lot of enjoyment watching Yuri animes (I've enjoyed probably a handful so far), despite wanting to watch them, but I enjoyed watching this one. All of them might be noticiable character tropes, but it adds enough of other characteristics to make things interesting.
One of the these characters is Ajisai. Ajisai is the typical cinnamon roll who wants to make everyone happy and takes care of her little brothers. But she can have a temper, too (towards he…

Very funny GL comedy. Explores a surprisingly nuanced consideration of what really makes a desire for connection platonic or romantic in nature. The animation budget isn't that high, but the animators know how to work within it expertly, so you don't notice the cut corners unless you're looking for them. The MC was extremely relatable to me, dealing with relationship problems I've had that I haven't seen represented in other anime. If you're on the mid-toned side of the ace spectrum, you might find some good stuff here. Binged this in two days with finals looming over me and loved every second of it.

Before I could yell, "Just scissor already" I was taken on a sweet, relatable journey of an introvert with abysmal self-esteem attain friends she learns to deeply love and cherish. A combination of refreshing youth, homoerotic tension, and a deep introspection on learning to love yourself to love others. From previews, I thought this would be a straightforward romance. Fortunately, it was not. The anime went to places I never expected, and it was an emotional rollercoaster. Tears often welled in the corner of my eyes, as all of the girls confronted their weaknesses and deapened their individual definition of love. Renako was becoming Rentarou (100 Girlfriends) level brave. Go girl, get that box queen.

How rare is it to actually get a YURI HAREM ANIME? The intro, characters, and enjoyment were there! It's already different from most harems because there isn't some fuckass tsundere character and an overload of fan service! I will say the SA could've been handled differently and I honestly don't care about mai with renako anymore, but I LOVE RENAKO AND AJISAI AND RENAKO AND SATSUKI. Especially in the special, where mai, renako, and ajisai get poly. Not just 2 people loving one, but THEY ALL ARE AJISAI AND MAI TOGETHER AS WELL, AND SATSUKI ASKING TO JOIN. If they all get in a relationship, it will finally solve those ship wars and people getting mad in harems. I'm excited to see how s2 goes >..<

This is a yuri-harem anime with an ending (in episode 17) where Renako chooses her partner. The fact that the author didn't leave the ending open is already a big plus.
I read some "not recommended" reviews and disagreed with all of them. Most people criticized the cast, saying things like "Renako is stupid" or "Mai is abusive" or "Satsuki is insensitive," etc. But guess what? The anime is exactly about that, about five girls full of flaws trying to be something, trying to evolve and learning to deal with their emotions and mistakes. It's an anime about their emotional and sexual maturation journey, which for me ends very satisfactorily.
The structure is clear: 4 episodes per character arc, 4x4 = 16 episodes, and the 17th episode concludes the plot. That's why Kaho doesn't have mu…

I was put off at first by the harem effect and this childish, kind of unrealistic game they put in place in the main pairing, having a kind of friendship vs love battle. I watched one episode and dropped it. But recently I had nothing to watch and I decided to give it a second try. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
The main character ended up to be quite relatable in the end and this weird game they play all start to make sense when you realise she is struggling and fighting an inner battle to finally get her first friends and live a 'normal' student life. I had similar social anxiety and struggles at some point and a very blurry concept of what friendship and love are as well. She doesn't want to get her new life 'stollen' into a love relationship she barely started and she doesn…

Now this anime's name is to long so I will just be calling it Muri muri I dont care what the formal nickname is ;p.
Muri Muri is a lesbian harem anime wherein our Mc is Amaori Renako tries to turn a new life by behaving like ab extrovert to finally get a friends unlike her middle school life wherein she was a video game playing introvert lonely loser. But all her friends: the shining model and smart, Oozuki Mai; the strict cold academically achieving and rival of Oozuki Mai, Koto Satsuki; Good willed and kind, Sena Ajisai (there this gremlin green girl but no romace happens in this anime's 12 ep) end up falling for her wanting to be Renako's girlfriend while Renako only wanted to be their buddy and have lots of friends not girl friends.
Now all the an…

Unless you are yuri aficionado there's no reason to watch this show, and even for those you enjoy yuri genred there are plenty other yuri, or yuri-coded shows that do things better.
The basic plot setup is your classic harem show - introverted MC enters a new environment and is suddenly overwhelmed by beautiful girls who see MC's inner goodness and want to be with her. Which wouldn't be bad per say, in fact I don't think there are that many harem yuri shows, but the writing is just bad.
Characters aren't anything special and most of them are quite surface level. The authors clearly seen how "conflicted character" looks in media and wanted to imitate that but the execution just felt through. Also the setups our MC find's herself in are one of the worse in the genre. The show isn't askin…

There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… is perhaps the best outcome you could hope for from a first-time director with very little experience under their belt. The pacing rides a fine line between quick & peppy, and rushed beyond all reason, with the first four episodes being the most extreme example of this. I do care about the events happening on screen and feel for the characters acting them out, but so much dialogue is spat out so quickly that I often found my eyes glazing over and vaguely searching for whatever the general gist of a given conversation is. Thankfully, the production itself is mostly strong enough to carry me through the awkwardly fast pacing. It’s got that usual hyper-pastel color palette you’ve seen before, but the colors themselves are balanced beautifull…

My personal philosophy is that most works of fiction are good enough if they manage to gain any sort of notoriety but that still most of them aren't something that you should go out of your way to watch.
This series is the epitome of that, it's a nice series and the first chapter has very, very good animation even if the series goes to a standard anime quality when it settles latter. Even if for that first episode, I think that if you are reading this review you should give it a try.
I went into this anime completely blind, I didn't even know it was Yuri but when I discovered it was a harem then I was quite disappointed. I just don't think harem stories can be done well, and certainly this one dropped the ball in multiple fronts. But the romance with the first girl is very, very good, an…

Oh to be a lesbian with game like Renako... Watanare is the first yuri focused media I've ever interacted with and it just so happened to be soon after I realized I'm not fully male myself, so there's a lot of gender envy with the characters here and there.
Surprisingly all characters are likeable and it's hard to choose which one would be the best for Renako, some even seem to be more romantically matching with each other rather than with her. It's a really cute love... square? or perhaps even a full-blown poly. It leaves you wishing to see all 5 of the girls together and happy. A lovely watch that I'd recommend to all yuri lovers and fellow introverts out there, I'm sure you will find Renako relatable to you like I did.

A complete waste of time, and insult to viewers who stayed for the total 17 episodes!
What in the world did I just watch.......
This is a yuri harem anime, that has a terrible story (while interesting contemporary takes on feelings), This anime really does not dive deep enough into any cast member, and often prioritizes throwing the previous story to the wayside to throw another girl into this harem, takes precedence over any form of narrative or emotional attachment or bond built in the previous episode.
With the sequel eps 13-17 being a giant anti-climatic let down, the main interest that is sold in the first season is just a massive insult to the viewers time.
Visuals - solid
Music - meh
Animation - decent
Story - awful
characters - 1 dimensional

Do not fall into the Yuri trap like I did.
Overall this anime was an incredible let-down, it fails at being both a Romance and a Comedy, which is unfortunate because I actually thought I was gonna enjoy it, the plot and themes may very enticing for anyone who is like me, but I hope to let others know through this review to not commit the same mistake of watching Watanare.
I'll separate my thoughts about it on multiple categories so that I can at least give it some sort of compliment
Writing (2/10)
My main gripe with this show. The episodes feel like they alternated from endless chatter that tries to have a deep narrative behind it and episodes where stuff happens for no reason. Jokes always fell flat, even if the visuals had potential no visual gag was accompanied by a well written jok…

This is a Yuri. And reasonably good one as the genre is concerned. At least it starts strong. It is funny and has likable characters. Art, character design and animation is also good.
My issue is I think they went on too long. I felt they could have ended in 4 episodes. Or maybe had two different OVAs or two different movies. Or maybe just split it into 3 OVAs or 3 movies.
While the show starts strong but I felt it ended with a whimper?! I also need to mention I was bored so I skipped 1-2 episode and went to the last episode to see the finale. The only way I can make sense of the ending is maybe the show was really about the main characters character development and the ending signified her growth from all the experience she gained from the entire show.
I am not recommending this to jus…

Have you ever seen a rom-com that does whatever the hell it wants? Where every scene exudes an outrageous, yet refreshing charm? Look no further than Watanare, an explosion of over-the-top yuri romance and comedy that will suck you in with zero apologies.
Watanare’s characters carry the show. Renako, the main character, is a socially anxious girl who rebranded herself as an extrovert in high school. There, she befriends other girls who are … interesting, to say the least. We meet Mai, an overconfident high school model with the balls to confess to Renako one day after becoming friends. There’s Ajisai, an angel who shows nothing but kindness to everyone. Then there’s Satsuki, Mai’s childhood friend, with a desire to finally beat Mai and knock her off her pedestal. And of course, all of the…

This show turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises of the season. I originally checked it out half-jokingly, “Oh, another yuri anime,” wondering if it would lean toward the spicy drama type like Citrus or the slow-burn type of Bloom Into You. To my surprise, Watanare ended up being far better than both (hopefully this is not a controversial opinion).
The production quality is outstanding: The animation, as well as both the opening and ending themes, are visually stunning and memorable. The opening in particular strikes the perfect balance between trendy and heartfelt, making it both social-media-friendly and an exciting introduction to the story.
The anime follows a “one girl per arc” structure, but what sets it apart from other romance shows is Renako’s genuine character grow…

i dont really think any media has to be objectively good and well written to enjoy it. if you are able to ignore all of the unrealistic and inconsistent sides it's so fun to engage in any type of media really. i had so much fun watching the girls being genuine to each other. the art style was good, music was good; character designs were generic, but theres no way that means it's bad.
but if there's one reason i really liked this anime, it's because it treated its girls with such respect. i often find myself disgusted when i try to watch most romance animes in any kind. but i was really suprised this anime was not like that. girls had actual personalities, they had boundries, ecchi scenes were so realistic and genuine and not exaggerated or objectified, girls were not objectified or disre…
