📌 I will be lightly referring to season 2 and the manga in my review as the story is complete with both seasons of the anime. 📌
I read the manga years ago and the anime served as a decent refresher. For manga readers, I don't recommend the anime to enjoy as it is. It cuts out a lot of the character chapters that help build Class E and little detail to quicken the pacing.
If you haven't read the manga at all, I think you can watch season 1 blindly, then refer to the internet to pick up the skipped chapters. Afterwards, I wouldn't bother with season 2.
Note : The latest movie "Our Time" covers the missing character chapters but you can't watch this between seasons / after season 1 as the context is that the students are going down memory lane before S2's finale so there's minor spoilers…

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu is one of those shows that surprises you with how heartfelt it can be. Beyond the comedy and action, it’s really about the bond between a teacher and his students. The care, affection, and guidance Koro‑sensei gives them feels incomparable, and the series captures that relationship beautifully. The ending carries a sharp irony—it’s sad, but it also teaches an important lesson about impermanence and growth.
Most of the dialogues are strong and memorable, though a few episodes feel like they could have been written with more impact. Even so, the overall experience is rewarding. It’s a story that mixes humor, emotion, and lessons in a way that makes it worth every minute. Definitely an anime I’d recommend watching.

This anime so good that it seems like a warm hug.
Maybe I'm biased to say this because I watched this anime during the final year of high school, personally the best time to see something like this, when everything that matters is a mere entrance exam score (at least for the lucky ass myself).
I also fatasized about being a teacher during that time...
The series focuses practically on its strong characters and the story, as well as the well-written development of both.
Anyhow, aside from the fact that I’m biased, this show seems to me like a good show most of people would enjoy and totally worth at least a watch try.
Please go watch it and say to me that I'm right!!

Assassination Classroom is about Class 3-E who are assigned a new teacher, Koro-sensei, a yellow octopus who can move at Mach speed with ease. The twist? They have to kill him before they graduate or else the world will be destroyed. This season delves into the relationships with Koro and his students.
To start with a pro, the premise itself was very interesting. Every episode has Koro teaching the kids new ways to try and kill him or refining things they might struggle with. Naturally, this gives Koro room to build relationships with a lot of the students. I think Koro-sensei was definitely the best character of this season, his personality paired with the obvious bond he had with his students always kept me engaged with his character.
I think the comedy is pretty solid, but it can miss…

So I've been aware for a while about Assassination Classroom but I was always curious how they'd manage to make Korosensei both likeable enough to be a likeable character while also making him "detestable enough" to make us want to see him dead
Idk if they succeeded at making us want him dead but I can at least understand where they are coming from and he's a great character.
I just think this show is really funny but it can also be heartfelt when it wants to be.
I think this show's biggest problem is simply that a classroom is too many characters, especially when there are multiple extra teachers they have to balance on top of Korosensei and the 20 students.
I feel like Nagisa and Karma are really the only ones who get all that much development outside of a token episode. And, like, t…

Watch this show! That's my quick recommendation, watch it because its good.
Why? My answer is down below.

This show is one of my favorite simple shows out there. It has lots of the basic anime tropes (school festivals, beach episodes, the study arc, the episodes where the characters gets mad at each other, that one episode...., etc.) but this shows just brings them out perfectly. One thing that I love about this show is that a lot of the characters matter, from the beginning to the end, from the first episodes till the end.
I watched Naruto few years back, around 2022 and I liked it. It has lots of different plot lines, good characters, the fun main character. But when I heard from people complaining that the other character…

Assassination Classroom is a series I personally enjoy. The first season was mostly about comedy and getting to know the characters, and I think it was quite good.
Story:
Class 3-E is an assassination classroom, and their target is their teacher, Koro-sensei. If they cannot kill him by graduation, the world will be destroyed.
Ratings:
Story: 7.5/10
Art/Animation: 8/10
Characters: 7.5/10
Overall Enjoyment: 8/10
Conclusion:
If the premise interests you, definitely watch it. The story deepens significantly, especially in the second season. Those who give it low ratings are usually people who don't like comedy or find the plot too simple; however, I believe this was a great comedy series.
Enjoy the show...

+okay gimmick
+short
+good main character (koro-sensei)
-gimmick becomes overplayed
-writing
The main gimmick of "they are in highschool BUT..." is okay, but it gets overplayed as the series kind of drags on. Simple story, not very unique with horrible pacing and a mediocre season end. The art is just unremarkable, I will not remember any of these characters a week from now. The only one worth anything is Koro-sensei the alien dude. The dub's sound is just fine, again nothing really memorable but not offensive. There was little character growth, some of the characters bleed together. I wouldn't probably recommend this to anyone. I did not hate watching it though.

I watched it in april/2021 and until today I think this anime is CRIMINALLY underrated.
The narrative is so unique and the characters are just so captivating that it makes you want to dive even deeper into the series. About the characters, it might be a bit of a stretch to say this BUT with such a big cast (literally an entire class + teachers) I think that 85% of the characters are very interesting in some way, and honestly I'm holding myself back to not make this review a love letter to some characters lol... Obviously npt everyone will get similar amounts of screentime but that is natural!
Animation-wise it has a good character design and OK scenery and action, nothing too special but it is still very enjoyable to watch
Talking about a more personal point of view, this show really m…

This anime is extremely overrated. If you haven't seen it, then yes, you should probably watch it since its somewhat of a staple in the anime world. However, this is borderline average as a show. Plot armour is everywhere. The stakes are often presented as high, but you will not be on the edge of your seat. The saving grace for this show is the characters, but most of them get sidelined, even the protagonist of the show, has the ability to feel like a side-character with the exception of a few episodes. Overall Im disappointed, since it was such an interesting concept, with an interesting premise, but just an uninteresting story.

The only reason you would want to touch this show is because you have nothing else to watch
I actually don’t understand why people like this show, I wouldn’t even recommend this to Saddam Hussein.
This has to be one of the incomprehensible shows of all time and I can’t fathom its narrative decisions for so. This show makes Game of Thrones season eight look good, The Rise of Skywalker is a 10/10 movie for me after watching this. For being a comedy it’s criminally unfunny, watching it long enough will give you Stockholm syndrome. This is one of those anime you put on to make fun of and nothing more. It’s like watching Twilight as an adult.
This show is a toddler trying to wear size 12 shoes but anytime it walks it falls flat.

Being an anime from quite a long while ago, I got through Season 1 between 5th and 7th July 2025. The plot revolves around a mysterious alien or some other kind of unknown entity who has annihilated the moon and threatens to replicate the same act on Earth in a year's time. Rather than directly attacking, this strange being becomes the homeroom teacher of Class E and strangely starts training the students to become assassins in order to kill him, their very own teacher whom they have dubbed Koro-sensei.
Now that sounds wild, right?
It is the mix of humor, mystery, and sheer depth that keeps viewers glued. The curiousity kept building in me as the episodes went on. Who really is Koro-sensei? Why did he destroy the moon? Why train these particular students? How did he get his powers? None…

Not gonna lie, I went into Assassination Classroom kind of unsure what to expect—like, the whole “kill your alien teacher” thing sounded wild on paper. But surprisingly, it actually has a nice flow to the story. There’s a clear structure to how the class and Koro-sensei evolve, and I found myself appreciating that slow but steady character growth.
The animation was alright. Nothing bad, just nothing that particularly wowed me. It gets the job done, and I respect that—it never looked cheap or rushed, which is always a plus.
That said, I can’t help but feel like I’ve seen a lot of these beats before. The underdog class, the quirky teacher with hidden depth, emotional flashbacks sprinkled in—it’s all solid stuff, but it kind of gave me déjà vu. Like, it has heart, sure, but it still leans h…

An amazing show having all the classic tropes yet is so unique all at the same time. The show transcends what it set out to do and really gets the viewers more involved in the world building. It tries to make us fall in love with every single character, but with such a large cast, it falls somewhat short in the first season. It starts rather slowly but picks up steam very quickly.
Exploring all characters was definitely a risky endeavor, but it still manages to get you invested in their story by the end of it. The final act is commendable as it portrays growth and reflects consciousness and growth of all students in the class. From being the bad bunch to coming this far truly shows great character development.

This is a review of seasons 1 and 2
First and foremost, this show DESPERATELY needs an epilepsy warning at the beginning of each episode. If you haven't watched this series and are sensitive to flashing lights, I'd suggest you steer clear of this one, altogether.
At first, it felt sorta like a toned-down version of Danganronpa, which on paper I'd be all for. But it just sorta felt kinda boring as a result, which is a VERY strange thing to say about a show called "Assassination Classroom". Thankfully it does pick up more and more over time and I found myself enjoying it quite a bit. I wasn't sure if I could fully understand the relationship the characters were having with their new teacher. But sure enough, Koro-sensei's charms got ahold of me eventually, as well. It's a very funny and su…

This started out good, but ended up totally ass². Certainly an ass-ass-ination. Huge differences in quality for the first and second cours.
I wasn't ever a big fan of the artwork, below average but not horrible. The character art remained steady but there was a great drop off in background and especially animation work in the 2nd half. The last 4 eps were tough to stomach. It got so bad with the scrolling across still shots.
The character designs are kind of a mixed bag. Koro Sensei was pretty cool, and showed a little bit of depth. But the rest of the cast is very 2 dimensional. If you are looking for character development, you won't find much here. It's a shame, as it seems some of the characters could have been far more interesting. Especially drab was Nagisa. The little androgynous…

This is a standalone review of the anime adaptation. The original material is beyond the scope of this review and is not a factor for consideration.
Story: The story very quickly established its promise very early on but cleverly substituted this promise in the final episodes in order to set up the climax at the end of the season. Further evidence of high-quality writing are evidenced in the show's pacing: despite each episode resembling a standalone, monster-of-the-week ordeal that delved into a specific character's arc, progress towards the overarching goal is clearly visible and there are no episodes that felt like filler. The final payoff at the end of the season was equally fantastic and truly felt like the culmination of every character's arc. Some foreshadowing is present but the s…

If there is one thing in fiction I've grown to despise as I got older, it's the school setting. I can go on and on about all the pitfalls that school setting works fall into the vast majority of the time. Bullies that virtually never get what they deserve, draconian faculty and staff, and the main character just can't catch a break with humiliation. Every time I see these things, I just want to flip all the tables in my house. Not only are these portrayals of school life being so unbelievably unrealistic, it's also disappointing that I had some classmates back in middle school and high school who took these things for granted.
Assassination Classroom does everything in its power to annihilate all these agonizing tropes of the school setting, and that is why I love it so much. It's the per…

One of the first anime to ever make me ugly cry. Every character is like able and despite this anime being clearly fictional, there are still many parallels that can be made between real life school experiences from the characters to some of problems the characters face, other than the giant yellow teacher of course. Every character is likable in their own way, even the ones with very little dialogue. The primary plot is unique and enjoyable with various curveballs to mix things up. Slice of life meets action is a thing that this anime perfects. One of my favorite anime of all time with my only complaint being that there isn’t more.
