The horror genre is tragically sparse when it comes to anime. It's nice to be surprised by gems like this one every once in awhile. This isn't your average story. The vibe really reminds me of playing through the game Clocktower 3. About a seemingly defenseless girl moving through a ruined building while evading serial killers and solving puzzles. With a premise like this, the themes are pretty heavy and some of the scenes can be difficult to watch. In addition, none of the characters are meant to be the least bit likeable. It's very clear that everyone in the show is awful. These are the threads used to weave an unorthodox and atmospheric tale about lies, facing the truth, making promises, and agency.
I highly recommend this show if you are a fan of the horror genre or just looking for s…

Its an interesting concept that falls apart a bit quickly.
Its about a girl named Rachel who has resigned to death.
And a deranged serial killer Zack who wants to escape a multifloored building with a psychopath on each floor.
Zack promised to kill Rachel if she helps him escape.
Sounds pretty cool. But here are the problems.
First of all what are the stakes? She wants to die anyway. And he is a deranged serial killer...So why should I care?
Its just that she's chosen to be killed by him specifically because they created a bond based on first come first serve.
The second problem is that the anime takes place in one building. So every background is a wall. And another wall. And another wall.
The psychopaths constantly monologue instead of killing the main characters which inevitably res…

Watched this anime way back in 2020, from what i remember the show is actually somewhat dark and the two lead characters who start off as rivals agree to team up and attempt to escape the crazy building that they're stuck in.
I rated this show a solid 8/10 because I enjoyed the characters and the story was literally so unpredictable (in a good way). I felt like the storyline was actually unique and since it was so unpredictable it made me want to binge watch the entire series. I'm actually surprised this anime got such a mediocre rating because I felt like it was a super enjoyable watch especially if you're into psychological horror lol.
If you're someone thats kinda slow and needs information to be spoon fed to you then I definitely wouldn't recommend this anime to you. :)

This was one of those anime I simply couldn’t stop watching. I binged the entire thing in a single day because every episode pulled me deeper into its dark, unsettling, yet strangely beautiful atmosphere. The story had this haunting charm that made it impossible to look away, and the dynamic between the characters kept me completely hooked from start to finish. I didn’t expect it to hit me so hard emotionally, but it absolutely did. There were scenes that broke me, scenes that made me cry, and moments that stayed with me long after I finished it. Even with all the chaos, fear, and tension, there’s something incredibly captivating about the way the story unfolds.
I genuinely loved it, every twist, every emotional moment, every bit of the strange bond between the characters. It’s the kind o…

It's been a while since I watched the anime, but I love it just as much as ever.
The storyline is quite confusing at the beginning. You don't really know what's going on and why, although it's gradually clarified over time, it was still difficult for me to understand, which is my only criticism.
The anime was captivating, and I couldn't get enough of it. It just never got boring, and I wanted to know what was behind everything that was happening.
The anime wasn't only interesting, but it also evoked emotions in me. Especially the ending, which left me crying.
The voice actors also did a wonderful job.
I would really recommend the anime to anyone who likes thrillers, light mysteries, and psychological games. The anime doesn't really contain any romance, but there are a few scenes th…

I dont like to write reviews on public spaces cause people get mad over them lol (Spoiler free i think?)
But i gotta say here, It is CRIMINAL that this has such a low score??
Its not perfect, but the way it handels ths psycology withing the characters, the concept itself, the religious psychosis that rachel has, idk, its incredibly well portrayed and its 100% original concept, ive never seen a series so "weird"
Yeah there are things for dramatic effect that kinda ruin the seriousness but its a show, its gotta have funny things
Im too lazy to write anything long or good, but i bascally think that this series has a low rating bc of either 3 things
1. Open ending (not really tbh) but many people hate it 4 some reason
2. Maybe its not the same as the game? idk i havent played it. but i…

Well, where to start. One plus is this show is for sure unique in it's feel, pacing, and design. When I found out this was based on a game maker horror game, it all made sense. PErsonally I haven't dived into those type of games, but I understand the concept. They are usually low res top down games that rely heavily on the plot to carry the experience. For horror, it usually comes down to having some twist, or a bunch of shocking stuff to keep the player interested. It's not my cup of tea, but I understand.
I went on a bit of a tangent, but this show basically feels like playing that type of game. It has them going inot rooms trying to solve puzzles while they go through different floors and need to defeat the boss. The main characters have a bit of charm, but it's not enough to carry the…

An impressive psychological horror with a lot of tension. The beginning throws us into a mysterious closed environment with a few characters, which I love. The behavior of the individual characters keeps the viewer in suspense, anticipation and a sense of deception, and the exams on the individual floors are rather uninteresting, but they work as a background element that keeps things going. The atmosphere could be cut with a scythe in places and I have to appreciate the music here, especially the beginning of the ending, which I found fabulous every episode. However, I would prefer to describe this entire anime with the words "psychologically disturbed", but at the same time brutally engaging. I then perceive the finale itself as a deserved and successful ending to this story.

The anime took a dip in the middle, between episodes 5-9, and then improved. I personally didn't mind too much, as it was adapted from a game, and in the game, the pace really does slow down.
I noticed very few parts cut from the game, but overall, they followed the original material closely, improving what they could, especially Rachel's expressions. Seriously, she expressed a lot.
But look, it's not that she had a bad expression in the game. She just had her own inexpressive way of being presented differently by the game's creator.
I really like the color palette, and the characters make me feel like I'm back in 2013-2014. It's a really cool feeling.
The soundtrack is very effective, with themes for each character, and some of them have been adapted to an improved version of what alr…

If they didn't yap so much it would be shorter and better. Basically they need to "sybau" and get to the point also how does he have the scythe at the end? Is it js a schizo dream, if so thats worse. The only reedemable thing about this anime is unironically the end it was kinda cute.
I gotta take advice from this show and yap more in order to publish this review. -_- Watch in 2x speed during the dialogue parts and its bareable otherwise it is so slow its unbearable annoying I feel like the same conversation is talked about every episode someone needs to make a comp of this show but new information not "zack kill me" "i will if you smile bbg" "ok sky daddy"

This anime strives to make one sympathize with a serial killer and a young girl who desecrates corpses and succeeds. It is certainly not for the faint of heart as it does veer into the territory of questioning if a person should be able to choose to be killed by someone. The characters are mentally unstable and seemingly irrational, but they are human. They are not characters one should look up to and neither is the relationship between Zack and Rachel. They each choose their fate and lives and decide their relationship. Neither is forcing the other to do something against their will. It is such an interesting dynamic as it reveals a deeply abnormal and problematic relationship that still involves both people seeing each other as equals and bettering themselves through their relationship.…

The story to this anime is very unique. I enjoyed every second of this and it never got boring or old. Every episode was well thought out and it was very nice to watch, I love the characters and the character development.
The art style complements the dark atmosphere of the story, it effectively captures the scenes and settings of the story very well.
Character development is a very big part of this as Rachels innocents and kindness goes well with Zacks brute and harsh tones, making him softer and bring his innocence back.
This anime might not resonate with everybody, but i do think everybody should give it a chance. The blend of character driven storytelling and suspenseful plot twists will likely appeal to those who enjoy a deeper exploration of themes like morality and survival. Howeve…

Okay so to start fresh it's edgy reeeeeeal edgy so edgy in fact people call it cringe. Which I can understand when most of the dialogue is the mc talking about god or how she wants the male protag to kill her. Is it worth it tho. Absoschmutely it's a banger animation and VAs it's all good. Reminded me of Deadman's wonderland. I love the RPGmaker storytelling and I will probably play the game in the future. The horror is really subtle probably went out after ep1 for me but still it has eerie atmosphere the whole time and it is at some point a psychological horror apart for being a normal murder horror most of the time Watch it if you are not fragile liberal.

Angels of Death is a series I have revisited over the years to varying degrees of enjoyment, catching things I didn't before, and even understanding things better as I've grown older. It has always been a comfort series for me to rewatch and just enjoy. But as of the fourth time watching this, and after playing the RPG Maker game it was based on, I do believe that it does not utilize its medium of anime rather than video game to the fullest potential it could have had. Nonetheless, it still improves vastly in all sorts of other ways, having its own memorable soundtrack, stellar voice acting, and good direction.
The story and characters are extremely unique to anything else anime has to offer. A cast of entirely killers, psychopaths, and lunatics in a world where the worst sides of humans a…

Horror is a sparsely populated genre of anime, which is a shame. A good horror series can offer creative concepts, a gripping story, compelling drama and moments of high emotion. Unfortunately, Angels of Death offers none of these things. Instead, this anime presents a mind-numbing barely-plot featuring a cast of characters the audience never properly gets to know and that not even the series itself seems to care about, thinly varnished with superficial allusions to Christianity. This is a series that wants be perceived as cool and meaningful and perhaps even deep, but which puts in none of the required effort to actually be so.
Angels of Death is a series based on an RPG Maker game and it shows. The bulk of the anime consists of the lead characters, Rachel and Zack, ponderously navigatin…

I wasn't actually sure if I was going to like this show or not, but I had seen a good review about it on tiktok and decided to give it a shot! If you are someone who finds yourself liking horror, gore, and dark themes twisted with a bit of sick romantic tension, then this show is definitely for you! I enjoyed learning about each character, and seeing how each problem was handled. The only reason I didn't give it a higher rating is because there were definitely some parts of the show that could have been worked on/elaborated/explained in a better way. However, I do really like this show, and when I was done watching it I definitely felt like I wanted more! Which, in my book is probably one of the best compliments I could give to a show!

I appreciate the anime's story, message, and plot. However, it's not executed well. The initial episodes grabbed my attention, where Rachel Gardner was stuck in a deadly building. I enjoyed the mystery/thriller theme. However, the rest of the show was just her wishing she were dead after witnessing a gruesome murder. She doesn't want to keep living, and she makes that known when she meets Zack and asks him to kill her. Her negative attitude draws Zack's attention to her, and he becomes interested. The anime sometimes seems like it might become predictable or pointless, but the characters' attitudes never change from start to finish. Rachel always wants to die, and Zack always wants to kill. Zack needs Rachel's intelligence to escape the dungeon. Even though Rachel may want to die, she is r…

Satsuriku no Tenshi is a strange mix of psychological horror and mystery. It's hard to give it a blanket recommendation, but there's certainly something to interest some folks.
Animation / Art / General Visuals - 7/10
-----------------------------------------------
It's no shounen anime, and the environments don't leave much room for impressive visuals. It is simply solid across the board with nothing to really offend the eyes.
Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 8/10 ------------------------------------------
Voices and music are good. OP's and ED's are quite good, with some decent OST stuff mixed within the show.
Story - 6/10

I guess it's alright, assuming I actually "get" what they were cooking.
The theme focuses heavily around the notions of crime, especially the m…

The anime itself is a passable average anime, the plot of which wants to seem very complex and weighty, but, in my opinion, it is very simple and romantic and should not cause much interest. And the number of different blunders only worsens the opinion of the anime while watching it. Like, for example, one (and thank God) school mathematical equation in the fifth series, the answer to which is not only incorrect, but the equations themselves are written incorrectly. And I can understand if for most this will not be a problem at all, but for me it simply shows the author’s attitude towards the viewer and his attitude towards his own creativity.
But I would like to note the main advantage of the name – the music. There are both pleasant ones with a lot of spatial processing, and in 21 Get…

(This review mentions the game and manga, and to clarify the game did come out before the anime and the manga started before the anime was released as well.)
Satsuriku No Tenshi, aka Angels of Death was a decent anime but both the game and manga were definitely better. You could tell that with both the game and manga that care, time, effort, and passion were put into it but I feel like the anime lost the uniqueness that the other two adaptations of the story had. Besides giving the series the basic anime style we are used to usually despite the game and even the manga having a unique style, it glosses over certain story elements and basically rushes through everything, which could also be due to how the series was limited to sixteen episodes but even then, the series still could have done…
