The 35th Anti-Magic Test Platoon is a fairly generic harem anime, and while there are some laughs to be had, and an attempt at compelling worldbuilding is made, it fails to stand out in any particular way. Still, that isn't to say it's bad- it's broadly enjoyable, just not necessarily noteworthy. I'll begin with the story, which is straightforward. We focus in on a particular platoon at this military school where they are meant to hunt witches and combat evil magic users. They're an odd bunch, and hijinks ensue, especially when a new, unexpected member suddenly joins their ranks from the least likely source. I will say that the show manages to maintain a consistent level of humor throughout, and the romance options meet the standard of quality for your average harem, complete with a restra…

This anime was quite boring if I could describe it in just one word. I only got interested in the last plot involving the protagonist's sister, and I believe that if the entire anime had focused on her, it would have been much better because it seems like the episodes leading up to that event were just filler.
However, I was not pleased with the ending at all, extremely rushed, with a resolution that was extremely simple and disconnected from what was previously "predicted" to happen.
It became quite clear that the story is still ongoing, but I can't say whether this anime will ever receive a second season...

Well, i must say, i watched this Anime, because it was available on Amazon Prime for limited time only, i was nicely surprised, despite just the average score. I was entertained for the last 2 days watching it.
The Story is light, yet for Anime with just 12 episodes it was interesting and complete, no plot holes or any uncertainties. I would say it was done just right, really. And the Ecchi Harem moments were pretty entertaining, it had also it serious moments, cause of the supernatural, scifi and military theme. This formula for a successful Anime works quite often.
Art is good, the typical Anime design, about the sound i have nothing to comment, i usually skipped the OP after first episode, it does not have any remarkable OSTs
Since the Anime is on the lighter side, not to deep. The char…

TLDR at the beginning bcuz too much to read for those who don't care:
The rating is 3 because it just didn't make sense as a standalone show. Without any extra context whatsoever, this anime is a writing mess with fanservice that's so shoehorned in, even MY degenerate self felt weird having to look at some of it (except 4 ribbon wrapped blonde girl and hot big tidded "almost segz" scenes. Those are quality scenes if you remove the context of the show ;D). The pacing and writing is simply awful, and unless this entire show gets entirely remade by a far better studio, I won't recommend ANYONE watch this anime, it's a waste of time unless you're in it for the POTENTIAL story and fanservice. (some action scenes are OK if ur for that as well. but I'd say watch any other action anime ever instea…

An unexpectedly good anime. Went in not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. There were a lot of things introduced in this anime that I did not expect.
The story wasn't much to brag about, but there were a few attention-grabbing parts. However, these parts are mostly part of the character story and are used to build up these characters and their relationships and goals. The overall story is fine on its own. There wasn't much of an overarching plot, and was more like the story would be slowly revealed (if that makes sense). Initially, there isn't much that keeps the anime going, but later on, things get introduced that help it along the way. Because of this, the plot feels stretched and chosen for specifics. Also, this anime doesn't do much with its "Ecchi" goal, except in specifi…

A Surprisingly Adequate Display of Genre Convention(SR);
'AntiMagic Academy 35th Test Platoon' is a 2015 Silver link light novel adaptation, the stylings of which almost all of us are very aware of. It runs through standard, highschool harem, action and romcom elements and by all accounts sets itself up to be a wholly unremarkable and forgettable experience, true to form the community in general seems to have threated it in exactly that fashion however I'd like to preface that 35 is actually quite the strong showing for what it attempts to achieve. It's arcs break from the standard 3-4 ep norms of these properties, presenting us with fat-free fast paced two episode tales, further said arcs are actually interlinked and the effects of them do seem to carry into the character's relatively ac…

I binged this all in one sitting, and if you asked if I had regrets, I'd remind you that I gave it a 5. Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai(which is clearly a title that wasn't given a thought on how to shorthand it during its conception) is genuinely not the worst thing out there, but that doesn't mean I won't be talking like it is. Most of the points it earns aren't because it did something unique or special, but they're places where you can say, "okay, you did your job good enough to prevent getting fired, but bad enough that the foundation of that building is so poor that it'll cause the building to collapse in fifteen years or so". Okay, so maybe it isn't as bad as that, but Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai is a constant reminder of what not to do when writing.
Story: 3, Taimadou Gaku…

Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai (2015)
This show asks pretty much the simple question, 'Would you sacrifice everything for those you love?' The answer should always be yes. The issue, in this case, is that the suffering on one individual is so great that it takes away from love. I am sure it has a happy ending in the novels at the end but this leaves a pretty cruel message for those who are being saved for love.
The show itself is pretty hard to score for me. One big thing it has going for the show is the action is superb. It really does a great job at that and is thoroughly enjoyable.
Also somewhat unusually we have an array of best girls to the point that it is very difficult to choose who is best. Sometimes even a supporting character here who moves into waifu territory. This exa…

Mild Spoilers :)
"So then, let me carry half your burden for you" That sentence was the meme of the whole series. Chessy/Cute sayings like these are exclaimed, of course in a non-romantic way, (which somehow all the girls fell for), by the MC all throughout the anime as he sets off on his own personal mission to ensure the safety of his new and old comrades no matter the story of their past. Then at the end, it's time for the girls to "end a shoulder" on his personal situation. It very much reminded me of Grisaia no Rakuen. "Which one was better?" I hear you ask. Probably this one. And here's why.
This anime was very good. It was like an updated version of your classic cliche harem. Yes, there is a dense asf, innocentish, well mannered MC. Japans image of an ideal boy. Yes, there is the…

ok let me start by saying that i liked this anime and wont put up this "Oh look at me i am a proffesional fucking reviewer and ill give a good anime 1/10 cause im retarded" persona!.
Let let's start by saying that this anime was really enjoyable and i liked it alot. There are some problems with it like them introducing the MC sister...which just comes out of nowhere and just fucks shit up...i would prefer if they build her up and introduce her in like EP 5..because u really dont get enough time to get attached to her.She should be the main objective from EP 1..but she comes out of nowhere and is the object from EP 7.
I found the picture transitions very good and the music..including the outro song really good! THeve done a very good job on the music n sound in…

... what am I doing with my life? This is the question I am asking myself after watching this.
This anime is bad. It had some potential, and its artisic style is not horrible, but ...
Have you ever seen that annoying type of story turn when a villain shows up, and proceeds to abuse and verbally torture weakest character present who usually happens to be a weak defenseless girl (even though there may be people present capable of killing him) and then somehow at the last moment escapes the situation undefeated or evne unhurt? This anime does this often, to the point where it starts resembling Re:Zero level torture porn. (Just WHY, WHY would you let someone spew 10 whopping minutes of verbal abuse when you have a sword in your hand and every moral justification and reason to lop their head…

The story centers on a guy who is secretly more powerful than he lets on and his harem of girls who use magical weapons to battle...wait, that describes three different shows from this & last season. This review is for Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon but there may be some comparison to the other two shows, The Asterisk War & Hundred. It's inevitable given all the similarities between all three shows. Of the three Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon is the least memorable and innovative. In fact I had forgotten I'd even watched it until my brother reminded me. That's what doesn't work here. Nothing stands out, nothing is memorable. Bland cookie cutter characters, blasé setting; vauge enemy. It's too clichéd, to seemingly manufacted. Like literally someone googled the top ten…

Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai is one of those anime that you don’t expect much from as it looks like your typical magical school anime on the covers, and well, it is just that. It manages to stay as an ecchi-harem, fantasy-school anime without being anything else. The anime has colorful characters, but only by their hair. The premise is interesting, only if the story wasn’t crammed into a mess. Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai is a great example, a great example of how poor direction can ruin an anime’s potential of being great.
~{Story}~
The story is about The 35th Test Platoon, one of the squads at an anti-witch academy named Antimagic Academy, are nicknamed as the "Small Fry Platoon" due to their lack of co-operation abilities. The story itself isn’t that bad at first as it seems…

It's becoming a common occurrence for various series that I know absolutely nothing about to blindside me and overtake a 4-5 hour portion of my life, leaving nothing but a few gasps and several wide-eyed stares in their respective wakes. In just this year alone, it's happened with shows like Ranpo Kitan, Death Parade, SaeKano, and so many others. Why do so many of the shows that I haven't looked into wind up being better than the ones I count down the days for? Am I just overhyping things too much? Anyway, Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon is just another example of one of these series to glide in under my radar and become something much bigger than anticipated. However, not everyone seems to see it that way.
Being another light novel adaptation, the Anti-Magic Academy anime alrea…

This show is great example of great ideas ruined by bad execution.
Characters: The characters are alright though sometimes they have the most clichéd dialogue imaginable. They do become a bit flat once they get forced into the harem plot archetypes. The the villains are terrible. We are never really told what they want except that they are evil and have evil plans. They are so over-the-top evil that they become unbelievable and almost comical.
Animation and Sound. Sound is fine. The animation is really good minus one really glaring part. Whenever a powerful character (including the main character) transforms the subsequent animation is just awful. Its clunky, laggy, and somehow manages to be worse than the standard animation.
Story: This show has a really interesting concept in an inte…

It is released in October 2015 anime, consisting of 12 episodes and whose highlight genres are action, harem and fantasy.
At first glance it may seem the typical harem, but you can not judge without knowing a little more about it.

Though it initially looks like a military-based magic-fighting show, Taimadou is actually more like your typical action-based harem in a school. It takes many of the good ideas from other shows and, in my opinion, follows many of the themes in Trinity Seven.
Our protagonist, Takeru, is the rather level-headed leader of squad 35, the worst-performing team at the anti-magic academy, which is a school that fights against magic using guns and Shana-like contractors. However, soon, their squad is joined by Ouka, an uptight tsundere who happened to be a star inquisitor but demoted due to her revengeful nature. How will she bond with Takeru and his other companions?
Though there are certainly flaws with this show, especially in the latter episodes, the overall execution is well done and the cha…

If you're expecting the average swordsman harem, this isn't quite it, and yet it, exactly, is. Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai is a satire of the swordsman harem genre that has become the rage in recent seasons. It is enjoyable to watch and follow as it develops, while it points out the glaring, annoying holes that many dislike in the genre.
The story is divided into arcs, which is commonplace for this genre. Each arc tends to be devoted to focusing on a girl of the cast while showing how badass the main character is. The common pitfall is that, while they do get focus during their arcs, the girls in other anime are instantly thrown to the side when the next arc comes around. Anti-Magic Academy does not follow the common failures.
The great thing about 35th is that all the characters…

"Everyone in my crew was killed except me and Shizuka-chan," a cheerful girl says, in a voice she might use to describe her trip to the store to buy milk and eggs.
Remember in the second half of Sword Art Online when the story suddenly dealt with rape and it was really weird and badly handled? This anime reminds me of that. It's really cliche and shallow, bearing striking resemblance to other mediocre anime such as Gakusen Toshi Asterisk or Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, but it has a lot of dark moments showing (relatively) graphic violence and, eventually, attempted rape.
And it just comes off badly. The show's too shallow and immature to handle those aspects well. And given how goofy it is the rest of the time it's just all over the place.
But the really sad thing is how that's nearly the…

Ok! This is my first time writting a review so please go easy on me and also english is not my mother tongue so please forgive some of the grammar mistake i'll make in the review below.
So let go started! i'll keep this as short as possible because i don't think many of you guys have the time to read an entire essay about an anime.
-First impression: Uppon watching the first episode of the anime i think it will be just another formulatic anime with you can see all over the place now a days but boy i was wrong. For the first time in the history we don't have a try hard main or a dense as hell main in combine with the mix of action, comedy and a little bit of harem make it a really enjoyable serie.
