Ajin: Demi-Human

Ajin: Demi-Human

Introduction

Mysterious immortal humans known as "Ajin" first appeared 17 years ago in Africa. Upon their discovery, they were labeled as a threat to mankind, as they might use their powers for evil and were incapable of being destroyed. Since then, whenever an Ajin is found within society, they are to be arrested and taken into custody immediately. Studying hard to become a doctor, Kei Nagai is a high schooler who knows very little about Ajin, only having seen them appear in the news every now and then. Students are taught that these creatures are not considered to be human, but Kei doesn't pay much attention in class. As a result, his perilously little grasp on this subject proves to be completely irrelevant when he survives an accident that was supposed to claim his life, signaling his rebirth as an Ajin and the start of his days of torment. However, as he finds himself alone on the run from the entire world, Kei soon realizes that more of his species may be a lot closer than he thinks. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The full on war between a minority and a majority that wants to hunt down the minority and do whatever they want with them is the main and first appeal of this anime that you will notice from the first episode. Along with the general rogueness of how the protagonist acts, then you will appreciate how this anime plotline is written. Not to say it is completely perfect, the anime has some interesting but sometimes mesmerizing(Not in the ideal way) visuals and animation styles plus techniques which may make it hard to watch sometimes for some. However, if you enjoy warring facts dishing it out where on want to subjugate fully the other, then this is the anime which many of you will enjoy if you usually enjoy (race) wars.

Extremely generic anime. It uses an interesting system of power, but does not elaborate or develop it, nor does it take advantage of its potential in fights. By the way, the fights are extremely predictable, both in terms of outcome and progress. The 3D is mediocre, not because of the style chosen in the adaptation, but because of the execution or perhaps the budget. As for the characters, they are quite forgettable apart from the protagonist, and the extremely superficial way in which the author approaches the bonds is regrettable... The plot's biggest effort in this regard was to try to humanize the lady that the protagonist had a certain affection for, but that was it. It's normal for a work to be simpler or "rushed" because it's short, but that's no excuse for being mediocre, and Aji…

I originally started watching this anime because there was so much hype around it at the time, especially on YouTube, where everyone seemed to be talking about it. The first episode genuinely impressed me, largely thanks to an amazing action scene that set a high bar and pulled me in right away. That excitement carried me through the first few episodes, but my enthusiasm soon began to fade. Unfortunately, the following action scenes never quite reached the same level as the opening, and I started noticing that the animation style felt more and more awkward, almost distracting at times. But what really pushed me away was the main character. It’s hard to connect with them; they come across as genuinely unpleasant and frustrating in so many ways, which made my experience with the show even le…

Ah, this show had so much potential: Unique and beautiful animation, interesting concept, a very cool vibe, the main character Kei is intriguing. He keeps track of his "friends" in his phone as "Friend 1," "Friend 2," etc., lol, because he is quite the sociopath. He has only one friend, to whom he no longer speaks because it would be a detriment to his social standing at school to do so, but when the shit hits the fan, that friend is the only person who's there for him, and Kei ends up making an incredible sacrifice inspired by him. Is Kei managing to break through his sociopathy and grow as a person?? wonders the viewer. Kei is making his way back to his friend when he gets very temporarily waylaid ... and then he and the show both completely forget about this friend and he is literally…

Ajin's first season introduces an anime centered on intensity and intrigue, presenting noteworthy action sequences and a well-paced narrative. The action scenes are well choreographed, providing an explosive and entertaining experience with dynamic and fluid movements, thanks to the utilization of computer-generated character animation. However, the CG style may not appeal to all viewers, potentially presenting a challenge for those accustomed to traditional animation techniques. While it integrates smoothly into the series, some contemporary anime fans might find the visuals unappealing. The plot of Ajin relies heavily on action and suspense to advance the story, sometimes at the expense of character development. While characters' motivations are present, they could benefit from deeper ex…

REVIEW (for the 2 seasons): An anime with a very interesting proposal and story and a captivating villain. What gets in the way a little is the 3D animation, which was still emerging as a new animation technique, causing some initial strangeness, but there is fluidity in the movement. The characters and the story develop well, with development in the characters and deepening in the antagonists. Dealing with more serious matters, with a good Seinen. The action happens in a good measure, in a well-choreographed way and with several heavy scenes. ___________ REVIEW (para as 2 temporadas): Um anime com uma premissa e uma história muito interessantes e com um vilão cativante. O que atrapalha um pouco é a animação em 3D, que ainda estava surgindo como uma tecnica nova de animação, causando uma…

Ajin has a lot going for it, but the characters are undoubtedly the best part. Kei Nagai, the protagonist, is a regular kid who desires a normal life, but fate has other plans for him. As the story progresses, we realize that there's something different about him. As his sister describes him, he's cold, logical, and a jerk. He's the kind of guy who will leave you behind if you're of no use to him. Despite that, he reluctantly helps others from time to time. Mr. Sato, on the other hand, is a cool and composed man with a kind demeanor, but don't let that fool you; he's dangerous. One of the most intriguing characters is Izumi, an Ajin who works with the government to capture other Ajin. She works as Tosaki's bodyguard, and it's mentioned that Tosaki saved her from enduring countless barbaric…

I'll be honest, I like the 3D animation. It took me a while to get used to it, but it's not terrible to me. And I'm an artist myself. It's not out of pity or something stupid like that, I genuinely liked the way it looked and felt throughout the show. As for the actual show, I watched it after watching TG seasons one and two and wow was it refreshing. The entire show itself is pretty refreshing overall. There is less of a focus on our main; Kei which is nice and allows you to really see the whole picture from everyone else's pov. The character design is simple but it fits the feel of it all. Satou is a really good villain too. The kind that doesn't fudge around, which makes it all the more entertaining. Also, I have to mention that I just love the whole "omg there is some scary mutant…

Will definitely recommend this anime to anyone looking for a great and entertaining story. Although the art style is kind of ruining the absolute value of this masterpiece. You will not regret watching this dark gem. 1. Story: Amazing. The story is captivating and won't waste a single frame to tell what it needs to tell. Characters are there for a reason and not just fillers. The Hero/Villain's reasons and convictions are pretty clear. A complete story. 2 points 2. Directing: Captivating. 2 points. 3. Art: Well, what can I say CGI is just not my cup of tea you know, but the CGI isn't that bad. 1 point 4. Characters: What can I say, brilliant and likable, both heroes and villains. 1 point 5. Personal preference: I like dark stories. I like it when the author doesn't beat around the bus…

This review is for Part 1 of the series, which aligns closely with the mange until the final two episodes. Ajin: Demi-Human takes place in modern society, except some people have the power to regenerate after they die. The story is intense and posits many questions about persecution and social challenges. Overall, the anime is an excellent sci-fi story. This story is definitely dark, so it may not be suitable for younger anime fans or anyone looking to try anime for the first time. Story: 7/10 The plot of the story is unique and intriguing: It takes elements of sci-fi and modern society to illustrate a witch hunt or persecutory me…

Ajin is the first and my favorite anime I've seen in 3D animation, I must say it's pretty good. I watched all episodes in one row. The whole story is interesting and it's definitely worth to watch. I'm very excited for the 2nd season. I see a lot of negative reviews because of the animation but I would say it's a matter of taste. It didn't bother me so. For me the animation is special and I will always remember this anime because of this. Overall i would say 10/10, because I have nothing to complain except Kei Nagai he's a baka

Though I had some mixed feelings at the start, Ajin proved to be a good show with an excellent, terminatoresque antagonist. With the brilliant and charismatic antagonist, it kind of felt like Death Note if the show had been from the perspective of someone other than Light. While the main character's seemingly sociopathic view of others makes him annoying at times, the loveable other characters make up for him. The animation style is unorthodox and takes some getting used to, but can be gorgeous at times, and I liked it since the characters showed more subtle facial movements and expressions than in typical anime. The action in this show is great, and the fight scenes always got me pumped. The soundtrack is amazing, and I'm in love with the theme song. It always set the mood in the show.…

If you are refusing to watch this anime because of the animation, or because someone said the animation is garbage, you’re really missing out. This is a full CGI anime, there are a few others out there but unfortunately, CGI in anime has been largely frowned upon especially with all the nasties it brought along with it like Berserk and the recent Ex-Arm (holy hell, I need bleach for my eyes after witnessing such horrors). But lest we forget, CGI also brought us the goods like Land of Lustrous, Promare and many more good and decent anime. Ajin is undoubtedly one of the good ones and is up there in terms of CGI animation. The character models look good, expressions look realistic and the movement is live like and not unnatural. It’s everything a CGI anime should be except my one qualm whic…

"tHiS aNiME is BaD BecAuSe 3D" Yes. It's a meme, the animation is bad. People feel a need to over sensationalize how the animation isn't good because they're using 3D image wraps. The actual art, the background art, lighting, music, and voice acting is all pretty great. Infact, for a 3D anime, I think a good portion of it looks pretty nice, especially season 2, episode 6 and 7. The characters are fun and interesting, even if comically exaggerated at times. I kept finding myself falling in love with characters who are just the absolute worst types of people who have virtually no redeeming qualities in terms of morality. The story is a giant jumbled fun to follow mess of crazy psychotic non-sense that just gets better every moment. The pacing is pretty incredible considering it's a mang…

How Ajin keeps your attention is through it's constant action. In nearly every episode, especially in the second season, there is always some sort of battle or physical conflict. Every episode is adrenaline pumping action. The drawback to this approach is that character development and sometimes story believability is compromised. Characters can seem very overpowered for no reason, and most only do actions that further action and conflict without considering different solutions. The show attempts to explore the psyche of the MC but they go in different directions and really trip over themselves in the attempt but try at the very end to somehow tie everything together. This is NOT a show for delving into the psychological or philosophical aspects of being an Ajin. Try to imagine Shiki but…

Recommended to me by someone very close, I promised I will one day watch "Ajin". While I can't really say that "Ajin" is bad... It isn't really anything special. Whole thing feels very generic. We are introduced to our main character who is perfectly described by his sister as trash. At the half of the series we start thinking that the series is about him becoming a better person, but no, he just remains trash till the end. Animation has it's moments, and I'm torn between thrashing it and praising it. At points it feels like a PS1 game, and at times it's pretty nice, but I still don't prefer it over traditional animation. It really hurts when you jump from "Dragon Ball Z" to something like this. Opening and ending theme are pretty nice. As characters are considered, you know you failed in…

This is one of my favorite anime, because it makes sense. I didn't the 3d style they went with but I'm not a 2D simp that would trash such a masterpiece for not being in 2D. The characters are so deep and their personalities so versatile that it's no backstory is required for me to understand what they went through and why they are doing what they are doing. Unlike average anime where everyone is having happy coincidences, this anime makes it so real that it gave me goosebumps. Ajin contributed in my personal development and whoever says that this anime is bad they are utter trash of humanity, human trash I would call them.

One of the only 3D anime I've ever watched and certainly the only one that didn't make my eyes bleed. Although I still think it would have looked a lot better in 2D the 3D wasn't the end of the world and it still managed to portray the story well enough, its definitely not a strong suit for the show though. As for the story, Its very interesting with lots of cliff hangers and plot twists but all well thought out. The manga still did it better in my opinion but the anime was still fun to watch and the Opening is just a banger. The characters are interesting and multifaceted and the main character is really an enigma in the world of anime protagonists, certainly different from the norm. The Villain is also well thought out and works really well with the narrative. The series is above a gener…

( No Spoliers ) First of all , Reviews are based on one's preferences and own interests so what I am writing will never ever be 100% for all people simply because we are different . Second thing , the main reason why many of anime lovers aren't watching Ajin is because of the art . We (I am included ) are used to the 2D techniques in anime so if I found a 3D one I will not watch it .BUT I have to say that AJIN is different . TOTALLY DIFFERENT . I can't deny that I started to watch it mainly because I know that Mamoru Miyano ( death note's yagami Light 's voice actor ) is the main character in the anime and when you watch a lot of animes you will become an expert concerning voice actors . you will know the best voice actors and watch all their works blindly without even thinking . that's Ma…

It's a shame that such a passable concept was ruined with such violently bad animation. I'm not stuck up enough to think that I could do better, and I understand that talented people probably put a lot of work into making this anime look the way it does, but I think they're all in the wrong business. It's not even the FPS and speeding it up doesn't make it look any less terrible. The animation doesn't look like anime; it looks like one of those free video animation sites that we all used in high school to make presentations. It looks like an artificial intelligence was given a basic summary and a 3D rendering program to animate the show with. It's so clunky, the movements are erratic, and its overacted. This is the first time I have watched a show and have only been able to focus on how…
